They didn’t thank me for my business. They did t say goodbye or encourage me to come again — they were oblivious and no caring."

Contras: "Starting from boarding this flight was a problem. we had a infant(18 month old) sleeping in our arms as the flight was at 3:30 Am and was delayed by an hour. There was not priority boarding for elderly and people with kids. We had to wait in queue holding our carry ons as well as the kid. As we were last in boarding it was hard to find a closest spot for our carry on. Crew would not respond for about 10 mins or so( not during take off or landing) this was during mid flight when there was no turbulence(seat belt sign was off). We asked for a veg meal instead of baby food as our kid eats solids and she does not like instant baby food's. We requested this when we booked her ticket , she was not even given food luckily we had some milk powder and water bottle. Really bad experience with Emirates"

Contras: "The boarding process is chaotic. Especially so in Dubai. Moreover, they do not allow a laptop bag in addition to the normal carry-on baggage. Every other airline I have flown allows this. What is even more frustrating is that a women's purse is allowed, so I saw women carrying giant bags with their laptops, etc. in those bags, whereas I had to stuff mine into my carry-on briefcase. This is not normal (as in, other airlines allow it), is not mentioned in the ticket, not mentioned while given the boarding pass, BUT is strictly enforced at the very last minute right before entering the plane."

I strongly suggest if someone is bigger than a certain size then they should book 2 seats as 17 hours it wasn't easy for me to ask him to sit in a correct manner or have the handle half up so he uses my seat too Overall u satisfied and painful experience Net was slower on outbound too"

Most of them spent most of the time eating, drinking and talking between them. They probably spent a better flight than us. For a 7 hours flight they offered us just once to have a drink. Their office was completely messy. Nobody really care about their job. They all seemed to be in training period."

Call button brought no help , had to get up and go retrieve steward in back myself!"

For over five hours I tried to use the restroom and she kept yelling at me to sit back in my seat, in spite the fact that several other people were using the restroom and several other people were up and moving about, she singled me out and wouldn't let me get up without harassing me. Eventually I appealed to another one of the flight crew who allowed me to urinate, but it was over five hours I had to pee and was inexplicably not allowed to."

Contras: "The real reason for the negative review is a combination of the cost of this flight, loss of my baggage and poor service after the flight. I paid nearly $4,500 for an economy ticket from New York to New Delhi. The first leg of the flight, from New York to Zurich was delayed long enough that I made my connecting flight to Delhi within seconds of them closing the gate and as a result my baggage was lost. Once I got to Delhi I had to take a connecting flight to Goa and then drive an hour to my destination, where I was attending a good friend's wedding. All of my baggage was lost during transit by the airline, and unfortunately they never delivered by baggage to my hotel...so I was without formal clothes and normal clothes for the wedding for 4 days. The customer service line was no help, and the airline refused to deliver the baggage to me...the closest they would bring it was the Goa airport which was an hour and a half away."

Prós: "Courteous Service and excellent hospitality"

Contras: "I am a frequent flyer from HK to Western Europe and it’s a problem transversal to the majority of the airlines. Service quality drops significantly when coming to Asia. Flights to Europe provide exceptional service."

Probably would have missed the connection if our 26 year old son didn't run ahead. Too much drama and no one from swiss air to help. Suggest more time for transfer in the future or someone to guide passengers. We were nit the only ones. However, we did make it as did the others ( luggage too!)so kudos to swiss for waiting"

They then said we were no shows and cancelled all our remaining flights with no refund. This ended up costing us around $3000. We don't have this kind of money and I don't know how we will pay rent next month."

Prós: "The planets and stars we're aligned to provide an optimal trip. Price was a huge determinant for me...$800 RT Houston to Delhi just can't be beat. And, their arrival time into Delhi is so early (5: 20 am) that customs and immigration is a breeze."

