Prós: "After almost completely adapting to the spartan amenities of US domestic airlines, my recent SWISS flight had a too-good-to-be-true quality that rendered my travel companion and I giddy with delight. My dinner (one of three food services) consisted of chicken, potatoes, steamed broccoli, salad, a dinner roll with butter, gruyere, and a strawberry tart... included cream and sugar signaled an inevitable coffee service. This was accompanied by complimentary wine and sparkling water, and heavy-weight stainless cutlery. The seat reclination was good, and the in-flight entertainment was a cut above. Coming off many Frontier flights with pay-for-beverage service, no leg-room, and un-reclining seats, it was about as good as coach can get. I'm actually looking at SWISS routes first before I plan my next vacation."
Contras: "Always when one sits in the back of the plane, they run out of one meal. The food was ok. Not sure why they serve ice cream and cheese as a snack."

I told her that He had starte an ardious process in recovering my luggage. She visibly tried to rush me through the process and told me there was othing that could be done. It felt really ugly to be lied to right to my face, when she diditn try to connect with someone from her own staff who had tried alot of heard to work to help me rectify the luggage question. For all we know, my luggage was in Zuruch, and her actions impeded the luggage from getting onto my plane."

Contras: "Airbus 330 seats are too narrow and the arm rests too high. I am about 5'3" and weigh about 150. I can't imagine what a taller and/or heavier passenger must feel like in these seats. Also I dislike the "nickel and diming" philosophy used by most airlines these days making people pay an extra $29 to reserve a specific seat. Give me a price from the beginning with a seat assignment."

Contras: "My wife is strictly Hindu vegetarian. We had entered her food choice at Swiss web site months before. She didn't get the food while going to Zurich and coming back to Boston. She remained hungry both ways. Although we were in business class while coming."
Prós: "Flight attendants where very nice and attentive. Good choice of movies and shows for adults and kids. I usually don't eat airplane food but it looked fresh and my kids enjoyed the breakfast very much with fresh baked bread and croissant. My flight was delayed by one hour but it was a problem caused by the airport not the airline. I still made my connection and I received my suitcaises right away."

Prós: "I had a super-short connection from Stockholm at Zurich (going to JFK), and I just assumed I'd have to be rebooted, but they held the plane for all of us! Entertainment was excellent, service was great - I really like the food, although I don't eat well on flights. Comfortable - I slept for a few hours. Really great experience (until I hit customs in JFK, but SwissAir has no influence on that :) )"

Contras: "2 hour delay due to a morning delay at Barcelona, although that seemed odd. The delay was known early that morning. Flight from Barcelona to Zurich doesn't take long. Seems they could have rerouted, or at least sent an email or some notification. Also, the boarding staff at Zurich is rude and random about whom they let onboard with larger luggage or not. They held some people but not others. Middle seats have metal polls, making legroom awkward."

Contras: "1stly the lady at the check in was not nice [ i should have gotten her name -] she was rude and quite 'authoritarian' which is uncalled for- when you have paid an expensive ticket are just trying to check in. then I checked an extra bag - and could not pay where i checked in. i had to go to another counter to pay - there was a line and it took a good few extra minutes - and i still had to get thru security. if you can pay at the check in counter this would avoid this extra step. i was really not happy about it swiss air needs better efficiency and better customer service"

Prós: "On every flight I have ever been on, if I request it I can get a whole water bottle vs. the small cups offered...however on this flight they refused saying 'it is against the rules"?? As a result I had to bother the flight crew over 10 times to refill my small glass...a huge inconvenience for both of us. The other inconvenience (one I have not experienced in over 5-6 years) was the the headphone jacks were the old fashioned kind...meaning you could not use your own, and the buds given by the airline were very uncomfortable."

Why are they not excluding transferring passengers from this nightmare. Because it is a nightmare. Long and disorganized lines where travelers, that have diverse leaving times, are trying to enter 4 check points that work slow and nobody manages all that mess. On the plane, absolute unnecessarily (they had extra unoccupied seats) they took one of our carry-on-s with the check in luggage. The seats are extremely tight and offer a very small place for the economy class. Nothing special about the food."

Prós: "The Transit from TLV suppose to take 50 min. In the boarding passes that we received in TLV ut was written gate 201. The security at the Sabiha Airport was very slowly so we needed to rush to the gate. When we arrived the gate nothing was written about the flight to Amsterdam. So an airport worker checked for us and they changed the gate twice. So in the end 24 Israelis missed the flight to Amsterdam and we had to be transfer to Attaturk Airport and arrived in Amsrterdam in 5 hrs delay."

I can't even imagine how can the crew just let the customer stand there and wait for her lie 20 mins to do her job to get pass by the lane, like the customer is not even there and she didn't see the customer. The smiles feel ingenuine after all. I can just tell that the crew does like like her job. She is even flirting with a male crew on the plane. What a bomb! I fly pretty frequently AND this is the most horrible flight experience I ever have IN MY LIFE."
Prós: "FROM THE TURKISH DELIGHTS to the amazing choice of food and drinks all the movies to watch flying with turkish airlines was amazing!!! considering the prices for the tickets beat every airline out there and it was like a week before departure!! incredible just incredible no complaints at all!!"

