They didn’t let me in because they close the gate they said?? They have me payed for another thicket to I take the next flight They are so weird, even when you called the customers service they will do nothing for you, like they don’t live in our planet!! Trust me stay away from this turkish airlines"

Prós: "Great food and service. Turkish Airlines has always had a good reputation as we flew with them for years and that hasn't changed. My only one peeve was that I was asked by the flight to sit next to an unaccompanied minor in case of energency. Being a mother. I thought, no problem. The child then became my responsibility on a ten hour flight. Boundaries were crossed when it graduated from assistance to responsibility byt little one could do mid air."

Contras: "About 8 hours into the flight the restrooms became very, VERY unclean--urine on the floors, sinks clogged, smelled terrible. More restroom maintenance was needed throughout this long flight. I thought this airline was the nicest I have been on save this one issue. It would be great if Turkish Airlines could resolve it in the future! Additionally the boarding process in Istanbul was like herding cattle. People weren't seated according to boarding group and it was absolute mayhem--no single file line, people shoving past one another to get seated first on the same plane."

Contras: "Not being made aware that for an international flight I would be only alloted one checked bag, I Brought both of my bags as I always do when I travel. I was aware I would incur a charge, but was surprised that not only would I be redirected from the long bag drop line back to ticket sales, but that they would charge me 10 € per kilo! So my bag ended up costing me double what my ticket cost me for a 4 hour flight. Never again."

Contras: "Most discomfort I had stemmed more from my own fatigue and the inherent dryness of airplane air than anything that could have been controlled. No, the tea I had after my meal wasn't good, but I'm picky. The entertainment options were heavily impaired by the heinous sound quality, however, rendering the movie I watched crackly and often inaudible. I also wish the ticket counter opened earlier before the flight, especially when it ostensibly closes an hour before takeoff. That makes for a narrow window indeed."

Prós: "The food was delicious. I have never had better airplane food. The movies were super new and interesting. I did not have time in the 11 hours of flying to watch all the movies I wanted to. The flight was also incredibly smooth."
Contras: "There were a few small things that could have been better (Which I'll mention), but the worst thing about the flight was the airport. Ataturk Airport is a mess. After the attempted coup, they really upped security, forcing all international flights to go through a second security screening after transferring from another airport. It's understandable but the line moved at a molasses-like speed when I had only 25 minutes to make my connecting flight. The security personnel were rude, as well. Also, when I went to make my connecting gate in Cairo, there was no one at the gate after the required boarding time (Because security had held us up), forcing some of us to board the plane without having anyone to show us onto the plane (Very scary). The flight boarding was chaotic, and no announcements were made about what we were supposed to do. Besides the lack of boarding gates, the only other serious complaint I had against Turkish Airlines (Because it really was great overall) was that the pilots and flight attendants were very hard to understand. I have taught ESL for the past 5 years, and I still had a hard time as an American understanding their English. Also, they frequently didn't understand or misunderstood questions that I would ask them. I've never had a hard time understanding flight attendants on an international flight, but I only understood about 20% of what anyone said over the loud speaker in the plane. And it's nice to be able to understand when the pilot says, "We are experiencing some turbulence and would like everyone to buckle their seatbelts until it passes." Two small things remain: 1. The bathroom trash cans were full on every flight (A small thing but makes everything feel "trashy"). 2. The flight attendants seemed unhappy, and they definitely seemed unhappy to be serving us. I can only assume they are that way because they aren't treated particularly well by their bosses."

Contras: "Once in Turkey (Istanbul ) I had to go to a Turkish Airlines customer service kiosk in order to ask some questions about by following flight. One of the ladies in the counter had to be the rudest customer service person I have seen in years. She talked and dealt with people as if they were an incredible annoyance on her life. She will even dismiss you without answering your questions."

Prós: "Turkish delights on-board and relatively pleasant crew."

Contras: "Due to weather, flight was delayed which is understandable. What is NOT were the multiple gate changes on opposite sides of the terminal with NO notice or announcements. This seems to be routine practice with this airline in Istanbul. It is UNACCEPTABLE especially for people who are traveling with young children."

Contras: "It was not clear this was a no-checked-baggage flight, seeing as I specifically searched with flights with luggage. I chose Lufthansa's flight counting on the fact that international flights always allow one checked bag. I had to pay on that way here. I"ll have to pay on the way home."

Contras: "Delayed 20 minutes out of Denver, and when I arrived at my connecting city in Munich I was immediately told I would not make my connecting flight due to customs lines and to reschedule. I walked 5 minutes to customs, no lines, walked another 5 minutes to my gate, and easily made the connection."

