Contras: "2 hour delay due to a morning delay at Barcelona, although that seemed odd. The delay was known early that morning. Flight from Barcelona to Zurich doesn't take long. Seems they could have rerouted, or at least sent an email or some notification. Also, the boarding staff at Zurich is rude and random about whom they let onboard with larger luggage or not. They held some people but not others. Middle seats have metal polls, making legroom awkward."

The leg room on the plane was also very reduced for an 11 hour flight. I wish I would have been offered to pay an additional amount and upgrade to the business class. This option was never offered to me at check-in."

Contras: "Being FORCED to spend extra money simply to be able to reserve the last row of two seats, in the faint hope of being able to achieve some level of comfort which was unattainable on the first flight. Having only two seats in our row and the one in front of us made the flight tolerable, but also enhanced the ludicrous ineptitude of the previous flight, wherein we were treated like so much livestock in a train car, heading for slaughter. I will never, NEVER, fly Swiss Air again."
Contras: "Was asked to give up my aisle seat (D 40) seat om a 13 hour flight for a less comfortable one (F). Put on the spot to give up my seat for a couple with a 6 month old infant due to the fact that the attachable bassinet had to be in front of the D seat. Neither the parent or myself felt very good about my displacement."

Contras: "Contrary to most experiences in Switzerland, the Swiss Air boarding process is a damn mess! Most airlines board by rows or boarding groups, but Swiss Air does none of that. As soon as first class is boarded, they open boarding to all seats, so it's like cattle boarding a train. With Swiss Air, don't wait to get in line - do it early to ensure you get carry-on storage near your seat."

Contras: "The space between the seats is very small, and the seats recline very far, I found myself a bit too tall to fit in them comfortably, as even reclined my neighbors seat was nearly pressed against my nose. My much shorter girlfriend did not have this problem, and slept through the whole flight. SWISS only has one or two check in agents at LAX, and the wait was about 3hr to process the 300-odd passengers on our 777. I know they're only running a flight or two a day from LA, but I am sure there's a speedier and more efficient way to check us all in."

Contras: "In Zurich if you travel to US or Canada, they have just before the gates some security check that ONLY verifies the passport. It seemed weird to me. Why are they not excluding transferring passengers from this nightmare. Because it is a nightmare. Long and disorganized lines where travelers, that have diverse leaving times, are trying to enter 4 check points that work slow and nobody manages all that mess. On the plane, absolute unnecessarily (they had extra unoccupied seats) they took one of our carry-on-s with the check in luggage. The seats are extremely tight and offer a very small place for the economy class. Nothing special about the food."

Contras: "It was too warm during flight, not enough air flow. The lights are too bright and spread light to passengers during "sleep" time. The remote controls for the TV's need to be cleaned. Passengers need to be reminded to not open windows during "sleep" times"

Contras: "The bathrooms were tiny, seemed to be in a bad shape and one of them was straight disgusting. The cabin was crowded and there was not much room to stretch. There seemed to be something wrong with the main dish (special order) and I started to feel ill soon after eating from it. It took a few days to get better. The headset didn't work for most of the trip, even after several attempts by the flight attendant to re-set it."

Contras: "Seats are hard and very small. No chargers and having the remote control cut into the armrest was uncomfortable and awkward. I kept accidentally hitting the stewardess button with my elbow when I would try to use said armrest."

Contras: "Unlike the incredibly kind woman, another woman on the crew was incredibly rude to me and to other passengers on the plane. She was very obviously annoyed with nearly everything on that flight. The restrooms were beyond disgusting. I have never flown on a flight with a restroom that awful; it smelled horrible and was filthy. It was reminiscent of a portable outhouse, no exaggeration. The pillow on my seat had makeup on it."

Contras: "Virgin Upper Class seats are cramped, with very limited stowage space. Turning the seat into a lay flat bed (and returning it seat at the end of the flight) takes some effort--not the simplest of processes. I'm not tall, but my feet protruded into the aisle so I was being disturbed whilst sleeping. Seat is also quite narrow--feels quite claustrophobic when sleeping."
Contras: "You lost our luggage. We were able to pick up our luggage after the Sydney flight, but they never made it to Minneapolis. What I don't understand is why we were not able to get boarding passes and seat assignments when we did our check-in in Sydney? Why is that so hard? Also, when we were getting our boarding pass in LAX it was so confusing when it asked for checked bags. Our bags were already on a belt going to who knows where - were we supposed to check "yes"? If we had a boarding pass this would not have been an issue."

