Prós: It was an ok flight. Nothing really to brag, or boast about. We got on the plane quickly. There were many options when it came to entertainment, and food.
Contras: I think that parents travelling with crying children should have to compensate the other passengers some how. There was a crying child the entire way. It's not the airlines fault, but it still makes a 12 hour flight feel like an eternity.
Also, on a 12+ hour flight, they only served beverages twice (when they served the meals). I think water should have been offered every 90 minutes, or so.

Contras: Mediocre boarding: On a different, internal LATAM flight, they cancelled my connecting flight from Brasilia to Sao Paulo. To their credit, they organised another flight within about 2 hours. But their information sharing was terrible. The cancelled flight didn't show up on the board as cancelled - it simply vanished. I had to walk around looking for someone wearing a LATAM shirt, and ask them about it. They simply said "go to gate 20". At gate 20, there was a long queue. The screen above the gate said nothing. After about 45 minutes in the queue, I finally discovered that I would luckily not be spending the night in Brasilia. How hard could it be to inform a queue of people of basically what's happening, and put up something useful on a screen?

Contras: Wheelchair was requested 2 days in advance. Arriving at the airport, no wheelchair was available. After an hour long check in process, I still had to go to another guichet and wait extra 30 minutes to get a wheelchair. The guy pushing the chair was more worried about it being stolen than with the wellbeing of my daughter with a broken leg. He rushed to deliver us at the gate and disappeared. I had to carry my daughter on my arms again during the boarding process, including 10 minutes locked inside a special truck for handicapped with no air-conditioning on the 86F Brazilian summer. Never more!
Crew was concerned about my daughter and moved other passengers to give her more space.

Prós: Bought our tickets a couple of months ahead of time. We've flown with TAM before with our five-pound Yorkie, but this was our first time since their merger with the Argentinian airline.
We were attracted by a low price and a nonstop flight from MIA to Rio, and checked with their customer service dept about flying with our dog - they said it wouldn't be a problem, but tocall back two weeks ahead of the flight to confirm that the dog would fly with us. They charged $250 each way for a little dog in the cabin - twice what other carriers charge, but the ticket price made up for it.
Contras: We called two weeks before the flight, and were told to call back again in a couple of days. We called two days later and were told to call back again in a couple of days..... The next day, we called again, and their customer service rep said that dogs were not allowed on the flight. What???
9 days before our flight, and we've got to scramble to find new tickets. We found tickets with Copa for almost the same price, and hey were happy to fly our little dog in the cabin for half the price that LATAM wanted. We got a $200 total refund from LATAM for seats that they sold to someone else. Never again, Never.

2. I would have loved being able to order a cuba libre or other mixed drink.

I was fine with that but the seat they moved me too had a broken TV so I wasn’t able to watch anything for 9 hrs but the person who took my seat happily watch movies. Also, the seats were horrendous. I will not be flying with LaTam anymore and instead will use Azul.