Contras: "While missing a connection happens sometimes, Lufthansa was particularly dreadful in handling the situation. Hundreds, or perhaps thousands, of travelers were not informed about what was happening with their connections, or given any guidance. This all arose from around an inch of snow in Frankfurt. It caused bedlam at the Frankfurt airport, which the Lufthansa staff appeared utterly unprepared to deal with. This is our second very bad experience with Lufthansa."

Contras: "We were about 20-30 minutes late taking off, then we sat on the runway for about 20 minutes. This made it physically impossible to clear customs and go through security requirements at point of entry US in order to make connecting flight."

Contras: "Right before boarding I checked to see about purchasing an upgrade to business for my Wife and I because she was not feeling well and the added room would help. The Rude desk clerk didn’t even check and just spit out no upgrades. Yet once on the plane there were several empty business class seats and they stayed empty the entire flight."

Prós: "Slept like a baby with no interruptions."

Prós: "Professional, friendly, helpful staff in a new, quiet plane (A380-800). Smooth landing. Easy disembarkment despite approximately 500 passengers from a large aircraft."
Contras: "Unreliable domestic Lufthansa flights (in Germany) connected to this international one, and the departure time history for this LH400 proved typical for this flight, which ultimately left nearly 2 hours late despite good local weather. An announcement cited technical difficulties with the originally scheduled plane. Several small groups we recognized from embarkation on this LH400 flight filed lost luggage claims, as we did. Uncharacteristically bad planning by LH on food choices left our rows near the front of Economy without a choice of meals: only pasta, tasty though it was, was available. The chicken option was gone. The flight status video program function did not work for anybody near us despite three equipment restarts by the crew."

Prós: "Crew are very helpful, but some how looked unorganized"
Contras: "Complete unorganization during boarding. Not enough staff. Plane is small and no entertainment for a 4:30 out trip."

Contras: "Will newer agan fly business with Lufthansa!! It's not business at all just regular econom seats with short leg room and casual service. They should be sorry for that kind of business!!"

Contras: "I'm only 5'2" (157cm) and slim but could barely move in my seat, and if the person in front leaned seat back, it was terrible. Food was lame, really salty and they did not come around with water enough."

Confusing security situation at airport - multiple passport controls and at the final point there was only one check in line for all departing US flights. Since most of these flights left within an hour of each other it was bad news. Once again another chance to stand in line for way too long."

Contras: "When landed, the back door of the aircraft was opened, despite passengers only disembarking form the front. It was very cold."

Contras: "Passengers line up to board instead of waiting for their number rows to be called. I ended up boarding later than most and the overhead lockers of the front rows (where I was sitting) were completely full. I had to place my baggage very far back and wait for almost everyone to leave the plane so I could collect it."

Prós: "Used the self check-in and an agent offered to help. She was fantastic!"
Contras: "Cattle call boarding.... No system. We prepaid 80 Euro for two carry-on size bags because they were slightly over the 10 kilo limit and then they announced at the gate that if carton bags were over size or weight, they would check the free. Really!!!!"

Contras: "Worst flight experience I've ever had and I'm 70+ years old. In Dublin we were diverted from JFK to Hartford due to "mechanical problems" and told we'd be met at the gate and provided ground transportation to JFK. Approximately 30 others going to either JFK or Boston were told the same thing and joined us on a half empty flight to Hartford. When we landed there was no representative at the gate, no ground transportation provided, and no effort to help us. A little investigation on cell phones revealed both the Boston and JFK flights left on time (and I'm guessing full). Needless to say the customers were quite upset. Some even raised their voices which caused the kid representatives of Aer Lingus to call the state troopers (really). When the troopers did nothing the Aer Lingus reps locked themselves in their office rather than deal with their customers. After 2 hours of waiting for the promised ground transportation we gave up, rented a car, and drove ourselves to our destination at our own expense. We were never provided even a free drink. Horrible. Lies upon lies upon lies. I'll never consider flying with them again"

Contras: "The space given was considerably smaller than other transatlantic flights and there were also no alcoholic beverages included when other airlines do."

The Aer Lingus flight was fine, but Vanama, the middle agency that youhave processed my tickets through- caused me a lot of stress. The daybefore my flight, I was trying to check in, and I received a message thatmy reservation was cancelled. I called Vanama, who rudely put me on morethan 30- minute hold on the phone, told me that Aer Lingus would not dealwith them, but the customer directly. I told him(Daniel of Vanama) that Ihave paid for my fare, that it was their responsibility, not mine to dealwith the airline. Never-the-less I tried calling the Airline, severaltimes, and listened to their own voice messages up to 2 in the morning ofthe day of my flight. Lacking sleep, and still not packed, I went to bed, went very early to the Madrid airport. I knew by the look on the AerLingus(Cristina) staff that there was a problem---she went ahead issued mea boarding pass, told me to go to the ticket counter in Dublin, and ask forhelp. After going from one floor to another, and another, to twodifferent staff-the problem sorter at Aer Lingus told me, Vanama never issued the ticket. That they should not have let me board the plane in Madrid, but he said he took care of the mess. Now you want to know how my flight went."