Prós: "Superior comfort, class, and style. The crew was friendly and accommodating, the pilots kept you up to date with flight info and departure/arrival time (and kept the seat belt light off almost the entire trip), the food was delicious and offered throughout, and the entertainment was top notch. Seats were comfortable (we had bulkhead row Space+ and they were worth every cent for the international long haul from LAX-BNE and SYD-LAX) and everyone got a pillow/blanket. We got premium noise-canceling headsets, water, and a little care kit including an eye mask and earplugs and a pen to fill out your travel documents. The overhead bin space was huge and we got two free checked bags of luggage up to 50lbs each (I don't know of that's standard or not, or if it came with Space+ seats). SERIOUSLY the best airline."
Contras: "Absolutely nothing. For a long haul flight, Virgin Australia is TOP NOTCH!"
Prós: "reservations easy to make (like most other airlines) A water bottle, blanket, headset & sleep kit on each seat. Seats were not so close together in coach that your knees were against your chin if the guy in front of you put his seat back. The planes I was on To/from LAX-BNE felt very spacious because of the interior height. 2 free checked bags."
Contras: "The food was mediocre--doughy stuff for both meals Not very tasty. The entertainment selection was nowhere near as good as on other airlines. Very Australia-heavy music, old films & TV shows available, as well as some new ones. But no live TV channels, not even current news."

We were given blankets and pillows. The best thing was the ground staff getting rude after all passengers complaining. They were basically saying we should get stuffed since we were booked for a flight next day same day. This is shameful! Needless to say that I will not fly this airline again!"

Prós: "I had a great seat (exit row) with lots of legroom. They provided a free breakfast, and it was actually pretty good. A few hours later i was hungry and tried to buy some food but the cabin crew just gave my another breakfast item. The flight arrived on time, and the luggage was delivered a few minutes after I arrived at the baggage area."

Contras: "Firstly check in was a nightmare, travelling on a Virgin Australia Flight from LAX - BNE and a connecting flight BNE - PPP (Proserpine) all with Virgin Australia, and they claim they don't have the ability to tag your luggage the whole way through??? (I understand I have to collect it on arrival into another country and then take to a bag drop) but with the same airline they claim they can't do this? I travel a lot and with many other flights internationally and I can tag my bags with different airlines all the way through, but NOT WITH VIRGIN WITH THE SAME AIRLINE ALL THE WAY THROUGH? They can't do it? Then 2 hour delay on the tarmac after taxiing out from the gate at LAX, which got us in late to Brisbane. The food on this leg LAX-BNE for the vegetarian option was terrible, which was strange as on the fist flight over from BNE-LAX it was the best vegetarian food on any flight I've ever had. Strangely 6 months out from our flight I tried calling Delta to upgrade our tickets and was told they had no way of doing it as the Delta computer system isn't linked Virgin system. Then calling Virgin to upgrade I was told I can't as it is a Delta ticker. We tried again a week out from the flight and got the same response and told to try at check-in. We tried then at check in and told they have no idea how to do this as only so many seats are allocated to Delta tickets and they can't access the Delta system?? First landing attempt had to be aborted, the landing not being cleared by the control tower. Then we cruised, circling over the Ocean, and the lights of the city again. Finally we landed. Taxiing on the tarmac was interrupted many times, and took overall 30 minutes. The pilot kept informing us. I was probably not the only passenger that had and urgent need to reach a bathroom... Of course, Delta should not be blamed"

We finally deplaned and waited for a new plane. Got to Kona at 2:00am. The air temp was warm the entire flight. Had to endure a grumpy crew. Not the best flying experience. I know you can do better. Maybe look at how Hawaiian airlines does it and you might get some inspiration on how to improve."
Contras: "The person taking tickets asked me to check my bag. I said ok and he instructed me to step aside and taking anything out of it that I might need. I did this and when I came back they had locked the doors."

Contras: "My video player did not work properly for the whole 11.5hrs of flight from Munich to LA. It was extremely tough to get it to play a movie. I am not blaming the crew, but their only suggestion was to restart it... Which I did... several times... but the player had a life of its own. Eventually I found a way to be able to get to a movie and get it to play, but it was not easy. I wish that there would be an extra player that could be provided as a replacement... Thank you."

Contras: "There was a 4.5 hr delay due to "technical difficulties". We had to switch planes. This caused me to miss my flight to Tucson out of LAX. When I asked them to help rebook my flight that Lufthansa caused ne to miss, i was told there is nothing they can do. Seeing as how that last flight was not booked through Lufthansa. This is absolutely ridiculous! There were no Lufthansa flights into Tucson so I had no choice but to go with another carrier! So after a long grueling 4.5 hr delay and 11+hr flight now I have to stay in a hotel because my flight out via Southwest was the last one out for the day and The only nonstop flight departs at 12:35 tomorrow. Thank goodness Southwest booked me on another flight at no charge! They take care of their customers. It was not their fault I missed the flight. It was dur to the "techincal difficulties" with Lufthansa. And every hotel within a 8 mile radius has been sold out. And at one point I booked online only to find out upon my arrival, after paying for taxi and havig him leave, thAt this hotel is sold out and should not have allowed me to book online. So after landing at 7:15 pm at LAX I am just now in bed at a hotel after searching and paying for cabs etc. And on my dime! Absolutely ridiculous !!"

