Take-off & landing were very smooth despite a delay upon take-off. Made my connecting flight with time to buy lunch."

Contras: "If we were standing in line for a long time, I hope they can increase the number of counters. They can also dispense with the nonsense chitchat. It's not needed, just move it along. The roving staff should to remind those next in line to prepare their documents, it seems the lady at the counter had to ask for photo ID every time!"

Prós: "The seats were the widest with the most cushion and padding I've ever had on any flight, I think all their seats were like that. The plane we were on had more leg room than your average flight. Also the backs of the chair were very tall, leaving even mpre head room perfect for tall people . I fly a lot and sometimes my knees hit the seat in front of me or when they recline it shoves the tray to close to you. Not on this flight there was enough room for me to lay back in the seat had the adjustable headrest that went up and down and also curved in to hold your head from falling on your neighbor next to you. Love the fact they had the USB plug-in in front of you. And the crew constantly kept coming through to empty trash and offer beverages. The plane was clean bathrooms in front and back of the airplane. Over all quiet engine and we were above the wings. Temperature good."
Contras: "The crew member that was checking in people at the gate would talk so fast we could barely understand what he was saying on the overhead announcement. I was traveling with someone who was hearing impaired so we were unaware of that they were getting ready to board. The electronic TV monitor wasn't updating to say boarding to notify people that would be helpful for the hearing impaired. Or--if a crew member is muffled on the announcement or talks too fast you can't understand or know what's going on. The most frustrating thing for me and my daughter we were both expecting to use Delta online entertainment. There are no monitor screens in the seats in front of us on this plane. So we were able to use our phones, but it would not download and once It finally downloaded we couldn't upload any of the movies. Connection speed way too slow. The warning said there were too many people on it at that time. Also I like it when they offer free headphones for people that don't have them. An example that would benefit people that don't want to listen to loud people on the plane or babies that are crying."

Perhaps try splitting the boarding process into zones so it isn't a mad house free for all after the initial boarders. 3. On my flight to Frankfurt, the plane was half empty, yet my seat was changed from row 8 where I would have had almost no one near me back to row 23 where they had cramped all the passesngers into one area of the plane. This was done without request or explanation."

Flight attendants were very nice and professional. I gave the food 5 stars based on other airline food, I'm not expecting restaurant quality at 37,000'. Movie selection was adequate for me, although I've seen some complaints in the reviews here."
Contras: "It was a little tricky checking in on my phone. The check email reminder didn't carry the info I needed to check in which required extra searching and copying and pasting. That experience could be streamlined. There was group confusion when being directed to board the plane on two flights."

The crew were all excellent, friendly, and accommodating. There was plenty of entertainment options, refreshments, and snacks. The food was very good-much better than I'd expected. I appreciated that there were pillows, blankets, and headphones readily available as well. I'll try to fly Lufthansa every chance I get when flying internationally."

The food, wine/ beer service was same as regular economy, the boarding took place at same time as economy, no drink before take-off if only sparkling water. And the plane was old generation 747 and the entertainment was same vintage: screen was not very bright and the selection of films was poor. No plug to charge electronics. We were disappointed with KLM when comparing with other airline companies offerings when you book in Premium Economy."

Contras: "The navigation of the entertainment system is not very friendly"
Contras: "Without any explanation the plane I was due to go to Istanbul on at 11.30 was not available. I had to wait for a small plane coming from Edinburgh then wait for it to be emptied of passengers and cleaned. This meant we were over 2 hours late into Istanbul. No explanation or apology. I then missed my next flight in Istanbul and had to purchase another ticket. I cannot believe that air passengers are treated in this way!!! I will follow this up with KLM when I go home from my holiday."
Prós: "Ground staff at Manchester very helpful"
Contras: "Information on KLM website and flight status said 50 minutes delay and was never updated with the true status. 3 hours before we took off. KLM blamed the fog at Manchester but to be honest most other flights seemed unaffected. Put up in an IBIS hotel and fed substandard food and shitty hotel room with an Aircon unit that clunks into action every 30 seconds keeping me awake. It's external so I can't switch it off. Being given a 10 Euro voucher for food at the airport when most food and a drink will cost you 12 to 15 euros."
Prós: "Good multi media access and content"
Prós: "From pre-boarding, to boarding, to the food, and the attentiveness, everything was top notch! The cleanliness of the plane was only topped by the friendliness of the crew."
Contras: "The flight was marked at almost 11hrs but ended up being only 9...not a negative other than it meant not spending as much time on board!"

Set on the tarmac for 25 minutes, but didn't take passengers in the meantime. No humanity.... never using BA again."
Contras: "If you want to reserve your airline seat (I'm talking a standard economy seat) you have to pay $34 per seat if it's 24 hours or more before your flight. Guess what happens at 24 hours? The airport takes over and you're stuck in the middle of a crowded 10.5 hour flight all because you weren't able to select your seat ahead of time. Just another money grab from a tanking airline."

