Contras: "We didn't fly to Zurich. Instead, we flew from Berlin to Frankfurt to San Francisco to San Diego. Although the alternate airlines did a fine job and we had nice flights thanks to them, we only found out about the change when we arrived at the airport and it caused us multiple inconveniences throughout the day. Our flight from Berlin to Zurich was scheduled to board at 9am, so we left our accommodations at 6:30am so we could arrive at the airport around 7am. It was a rushed, hectic morning and we stayed up late preparing for it the best we could. When we arrived and found out our flight was canceled, we learned our new flight wouldn't board until 11am. So we rushed for no reason and had to spend a considerable amount of extra time at the airport that we could have spent enjoying coffee one last time at a local cafe or something. We planned to fly straight from Zurich to San Diego so we could participate in an interview for our Global entry application (which you can only do when arriving in the US from an international flight). Because we had a brief layover in San Francisco instead, we had no time for this and were unable to do the interview when we arrived in San Diego because it was a domestic flight. The change also caused issues with our luggage. We're not used to checking bags when we fly OR flying internationally with layovers in the US, so we asked the agent at the Swiss desk in Berlin how it would would with both of those aspects in our travel with the itinerary changes. The agent told us our luggage would follow us all the way to San Diego and we didn't have to worry about it. However, we learned once we got to San Diego that our bags were left in San Francisco because apparently we were supposed to pick them up and recheck them, but we had no idea. It was a huge bummer and we wish we would have had more control over our itinerary that day. People book certain flights for certain reasons and need to have a say when their flights need to change."

Prós: "Though I was never sent an email for my daughter's check in, I had a different reservation for her but still under my name and same email, when I called on the phone the people were pleasant. They still never provided me with an email though and information allowing me to have my daughter checked in. they only provided me with her reference number."
Contras: "All in all we had a poor experience and my family and I were disappointed. I'm about to book yet another ticket for my brother, but this time I'm not considering Swiss Air. Just so you know, I'm a very positive person and appreciate every polite and courteous gesture. Unfortunately this experience didn't allow me to do so."

Even if my scheduled flight from boston wasn't canceled (I have no idea) they were incredibly unhelpful about the fact that I physically could not get to logan in time for my flight. (Mass DOT was asking everyone to stay off ALL roads). THEN on the way home, they would NOT let me fly back to Montreal where my car was!! WAY TOO RIGID RULES. Screw the customer!"
Prós: "The seats in exit row were large enough for me to straighten my legs"
Contras: "Very rude attendants. Also if you sit in the exit row they don’t let you put ANYTHING on your lap or by your feet, even a sweatshirt that you remove for a moment. I have never had this problem on any other airline."

Contras: "Seats 23A, 23B were extra cramped on the B777-300ER, even though they are sold as "extra comfort"! due to the video screen taking space between the seats. The seats were so cramped that the overhead light kept coming on, unknowingly, when people shifted in their seats."

Prós: "I really liked the "About my flight" application on the viewing screens because it always gave me an idea of what we were flying over and how much longer we woulld be in the air. The food was excellent and I was pleasantly surprised that I could have wine with dinner or any time the attendants offered beveragess. The attendants were always professional and helpful. They all were fluent in English as well as several other languages. It was a nice touch when the attendant wore white gloves when he or she was collecting passengers' trash after meals and/or beverage service. I loved the cheese that was served at dinner. The warm croissants served at breakfast were a very nice touch."
Contras: "Due to turbulence, I could not get out of my seat as much on the return flight, so I did have some swelling in my feet."

This option was never offered to me at check-in."

I’ve never had a problem with my backpack before, and it fits well within the size restrictions and easily fits in the overhead.. then they were unable to transfer my bag that I payed 40 euro to check, to my connecting flight. Therefore I had to wait two days to receive my luggage at my final destination in Rome.. Overall a really mediocre and frustrating experience."

Iberia charged my credit card 55.00 for the service and then, without my knowledge Iberia changed my seats and denied charging me extra. I have papers to prove my claim and will dispute the charges with my credit card company. The communication between flight attendants and passengers was horrible. Those of us who had not eaten yet (about half the plane in economy seating) watched the flight attendants bring out extra bread to all of the other economy passengers who had already received their meals, while we, who had not eaten yet, watched. My husband inquired if we were also receiving meals. He was told that everyone would eventually receive a meal. Horrible customer service, the worst ever. Later, before landing the pilot cancelled beverage and snack service because of possible weather conditions but never put the seat belt sign on until we began our decent. Nothing made any sense. It was like a crazy person was in charge. I would not trust Iberia to take me anywhere in the future."

Prós: "This trip would have been another good experience for me flying with Iberia if it wasn't for the man that was sitting behind me. He didn't want me to recline my seat because he wanted to cross his legs... I told him that the guy in front of me had his seat reclined all the way and I wanted (sort of needed) to do the same, then he got aggressive with verbal abuse, called me names and he punched my seat. So I called the flight attendant and told her about the incident. She was nice and calm and told the man in a very respectful way that I wasn't doing anything wrong and he should not behave in an aggressive manner, etc. The man kept mumbling insults addressed to me while talking to his wife and making sure I was hearing it.... And he kept kicking my seat every now and then, and made a fuss every time he went to the toilet. He really ruined my flight experience to New York."

