Checked our carry on luggage for being "too heavy" in spite of the fact that it was the exact same luggage we carried on for the flight out which meets all necessary size restrictions. Boarding was very disorganized, no announcements were being made, flight attendants were simply holding up signs at chest level which were completely blocked by the crowd."

Contras: "I had one piece of hand carried bag from when I boarded on the DC to Dubai leg. On this Dubai to Manila leg I was shocked to discover that the ground crew wanted all hand carried items weighed, and I mean ALL including things like travel pillows and duty free items. I was made to pay $88 for excess weight on the exact same bag I had with me on the first leg. Worse, the (I'm guessing) head of the ground crew gave random exceptions (for example someone had a thick copy of the Koran and some other item that were not weighed). My excess weight probably weighed less than that book. Many passengers ended up returning purchased duty free items and some even abandoned their bags. Upon getting past the initial gate the passengers were ferried by BUS to the plane. The bus ride took forever and of course, in the heat of the Dubai sun, the passengers were made to climb stairs carrying their "overweight" bags to board the plain."

Contras: "1. I joined at Bangalore. The staff worked strictly according to the rules. While this is good it lends itself to passenger discomfort at times. Example: I had only 1 suitcase of 45 pounds, and I had a hand baggage of 13.7 kgs, because I was carrying all my precious crystalware back to Houston. The attendant kept insisting I lighten the hand baggage to les than 7 kgs. Finally he even suggested I send the hand baggage as checked luggage. He must be insane! I had a few thousand dollars worth of crystal in that hand bag and there was no way I'd send as checked luggage. Finally, I lightened the load to 10 kgs and called his manager and I was allowed to carry the hand luggage. 2. On landing at Dubai, everything unraveled. The airport was full of thousands of stranded passengers because 18 hours ago a plane had crash-landed at the tarmac causing flight cancellations. Obviously Emirates was poorly prepared for handling this this emergency. Many of the passengers, including myself, ended up standing at the customer service counters (there were about 10 customer service stations all over the airport), and every customer station had about 500 irate passengers and 3 or 4 agents handling them. Not only that, the customers were standing in stuffy atmosphere, no fod no water for hours, many mothers were desperate with children. Emirates had no idea how to handle this situation. I caught hold of a senior police official and told him that the least he could do was to give the customers some bottled water to keep them hydrated. Within minutes, in typical Arab hospitality - many cases of bottled water showed up, followed by cupcakes and then Mango Frootis. This helped to calm the passengers down. Then there was the chaos of everyone crowding the service desk. No lines, no semblance of order. After discussion with the policeman, we installed barriers for that passengers would stand single file. One thing that was very wrong and out of our control was there were only 3, sometimes 4, persons behind the desk, attending to more than 500 stranded passengers at each station. I reckon we would need at least 20 or 30 staff at each station. I noted that at each customer depot there were at least 10 computer stations at our service station, but only 3 were manned. Also, there was no one to advise the passengers on their status, what arrangements were being made, what the status update of the situation was...... nothing. We just stood in a bunch at the customer service desk and hoped for some attention. Appalling. Emirates needs to beef up their crisis management strategies. As a Crisis Manager myself, I was appalled to see how poor their capability to respond to a crisis situation was. I have many ideas based on my experience in crisis management. If you want suggestions call me. Besides this crisis, Emirates has always been a very good airline to me. Their everyday service is impeccable and a treat to experience. Prós: "There was a very long line at the check in counter on the way back. Many people were nervous about missing their flights. Apparently the counter computers were out of order and they only had 2 stations to support the passengers at a very busy time. Other than that, everything was smooth and pleasurable."

Contras: "I did not like that I was in a Swiss airport for more then 13 hrs and the company did not offer me a hotel for the night. Two I did not like that at the airport in zerik they don't take coins."

Prós: "There was a half hour delay due to some no-show passengers. The flight was delayed while their bags were removed. The problem was explained well. The flight crew seemed to made up for much of the delay by flying faster or more directly so the total flight time did not increase by 30 minutes. Fortunately this was our final flight segment so the delay was not a problem."

In this case it wasn't a loss because I noticed that they were showing cartoons, even though there were no children on board. The snack was a simple sandwich, a little smaller than the size of a hotdog bun. Supposedly it was an artesian Swiss sandwich, but I think they could have done better. Overall, I'm happy with Swiss Air, and would definitely fly with them again."

Suggest more time for transfer in the future or someone to guide passengers. We were nit the only ones. However, we did make it as did the others ( luggage too!)so kudos to swiss for waiting"

Prós: "My first time to fly edelweiss and it was a very good experience. The crew members of Edelweiss were very friendly and respectful. they offered drinks and the crew were smiley. The food was very good. The flight attendants offered more drinks during the flight."
Contras: "For a short person like me (4 feet 11 inches tall) the seats at Edelweiss aircraft are comfortable. My feet could touch the floor and rest - a big difference for short people like me."

Prós: "Our prior flight from Rome to Zurich departed 45 minutes late, so we expected our connecting flight from Zurich to Moscow would be missed. NOT SO! Many connecting flights were delayed for our passengers. This kind of thoughtfulness and professionism is greatly appreciated. Crew was fast, efficient and friendly. Service with beverages and food was immediate and non-stop. It was our first trip on SwissAir, and it will be our preferred airline in the future."

Contras: "Called ahead to book a special seat because of a back problem -- gave my credit card to the customer service agent, who assured me that all was in order, but when I arrived at the airport the day of the flight all information relating to this special reservation was gone...nowhere in the system. My complaints were met with nothing but rudeness by the Swiss Air employees at JFK. I then called Swiss Air, who confirmed that it was their error, but they told me that there was nothing that they could do, even when I asked if they cared that they were losing my business, they showed that they did not care at all. Never flying Swiss Air again."

