Took 1 hr to drop a bag. Got through security line and told my boarding pass is no good. 30 min before flight. Back to Swiss. Have a meltdown and finally they help. Now I’m in Geneva and my bags in Zurich..."

Contras: "Flight from Zurich to Johannesburg: Swiss 288 (airbus a340-300) Sat in the last row of the Swiss air flight, economy, which was okay but our whole row video enternatinment system didn’t work. You’d pick a movie and it wouldn’t play. The games, camera and flight status animation all worked but not the movies. Air hostess tried resetting , still nothing. But it was a great opportunity to have a lovely conversation with my new German Friend Barbara and read my book! More lactose intolerant alternatives for breakfast which had much (cheese, yogurt, croissant) Other than those two , excellent flight. Thank you Swiss!"

Prós: "Swiss Air is very nice, planes are clean, snacks on board were fantastic!"
Contras: "Why the ridiculous amount of money to check a small bag? For this reason, I would not fly Swiss Air. My fancy sandwich was not worth CHF 50."

Prós: "The crew fed us well throughout the flight--and we got free wine with dinner. The food was pretty good for airplane food. We got fresh dinner rolls, salad, dessert, and Swiss cheese. We got ice cream part way through the trip. I loved that we got a piece of Swiss chocolate on each leg of the journey. The crew was friendly. There was a screen at each seat where you could watch movies or TV, listen to music, or track your flight. The entertainment was free, and the crew provided free earphones. Blankets and pillows were provided."
Contras: "Like most planes, there was not enough leg room. It makes it pretty uncomfortable for an 11-1/2 hour flight. The boarding was a little confusing, but no serious issues."

Contras: "There’s never overhead space for carryon. Ever since they went to lift, I have had to put my luggage in a row near the rear, making me wait until the plane almost complete Disembarks before able to get the bag."

Prós: "The food,crew and flight were flawless. Our flight scheduling had us connecting within a thirty minute period in zurich and we had to run to catch the flight. Probably would have missed the connection if our 26 year old son didn't run ahead. Too much drama and no one from swiss air to help. Suggest more time for transfer in the future or someone to guide passengers. We were nit the only ones. However, we did make it as did the others ( luggage too!)so kudos to swiss for waiting"

It looks more like the crew was trying to hide their incompetence. This delay prevented me from catching my connection in Calgary. Needless to say, Westjet refused to take their responsibilities."

Well, it was very hot in Phoenix so we had the AC jacked up. But at 35,000 feet that's no longer a problem, right? Neither is is necessary in 68-degree F Calgary."

Contras: "Delays in boarding. Gate staff were on the PA for directions and were drowned out by the airport PA. No effort to clarify and re-announce so all passengers were confused when to board"

Contras: "The flight was delayed for over 2 hours without explanation or apology. The entertainment system did not work on my computer. Either the system was not working properly and/or the troubleshooting instructions were incorrect. This was a five hour flight with no entertainment, in a cramped seat."

Prós: "Flight only took about 2&1/2 hours! Crew was humorous and very sweet. Got in early thank goodness or May have missed connection. Our baggage was checked through to the final destination which was great. No problems with reservations or baggage."
Contras: "Boarding seemed painfully slow. Download the WestJet app in advance if you like to watch movies or TV shows on your mobile device! I had a very tight connection to next flight and had to make it through immigration and to a far-away gate in leas than one hour. To make it worse we had to wait about 10 minutes for a customs agent to arrive so they could begin unloading the luggage and let us go through customs."

Contras: "We are computer savvy but wasted an hour following instructions to see a movie. It just circulated around frustrating us. Didn’t see anyone watching either. 5 hour full flight and no entertainment. Stewards didn’t know how to help."

Prós: "I like West Jet over all and it is my preferred airline, as it flies direct between most cities I need to visit. The price is decent and the majority of time the in flight staff are reasonable. I had another flight recently where they were excellent."
Contras: "The flight attendants were a little dour. Whether due to the time of flight or that they were leaving Orlando, I don't know, but I was expecting a little more cheer or at least positivity from them. Also the flight was "running low" on drinks and so I they only came through the cabin once to offer soft drinks, which I needed as I had still to catch a red eye and function during my layover. I wasn't pleased with them. Lastly the West Jet connect app worked just fine for my ipad but despite advertising my wife was unable to get it to work on her computer (mac) despite multiple attempts. If TVs are no longer going to be standard on planes someone needs to be present to help with I.T. when the system isn't working as advertised."