Contras: "Turkish airline is such great a great carrier in general, but has the biggest drawback that it has to go through Istanbul airport. Istanbul airport is so crowded, loud, and people are not nice. Plus it took me 2 hours to find out how to use the free (only for 2 hours) wi-fi. They made the airport look fancy, however, the experience was the opposite. I would highly recommend this airline only if you aren't laying over at Istanbul for a long time."

Contras: "Poor Boarding In Chicago, no lines were formed to let people board in an organized fashion. Insufficien/inappropriate food ( BEEF Prevented choices ) - Eliminate beef from your food choices. Many people like me can eat Non vegetarian meals like chicken, fish , EXCEPT BEEF Ran out of the Salmon fish dish. I was given a snacking cheese sandwich instead! This would not have happened if you had selected other than a beef dish! Cramped seating. The airlines greed shows in picking out the seat placement design. The plane had extremely limited knee room. I'm five foot five inches tall and my knees were almost touching the seat in front."

Contras: "When my first flight was late, Turkish air took 5 hours to rebook me. Two people forgot that they were helping me and when I asked why it was taking so long, they had to start over. One woman didn't even look at me, she was just on her phone playing a game. Every step of the process they asked me how I could have missed the connection....it landed 20 min before the next one took off!!!"
Contras: "The flight was delayed an hour and a half. The system kept throwing my son and I out of two different movies every five minutes. I got fed up and decided to listen to music. Was good for three songs and kept freezing and throwing me out. Was happening to other passengers too. It was very frustrating."

Seats were so small and extremely uncomfortable. We had to wait for about 30' before we took off WITHOUT air conditioning!! That was miserable!!!! Last, I found HAIR in my food!!! Although, the flight we took from Atlanta to Instanbul was one of the best flights I've ever have taken. Mixed emotions.."

We were then forced to stay in the airport hotel at a rate of almost $200.00 as we were unable to secure a flight on a different airline until the next day"

In general, the service was quite poor, making me wonder how does Delta treat the flight attendants, for they seemed tired and careless. The above did not happen in any of my other flights: Atlanta-Guadalajara, Guadalajara-CDMX, CDMX-Atlanta."

You don't get assigned a seat until YouTube up at the airport... That's fine, not really a big deal. But because you didn't select a seat, they don't let you print or view your boarding pass on your phone, forcing you to go to the checking desk. For someone that has TSA pre check and travels alot, all that extra time adds up and can sometimes cause you to miss your flight. Because there is on "fast line" when you check-in like there is at the security check point. I only have this problem with Delta, never American airlines..."

But, when we landed, as passengers were trying to get off of the plane, the attendants were putting all of the collected luggage at the entry to the jetway. It created congestion. Then, anyone who had luggage, had to lineup against the side of the jetway, awaiting their luggage, and increasing the congestion. First, it was inconvenient. Worse, if there was any kind of emergency, I believe it would have created a unsafe environment. Very Poor Design & Process ! ! !"
Prós: "Our plane had mechanical issue with a parking brake which they left us know about once we loaded the plane. Unfortunately it was going to take to long so they switched us to another plane."
Contras: "Airlines in general need to enforce the carry on luggage rules. If it doesn't match the dimensions for the carry on specks then make the people Check it. Don't let it go. If I paid for a seat and I'm allowed two carry ons then there should be room for them. Don't ask people to check bags because of a full plane. The crew should have there own place to store their belongings, not where the passengers do and take their space. The life rafts need to be easy to get to but again should take up a spot a passenger has paid for their luggage to go. If that is the only space for these items then don't allow passengers to bring two items if in those seats or on the whole plane. It's really disappointing when your told you may have to check your bag because there's not enough room."

Prós: "Tail winds provided an early arrival. When my flight was rebooked due to a delay on my first booking I was upgraded to Permium booking and drinks were complementary on the flight from Atlanta to Philadelphia."
Contras: "Super loud. Couldn't talk to anyone without shouting. No view out the window, as the engine was about 5 inches outside the glass. Not sure why there even were windows for these seats, as they probably just let in more sound. Also right next to the bathroom, so frequently smelled bad."
Contras: "They didn't even get me to Philadelphia they delayed the flight for 6 hours then cancelled it offered to rebook me the next day and $15 compensation when i declined. $15 for pretty much ruining my Christmas nice job delta never again"

Prós: "The gate agent was terrific. There was a delay, but he continually updated everyone about what was going on. Also, I checked on upgrades when I first arrived. About forty minutes later I went over to check the monitor. I didn't even look his way, but he called out to me, asked my name, and checked the status of my upgrade. Very professional and very nice."
Contras: "Though a meal was advertised for first class, there was none. I overheard the flight attendants say that catering in Atlanta screwed up, but nothing was said to the passengers."
Prós: "Overall, the flight was good. It actually wasn't a Delta flight but an Alaska Airlines flight."
Contras: "The aircraft was new model 737-800, very nice! Except the seats are a bit hard. Not good for a 5 hour flight. What really made me angry is I paid for a Delta flight. What difference does it make!? On long Delta flights, you get a meal (you pay for it in the cost of your ticket), but I was put on an Alaska Airlines flight where the meals are $7.50! I think that if Delta puts you on an affiliated airline, they should pick up the tab for the meal. Entertainment is via your smartphone. Don't have a smartphone, no problem, cough up $10 for a 2 bit tablet to watch a movie!"
Prós: "Delta has really upped their customer service since the last time I flew with them! EVERYone was so personable and friendly! I was so happy with the experience, I will definitely try to choose a Delta flight as my priority airline to fly! Awesome job Delta crew!!"