The electric outlets at each of our first class seats were not functional, both the USB ports and the electric plugs did not work so we were not able to charge our phones during the flight. When I mentioned this to the flight attendant her response was that she had not received a report that the electric was not working. No other assistance was offered. There was very little legroom even though these were sold as first class seats. The plane was old and dirty, the armrests were sticky."

Contras: "We initially were put on a plane with defective air conditioning.... it took 90 minutes to finally decide to put us on another plane. The older planes have hardly any room under the seat in the isle seats."

Prós: "Crew was fantastic! Everything was satifactory and as expected."
Contras: "Flight was delayed from leaving the gate due to a fuel manifest needing to be signed. My baggage was really mauled ( by TSA or by Delta baggage handlers, I don't know). One zipper on a compartment was totally torn off. Another zipper was missing its pull and was difficult to open."

This was so rude and there is no way to get back into customs area. If we paid 200 for bags I expect them to arrive on time. I’m asking for a refund of the baggage fees."

Ground staff in Marseiile great but gate crew didn't control carry on baggage and many of us could not use overhead bins because of passengers who stowed more than one and often oversized suitcases above, so we and many others had to place carry on suitcases under seat. Attendant on plane totally unhelpful and could have rearranged a few bags to make room but preferred to stay in back of plane and talk. To be fair, rest of flight was pleasant although late due in part to boarding issues."

Contras: "We had booked business on our flight to Milan, and it was extremely disappointing that on this sector they put us on the last seat in the back of the plane. There were plent of seats on this flight that had extended legroom. A bit of a mystery, why Westjet elected to put usin the last seats on the plane?"

Contras: "Since we had two extra bags (paid for in Chicago), they demanded to see my receipt before we could board in Amsterdam to Nairobi. We had trouble locating the receipt and we were not given an explanation as to why we needed it again. We were traveling with 5 kids including an infant and we were not allowed to board until we found the receipt. I thought surely they would have record that I had paid, but I guess not. We were the last to board and all very stressed out. The staff seemed not to care the least in our troubles."

Prós: "Great food and movies."
Contras: "Might have lost my bag. I was told not to claim my bag and that it would meet me at my final destination. That did not happen. I even paid extra because of the over weight. When they charge you 100 extra euro you expect your bag to make it to its final destination."

If you have window seat, you have to cross passanger next to you (you don't need to on Swiss, Lufthansa or Cathay Pacific), there is very few privacy comparred to other airlines and my seat was just terrible for sleeping, did not go flat completely and was way less comfy for sleeping than with other airlines. Plane was an older 747. I will not flight long hault with KLM again."

Contras: "Staff just walked away while we were in line, the rudeness and mean attitude, they blamed us for being too late after ignoring us and made us late, they didn't offer an alternative flight until we asked. Overall, horrible customer service. Never been treated so rudely by people in the airlines industry in my entire 42 years of flying!"

Contras: "I did not like the food. Also I do not eat meat so I was no given a non meat option I was just told to eat everything except the meat. I was also not a fan of the snacks in between. There was a spread some olives and then a spinach pie and they were cold and not appetizing. Next my luggage did not make it to ATL with me it stayed in Dublin and I ended up not getting it until 2 days later. Next the bathrooms became very dirty towards the end of the trip so it made it quite unpleasant to have to go to the restroom."

Contras: "I struggled to check in online line not user friendly site And then I went to the airport early and stood in a question for 1h50min to check in and they where difficult with because my bag was exactly 24kg and asked me to remove something I have flown oven over 50times I my life and this would be the firest and last time with air France"

Prós: "The in-flight meal was very good. The flight was much quicker then I expected, but there a lot of turbulence for much of the flight. Most of the flight attendants were very nice."
Contras: "We were put in the last row of seats, which don't recline, though the row in front of you reclines into you and you are trapped. One of the flight attendants was rude when we were trying to deal with our child who had vomited. CDG (Charles DeGaulle airport) is poorly laid out and poorly run, in my opinion, starting with the landing of our flight. After waiting over a half an hour after landing to de-board, we were given much information In trying to get to the proper places to check certain baggage items, and we walked up and down and around a whole terminal trying to get to the proper gait. This is not the first time I've had a bad experience at this airport. Thankfully, the flight itself after that horrendous experience was good."

Prós: "Codeshare flight. operated by Flybe. Got the job done with no fuss. This was a business booking, and I had a snack and drinks voucher included. I used these to get some tomato juice, which was good and a snack box, which contained a small piece of yoghurt bar, crackers, cheese, some nuts, dried fruit, a single mentos, and something else I can't remember. It was alright."
Contras: "The food and drink voucher system was a source of confusion for a number of other customers, including a pair who had booked through the same agency, but one seemed to get a voucher and the other did not. I realise that this is not the fault of the crew, but Flybe should ensure that their agents are clearer with what bookings include."

Prós: "Out of the 4 Air France/Delta flights I boarded over 21 days, this was the the only leg where row-range-wise boarding was done! Thank goodness. Entertainment options were awesome; latest movies, shows, documentaries, etc. Food options for AVML were good and plentiful. Flavors and temperature were just right. Staff was courteous."
Contras: "Seats need an extra layer of cushioning at the very least... very painful to sit in those for so many hours. Extra space would be great - but that is nearly impossible to achieve. Headphones provided should be upgraded a bit... earphones with better plugs would be a good option."

Contras: "I needed to change my flight and they refused blaming you so I won't be booking through u again"
