If I book with Lufthansa, then I can't book my United seats. I have booked with United and paid for economy plus, then find as I board, the Lufthansa flight doesn't have economy plus."

They shut down the airport in Frankfurt so we couldn't take off at our destination and when they allowed us to fly into Frankfurt, Lufthansa didn't wait and hundreds of people were stranded from different areas because of the closed airport to all flights. We waited 5 hours to rebook a destination back to the USA and traveling lasted 24hours. Right now I'm not sure if I'll be refunded my tickets for thedomestic airline flight. WE will NEVER want to fly out of Frankfurt and especially with Lufthansa. I have to say the people at the service counters were very nice and helpful but it took 5 hours to get serviced and were missed 2 possible connecting flights. Lufthansa was a good airline but that was 20 years ago. The airport is too big now has too many delays so I'll avoid it at all cost."

I appreciated that there were pillows, blankets, and headphones readily available as well. I'll try to fly Lufthansa every chance I get when flying internationally."

On my short flight from Basel to Amsterdam, a young French speaking girl was concerned about how to manage getting to her next gate. The flight attendants talked to her and arranged for someone to take her there. On my longer flight from Amsterdam to New York City, there was a customer who was in distress about missing a previous flight and not making it to her connecting flight in New York. One of the flight attendants reassured her until she stopped crying and calmed down. That same flight attendant was always so positive and cheerful in all she did. The rest of the crew was top notch. This was my best experience flying in such a long time. Well done, KLM crews of flights 1984 and 0645 on July 10!"

I will follow this up with KLM when I go home from my holiday."

KLM blamed the fog at Manchester but to be honest most other flights seemed unaffected. Put up in an IBIS hotel and fed substandard food and shitty hotel room with an Aircon unit that clunks into action every 30 seconds keeping me awake. It's external so I can't switch it off. Being given a 10 Euro voucher for food at the airport when most food and a drink will cost you 12 to 15 euros."

Contras: "Dear Sir or Madam: My two colleagues and I bought our tickets from BWI to Geneva, via London Heathrow, through Kayak as I have many times in the past. However, the Kiwi.com travel agency did not flag that the ticket from BWI to London Heathrow allowed for one piece of checked luggage, but the ticket from London Heathrow onwards to Geneva did not allow for any checked luggage. Also astonishingly, we had to pass through Customs, reclaim our checked suitcases from the baggage carousel, and check in again through Customs to board the onward flight, both coming and going through London Heathrow. In addition to the extraordinary inconvenience that we could neither transit at London Heathrow to our connecting flight without going through Customs twice and that we could not check our luggage through to our final destination, we also had to foot a higher baggage charge to allow for checking in our suitcases, now that we had arrived in London Heathrow only to discover this that our onward ticket did not cover one piece of checked luggage. Had we known that the seemingly better price posted by Kiwi.com on Kayak’s comparative offerings came at such a high price of inconvenience and additional expense for the luggage, we would have taken our business elsewhere. It was deceptive of Kiwi.com to engage in such practices, even if it disclosed these conditions in fine print (for no one would expect, nor have I ever seen previously in the hundreds of flights I have taken as a Million Miler on United), without flagging this. And similarly, it was irresponsible of Kayak.com to allow this “apples with oranges” comparison on its website. I’m making three more international trips in December, but I’m inclined not to use either Kayak.com and most certainly not Kiwi.com for future airline ticket purchases."

No water supply for hot beverages, wash hands or brush teeth during eight hour international flight, not given special diet meal requested as crew unable to locate it, Entertainment monitor not working or housed in seat back correctly to adjust angle, remote handset buttons barely working to watch or make selections, unable to call cabin crew who did not visit through cabin for approximately two and half hours as ‘assumed most passengers were sleeping’, no wine choice only Sauvignon blanc and I wanted Chardonnay so had nothing. Breakfast ‘special diet request’ meal was cold hard bagel with colourful lump of cream cheese, which seemed to be what everyone else had. No orange juice, grapefruit that can’t take medication with, so had nothing to drink except allotted splash of water into small paper cup. Dreadful journey"

Boarding was extremely slow, in part because gate personnel made no effort whatsoever to police and enforce the four-group boarding process (premium - no carry-on - group A - group B). People boarded whenever they felt like it, many carrying on huge backpacks and multiple other pieces. Will definitely avoid TAP in future."

Contras: "I use Air PORTUGAL twice a year. I can’t understand why they took our three trolley to put them in the baggage hold while they have enough space inside the plane. I would like to tell you that food is always awful in TAP AIR PORTUGAL flying from Dakar/Lisboa/Dakar. No respect for the passengers."

