I can't remember the last time I flew on a transatlantic fight with no entertainment- nearly 20 years ago I'm sure. Airplane food is never great, but food options were worse than normal. American Airlines customer service at JFK was horrendous, resulting in several passengers missing their flight. (I was there if 4 hours to spare, but had to wait 1hr+ to have my birthdate changed in the system.)"

Contras: "They gave us ipads to watch movies, which were old and didn't work well, but were difficult to hold if you also got a tray or a drink. They didn't give you much water and it was hard to get service. The airplane itself looked pretty old and a little run-down."

Prós: "I like the Airbus A330 model's that AA flies from Charlotte on European destinations. They are the former USAir A330's and they are nice both in business and economy. There are no premium economy seats on this version. And Charlotte is an excellent airport to fly from/to."

Prós: "It was an Iberia flight, sold by Finnair. Pretty full but I had two seats by window to myself. I really liked the personal entertainment system at each seat, with lots of choices for viewing and listening, plus usb port for charming my phone. Food was not bad for economy class airplane food. Crew was efficient."

Because I purchased it through Kayak instead of directly through Finnair or American Airlines, their 'hands were tied' and they could not reroute nor reschedule me. Not only that, but because I was not on the flight to Paris, my returning flights were automatically cancelled. While this is probably included in the fine print etc., I find it ridiculous. There should be a better alternative for people who miss their flights than forcing them to pay a lump sum that is higher than the original ticket price in order to reschedule their ticket. Moral of the story: BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU BUY THROUGH KAYAK OR SIMILAR AGENCIES, BECAUSE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ATROCIOUS."

My first flight was with American Airlines, they gave me a boarding pass, however for my leg with British Airways, I had to go get ANOTHER boarding pass to board the flight. This airline was very inconvenient and I felt scammed booking with them. I would not recommend this airline to anyone!"

Contras: "It took a long time to board the plane and there was literally no line at the boarding gate. When I mean there was no line, its not that there were no people, its that we stood grouped together, because there was not enough space for everyone, so no line could form. So people simply cut in front of each other and there was quite a bit of anger and tension.Once we were on board, and seated, they came through and provided a meal. However after about 3 hours, I wanted to get some water to take medicine and I pushed the call light to get the flight attendant to come over and it was literally 45 minutes before anyone came into the economy portion. All of the flight attendants were either in first class, or hiding somewhere else. As one point 5 call lights were on and no one came. My wife got up and started looking for someone and finally I got water to take my pills. Almost an hour after I hit the call button. When the flight attendant came, I asked her if it was possible to purchase a soda, crackers, or anything as my blood sugar was low. She said there is nothing available for purchase, and did not offer anything. The only help I received was from a fellow passenger who offered a candy bar. I can not believe that there was nothing the attendant could offer me. I was willing to pay 10 euros for a soda, and they still said no. That is unacceptable."

We arrived on-time, went through the line and were then placed in a standing room only area to stand and wait for another 45 minutes before boarding. We were placed near the entrance (I thought to board early as a family) but were later told to join another line when we asked why we sere just standing and waiting while other passengers were walking past us. The communication between staff and between your staff and passengers was poor."

I get to the airport with my 2 bags ready, TAP tells me on large holidays, they only allow 1 bag to be checked to my specific African destination until January 11. And that one bag will cost me $120. They will not let me have the second one. Who does that? How much sense is this supposed to have. I checked with others and they do not do that. That rule rule is unfair and racist. Now that I am back, I have a bag missing. Wow!"

Como é precisa reservar espaço para a cadeira de rodas, eles alteraram os assentos do meu sogro, e com isso ele sentaria sozinho numa poltrona sem possibilidade de mobilidade para ele, trocaram o assento da minha sogra mas para o local onde meu sogro não consegui sair para ir ao banheiro, ele chegou a se molhar um pouco pois não pode ir ao banheiro. O voo atrasou e passamos por várias turbulências, cheguei a enjoar."