Prós: "The cabin crew were excellent. The food service was very good. Entertainment choices were abundant and generally good."
Contras: "Reaching our connecting flight. The Bataan death march comes to mind—concourse 3 to 5, oh my! Having got through all the hurdles including incomprehensible up, down, up again down again escalator rides and security pat down for my wife we got to Concourse 5 where we learned our plane was leaving from C gates, but not which C gate. So we looked for directions to C gates. The only signage was for C gates 52 to 57. Common sense would lead one to believe that C gates 1 to 51 existed somewhere in the terminal; but no they do not and not many people are aware that they don’t. There has to be a better way. Perhaps before Brexit becomes a reality you could lean on Germany’s vaunted efficiency to help clean up this nightmare scenario."
Prós: "Food was OK"
Contras: "Ridiculous last-minute gate change with no notice in Frankfurt forced us to go through security twice and throw away our refreshment purchases. US Customs and Passport Control at Seatac was disorganized and downright surly. My spouse and I were separated on the flight and there is no room for adult bodies to sit with so many seats across without being pressed uncomfortably into strangers for nine hours. It is nearly impossible to sleep under such inhuman conditions. Shame on British Airways for putting profit over service and comfort."
Prós: "Good enough room, and had personal screens to watch movies and TV"
Prós: "Flight crew was top notch with few exceptions. Safe journey. Great price tag with what should have been limited connections."
Contras: "BA used to be one of my three favorite airlines, especially the international. Sat on tarmac for over 2 hours because no one thought to load luggage of a couple hundred people or de-ice the wings for the sprinkle of snowflakes that terrified London. Cancelled our first flight to London a few hours before we were to leave home and after two hours on the phone, we were instructed to cancel our remaining flights and purchase a connecting flight to our destination ON OUR OWN DIME with the hope BA May reimburse. Had to fly into another COUNTRY, pay for our own hotel room and transfers and got to our final destination a day later, with only crossed fingers BA will take care of some of those expenses or at very least reimburse for the cancelled flight. They Lost our luggage on the way home because of a 2-hour delay (tarmac story above^), because they involved 3 airlines in their efforts to help us connect back home. Staff and crew we saw face to face were great to help...though not all customers shared that experience as we witnessed. Administratively, based on our 2 weeks of multi-country travel with them, BA seems to have lost the ability to manage themselves. 2.5 hour flight from Rome to London has terrible service and we had to ask for water to drink. Everything else was paid...I’m accustomed to that on regionals Euro commuter flights but very surprising on a full-fledged BA plane covering that distance. So many extra inches given to the thirty folks in first and business that commoners get sardine seats across the pond to America. That being said, the seats themselves are plenty comfortable withthe exception of arm rests that do not fully position upright. BA used to make you feel incredibly fortunate to fly with them. Now, I appreciate the crew who worked very hard to make-up for such an ugly delay on the ground and in baggage and flightbmanagement. The rest left me with a migraine."
Prós: "This was actually a very pleasant trip. Left a few minutes late (minor mechanical issue) but arrived right on time. Crew was courteous and efficient. The food was the best I have had on any airline in years. Entertainment included a good selection of recent movies."
Contras: "I'm 6'2" and slender - those seats are tight in both leg room and shoulder width, hence the "OK" rating for comfort. I was fortunate that my seat mates were also slender so none of us overlapped the armrests, and that the person ahead of me never reclined their seat because I have no idea of where my legs would have fitted had they done so. The only other gripe is that the volume of the entertainment system seems disconnected from the announcement system. The announcement system is WAY louder than the entertainment system - painfully so. I noticed many others around me also ripping off their headphones when a crew announcement commenced."
Prós: "Serve was normal and so was the food."
Contras: "Left the terminal building by bus to the aircraft. Had to exit the bus, WALK ACROSS the tarmac and up a set of stairs to the plane. REALLY, British Air couldn't find a proper gate at the terminal? What if it had been raining or my elderly mother that needs a wheel chair? BA needs to solve these problems fast if they want my service in the future."
Contras: "This was in coach class, so I understand the cramped quarters, but even on a long haul flight (BA 49, LHR-SEA), how could they justify the seating in the planes? Perhaps BA executives should fly coach class on one of these planes to understand what they are putting their customers up to. Here are 2 additional items that should be a no-brainer to fix: a) They ran out of fresh bottled water. For the last one hour, all they could offer was sparkling water b) Somehow BA seem to be saving on food portions (or their caterer needs to be changed) - lunch/dinner portions are way too small."
Prós: "British Airways provides complimentary amenities in coach not found on US carriers: A hot meal, snacks, beverages other than water or coffee/tea. Their media selection is superb. They seem to work hard to make a nine-hour flight over The Pond as tolerable as possible."
Contras: "My comfort was better on the return leg because I had the extra leg room that comes with being seated on the emergency exit row. However, regular coach seating is at best tolerable. You are packed like sardines and the seats are firm, to put it mildly."

