Passengers were divided in 5 lanes, depending on their seating area withing the plane (for a more efficient boarding, I presume) but, by the time we all got to the actual aircraft, we formed another queue in the boarding bridge so it didn't feel like any time was saved or anything."

Bad communication with the client. They told us when I asked several times that we would not lose our connection and that everything was fine and that was not the case. We lost the connection. No one told us anything. Another problem was that the girl in the boarding process removed the suitcases tickets from the boarding pass and did not want to return them, and held it without any cause. Without that tickets we can not claim the bags. The flight staff went looking for us. Pretty sad and disappointed by their service. I understand that they were causes outside the airline but must communicate to the client. They cannot remain silent and say nothing."

I had to stand for about 50 minutes, either on the crowded bus or, after climbing with great difficulty three flights of stairs to a high jet-bridge (I am 76), standing there forever with 200 persons waiting to get access to the plane. Totally unacceptable. They started the boarding process early (50 minutes before departure), but passengers were allowed to actually board the plane at the time it was supposed to take off."

For the price I paid and the duration of my flight (12 hours from LAX-FCO) I wish I chose a different airline. that was the most uncomfortable flight I've had in a long time and I travel often."
Contras: "Initial flight from London to Rome left late, so missed connecting flight to Johannesburg. Although we were put up in a hotel and got a flight next day, missed another connecting flight, which was with another flight company and had to pay again to get another flight. No apology from the airline for the inconvenience this caused. The travel to South Africa was for an emergency and ended up getting there two days later."

Contras: "We arrived at the airport at 9:00 to check in for our flight that was scheduled for departure at 12:15 and we were told that we could not check in until 2 hours before the flight (10:15). All of the passengers for flight AZ1466 lined up in front of a check-in counter that displayed Alitalia for our flight. At 10:45 they announced the check in for AZ1466 at a different check-in counter knowing full-well that everyone was lined up for flight AZ1466 on our line. So then everyone that was lined up at the first counter had to line up at the new counter. My wife and I were initially 3rd in line and then after we had to move we were in the very back of the line. On top of that, they only had 1 person checking everyone into economy (which was most of the people on the plane) and they also had to weigh everyone’s carry-on baggage. We were initially told they had weather issues with the snow in Rome and they did not know if we would take off on time or would be cancelled. However, I was getting e-mail messages from Kayak stating our flight was on-time. So how is it that a 3rd party travel company knew what was going on, but the crew at Alitalia did not? Afterward I had to go through security, wait on the tax refund line, and go straight to board the plane. After that we waiting on the plane for 50 minutes and did not take-off until 1:05 PM. These were the problems in short: 1. No one informed us that we could not check in at this particular airport until 2 hours prior to flight departure. 2. They did not begin the check in process until 90 minutes prior to departure. 3. We had to switch check-in lines and they only had 1 check-in person. 4. We had no time to shop or eat lunch at the airport. 5. We boarded the plane and waited until 13:05 to takeoff when we were scheduled to take off at 12:15 (50 minute delay). 6. We received no communications about delays from Alitalia (via e-mail or app). However, we received e-mails from Kayak stating everything was on time. We had no communication from Alitalia about the delay or that we could not check in early (which you could do at every other airport I have been to). We also had a connecting flight in Rome that we were concerned we would miss. We arrived at Rome airport on a delayed flight out of Marco Polo airport (AZ1466). Our 13:40 flight to JFK (AZ610) was delayed until 14:45. After we arrived at Rome airport we ran through the airport to our gate and boarded the plane. After we boarded the plane we waited until 16:10 to take-off (85 minute delay). We did not receive any communication from Alitalia via e-mail, the Alitalia app, or crew members that our flight was being delayed any longer than it already was. We planned on stopping to use the bathrooms in the airport, eat a decent lunch, and shop (which I promised my wife we could do at the airport). First bag should be free/ nominal charge or at least part of the ticket price. (It is like a restaurant charging for cutlery and plates so you can eat . Would that be acceptable??)"

The management at the Alitalia desk at the airport was not up to the task of reassigning everyone. Understaffed and under equipped (staff was unable to get online to reschedule and re-issue new boarding passes) We are senior travelers (75 and 80 years old) and were forced to stand in lines for 3 hours We're headed to the airport now, the next day, and I am dreading the experience."