Prós: "courteous crew, reasonable food and snacks"

Prós: "The on-screen entertainment as good and easy and free. It was great to get two hot meal services on such a long flight. Cabin was very clean. Captain was quite cordial and informative."
Contras: "On an almost 11 hour flight, we got very thirsty so an additional beverage service would have been nice. I must say that I was a bit taken aback by the fact that they get their crew to sell merchandise during the flight from their on-board catalog."

Prós: "I had not pre-ordered a vegetarian meal, and there were no extras, but one of the flight attendants gave me a fruit salad from one of the crew's meals."
Contras: "The sound quality for the announcement system and the headphones was really bad, so I could never understand what anyone was saying. The crew is very formal and sometimes curt and borderline rude. They just seem very inflexible and seem to put rules before people."

Prós: "Our return trip from Shannon to JFK was the best flying experience we have ever had. I requested an aisle seat for my 6'5" husband and we were given the emergency aisle. The flight crew was outstanding- Ashley and Hazel could not have been nicer to us. My TV set was broken in my seat but I did not care as I had a lot of reading to do. It was an outstanding return trip from a wonderful time in Ireland"

Contras: "Long delay along with abysmal customer service--they forced an elderly woman in a wheelchair to climb mutliple flights of stairs without assistance, which caused her very evident pain."

Prós: "flight on time"

Prós: "The United has the option to stream on your device for this short leg. All you need is an app. It was very convenient. This is the future. Use your own device, headphones etc."

Prós: "The flight attendants were kind. I cannot say much about the boarding process. They boarded from the front of the plane to the back (which is the least efficient way of boarding), but I was travelling in a wheelchair, so I received priority boarding."
Contras: "I fell asleep before the plane even took off - it had been a long day. Because of this, I missed the snack and beverage cart. When I awoke, I was very thirsty. I could tell I was dehydrated. I asked the flight attendant for a beverage, and she prepared a glass for me and grabbed a Coke. Then asked for $2.50. I didn't have any money on me. I also have never known a flight to charge for your first non-alcoholic beverage. The seats were cramped. I have short legs, but my knees were an inch or so from touching the seat in front of me. When the person in front of me leant back, they were practically in my lap. I also did not have much space between me and the person beside me. The rows were three deep, and I sat near the window. Getting up to use the restroom, I was practically crawling on the other passengers' laps. There was no in-flight entertainment, but I wouldn't have expected it out of such a short flight (~2 hours from Dublin to Lisbon)."

Contras: "Delayed numerous times, lack of communication, incorrect time stated by the pilot regarding landing time (off by an hour). Cabin crew worked very slowly down the flight delivering service and carts were set up in a strange way so they kept asking each other for different products - longest snack service I've seen on a flight."

Prós: "Grainne from Aer Lingus upgraded me when I checked in. It made for a fantastic flight where I could sleep, eat, drink, and be merry"

Prós: "All flights to Toronto were delayed due to weather, which really wasn’t bad, but these things happen. The crew, however, weren’t empathetic at all. When it came to food, they ran out and again their empathy was quite lacking. Air Canada really needs to step up their people skills. They will lose customers to airlines that demonstrate that they care (eg WestJet) if they keep this up. This is not an isolated experience for me. They have lost us as a customer. I won’t fly Air Canada again if I have other options, and I’m willing to pay more for the same flight just to avoid them."

Everyone on the canceled flight had to be aggressive at getting a new flight booked because there was no help. Every time you asked an associate from Aur Canada for help, the passed the problem off not taking any responsibility. If your name is on my ticket, then it's your responsibility. Worst experience traveling by far. Also lost over a day of my expensive trip that I've been waiting to go on for awhile and saved my money for a year. I lost hundreds of dollars in events and hotels. Avoid Air Canada if possible"

Contras: "The customer service line through telephone was not very helpful and seemed to cause more worry when we ran into a problem with our flight."

Contras: "Over 4 hour flight. No food (not even pretzels). A few old movies. Flight delay with no communication. I only noticed when I was checking in at the kiosk and noticed that my one hour layover was now a 5 minute layover. Rebooked. When I arrived at destination, no notice that next flight was delayed, even though it was over 3 hours late. Thought I only had 1 hour to go through US immigrations and customs. Ran to the other end of the airport to be on time. Aircraft wasn't even at airport and flight was over 3 hours late. They couldn't have posted that so we didn't have to run across the airport? Changed gates, but no announcement. One other flyer was looking at the board and called out to the group waiting that there was a gate change. Left Vancouver at 8:00 am, arrived in Boston at 1:30 am. Won't fly with Air Canada again."