Contras: "I had ordered muslim meal but was served vegetarian (meatless) meal instead. Muslim meals can be served with halal beef,chicken, mutton or fish / seafood. Food served was substandard and tasteless."
Prós: "The crew did their best to help several people whose seat requests were not honored including a woman traveling with a dog who was given an aisle instead of a window seat. Crew came around with water and juice frequently."
Contras: "Seat assignments were not honored. My husband and I were seated in two different rows even though we requested to sit together in an aisle and window seat and checked in the day before the flight This happened on all four legs of a trip to South Africa. Extremely narrow seats and little leg room. Felt like a cattle car. An aggressive woman with disruptive, screaming children was allowed to Torture passengers for a good five hours of the flight before the bursar finally moved her. This was after several hours of complaints from other passengers. She was eventually moved twice due to passenger complaints. The situation should have been handled after the first complaints which occurred two hours into the flight before the situation completely detiorated Food was terrible and meals ran out."

Prós: "Flight was operated by United Airlines. Easy boarding, friendly crew. Pillows, blankets, and headphones provided plus free house wine and beer as well as the usual coffee, tea, soda. Seatback video did not work for me, but I had no plans to use it as I needed to sleep on the flight. Excellent vegetarian dinner of vegetable korma, chickpeas and rice. Heated snack was not meatless, though, so as a Catholic flying on Friday had to pass."
Contras: "Vegetarian option (or meatless Friday option) for snacks as well as meals would be nice. They are in the process of changing to personal device entertainment, so seatback screen issue will not be a problem in the future."
Prós: "Punctual departure, cabin crew were generally efficient and pleasant. The airshow (flight routing details) programme is one of the best I've experienced on any airline...."
Contras: "Boarding was a 'free-for-all' with no filtering of Economy passengers by zone or seat row. Less effective than Emirates in this regard. The hot snack offered before arrival at Denver was served in the final 50 minutes of the 10 plus hour flight. This meant that the service and tray collection, including the cabin preparation for landing was very rushed."

Contras: "The window seats are not comfortable like in other planes. The windows are too high, you don't see anything. The seat is too far from the window so you cannot lean towards it. For a 10 hour flight it was not comfortable."

Thank you for offering a dietary option that is compassionate toward animals and contributes less to climate change! Now if only the planes were powered by clean, renewable energy... Hopefully that will become a reality someday very soon! Oh, and also the crew on this flight was exceptionally kind and helpful. Thank you so much!"
Contras: "I did not enjoy the turbulence, which I suppose is unavoidable. More importantly, I felt quite guilty about the greenhouse gas emissions of my flight. I have decided to cut down on my air travel as much as possible as a way of reducing my carbon footprint."

Contras: "Very odd queue separation at boarding. Passengers were divided in 5 lanes, depending on their seating area withing the plane (for a more efficient boarding, I presume) but, by the time we all got to the actual aircraft, we formed another queue in the boarding bridge so it didn't feel like any time was saved or anything."

I just filed a claim and got rude service saying I should have filed the claim at the airport baggage area but there was not anybody there to do the claim then he agent upstairs said they just spoke to them and they are there and I should have done it there. This was so rude and there is no way to get back into customs area. If we paid 200 for bags I expect them to arrive on time. I’m asking for a refund of the baggage fees."

The ticket agent, the gate agent and the cabin crew all did nothing to make up for the fact that their system screwed up and stuck me in a cramped coach seat in the back of the plane for 11 hours-- TWICE! Beyond that, KLM must have one of the oldest fleets in the sky. Both ways LAX->AMS->LAX, I was on a 30-35 year old 747 with no wifi, no power and a ten-year-old entertainment system. Never again."

Contras: "Without any explanation the plane I was due to go to Istanbul on at 11.30 was not available. I had to wait for a small plane coming from Edinburgh then wait for it to be emptied of passengers and cleaned. This meant we were over 2 hours late into Istanbul. No explanation or apology. I then missed my next flight in Istanbul and had to purchase another ticket. I cannot believe that air passengers are treated in this way!!! I will follow this up with KLM when I go home from my holiday."

Contras: "Poor communication between delta, KLM and Air France meant that I couldn’t check in online and get a digital boarding pass. Furthermore I couldn’t use the check-in kiosks because my name was listed as Reidmr instead of Reid, which meant that my boarding pass did not match my passport. Overall this caused unnecessary delays that were compounded by the fact that I couldn’t use my TSA precheck. My main problem on the plane was that I had to struggle to get water served to me. It’s always so dry on planes and I would have liked to be able to get more than one tiny glass of water at a time. Also, would have loved a window at my window seat. Plus no WIFI!?"
