Shortly after take-off, our calm and comfortable more or less empty section of the aircraft was colonised by an extended family of Orthodox Jews in a kind of airborne West Bank situation. They weren’t in our section of the cabin at all to start with, and I don’t know why they were apparently able to get a free upgrade that I had to pay £100 for. We went from being in an almost empty cabin to being basically sat in the middle of an Orthodox Jewish kindergarten. It was awful! They were noisy, messy, were constantly getting in and out of their seats, the back of my seat kept getting kicked, and there was even a baby crawling around the aisle. We were surrounded. I have no idea whether this is characteristic of Orthodox Jewish family life, or just a completely inconsiderate family. They didn’t exactly ruin my flight, but they didn’t make it enjoyable either. I asked to be moved. The cabin crew were great and acknowledged the difficulty of the situation. My wife lost her window seat but at least we still had the legroom and peace and quiet."

My bag was supposed to be directly shipped to PDX. I had to leave my hotel back to the airport and spend 2 hours trying to find it only to be told that it was going to PDX. I lost my $170 hotel room, over $70 for taxis and ended up spending the night on the floor at Schipol. I do not think I'll ever use Kayak again. The travel guarantee is a joke too."
Contras: "flights all on Delta - about one a week for 3 months straight - and yet when Delta cancelled my flight and re-booked they did not give me any upgrade or loyalty as I saw it - I had paid extra for Delta Comfort and they told me the flight they re-booked me on simply did not have any comfort available. However, I was not the one canceling the flight and re-booking - that is their problem and after so much loyalty for years I feel like I should have gotten some kind of upgrade for free...If I have to cancel - I have to pay fees - but if they cancel - I lose ...despite being a very loyal SkyMiles customer. I am quite disillusioned with Delta now and will have to look around to see what other airlines there are now - and my entire family - and what kind of loyalty they give to their loyal customers. It needs to be a two-way"

Her flight from Amsterdam to New York today operated by KLM, was delayed by few minutes. And Delta flight from JFK to Cleveland DL4084 was preponed by airlines. Result was my daughter was not allowed to board the aircraft. Worst was yet to come. Your staff at the gate offered her a flight to Cleveland for next day at 3:30 pm??? Means around 24 hours later. Is this how you behave with a girl of 19 years, asking her to stay at the airport. She was refused Hotel and Lounge stay by your team!!! Is this what you call customer services??? Obscene services is what I would like to term it as!!! My daughter asked them to give this is writing, which was refused to her. Why are your people scared to put it in writing if everything that you are doing is right by the Law??? I was left with no other option but to book her on American Airlines flight today departing at 9 pm to ensure that little girl doesn’t have to spend close to 24 hours at airport by paying $423. Who is going to bear the loss of money and mental torture that your team has given to me and my daughter???? A surprise for us was being asked if we would like to move seats from the back of the aircraft to Comfort Economy (we think it was to do with weight balance! but appreciated very much none the less). The flight attendants were very professional and helpful, as you would hope all attendants on all airlines would be. We'd gladly fly Delta again anytime."

Contras: "Webjet.com and me are waiting to get my flight changed by British Airways. I tried to change my flight because of paperwork issues. I was not given any paper to report the issue. I took pictures of myself at the British Airways counter. I called customer service. They told me my contract was with webjet.com. Webjet.com told me British Airways initially reported that it was a no show. (I was at the counter for about 2 hours, and they knew I had a contract with webjet.com). I hope that my contract with webjet.com does not become frustrated because of British Airways interference. I was not even allowed to change my flight to come back at the end of September. It is very likely that British Airways has some part of the money paid to webjet.com. I am still waiting for British Airways to cooperate. I don't understand why webjet.com had to tell me British Airways initially reported my long wait and conversations with their agents for 2 hours as a no show. I can prove I was there and that I talked to their agents. I also have the email from webjet.com in which they told me British Airways was reporting it to the webjet.com as a no show (and they knew I had a contract with webjet.com)"
Contras: "Takes too long to go through security in Lisbon. Several passengers were left behind. Having to pay for even a glass of water is not acceptable. BA has gone from one of my favorites to just average."

We were given a hotel room but the promised meal vouchers did not come through and BA would not answer the phone calls of the hotel staff to verify meal money. Missed a whole day of our vacation as we could not reschedule our connection until 24 hrs late. After the long wait the first day to be told what was going on, with much anxiety, on the second day there was also a delay boarding. Although it was short, of course everyone was on edge. And BA did not tell us what was happening!!"

Worst part was that I had my elderly parents with me and I had to continuously make changes because of the flight delays, which put all of us in extreme stress! Made me sick to my stomach of how unprofessional BA staff were when it came to accommodating us due to their delays."

Contras: "Do not like the process of boarding by group number. Another way of squeezing money out of the consumer. Also causes chaos when trying to board. Seats too narrow in economy especially if your broad shouldered."
Contras: "Everything. My booking confirmation was with United Airlines only to get to the airport to find that they had subcontracted the flight to a budget airline. Eurowings. The food very substandard. If you were on a basic ticket, you were only entitled to water and no food. So people are travelling on long haul flights without being offered anything as standard. Passengers on these tickets were not aware that they would not be served.any food which is probably unethical. They offer to sell you food if on a basic ticket"

Prós: "After United lost our luggage in Houston we had to file a claim in Auckland which meant we missed our flight to Wellington. Ground crew were super helpful and got us on the next flight 30 mins later. Cabin crew were great and sorted us out with water and snacks before take off as could tell we were desperate after flying in from London via Houston."

Contras: "1. The flights within the US and Canada was delayed. 2. The United Airline staff in San Francisco told me to pick up my luggage when I get to Seattle despite of the fact that my final destination was Vancouver. I questioned the staff about this ata this seemed odd, but he insisted that I pick up my luggage in Seattle. Upon arrival to Seattle I went to the baggage claim area to find out that my luggage was already put through to the connecting airline to Vancouver. This resulted in me having to go through a long line of passengers to do all of the security checks again to enter the international airport gates. This almost resulted in me missing my connecting flight to Vancouver. The only saving grace was that the flight was delayed by another hour. 3. Changes made on my connecting flights were only given to me during my check in at Auckland. My previous booking was Auckland -San Francisco - Portland - Vancouver. The boarding pass I was given in Auckland omitted Portland and was changed to Seattle. I was never informed about this by United Airlines. 4. United Airlines website NOT allowing me to log in using my e-mail."
Prós: "No complaints here! The Air New Zealand staff were amazing. They did their jobs really well! They made everyone comfortable during the trip."