Contras: "No in flight entertainment unless you download their app, however there was no signs or announcements to warn passengers of this. Flight was delayed and they lost my baggage even though it was a direct flight. Not impressed."

Prós: "I like the fact that there's a free snack even though its a short flighy. I love it! Cabin crew are so nice and friendly. Very accomodating. Im planning to go back to New York on September."

Contras: "It was chilly on the flight despite not having the vents turned on in my row and blankets are no longer provided without cost. I did not want to be cold but I also did not want to own a west jet blanket."

Contras: "There was quite a delay on my flight and I didn’t get an email to let me know there was a delay. Because I happened to go to check in earlier, I happened to noticed the delay. I wasn’t happy about not getting an email. I called West Jet to find out about the delay and it took approximately an hour to speak to someone. When I did, the delay was explained as weather related and the reason for not getting an email was because they hadn’t gotten to it yet I believe. I wasn’t happy with that as a reply. The flight was then delayed again by several minutes. I would have appreciated some form of compensation as I was going to get a lift home from the airport and ended up having to pay for a taxi as I was coming in so late. In all other flights, I know west jet to be quite an accommodating airline. The crew was great, I simply didn’t appreciate how the delay was handled."

Contras: "Time to take off. A flight attendant told us to go back and register the car seat before boarding, but it was not necessary. Waste of time."

Contras: "Your website and westjet allowed price gouging to happen. I had to spend about $2500 for two new flights, to replace two flights that were cancelled on September 8th due to Hurricane Irma. The previous flights cost total $678 for two people from FLL to EDI. But you allowed us to be charged $2500 for the same exact route, and we had to spend due to the emergency. The very next day the President of the USA stated it was unethical for price gouging to happen. I request at least 50% refunded back"

Prós: "Before taking this flight, I was very nervous because of all the bad reviews on here and other sites. The only good reviews seemed to be by people from Alberta (not really trustworthy, as they seem to support anything that's from Alberta, and note that Westjet is based in Alberta...). But I was blown away by how organized Westjet was and how nice they were. All the flights were on time (I had a few layovers), the staff was helpful....I really have no complaints. Sure, they don't have a plethora of great in-flight entertainment such as movies, etc. But when I fly, I'd rather pay less, have the staff be nice/organized, and just bring a darn book to entertain me. It was a great first flight with this company. I would fly with them again....and I can't remember the last time I said that about any other airline. So do yourself a favor: Don't listen to the bad reviews on here (unless you're obsessed with in-flight entertainment and big-butt first class seats)."
Contras: "The movie and T.V. show selection was bad. But that's not a big deal for me...."

Contras: "The Female Stewardesses either conveniently did not see me sitting in the middle row seats, or perhaps had other alternative means. I felt totally and absolutely ignored, particularly when Meals and Beverages were being served."

Contras: "Calgary airport for a transfer between Canada and the US is like a bad episode of Monty Python! It takes far too long and is far too dependent on the efficiency of silly tram drivers, baggage handlers who are phantoms and computer efficacy! All I care about at the airport, and all I want from airport staff is ruthless efficiency. Anything besides ruthless efficiency is just obnoxious and wastes my time!! No wifi on the aircraft nothing decent to eat on a flight scheduled during the dinner hour"

Prós: "On the way back boarding started early and we left earlier than planned."
Contras: "Boarding has become quite the painstaking endeavor since all checked luggage is payed because now travellers try to fit everything in carry ons to save money which leads to everyone trying to put their stuff in the overhead bins. This isn't exclusive to one carrier though."

Nobody could hear what was being announced. Entertainment audio was very poor - which on a long flight can make a big difference."

I’ve had better experiences in economy class with other airlines. I just think it’s laughable that Aer Lingus class themselves as a 4* airline"

I ended up boarding later than most and the overhead lockers of the front rows (where I was sitting) were completely full. I had to place my baggage very far back and wait for almost everyone to leave the plane so I could collect it."