Prós: "airlines could have mentioned that the second leg would require going thru security again and would take a very long time and that I should do this immediately after disembarking even though a gate had not yet been assigned. As A consequence of an intensive interview process before boarding the international leg of the trip (initially only two reps processing everyone on the plane for a few minutes each) the plane left the gate late. It also lost another 15 -20 minutes in flight making it 30 minutes late and I missed my connection in Miami necessitating me to spend a night in a motel and finish my flight the next day."

Prós: "Everything went according to the timetable, boarding was on-time and we even arrived a bit earlier than scheduled, so I can't really fault the service of the pilots, the cabin crew or the ground operations team. Food wasn't exactly stellar, but clearly a lot better than on most European flights operated by larger companies (Lufthansa, KLM, Air France etc.). The aircraft itself was clean and looked fairly new and well maintained"
Contras: "The seating was absolutely HORRENDOUS. Even though I'm nearly 6'3" (close to 1.90m), I generally never complain about seating space or legroom, even on low cost flights. This particular TAP aircraft, however, despite looking quite new, had some of the most cramped seating ever. Additionally, the trays were minuscule (you could barely place the entire food tray the service during the flight, let alone have another drink at the same time on the tray). Also, on the inbound flight (this was the return one), the seats were fitted with a very simple and clever tablet-holding mechanism, so you could easily watch something on your table while eating your food (from a similarly small tray table). The seat back pockets do not have any material/fabric on the sides, so stored items could easily slip out sideways from the pocket. Shame to have such a good in flight service and to be a punctual airline if you're going to carry your passengers cramped like cattle in seats 'rivalling' the ones on Ryanair flights on 4-hour long journeys."

Contras: "I had to pay to check the first piece of luggage 85€ one way. I was not inform of that when I bough the ticket and I could have chosen a different airline If I had considered that expense. The first piece used to be free intercontinental flights but now it varies depending on the company. I find difficult to find this information when buying and it makes a great difference in the final price you pay. I found strange flight attendants having a very loud conversation in a very quiet flight where most of the people were sleeping."

We were traveling with our three and six year old and started with a weather delay and then eventually a cancellation. We stood at the Barcelona airport from 7pm until 2:30am with our children. Nobody offered us food vouchers, taxi or hotel. We had to ask and only got a hotel which was an hour away and taxi on us costing us over $100 euro! Everything closed and our children ate cookies from a vending machine for dinner. Finally we got to our hotel after 3am and slept until 6:30am to catch another taxi on us back to the airport just to find out it’s delayed and we would miss our connection in Madrid back to Miami. We arrived the airport again at 9am and at 3pm we’re finally given food vouchers for our hungry children to eat something. American Airlines has a direct flight from Barcelona to Miami but they insisted they couldn’t do that for us and we’d again stay another night in Barcelona at a hotel. This would all be fine if we weren’t traveling with small children, they didn’t have school and we didn’t have to work and had extra money to pay for all the inconveniences. This was by far the worst experience we’ve had and will never choose Tap again for our travels!"

Prós: "The flight itself was smooth and the crew kept passengers well informed. Beyond that, not much to report it serviced as a mode of transportation but not an experience."
Contras: "The seats were super cramped, hardly any leg room or elbow room which made it quite difficult to get comfortable for any length of time. The food was unpleasant. The flight attendants seemed very green."
Prós: "On our longer flight, we were thrilled- nice crew, delicious food, spacious, great pilot, and enjoyable entertainment experience. However, on our shorter flight from Brussels to telaviv, not only was the crew completely inattentive, but they were intentive to some very disturbing things including children who were pulling the hair of other customers and jumping up-and-down in the aisles of the airplane. There was no available entertainment whatsoever. In addition the food was extremely expensive and not particularly tasty. The plane was uncomfortable and smelled atrocious. These 2 vastly different experiences almost made me feel like I was taking 2 different airlines. Please keep consistency."
Contras: "I didn't like the inconsistency of the 2 different planes that I was on. If you are going to have entertainment you should have some form of it on all of your airplanes. The idea that food that you need to buy is so expensive is absurd. I was really blown away by how badly the plane smelled. It was almost as if I was in a bathroom. And on top of that I really felt very unsafe with children jumping up-and-down kicking people pulling their hair etc. While it isn't the job of the flight attendants to be parents, they certainly need to be aware of safety concerns for the rest of the passengers."