Contras: "I paid extra for a seat in the exit row and as soon as we took off someone from another row snuck into the exit row without paying and the flight attendants totally ignored him and he sat there the entire flight for free. They don’t give you so much as a glass of water for free and the luggage took 45 minutes to appear after landing. I certainly wouldn’t chose to fly them again if I had an alternative tho they are better than that horror Vueling whose seats were so close together that I was unable to sit with my legs straight because the leg room was so little."

Also they said that my luggage would already be in Berlin but it was not and now I am still trying to find it. Yikes!"
Prós: "My flight went smooth and on time. I think we were early. The service is impeccable. Most in-flight meals are pretty crummy if you get one at all. The flight I took wasn't packed somthere was plenty of room. Even if it was there was still a fair amount of space. The entertainment was way better than the ole " everyone get to watch the same thing. Wi-Fi, new releases, even some classic 80's. if you get bored on this flight you really don't deserve to fly internationally."

This makes NO SENSE and requires that you retrieve your luggage from baggage claim, and then check in once more and then another trip through security once again! This never happens in the US - one of the few things we get right. Also, I have never had to board a plan from the tarmac since 1970 in the US - why do we have to always wait for and take buses from our check in gate out to the flight line? And how is this ever considered, "Premium Boarding?" It's like a cattle car. Fix these things and I will sing the praises of TAP forever."

Food wasn't exactly stellar, but clearly a lot better than on most European flights operated by larger companies (Lufthansa, KLM, Air France etc.). The aircraft itself was clean and looked fairly new and well maintained"
Contras: "The seating was absolutely HORRENDOUS. Even though I'm nearly 6'3" (close to 1.90m), I generally never complain about seating space or legroom, even on low cost flights. This particular TAP aircraft, however, despite looking quite new, had some of the most cramped seating ever. Additionally, the trays were minuscule (you could barely place the entire food tray the service during the flight, let alone have another drink at the same time on the tray). Also, on the inbound flight (this was the return one), the seats were fitted with a very simple and clever tablet-holding mechanism, so you could easily watch something on your table while eating your food (from a similarly small tray table). The seat back pockets do not have any material/fabric on the sides, so stored items could easily slip out sideways from the pocket. Shame to have such a good in flight service and to be a punctual airline if you're going to carry your passengers cramped like cattle in seats 'rivalling' the ones on Ryanair flights on 4-hour long journeys."

Be prepared to walk or stand everywhere, baggage check-in at Orly is in the basement and the last areas 132. The gates are the last gates in the south terminal. And when you get to the gate boarding is done enmasss so you wait in line. But the fares are cheap."

Contras: "Nuestro vuelo entre Boston y Lisboa arriba llegó con retraso a su destino, Lisboa. En Lisboa, las maletas se retrasaron más de 1 hora. Debido a ambos retrasos, perdimos el vuelo de conexión entre Lisboa y Oviedo. En Lisboa, los empleados del mostrador de Air Europa ni nos miraron a la cara. No se disculparon ni hicieron ningún ademán de ayuda. No había otros vuelos entre Lisboa y Oviedo hasta el día siguiente. Tuvimos que rehacer los billetes de avión en el aeropuerto de Lisboa, encontrar un hotel en Lisboa y cenar allí por el retraso del avión de su compañia y el indebido manejo de equipajes. Aunque las compañias aereas entre Boston y Lisboa y Lisboa y Oviedo fuesen distintintas, el asunto de " no es nuestro problema" " no es una sloución" al viajero, especialmente cuando se trata de vuelos internacionales. Lo menos que Air Europa podría haber hecho por nosotros es habernos facilitado un voucher para pasar la noche en Lisboa. Por decirlo claramente, rehacer los billetes a Oviedo y pasar la noche en Lisboa sumó otros 1000 dólares. Ni que decir que en Oviedo tuvimos que rehacer todo lo demás,porque nuestro vuelo no salió hasta las 4 de la tarde del día siguente. La vuelta del día 21 de Julio desde Lisboa a Boston aconteció iigualmente con otras dos horas de retraso. La compañia Delta en Boston e ofreció a montarnos en un avión Bostón-Atlanta más tarde sin gasto alguno. Su compañia en cambio se disculpó en un vuelo internacional. Su lema "No es nuestro problema". De poco sirve esto ahora de vuelta en mi casa, exceptuando que esta familia no utilizará en el futuro su compañia en ningún vuelo internacional, ni recomendará su aerolinea a otras personas. Nunca Iberia,Delta, Air France, British Airways, Tap ni American se han comportado de este modo a lo largo de nuestro recorrido por el mundo."

Please make it clear from the very beginning that checked luggage is not included. Easy Jet does a great job of this, giving you the option to pay for a checked bag when buying your ticket. With Air Europa, I had no idea at all."

Contras: "It was a connecting flight for a lot of people but the crew didn't say where to go for connections. I know that's not really their job, but many people (ourselves included) were running through the airport to first find then travel to our connections. A simple "go right for connections" could have sufficed because in a very un-airport-like move, there were no signs about connections, just gates, and our boarding pass for the connection said Gate ABC--which meant it was either Gate A (60 options), Gate B (60 options), or Gate C (60 options) and Gate A was slightly left and the other two were about a 30 minute run/walk. We had 45 minutes between flights, which we thought was reasonable, but we spent 15 of them trying to figure out where to go and asking airport employees who said follow the gate number and when we showed them Gate ABC, became confused because there was no gate number."