Contras: "Really long line at the airport even though virtually everybody does check-in ahead on internet. Found it unpleasant and stressful to estimate luggage weight and pay for checked baggage online due to heavy $ penalty if you wait until you get to the airport. I believe this is done so that they don't have to staff the airport check-in desks more adequately. Seats were not comfortable (not much cushion) and leg room was tight."

Contras: "Took my carry on onto the plane, it barely didn't fit in the overhead, I was told it would go under the plane. The bag was never put on the plane, and therefore I had to ski the next day in my jeans and utilize only what I had on my person in a new place I'd never been. Of all the times to lose a bag, you'd hope it wouldn't be on a 3 day trip deep in the mountains of Austria when you're by yourself. How could you take a small bag from inside the plane and then not put it underneath the plane minutes before take off? Horrendous."
Prós: "The crew and food were very nice. Unfortunately, getting from Point A to Point B was a struggle."
Contras: "They didn't leave enough time for connecting flights (we touched down at the same time my connecting flight was boarding), and screwed over a lot of passengers by last-minute not sending their luggage to the connecting flight. I lost my luggage and still haven't found it."
Prós: "Delayed for two hours, that's ok but not being able to locate the luggage is a great discomfort and stress"
Prós: "Crew management of the situation, reserved a hotel with a breakfast for the whole passengers. that was nice but still .!!!"
Contras: "Flight delayed for more than 1 hour first, then we boarded late, then they asked us to get down the flight (because of weather problems) we ended up in a hotel sleeping unitl the day after (12 hours overall)"
Prós: "My husband and I are both tall people, over 6 feet and this was the smallest most uncomfortable seats we have ever been in. We were put in the very last seat and couldn't even fit our legs in. Then when the person in front of me tried to put his seat back I was in so much pain I had to ask him to move it back up. They also wanted to charge us $120 for a bag when our flight was only $100, which was ridiculous! Thankfully the staff was nice enough to waive that fee for us."
Prós: "When we arrived at the airport and went to the counter of Air Berlin turned out that the card is returned not including luggage. The flight from Tel Aviv to Berlin included a suitcase but not from Berlin to Tel Aviv. We paid 120 euros for luggage, although we have not seen an invitation not have paid everything in advance. No one tried to help us, and to explain and attitude was cold and arrogant."
Contras: "Caused damaged to my luggage and I reported and sent all the documents needed. It's been two weeks and the company still hasn't contacted me."

Prós: "AirBerlin has always been a lovely little airline. Wonderful crew and pilots all around. A bit more expensive than the low cost carriers, but better flight times and a normal flight experience (or what used to be normal) was their forte."
Contras: "What I don't like. They don't know what they want to be. Not the crew or pilots, the executives. In September AirBerlin changed their policy of serving 'free' food on flights. I understand that they are competing with the Low Cost carriers (especially as O'Leary has set his sights squarely on AirBerlin), but charging flights that cost more than double of a low cost, yet offering the same experience of a low cost is a sure way to lose customers. Case and point: Flight to Vienna, we were offered complimentary sandwiches and drinks. Return flight, they charged for drinks and food. Which is it, AirBerlin? Either do complimentary food and drinks and keep your customers or keep you fares the same, charge for drinks and food and lose customers. But doing both with no rhyme or reason shows that those in charge do not understand their business."
Prós: "Never did I feel that I was being mobbed at the check in this way before . The guy pretended to help but instead only was doing things harder for every body. He was asking to repack for unclear reason. Forcing people to open their suitcases on the counter to move one item from one bag to the other. Charging for a back pack the size of a personal handbag. Then on board water is 3 euro for a small bottle. Only toilet paper was for free . never again !!!"
Contras: "The landing. The pilot left a dent on the runway."
Prós: "The amount of care from the crew was enough to give 5 stars, but there was also good choices of movies to watch, and no troubles while boarding."
Contras: "The seats can be a little small for someone who is 6'4, but that is my burden to bear. It was a little hard to check in online prior to getting to the airport."
Prós: "Plane was clean and comfortable. Service was pleasant. Waiting area was also comfortable and signage was good. Check in was simple."

Contras: "The rules on luggage are very hard to find and punitive if you violate them. We had to pay 60 Euro to check a bag. However if we had chosen to do so when we booked it would have been 30. You can't do this when you check in online when you likely know what you will be taking. Service desk is sympathetic because many make mistake."

Prós: "Very prompt and curtious staff. The flight was smooth and I was seated in an exit row, so there was plenty of room."
Contras: "We had to check baggage last minute and it was very expensive, but we could have purchased tickets with baggage, so just be aware if you have luggage to purchase in advance. Also, only 8 kilos allowed as carry-on, mine was small enough but too heavy... :( Boarding in TXL was crowded with other flights leaving in the same area, but we got on with no problems."