Prós: "Once I made my flight (the next day) everything went smoothly"
Contras: "Online checkin does not inform passenger if their passport is suitable for travel. Although my online checkin was successful, once at the airport the attendant would not allow boarding because expiration was within 6 months of travel - a requirement for certain countries. It would be much more efficient - for airline and passengers - if the online check in system can catch this before arrival at the airport."

Prós: "The food was pretty good!"
Contras: "*The in-flight entertainement required you tonise your own mobile devices, but locks "premium" content (movies) and forces you to install an app to view it - which you can't do once your on the plane and have no wifi. Also, there's no way my iPad would've lasted 7h without a charging port anyways..."

Prós: "Seats were ok but a bit cold all the way."
Contras: "One hour late leaving, no reason or information given. Food was awful with green sauce on chicken and celery bits in milk for salad, the connecting flight was cancelled and the option was another flight in two days. The only flight going later that evening was full and the next day was full also they said. An hour later a bus service was offered leaving in ten minutes which many of us raced to catch on our own with no one to show us how to get to the bus. The bus we were told to look for was the wrong bus. Of course our luggage didn't make it and that took another hour to register at our destination as every one else on the bus didn't get their luggage either. Bus driver got lost but passengers were able to show him the way. This is the third time in four flights Air Canada has lost our luggage. The worst was the NO ONE ever smiles, we were watching for it, and certainly NO ONE ever says we are sorry you are inconvenienced which would go a long way to make the delays and changes more tolerable."

Contras: "One of my three flights was unnecessarily delayed by two hours, enough that I missed my last connection and had to stay overnight in Vancouver. There were no technical complications or weather complications. It was simply because something had been misscheduled and the flight crew needed a longer rest time between flights. This is completely avoidable, and the attendent who checked me in even said so. While the hotel and shuttle were paid for, Air Canada only gave me a $7 breakfast voucher, which was only redeemable at the hotel's measly breakfast counter rather than anywhere in the airport. For the unnecessary delays I had to deal with, i should had received more credit. This was an utterly disappointing travel experience."

Contras: "Flight was delayed even though the plane was at the gate."

Contras: "Last time I traveled to Canada I probably used a passport. BUT I never knew that I needed it I thought u could travel with my drivers lisence. Remind travelers to take their passport"

Contras: "The check in crew needs better training on immigration documents for flights connecting to US. They also need to be familiar with the Canadian Transit documentation requirements."

Contras: "Small legroom and poor selection in the entertainment provided via wifi"

Prós: "Crew was late on first leg delayed 3 hours than nobody to close the cabin door from outside ,missed connecting flight. Than did not have inventory in Chicago to out up in hotel had to pay out of my pocket and to this day can't get hold of customer service to get claim resolved. Sent through email and nothing. Even went down to my airport in Phoenix to speak and no help. Also lost bag as well. Which later found by united not air Canada. Unbelievable"

Contras: "Got delayed for almost two hours so rush hour in Japan was my welcome party and it was horrible, when you are on a tight schedule two hours is two much, lost my flight connection to Hiroshima, had to go on bullet train which added 4 more hours instead of 1:25 on a plane."

Prós: "We got there safe."
Contras: "Got to airport in morning only to find out flight delayed 3.5 hours. No prior notification so instead of waiting in my comfortable home I got to wait at airport. Check in lady was a witch - sorry I made you do your job. Bounced my luggage for being 3 lbs over. Lame excuse of plane mechanical problems for delay. My girlfriend flew same flight 10 days earlier and had same thing happen. If Air Canada has that many mechanical issues I'm not feeling warm and fuzzy about them."

Contras: "Plane was broken. Air condition did not worked. Flight was 2.5 hours late. Missed our connection to Budapest."

Contras: "Without notice, flight was delayed more than 3 hours."

Prós: "The price could not be beat and the leg room was decent."
Contras: "Food was pretty sad and we could not hook up out iPad to the entertainment options because we didn't download an app beforehand."

Prós: "The entertainment options were decent. Food wasn't bad. The crew courteous and helpful."
Contras: "The booking and ticketing department for Air Canada messed up quite a bit with our trip overall. It wasn't just one narrow event: even after the delayed flight, and 6 hour phone call to get rebooked, we had to use international roaming charges at the Shanghai airport to call and get them to correct an error they made with our flight out of Shanghai. The flights themselves were alright, but I want to use every opportunity I have to complain about the booking and customer service process."

Contras: "10:30am flight delayed for three hours. They moved my flight to 7:30am and no one told me. Someone claims they did not have my email address. The thing is, I received at least three emails prior to the flight from AirCanada, one was my itinery. So whoever couldn't find my email address must be looking on another planet or something."

Prós: "Entertainment was great, and actual seats were comfortable."
Contras: "The canbin temperature was kept far too low; unless you are forced to buy some over priced blanket"