We were given a hotel room but the promised meal vouchers did not come through and BA would not answer the phone calls of the hotel staff to verify meal money. Missed a whole day of our vacation as we could not reschedule our connection until 24 hrs late. After the long wait the first day to be told what was going on, with much anxiety, on the second day there was also a delay boarding. Although it was short, of course everyone was on edge. And BA did not tell us what was happening!!"
Contras: "Headphone jack was faulty"

Contras: "We werent able to change our seats online and nor at the airport counter. So my husband and I had to sit separately on this long flight"
Prós: "We had a very helpful terminal emplyee help us get from our arrival gate to our departure gate. I know he doesn't work for you but he was great. The arrival gate personnel (including pilots) were very sympathetic to our frustration (not having our wheelchair) and worked hard to get us to the departure gate. Good work!!"
Contras: "Requested a Kosher meal through the British Airways reservation directly, was not provided with such for the trip. Boarding was delayed by 35 minutes."
Prós: "The seats were comfortable - thats pretty much the only good thing I have to say about this trip."
Contras: "Everything was a complete mess, from switched seats (and we had paid over 6 months prior for specific seats), lost luggage, missed meals (somehow they kept skipping rows of people, letting people leave the plane while leaving their bags in the overhead bins - just a disappointing mess."

Contras: "There is no business class lounge in the international terminal. Had to pay extra to reserve seats in advance of 24 hours. Really, I'm paying $10K for 2 business seats and I can't reserve when I book.???"

Contras: "I did not like the policy of paying to assign yourself a seat ($51 per seat) unless you do it online 24 hours prior to your flight - which I chose to do. I understand in the current business climate of paying for better seats, but nickle and diming plain Jane economy seats is unacceptable."

Contras: "for my flight from London to Seattle I tried to check in the day before online and it said online check in was unavailable. Then when i got to the airport in London i tried checking in at the kiosk and it said it could not confirm my booking. i was brought to a help desk where they said they had to release a seat for me because the flight was so full. It was very stressful and the employees didn't seem too concerned. I understand they may deal with this on a daily basis but to me it was scary to think i may not get on a plane home when i paid over $1000.00 and it wouldn't let me check in early. I would have appreciated a little empathy."
Prós: "BA has the best airline food. Our flight was 9 hours, and they served a full meal with wine early on, and a snack box toward the end. The flight crew is outstanding. The in-flight movies were good, with a decent choice of recent movies."
Contras: "These were the smallest airplane seats I've ever encountered. On the leg from Seattle to London, I was in a window seat and my 6'2" husband was wedged in a middle seat. We were both cramping up halfway through the flight. When the person in front of me reclined his seat, my meal ended up in my lap. On the London-to-Seattle return trip, for some reason, the airline changed our seats so we weren't sitting together, and changed us both to middle seats. The agent at the gate said the plane was full, but managed to get us both aisle seats. I would highly recommend an aisle seat since it's easier to get in and out to stretch the legs."

Eye strain from having a screen 6 inches from your face, or less. Seats should not be able to recline in such a design. Can't get to carry on bag. Trash pickup was mediocre. Horrid space. "Entertainment" choices paltry."

Contras: "Different than my previous flights on BA, the flight attendants in Economy were a bit dower and spoke with a rather clipped attitude. I had asked for tea when they came through with beverage choices in the beginning and they said I had to wait until after dinner. They did not return. I thought that was a bit odd since it is a British Airways flight and I had never had issued obtaining tea before. I saw them be pretty abrupt with other guests as well."

Contras: "This agent spent 30+ min to check us in through a connection flight to Seattle. He couldn't find my wife's reservation, when it should be in the same reservation as me. He tried 5 times, and still failed. Later we found out at the gate that he was using the wrong name (same last name, different first name). Luckily the American Airline agent at the gate was more than competent and efficient to correct the issue in 5 min."

Being in the Customer Sevice industry I know this is unacceptable, I would never replace a damaged item with one that was not like the original or ask a customer to do so. I will not fly American Airlines any longer."

Contras: "Plane was old and didn't include personal screens in the seats, for an 8+ hour flight it should be mandatory. Everything about the plane felt old and slightly dirty, and while flying across the Atlantic, it's slightly nerve wracking to still see cigarette disposals in the bathroom and on the seats (reminding you just how old the plane is)! The boarding process was a bit crazed, we were put on buses in no particular priority order and dropped off at the plane to all board at the same time!"