Contras: "Cattle call boarding.... No system. We prepaid 80 Euro for two carry-on size bags because they were slightly over the 10 kilo limit and then they announced at the gate that if carton bags were over size or weight, they would check the free. Really!!!!"

Contras: "No free alcochol. Had to spend a night in Dublin just to connect! Over two hours late. And Aer Lingus really stunk flying the night before from Milano to Dublin. One person at their many counters for two hundred passenegers. Last time for Aer Lingus. On the other hand British Airways flew us from SF to Milano. We thought we were returning by British Airways. Screw job!"

Prós: "The blanket, pillow, leg room, food and drinks were excellent. The entertainment option was decent. The staff was pretty nice from check in to landing."

Contras: "After we landed in DUB, some other aircraft's being in the wrong place seemed to cause us quite a long delay, which meant that I very nearly missed my connecting flight to IAD. My suitcase, perhaps because of this same taxiing delay, missed the flight and had to be sent on the same flight the next day - though it reached me without incident about 24 hours after I reached my home."

Contras: "Food & not enough water served. The seats had very little leg room on flight from Dublin to Lisbon and people had to maneuver their bodies to get into the seats."

Contras: "Bags got delayed by a day."

Contras: "We were told we would revive a seat at the bulkhead with a bassinet. We did not."

Prós: "I was confronted by a horrible line to get through border control. I showed a local ground crew person of no clear responsibility, and who had a limp, and she saw my ticket was w Alitalia and so ushered me to a special "short transfer" line. All worked out."
Contras: "The check in area was confusing and uncomfortable. My line abruptly shut down. It was anxiety-creating to not have confidence that I would make my flight, even after waiting for an hour with very few (10-12) parties in front of me. Also, actual boarding was a third-world nightmare. Simple "zone" process boarding could radically improve the boarding time and the experience for custommers, among other things. Rome personnel seemed to not have had any training in customer service or even visited a different (better functioning) facility, just to get a sense of what could be possible. I am sure the processes could be easily improved, as best practices are executed elsewhere."

Contras: "Paying for water was a bit much. Fortunately, no charge was made for air to breathe."

Prós: "Nothing."
Contras: "The plane was delayed by an hour, they didnt have a plane so gave us a random budget airline plane from a company noone has heard of. Wasnt a big enough plane, so requested we check our hand luggage. Got on the plane and for a 7 hour flight there was no entertainment- unless you had a fully charged phone or tablet as they had an app but no where to charge your phone or tablet. Half way though the flight, it was announced that we had gone from 4 toilets to 1.5 (????) Landed in the us and it took an extra 30 minutes for luggage to show up on the conveyor / carousel. What a joke!"

Prós: "Boarding was quick and efficient. I was seated quickly and the flight took off on time. No complaints."

Contras: "British Airways/Aer Lingus did not allow me to go to the gate although I was at their counter early. Worst and most humiliating situation I've ever experienced"

Prós: "On time, Boarding very good. Crew were brilliant, especially when they removed an intoxicated woman who was harassing the family seated next to me."
Contras: "Didn't eat dinner on flight as it came too early for a flight at that time. I ate in airport. But the breakfast was just OK & comfort I guess is par for the course these days, seats on economy fares just seem to get narrower & narrower. As far as the entertainment system it just didn't work properly (just as it didn't on the flight over) and the choice of films, TV and current affaires was pretty bad."

Prós: "Got in early"
Contras: "Lost luggage for 25% of the flight. They say this happens often. spent 3 hours at the airport filing a claim. I hope I see my suit case again"

Contras: "Was supposed to depart at 850 pm on 15 Nov from Orlando Boarded plane on time then sat on aircraft for 2 hrs due to machanical issues. Was the deboarded and spent 2 hrs wanted for a hotel voucher. Asked to be placed on a different flight due to active duty military status and was given no help. Was not offered to fly on a different airline.. was instead asked if i had looked into getting another flight which if i am correct should be something they should have doing to ensure that i would return to duty on time.. Mind you i was flying with a small child and bussiness class was more important than women with small children or families period. When i was able to catch the flight the following day i didnt not recieve notification that this flight was delayed as well. To top it off this was a red eye flight and they kept the lights on in the cabin and many people were unable to sleep. Due to the flight being delayed i and my small child had to run across dublin international to catch or connecting flight. We made it however our luggage did not. I will not be using this airline again. I would rather spend a little extra money."