Contras: "After missing our connecting flight in Istanbul on our Turkish Airlines flight on January 9th from LAX-Addis Ababa (due to a nearly 45 minute delayed flight), my sister and I had to spend 24 hours in Istanbul and still pay for a night in our 4 star hotel in Addis, despite the fact that we weren't there. So, in preparation for our flight back to LAX, I spent hours on the phone with a Turkish Airlines representative to ensure that we would not miss our connecting flight on the way back to LAX on January 29 (Jomo Kenyatta-IST-LAX). The TA representative spoke very little English and became incredibly frustrated with me when I expressed my concern about how closely scheduled our connecting flights in Istanbul were. The representative said she could "help us" by seating us at the back of the plane from Jomo Kenyatta-IST, as she was "mostly sure" that our plane would deboard from the back of the plane once we arrived in Istanbul and, in theory, we wouldn't have to wait behind all the other customers to exit. This was totally incorrect: our plane only deboarded from the front exit door and the seats she selected at the back would surely have caused us to miss our next flight were it not for the fact that the plane wasn't full and we arrived only a few minutes late. Still, by the time we got off the plane in IST, our connecting flight was already 15 minutes into boarding. We showed the TA attendants our boarding passes at the long security line, and at first they both said, "don't worry, it will be fine". I had to convince them to let us skip the line as we would clearly have missed our flight. Once we finally made it through security we ran through the ENTIRE Istanbul airport to get to our gate, as we could hear them calling the final boarding call for our flight to LAX. We literally ran as fast as we could for almost 20 minutes straight, with all of our bags, which ended up being over a mile, I would guess. When we got to our gate, we had to go through yet another security line - WHY??? Apparently there was a celebrity in front of us, and while we were sweating and nervous about missing our flight, the security agents were taking selfies with the celebrity. It was insulting and rude and totally unprofessional. The take away for me is that Turkish Airlines should NOT be allowed to sell flights to people that give them less than an hour to make international connecting, especially in an airport as large and disorganized as Istanbul, and especially when Turkish Airlines flights are often late or delayed. This was one of the most stressful flying experiences of my life."

Contras: "Pack a meal and don’t rely on the airport at Istanbul for a grab and go meal beyond prepacked sandwiches. No options for lactose-free meals beyond the potato chips at the bar. In-flight food was awful- we had the no lactose meals."

Contras: "The international transfer line in Istanbul was an absolute nightmare. I had to jump to the front of the line or I would have missed my connection despite having a 90 minute window of time to make it through. It seems this airport lacks the capacity needed to get people through efficiently based on the numbers of travelers using it."

Prós: "I got extremely sick on the flight from Istanbul to San Francisco. I now know I caught a stomach bug which hit me on the flights from Cape Town to Istanbul and then even worse from Istanbul to San Francisco. The flight from Istanbul was delayed by two hours due to customs delay for a passenger, as such there was a lot of recycled air. Take that and fact I'm pregnant and by time i started the 13 hour journey already felt sick. I started throwing up immediately and got sick 12 more times. the flight attendants brought me crackers, water and a cold towel and ice. My husband asked if he could pay to put me in business class but was not in airline policy. but i think given how sick and pregnant i was the flight attendant went to ask the captain if there was anything they could do to assist. they ended up moving me to business class to lie down and let me stay there for 3 hours. I got sick upon moving back but getting that rest really helped me. I felt like they genuinely cared about me and am so thankful to the two flight attendants who assisted: 1) Zumrat Bolukbas 2) Hatice (Cabin Chief) These women are amazing!"
Contras: "the 2 hour flight delay on tarmac."

Prós: "At least there was a good selection of movies"
Contras: "Of the frequent number of flights I've taken in the past year, this was the most unexceptional. Nothing stood out, good or bad. Food was bland, attendants were just doing their jobs and never saw one walk up and down the aisle between services to see if there were any needs or concerns."

Prós: "Comfortable plane, excellent and friendly crew, easy check in and smooth flight."
Contras: "Getting off the plane at Istanbul airline was on the tarmak and then transfer to airport via shuttle. It says raining outside, the stairs going down where wet and one had to run to the bus. This was fine for me but not the find for more senior passengers. No personal entertainment but very short flight."

Prós: "I just liked the entertainment. I watched couple of movies comfortably. That's it."
Contras: "I didn't like the food, crew. Most crews didn't SMILE, din't greet properly. It is very disappointing. Why they don't Smile? During my trip to Atl to Istambul I asked one crew to give me some water. But she didn't give me. After then I asked another crew. It made me very upset. I am not satisfied about food. It is not standard. It needs to be improved. Train your crews how to SMILE and Greet."

Prós: "Selection of movies and other entertainment options"
Contras: "The distance between seats is pretty small. It was very uncomfortable 11 hours flight for a 6 foot tall individual. On our flight back I called flight attendant several times, however no one came and each time "call attendant" light was turned off remotely."

Prós: "Very comfortable. The best flight i ever had."
Contras: "There was a problem with conecting the headphones. The chicken dish wasnt good."

Prós: "Lots do watch/do on the console. Smooth flight. Responsive staff when available."
Contras: "Perhaps because of Istanbul security measures, but all water removed before boarding plane, with no chance to get more. Stewards couldn't give out bottles of water, only those little cups from time to time. They could bring more of those little cups when you called for them, but not during turbulence. So having no access to water was not great (or planned out on their part). Also, no random sweeps of the aisle by the stewardess from time to time, to check on comfort. My seat kept being pushed by passenger behind me. Flight into Istanbul two weeks prior was great all around. This knee was filled with too many negative moments."