Prós: "Due to horrendous traffic we got to the airport after check-in but before the plane took off, but they would not let us board and would not allow us to transfer tickets for even any fee. They will not let us use our return tickets either. Is this how you do business? I'm totally disheartened and disgusted by the lack of customer service or even care."
Contras: "We missed.our flight and no one would work with us to reschedule or refund even a partial refund. We missed out flight due to terrible traffic and now we are out $2500 this is terrible."

The entire food service was served in this time so no food was available for the 6 hour flight to Accra. Had we been able to wait in the terminal, passengers could get their own food and the food for the flight could have been saved. Also, they ran out of chicken dishes by the time I was served and I was left with fish only. Had I been a vegetarian, this would have been unacceptable."

When I came (BRU), they told me to wait in 3 different lines, wasting 30 minutes, before I got to the correct line. Then board the flight to return was a 45 minute delay. It's like these guys were totally new to the airline business."
Contras: "Rows are very close together. We were packed in like sardines. Stewardesses prevent people from going to the toilets in the back when they are serving, and do not allow access to the toilet in the front. Not "user-friendly"."

Contras: "The connecting flight was an hour late. We set inside the plane all this time while the crew could not decide what to do with luggage of a passenger who never showed up. The luggage was being removed and put back -and repeat several more time of the same- for a bit more than an hour. When we finally took off, there was an unpleasant surprise - we had to purchase our food. I had never had this experience before that we would not be offered food on a connecting flight and obviously was not prepared. Not only there was not food, or even a tiny snack offered, one had to buy mere water. Overall, very disappointed. BTW, our flight was not even on display anywhere at the Brussels airport, wrong gates were shown in our tickets and we almost missed boarding..."

Split airport is terribly over crowded and uncomfortable without adequate space to sit, bathrooms to service the amount of people, AC to handle the heat load with the number of people, etc. That being said, the check in, security, and gate people are professional and very pleasant."

Contras: "We bought the ticket with 1.5hrs connection in Stockholm and the experience was very bad. First bad surprise was on the ticket price. The ticket price on the beginning was good, but after adding only one check-in bag (normal for international flights) and selecting seats and meal the price went up by another $140. Then on the day of the flight we got a message that our first flight was delayed by more then 2 hrs. We called to Norwegian and asked for solution, but were told that the next flight available is 1 WEEK LATER! and we can or stay in Stockholm for a week on our own or to get refund for the ticket. Finally we found alternative flight for the same price and cancelled the ticket."

Contras: "Overcharged on luggage because I had 10.5 kg of carryon luggage instead of 10kg. The flight was virtually empty and so much space and still can’t understand why I had to pay usd 130 for 0.5kg over the 10kg. Felt exploited and cheated"