Contras: "I asked the woman at the gate prior to boarding if there were electrical outlets on the plane. She looked it up and said, its an Airbus, yes they have outlets at each seat. I didn't worry too much about charging my devices at my layover because I knew I could charge them on the plane. When I got on it was clear that there was no outlets, no video on the backs of seats, no devices being handed out for purchase. Nothing. I'm definitely used to more updated planes, but I would have been ok without the misinformation. I ended up on a 4 hr flight bored out of my gourd—which could have been avoided."
Contras: "Going through immigration in Dallas is a disaster. The wait is eternal. None-US passengers seemed to get processed faster."
Contras: "Despite arriving more than an hour ahead of time, I had to wait in a long line to get to the ticket counter and by the time I got there the assistant refused to check my bag. I then had the choice of catching another flight standby, possibly not even arriving on the same day, or changing my ticket for an obscene amount of money. I hope to never deal with AA again."
Prós: "The service was okay, they were polite."
Contras: "The plane took forever to load, the plane departed late, although the captain still claimed we would make it 10 minutes early we did not. And to top it off, we waited on the tarmac to find a gate because we were late. Thanks American, I appreciate the reminder as to why I never fly your airline."

They Gate checked my bag, and didn't give me a ticket. I even told them that I'd prefer a ticket, in case something goes wrong, and they replied 'oh no worries, it'll be up in baggage claim". I looked him squarely in the eyes abs I said, OK I'll wing it, but I trust you! He said no worries."

Contras: "The older woman stewardess was rude. I tried to give her my papers and she ignored me. So I put them in the pocket and the man next to me saw what happened and she responded to him. Curt. The plane is old and no individual TV. The food choices were very limited. I felt like cattle rather than a relaxing flight. Flying use to be fun and exciting and part of a great trip. Now it is endured to get on a trip."
Prós: "I was upgraded to the comfort economy after waiting 10 hours at DFW for my flight."
Contras: "After being in DFW airport for 10hrs all I wanted to do was watch a movie on board and sleep. Go figure, my TV didn't work. I called the attendant and she said she would reset them. The "resetting process" took a while. She attempted, and the other stewardess did as well. They said that the TV issue that *some* of the people were experiencing wasn't able to be fixed by them and only by the company that provides it's service. So there wasn't anything that could be done. I know that at least the two guys that were traveling next to me had issues with the tv monitors as well. It was just driving it home that I will never fly on American Airlines again. I don't ask for much these days while flying, it's not like it's a luxury anymore. But the saddest part is that customer satisfaction is completely out of the question. Just pay the extra money and fly another airline. -Deidre Fugate"

Prós: "I did not like have to stay in a hotel room when I could be sleeping in my room I'm on medication I don't even have my medicine with me because American Airlines had engine trouble in Dallas we went back to the Terminal 3 times before they ever got it fixed slit throat me late getting into Seattle and I missed the flight to Yakima I don't feel that this was my fault I didn't nothing to delay the airplanes and I walked as fast as I could to the terminal on in Seattle so I didn't have such a pleasure to little trip but your airline get put me up in a hotel but it's still not does not change the fact I have my blood pressure medicine and about 10 other medications but my blood pressure is the biggest and I will think twice before I fly Alaska Airlines again"

Prós: "Pilot on return flight got us to our destination 30 minutes early (unfortunately there wasn't a gate for us to pull into so we waited 30 minutes on the Tarmac)."
Contras: "Departing flight was delayed over eleven hours because a flight attendant was ill. They actually had to fly in a flight attendant all the way from Texas to cover this Seattle to JFK flight! So our flight departed a whole day later and we missed a day of our vacation (we arrived at 7pm instead of 7am). I understand things happen but this was not weather related or a mechanical issue. This is simply poor personnel management. They should have a back-up plan if an employee falls ill. One that doesn't involve flying in an employee from another region of the country, let alone another state. The inefficiency continued on the return flight when it took a whole hour for the luggage to come out! Will avoid flying American again at any cost."
Prós: "Nothing...I had to be rerouted to Chicago to Seattle!"
Contras: "The fact that through no fault of my own, I arrived in Seattle much later than expected and my clients were not particularly happy with the delay."

Contras: "This was the worst day we have ever had flying. Spent 12 plus hours at the airport! Got on and off planes for 6 hours because of mechanical problems. 7 hours later they canceled the flight due to crew fatigue. The customer service was horrible plane was dirty it was an horrific experience. Alaska booked us with American Airlines. I will never travel American ever again. I'm considering using a different booking site. The experience was the worst I've ever had. Kayak Alaska and American are getting bad marks from me!!!!"