Contras: "I was recently on a 5 week tour of South America where I took 13 flights. They had a boarding system whereby you boarded by numbers with the highest numbers boarding first and they had 3 designated small queues 1-15 16- 30 30 -46 and this worked extremely well"

Prós: "Nice plane, nice crew, the airline with the best cup of tea and it is the only airline with Tayto Crisps."

Prós: "Good order and efficient."

Contras: "The gate people were indifferent, bordering on rude. A bag which I’ve used for hundreds of flights as a carry on “weighed too much” and suddenly required checkin with a charge despite it being a carry on for the first leg. No one could explain to me the difference of the weight in the overhead versus the belly of the plane. I will NEVER fly LATAM again and will make sure that I spend a lot more than $30 for all of my future travels in their region. Too bad that their rules are designed to steal from the customer. I won’t be fooled again."

Prós: "I had few questions about emigration in São Paulo and they helped, the food was good and all were very kind!"

Prós: "In-flight entertainment is very good with a good selection of movies and TV shows."
Contras: "Flight was first delayed 1 hour then jumped to 3 more hours. Gate was constantly changing so we relaxed at a nearby gate. Never heard a boarding call. Then there's a security check right before you get on the plane so we have to throw away bottles of water that were bought in the terminal after passing initial security. Ridiculous!! How are we to keep hydrated on a 10 hour flight without being able to bring water on the plane?? The flight attendants should, at least, come around with cups of water. Service on LAN was excellent 10 years ago but has deteriorated when it changed to LATAM."

Contras: "We flew Latam to go snowboarding in Argentina. The moment we arrived at the desk to check in, it was chaos. We waited in line for almost 2 hours to check in. When we got to Buenos Aires, our snowboard bags had not made it on the flight. Having to deal with Latam agents who hardly spoke English and were not helpful at all was intensity frustrating. Our bags finally got to our destination 2 days later. We had to drive to the airport to pick them up because they were not going to deliver them for another day, so we would have been 3 days without our snowboard gear. Latam did nothing to compensate us for the days lost no did they even seem to care. This is one of the most frustrating companies I have ever dealt with. I booked a return flight on Delta and lost $1000 just so I don’t have to deal with Latam again. Any money you save on a flight is not worth having to deal with this company. Stick with reliable American-based companies with customer service that is up to American standards."

They have to take us to the others Imigration building where we have to wait for suitecases together with 4 other flights. All that summed up to about 4 hours. Lost connection NO personal of Latam was there to help out. Had to buy another ticket."

Prós: "The inflight meal was delicious. I was not expecting so many choices."
Contras: "Mechanical problems go start. And the crew in Orlando did not keep passengers up to date."

Contras: "This flight was entirely unnecessary. I paid for this flight and a connector from Lima to D.C. I was in Nazca, so could have easily boarded in Lima instead, but the airline forced me to make the 14 hour trip back to Cusco instead, just so I could fly BACK to Lima on their plane, otherwise they would have cancelled my whole reservation. I will never fly with LATAM again."

Contras: "The plane was not clean at all. Mine and my friend's seatbelts both had chewed gum stuck on them which we had to cover with some plastic wrap to keep it from getting on our clothing. Our tray tables were disgusting. It looked like someone had spilled food all over them and no one ever cleaned it, so we had to clean the tables ourselves."

Contras: "Our flight was delayed more than three hours and we received minimal communication about what was going on. Initially it was only delayed 30 minutes, then we were told an hour, then one more hour, then one more hour. The entire time we sat in a pre-boarding area with no food, water, wifi, or electrical outlets. We ended up missing one of our tours in Buenos Aires (which we had already paid for) due to the delay. Extremely disappointing after having otherwise positive experiences with LAN."

Prós: "Crew did well to make the flight as easy and nice as possible. Blankets and pillow were ready when I arrived."