This guy gave an awful representation of your airline. People get delayed these things happen he wasnt one bit nice about it and I was very unhappy how I was treated"
Contras: "On Monday September 11th I flew from Stockholm Arlanda to JFK on Norwegian flight DY7005. I was seated in 3J in the premium cabin. The couple in front of me began drinking excessively as soon as the aircraft reached cruising altitude. They were served by a flight attendant (who I then found out was the crew supervisor) called Vinnie, who served them doubles of vodka, cognac and bailey's, smiling and laughing with the passengers and giving them high fives. About 4 hours into the flight, the passenger in seat 2J turned around in his seat and began to harrass me. He claimed that we had friends in common and worked in the same industry and that we should work together. I remained polite and indicated that now was probably not the best time but that we should discuss it at a later date. Please note that I had never seen this man before in my life. I was working on my computer and put my headphones back on. He then began to shout and swear at me, saying that I disrespected him, I assume by not engaging him in conversation. He threatened me and at one point tried to swing at me from his seat. His partner then tried to calm him down. A flight attendant that was passing at the time (middle aged black woman) said something to the effect of "I don't know if YOU GUYS are from New York but you all need to calm down", somehow assuming that I was in collusion with this other passenger. I said to the lady "miss I don't know this man" but she ignored me and kept on walking. After this initial incident and seeing that the in flight staff were not interested in addressing this man's behavior, I put on my headphones and sunglasses and pretended to sleep. I could hear him issuing threats and swearing loudly. This went on for about 30 to 45 minutes (I was listening to a podcast and could hear him over the commentary) and then he again turned around in his seat and tried to touch me. At this point I panicked and grabbed my items and headed for the galley. I noticed that the lady in the seat next to me had vacated her seat and was having a concerned conversation with one of the flight attendants. I asked for the purser and a younger black fight attendant told me that "he was resting". I told her to get him and she turned to her counterpart and said "he's pissed off" as if I was over reacting to some sort of minor situation. The purser (Vinnie, who had been serving up doubles and high fives) arrived and told me that it was unlimited drinks in the premium cabin and there was nothing that he could do about that, and that they had cut him off after he started antagonizing me. I asked why it was that he would knowingly supply a passenger with over ten drinks, jeopardizing the wellbeing of other passengers, and he again responded that it was unlimited drinks in the premium cabin. The younger female flight attendant then told me that the cops would be waiting for the passenger on arrival - when in fact, the port police department was never notified, nor was the Norwegian"

Since my tours and accommodations were already booked I had to cancel my Norwegian flight and rebook a new last minute flight at much greater cost. Norwegian gave no reason for the delay and insufficient service on getting me to my final destination,"

They didn't give us our boarding pass, we missed our flight, they made us purchase a completely different route for an outrages price, or new flight was delayed for 3 hours, they made us miss all of our connecting flights, they didn't have new boarding passes ready when we arrived late, they made us go through customs and re-check-in just to get on a connecting flight, they charged our card without or consent, and they charged us an international fee even we made all our purchases online. Stay clear!!!"

Prós: "Staff was young and nice. The plane was smaller than most international flights so it was not an uncomfortable flight. There were almost no line for the bathroom."
Contras: "My fiancé and I paid for meals and things were highly unorganized during the flight. The flight attendants were going through aisles asking everyone if they ordered a meal, and serving them after by checking a paper list. So we got our first meal and weren't even offered our second meal. I thought that the second meal might had been an option while on the plane. We landed hungry and bought food during our layover, which is when I found out through my sister that the second meal was included in our meal plan (she was sitting in another row). Also, our flight was delayed and we weren't receiving any notifications, updates or explanation why. It was not until 5 minutes prior to boarding that the agents told everybody that we will be able to board soon."
Contras: "My 2 year old having to sleep on the seats in the JFK airport. While we wait to see if anyone will help us. Paid for a ticket to Madris Spain, had to connect from PHX, they were having issues so i called in to NWA asking what my options were hours before the flight. The rep told me to call back the next day. I called back once stranded at JFK and the next representative says, because i didnt call prior to 30 minutes before my check in time she statez the pre ious representative notated she advised me. I assure you if she did I would have simply rescheduled for the next flight. The rep goes on to tell me, no, they will not put us on stand by and (her monotone and bluntness and lack of empathy for me flooding money and being stranded was appalling. I am on limited funds with a baby, they dont care that i will be out of thousands of non refundable charges. They don't care that my return flight home is booked from Spain. Not JFK. We are completely screwed here."