Prós: "The food and entertainment were great. The crew was good but..."
Contras: "...I could not feel the air conditioning at all where I was sitting in the back of the plane. I was literally sweating the entire flight. When I asked the flight attendants about it they muttered that they would take care of it and then never did. It was a very uncomfortable flight."

Contras: "Food was better in last trip. This time is sandwich"

Prós: "At Lisboa airport, I was checked in by Antonio. Most helpful checkin guy I've ever spoken to in my years of traveling. The food is always impressive (for airline food) and they give you a lot to drink. The last time I flew, there was an Autistic passenger throwing a fit and no one seemed to do anything. This time, a person was really upset with his companion on the flight and began screaming. The attendants helped calm him down and fixed the situation quickly. I guess last time they must've just let it happen because of the disability so there's not much they can do in that situation."
Contras: "Not a big ran of the Turkish Airport. Everything is pretty cheap for an airport though if you bring Turkish Lira. They tend to round the price up a bit if you pay in USD or Euro."

Prós: "I won't fly this airline e"

Prós: "On-board chef was excellent. Movie selection was excellent. Crew was very friendly and prompt."

Contras: "The plane was supposed to leave Lisbon at 5:00 a.m. but because of computer problem it left at 5:50, a delay that caused everyone to scramble to get to their connecting flight or even miss it."

Prós: "I didn’t enjoy this flight as everything seemed very unwelcoming here"
Contras: "Take care of passengers for drinks and others. Treat passengers with other languages nicely rather than in condescending way. I saw air hostess laughing among themselves and being little short with passengers who couldn’t communicate. The boarding process was very chaotic with no groups."

Prós: "Crew members went out of their way to ensure the passengers’ comfort."
Contras: "Boarding process in Frankfurt was very confusing and haphazard. Some passengers had been pre-checked, others had not been- which delayed the boarding. Flight was an hour late. Baggage claim in Delhi was a mess- had to wait for more than hour to get one checked bag."

Contras: "Boarding totally chaotic, someone was in my assigned seat, plane was very late, food was crappy, no legroom , seat and armrests uncomfortable , constant screaming babies, smelly passengers, music only came out of one speaker, music kept jumping from one song to another and then back !"

Contras: "Traveled business class and the big perk was nobody in the middle seat. My seat was same size and uncomfortable as economy seats. The seating chart when I chose seats showed only 2 seats on each side. However there were 3 regular seats on each side, just like economy. Not a nice surprise."

Contras: "The delay on embarking into the plane. Stayed on the bus, in from of the plane for about 15 minutes and I thought I was in an sauna. and on the departure was delay for about 15 minutes . The crew was OK but nothing out of the ordinary."

Contras: "Paid WiFi didn’t work for half the flight. They should post a map with when it works (above which countries) as apparently it’s a licensing issue."

Contras: "Boarding delayed, awkward & slow. Employees rude and bossy. Crew on board not pleasant or helpful. Food disgusting. Noticed same dramatic difference in passenger treatment between SFO and Frankfurt legs of the flight. They treat the mostly Indian customers differently. I go to India every year. It was same last year. My suitcase broken in transit. Reported. No call back after several days. I’m US citizen of German ancestry. I feel badly about lack of service for India bound passengers."

Contras: "Just talked to my parents who were traveling and they had no help at FRA. It was very disappointing and something they said they do not want to go thru ever again."

Contras: "Boarding was chaotic, lines weren't well controlled. Ground crew needs better training in being proactive, assertive, communicate better with tired passengers who have had to wait for 5hours in the very staid, and outdated Frankfort airport. Same problems with the headsets."

Prós: "I think this airline is a very good airline, but this flight was shorter so it didn't have all of the perks of the longer ones that it usually has."
Contras: "In Lisbon we had to be bused out to the airplane to board, so it was a long process."

Prós: "This was my first international flight, and also first on Lufthansa, and I was thoroughly impressed. We traveled with another couple who've flown internationally multiple times, but this was their first Lufthansa flight as well, and they said it's the best they'd had. The crew were all excellent, friendly, and accommodating. There was plenty of entertainment options, refreshments, and snacks. The food was very good-much better than I'd expected. I appreciated that there were pillows, blankets, and headphones readily available as well. I'll try to fly Lufthansa every chance I get when flying internationally."

Prós: "Check-in was quick, only 4 parties ahead of me even though I arrived at the airport only 60 minutes prior to departure. Cleared security quickly too. Aircraft new and clean. Breakfast, excellent omelet, and crew extremely attentive to our needs- offering 2 drinks instead of other airlines which just give one and makes you feel that is all you deserve."

This was so rude and there is no way to get back into customs area. If we paid 200 for bags I expect them to arrive on time. I’m asking for a refund of the baggage fees."
