They were speaking loudly, sometimes over each other, as though at a house party for the duration of the 5 hour OVERNIGHT flight. This isnt the second time I have flown long distance with Air Canada and the 'frat party' in the back occurred on both flights. The first time was much worse-12 hours from Seoul to Toronto- with the party going on the entire time. LOW BUDGET service and attitude at major carrier prices."

Contras: "When checking in for our flight, AirCanada prompted me to select which passengers' email addresses should be used to send updates in case of changes, delays, or cancelations. I selected the both of us to receive the updates. However, we never got any notice that our flight was CANCELLED. They cancelled it well in advance that had we known, we wouldn't have gone to the airport but NO - we already arrived and passed through security only to arrive out by the gates and see on the board it was cancelled. Even while passing through customs, the officer said he didn't see it on the flight schedule and then said, "oh it's just listed at a different gate." The way in which AirCanada handled the incident was completely unprofessional and just plain stupid. I for sure will be giving my business to Amtrak or Greyhound the next time I need a trip from NYC to Montreal."
Contras: "Flight cancelled until the next day and then delayed again without sufficient notice . Air canada hasn't offered us anything worth making up missing a day out of our vacation"

Contras: "Online checkin does not inform passenger if their passport is suitable for travel. Although my online checkin was successful, once at the airport the attendant would not allow boarding because expiration was within 6 months of travel - a requirement for certain countries. It would be much more efficient - for airline and passengers - if the online check in system can catch this before arrival at the airport."
Prós: "I liked the clean cabin, decent service during meals and overall amenities offered. The plane itself was quite nice and more comfortable than most."
Contras: "The food seemed to be quite a small portion. The chicken entree was normal size, but lacking in taste. The side was also bland in flavor but a good mix of veggies. I would have enjoyed another small snack, such as cheese and crackers or some such. The movie list was fairly good with somewhat recent items. The TV list was lacking in choices, it seemed. However, that may be the content of modern TV. Access to the toilets were often hindered by staff, especially in the rear of the cabin. We were 45 minutes late. I was already booked on a flight 5+ hours later, which was nice. However, I was given a only a food voucher of 31CHF. The amount was wonderful, but they offered this at a time when I had already eaten on the plane and was not hungry at all. I could only buy a few things to eat or take with me, and the rest of the amount was wasted. Alternatives, could have been a partial refund, a visa gift card, an upgrade on my flight back, etc."

Contras: "*The in-flight entertainement required you tonise your own mobile devices, but locks "premium" content (movies) and forces you to install an app to view it - which you can't do once your on the plane and have no wifi. Also, there's no way my iPad would've lasted 7h without a charging port anyways..."
Prós: "Staff were incredibly kind, courteous, and knowledgeable. I need wheelchair assistance and they handled that beautifully, asking thoughtful questions about my needs and adapting their plans to my answers. They also helped me with stowing my carry-on since I would have struggled alone."
Contras: "Unfortunately, through no fault of the flight crew or gate crew, we got one of the few remaining planes in the fleet that are so old that they can't fit a full carry-on bag in the overhead bins or under the seats. Larger carry-on items had to be checked through to final destination, which made a lot of passengers upset -- either because they were business people who needed to be able to work on the flight, or they had important baby gear in there that they would need before that, or they were traveling far away using multiple airlines and were rightly worried about lost luggage."
Prós: "The plane was spacious with comfortable seats. Entertainment selections were a highlight. I liked that they offered your buds. Not nearly as bad as United despite some customer service issues."
Contras: "Our tables were dirty so we could not set our drinks and food on them. When we were boarding, one of the crew members was yelling at an older Asian lady. She was in the wrong seat but she obviously did not speak English. She was also of the age where she could have had dementia. He said that she was responsible for holding up the plane and the boarding process. On the return flight, I encountered a very rude boarding agent. Her actions warranted an apology, but I did not receive one. She just would not look at me."
Prós: "Meals were good and I do like the premium economy seats."
Contras: "One issue that the premium economy seats have is that they recline button is very stiff to push. Then when you have final pushed it in then push back on the seat it falls to the full recline position, potentially surprising the passenger behind. I thought this was isolated to this flight but have now encountered in 2 subsequent flights in AC premium economy."

Contras: "There was no USB port or an outlet on my seat to charge my cellphone."

