Contras: "I had a standard carry on bag which in Wizz air world turned out to be a large bag. Not only did I have to pay and additional £40 at the airport for it, I had to take it on board with me too. This bag has been on many other low fares airlines without a problem. The Wizz air carry on limit is unrealistically small and is thus merely a money making racket."

Prós: "It's a ultra low cost carrier so the key is to be prepared. Make sure you purchase the extras (i.e luggage) before you show up to the airport. Our flight was short and I can only recommend for flights less than two hrs. But it was a very pleasant flight and the staff was about as good as any mainline carrier. We departed on time and arrived early."

Contras: "They charged me £45 for my hand bag which was smaller than the standard handbags in other airlines, I had bought priority check-in service but still they didn't allow me to check in before anyone else, as I had to go to a separate queue to pay for my smaller than normal sized hand baggage ( in all other budget airlines its more than acceptable and was slightly bigger than Wizz Air allowance), the WizzAir hand baggage size allowance is way way too small and its a trap to make money off unsuspected passengers like myself. They were rude at the boarding gate and non-apologetic. Did not sympathize with me, although they were nice to other white passengers, I felt I was treated differently because of my race, specially after the Paris attack all brown skinned men were viewed as a potential threat I suppose and did not have a good experience in the flight as all passengers were looking at me funny! Point to be noted: On my way to Budapest from London I was carrying the same hand bag and I was not asked to pay extra!! Inconsistent service!"
Contras: "We were charged an extra 55 euros at boarding. 40 because our wheelie bags did not fit their very small bag measure cage. Our bags are normal carry on and fit the other airlines and we travel often. Our bags were put in the hold. We were then charged another 15 euros as a penalty for small bags that we fit under the seat in front., even though these bags easily fitted the measure. They were intransigent and charging many passengers."

Contras: "Horrible experience. Queued on foot at gate for ages including 15 mins waiting on tarmac outside plane in blazing sun. Luggage took one and a half hours to appear after landing. Ridiculous baggage arrangements which seem to be designed to save Ryanair airport handling charges. You take your bag through security as hand baggage which means no liquids but then it’s put in the hold and you have to wait for it on arriving. As usual with Ryanair, maximum inconvenience to passengers."
Contras: "They delayed the flight from 8:55 to 10:15 but we didn’t board until about 11. They left us outside in the cold and extreme wind instead of having us just stay inside until the plane was ready. When I complained the employee said there was a woman onboard with a wheelchair and they didn’t have a way to get her off. When we finally got on takeoff was delayed another hour. They blamed all of this on air traffic control staffing in France, didn’t take any responsibility for the delay with the wheelchair. Ryanair is a disgrace."

Contras: "Received emails about baggage, the policy stated that any cabin baggage beyond 1 would be checked for FREE in the hold. My wife and I both arrived with a small carry-on bag and a backpack. Upon arrival to Lisbon the attendant told us we needed to pay40euro each for the extra bag because it was slightly bigger than the bag “tester” box. (It fit sideways but not long ways). We showed the email about the free checked bag and she said because it was too big we had to pay 40 euro each. After a while we agreed. She then told us just to go to the gate, it would be ok. At the gate we had the same conversation with a different attendendent, this time it was 50 euro a piece! She said there was nothing she could do and just like that we are out 100 Euro. Do not fly with these Crooks!"

Then after finally boarding, a passenger got into a verbal altercation with one of the crew members which was very unprofessional. During the flight there was terrible turbulence which cannot always be controlled however passengers were standing in the aisles and not instructed to return to their seats. Lastly the landing was the worst I have ever experienced and I travel fairly frequently. Overall nothing went well and I think you need to reevaluate your standards of professionalism."

Contras: "RyanAir will charge to check in early,but then if you don't check in during a specific window of time, they charge you even more and it has to be done electronically 2 hrs before flight! If they are going to take a punitive approach to the very first interactions with customers, then charge for checked bags at a rate/weight that is also punitive and deviates from competition norms it is unlikely your first-time customers will ever use your airline again. Additionally, the boarding process at Lisbon was ridiculous. All passengers were sent through the gate to an enclosed warehouse with no AC to stand and wait until the plane was ready. Why wouldn't you just wait until the plane was ready?! I will never fly RyanAir again. We spent an additional $190 for two people to check in and check two 33lb bags (1 bag per person)."

Prós: "Flight sat on the tarmac for two hours before taking off, which turned a 4 hour flight into a 6 hour ordeal with no food or water. A free cup of coffee or bottle of water would have been a nice effort from Ryanair to make up for how far behind schedule they were running. Then the staff spent the entire flight flogging merchandise - drinks, terrible food (even by airline standards), even lottery tickets! Real airlines like Lufthansa and KLM only seem marginally more expensive for travel in Europe, and make air travel infinitely more enjoyable."

They also tried to charge us for a checked bag. At first they could find record of our payment for a checked bag. This all smells like a scam or maybe just shady practice to charge as many fees as possible. Charged for water on the plane, 3 euro."
Contras: "Typical indifference at Lisbon where we were sent to the gate at expected time but there was no plane - it left 40 mins late. So we left an area with seating, toilets etc and stood for 90 mins waiting to board. They KNEW there was no plane - we saw it arrive AFTER our supposed takeoff time. They'll blame the airport info but it must be sorted. Everywhere, every time we come last. No more flying for us."