I informed the cabin crew that they weren't being considerate after all I gave up my seat to them. The cabin crew told me I could leave my 4 yest old and 3 year old alone and move to a new seat."

I appreciated that there were pillows, blankets, and headphones readily available as well. I'll try to fly Lufthansa every chance I get when flying internationally."

We were enraged that after printing out our boarding tickets for our 12/21/15, 5:50pm Luthansa Flight to Frankfurt, Germany, that the flight was cancelled the next morning. We were rebooked on American Airlines through Paris, which could not guarantee us a seat on AirFrance to our final destination, Venice, Italy. Next, our baggage did not arrive when we got to Venice and after filling out the claim form for lost luggage and following the directions for following up, Air France never called, sent a text or emailed us when the baggage arrived the next day. Returning from Venice to Frankfurt on 1/1/16, and then on to Philadelphia was a crowded flight, with a wailing baby for much of the trip. We were apprehensive, once again worrying that our baggage would not be on the plane and at the airport in Phila., when we arrived. Though we enjoyed ourselves visiting relatives in Vicenza, Lufthansa made our journey tense, and wrought with anxiety."

Person informed me I would have to walk until they could find one? Yeah, the 5'2" person offered a hand but when I'm 5'11" and can't weight bear- I cannot use someone else's assistance. I had to hop from the plane door, all the way up the jet way, past the ticket counters- to the chairs. I've never been so embarrassed as an entire boarding plane watched. No one on the plane even offered assistance in helping me off- they greeted other crew and I just wandered off. After I was seated, I waited why the woman went and found a wheelchair. Why in the world couldn't they have done this beforehand? Forcing me to hop was a major risk. Lufthansa knew my issues and said my account was notated after the first incident."
Prós: "Newspapers in English. The hot meal: chicken, rice, broccoli - colorful presentation and tasty for airline food. However I had finished my hot meal before the beverages were served."
Contras: "No entertainment system. Beverages were served AFTER the meal. I would have enjoyed a glass of wine WITH the meal."
Prós: "The plane they run on this route is an Airbus A380-800 which is the large double decker that holds a gazillion people. The seats have good legroom (unlike united) and a nice in-seat entertainment system. The airplane is uncannily quiet in flight. The flights are full. The meal service was nice except for the pasta which was pretty pathetic. With your United MP gold card you can get into all the airport lounges when flying Lufthansa economy which is great."
Contras: "As you might expect with a plane this large its takes a while to get people on and off it even with the German efficiency of Lufthansa. And of course you land in Frankfurt which is tied with Heathrow for the worst airport in the western world. Lots of bus trips and walking to get anywhere."
Prós: "Nothing, it was a disaster."
Contras: "Service was terrible and rude, the plane was uncomfortable with no tvs or wifi. No one at the gate mentioned downloading the app which I couldn't do on the plane so it made for a long flight."
Prós: "The staff were friendly and all smiles. Seats were comfortable and we had a quick, smooth flight from Edinburgh to Amsterdam. The breakfast supplied was an egg and mayonnaise sandwich plus a drink, which seemed about right and very Dutch in character."
Contras: "It was rainy and necessary to walk outside to access the plane; the staff should give their customers a heads-up so that jackets can be donned. Additionally, the check-in queue seemed rather sluggish."

Contras: "The first announcement they made to all of us in the economy section was thay they did not have any headphones for anyone but business class. I was told when I booked the seat that the headphones would be complementary. So I did not bother to bring any assuming they were going to keep their word; I figure I'd make it work and watch a movie without sound. If that isn't bad enough midway through my nine hour flight my monitor went out and would not turn back on."

Contras: "Boarding was odd. Go to airport early and counters were not open, did on line check in so was able to avoid the self check in at airport. Also self check in luggage seems confusing with no ground crew to help. It didn't affect me but lots of confused passenger."

Prós: "I can't even count the number of times I have flown KLM in the last 4 years. They are my airline of choice when I fly back and forth from the U.S. thru Amsterdam to Nairobi. This last flight I boarded and then 90 very exuberant girls from London board in all the rows in front of me. I was concerned it was going to be a less than restful flight. Just the opposite. As always the KLM crew took extra ordinary care of all of use. The service was wonderful and I scooted off the flight ahead of the girls to make my very short connection. The crew is what always make the experience delightful! Thank you again KLM."