Contras: "My headphone jack didn't work so it was hard to use the entertainment system as I had to hold the headphones in the right position for the entire flight - not a huge deal of course just inconvenient. My flight was also delayed and I could not make my connection..I understand delays happen but I don't understand why there was such little time between my first flight and my connection...seems silly. Luckily I was put on the next flight which I am very appreciative of."
Contras: "At first, due to condensation issue, a lot of water was dripping from ceiling to passenger seats and crews were just passing tissues and saying its natural and they cannot avoid this issue... I fly a lot through out the year and never seen this happening before. Okay, this can happen but how crews dealt with the issue was so unprofessional. Also, on my way back from ICN-YVR, my seat was right beside the washroom and the door of this washroom was not fully closed when it was not in use. Therefore, it lighted up all the time and smelled all the time as well. I complained this to one of crews and told her to close the door at least whenever she was passing by. She didn't do at all haha. Cannot believe this is one of Canada's major flight companies..."
Prós: "When there were unforseen delays. They just said too bad, here is a phone number you can call. It then took 2 hours to try and get someone on the phone. Once I finally was talking with someone, they said it would cost $200 to rectify the problem. I then got put on hold. When they came back they said it would be over $2000 to get home. Talk about trying to cash is on people's hard situations. I ended up flying WestJet. They were amazing."
Prós: "Attendant Wendy was fantastic in service and friendliness."
Contras: "Once again big guy put into seat 33F. Seat doesnt go back and no legroom."

I understand they were closing for the night, but we were told to call a number to rebook and turned away. And we had to hang out in the airport all night, until the first flight Monday morning. They only had one door open for boarding/security the next morning and we almost missed our flight!"

Contras: "They don't adequately warn you that you need to download an app to use entertainment system before you get on board. The wifi in the airport is terrible so not able to download app for all devices. The entertainment choices were very limited. For such a long flight, they should add more choices. Would not recommend Air Canada for light to/from Europe."

Contras: "They boarded and the moment everyone was seated, de-borded to change planes, resulting in a 2 hour delay. The crew was inattentive taking and delivering drink orders, which took an astounding length of time after payment, about 1 hour."
Prós: "The flight number was changed, but the new flight got in 45 mins earlier which is always a good thing. Every seat had a screen which kept me entertained."
Contras: "Being bumped off of our connecting flight home after a long international flight due to overbooking (even though we had checked in all the way through from our departure city). We got split up going home and the $800 voucher that we were promised was decreeased to $400. They also lost our bag due to the changes. The reason we didnt get priority for seats on our connection is because our first flight landed at the last minute and by the time we got to the gate, all but 1 seat were claimed on a furst come first served basis. All staff treated the entire thing as an "oh well tough luck". No empathy because they suck so bad, they're used to seeing angry customers."

Contras: "The departure postponed several times. The comfort in those parts of Toronto and Dulles airport which us Canada express is absent at all. There are no even seats enough for all passengers."

I know I haven't flown in over a year, but did all airlines stop passing out snacks. Make sure you bring your credit card in case you get hungry. They charge you for everything except basic drinks and make sure you use the latrine prior to boarding because they are too busy swiping the credit cards, they block the isle to get access to it."

Prós: "On time departure and arrival and a friendly crew helped keep this flight smooth despite some turbulence. The fact that there have been electrical outlets on this route for so long is a testimony to the Continental heritage."
Contras: "The seats in economy are just so tight that sleep on this short overnight flight was almost impossible. The lack of more recline (as in the recarro sears used on the LH/LX products) and short pitch make it hard to either work or sleep. The small plane size makes this sardine feeling worse and slows service to the rear of be craft."

Contras: "First, our flight was cancelled and they texted us with an alternative flight leaving a day later, with a 9 hour layover! Um, excuse me? Since this was a weekend trip we would have had to turn around and get back on a flight back to SF a few hours later. I called and they didn't even offer the option to refund the ticket! I finally got us on an alternative flight leaving earlier after waiting for 30 minutes to speak with a supervisor because the person I initially spoke with had no power to do anything to help. We ended up flying Alaska Airlines on the way there and I wish we had originally booked through them because the way back was AWFUL. They wouldn't seat my partner and I together because we were flying Economy class, which they reminded us of repeatedly when I complained. The agents claimed they had no power to do anything because of the computer system which randomly selects your seats. I asked what about people traveling with small children and they didn't seem to have an answer. Oh yeah, that's another thing. As if we got a better deal than with any other airline out there after all the bag fees. The Economy class/the majority of the people flying have no carry on allowance. By the way, when we got on the flight we were able to sit next to each other because the seats next to us weren't even occupied. Ridiculous. Never flying United again. I've been bumped off of flights and had bad experiences before but this was the last straw for me."