Contras: "The flight was only supposed to take two hours but instead they sat around for another hour and a half or so and then there was so little leg room that my knees even if I was all the way against the back wall showed into the seat in front of me so bad that I had to stick them out in the aisle and said crooked and then my seat would not latch"

Contras: "I tried to talk with the service desk to change my flight before the flight and the service team could not help me out because only the service desk outside security could look up other fights. I find this hard to believe and a little ridiculous that AirItalia would make their customers run around inside and outside security to switch flights. We live in a day of technology and have computers for a reason. There shouldn't be an issue why other flights can be looked up from only one computer. In addition, we boarded the plane and then we waited on the tarmac for 2 hours waiting to leave. The air was turned off and it was hot and stuffy inside the plane."

Contras: "We were not able to print our boarding passes for our connecting flight in Berlin and thus were forced to check in again for our flight to Rome. The system did not have the update and we were forced to wait over an hour with the agent. We nearly missed our flight."

Contras: "The seats were the most uncomfortable my husband and I have ever experienced. The huge headrest forced us to sit bent in a C shape with our heads bent down, no way to sit normally and relax. It was pretty close to torture for a long flight. I just wanted to rip the thing off the back of the seat. I will never fly on a B777 again if I can help it. Its particularly rich when the captain comes on the address system and tells us to sit back and ENJOY the flight. Additionally, boarding started a full hour before scheduled departure, then the flight was delayed an additional 45 minutes while they waited for somebody's luggage. If you boarded early, you got to enjoy sitting there nearly 10 hours for an 8 hour flight."
Contras: "The flight crew was very rude, never answered call bells, were drinking and socializing in the back of the plane. Worst airline I've flown by far and I'm an avid traveler."

Contras: "I paid for an air plane, not a shuttle bus! I waited in the check in line for 2 hours and then they said they would arrange a bus from Marrakesh to Casablanca. So instead of 40 minutes flight, we spent 3 hours in a hot hot bus from Marrakech to Casablanca. And the bus was not even a comfortable regular bus. It was for 15 people shuttle ban. What is more surprising is that because they did not check-in us from Marrakech, and the staffs who put us on the bus did not communicate Royal Air Maroc in Casablanca, they cancelled our family flight reservations to the U.S.A. after we paid the full price! Oh...I forgot to mention that we could not have water or lunch all day long with young kids."
Contras: "A whole bank of monitors (at least 6, maybe more that I could not see behind me) in the center part of the cabin was non-functional during the entire 7 hour flight, despite one crew member promising to restart or reboot the system. While he did eventually reboot, it made no difference. The monitors did not work the entire flight."

Contras: "Boarding was completely disorganized with people boarding late and then allowing fully half of the passengers to board at one time, clogging the aisle and thereby making the process take even longer. Once all were settled it became a question of "where is...?" As passengers had checked in but not boarded. We sat at the gate an additional hour as boarding passes were checked, sky lounge was checked, etc."
Contras: "Passport control at airport in Casablanca was awful. Very very slow with people getting increasingly anxious about missing their flights and trying to move up in the line. The people checking passports were very slow and seemingly unaware of the tumult happening in line. No one was managing it. We arrived at airport 2.5 hours ahead of take-off and the plane was loading by the time we got to the gate."
Prós: "It was a very short flight. Nice and pleasant"
Contras: "To start, the flight never happened. The flight was cancel one WHOLE hour after it was supposed to take-off. Then we get told that they were going to bus us to a larger airport that was THREE hours away. We where told that when we arrive at this airport that there would be hotel accommodations for us and that the agents there will make arrangements for thise with a connecting flight. It was all lies. We arrive at the airport after riding a 2-star bus for three hours inly to be told that they had no idea what we were talking about and that no one told them we where coming. Then we were told that there were no hotel rooms available in the whole city (lie) and that all of the available cars to take us to an available hotel where in another city (another lie). On top of that, if you missed a connecting flight on a different airline, you where screwed. I had to buy a whole new ticket just to get home. It was insane!!! So basically a plane full of people were jerked around and lied to by every employee of this airport that we met. Completely disgusting. If you can avoid it, never ever fly Royal Air Maroc."

Contras: "The food, yogurt and a cheese sandwich was frozen. There were no female flight attendant. the attendant didn't speak very good English, French or Portuguese. The boarding process was not well organized. Some of the people seemed to not know how to act on a plane picking whatever seat they wanted and then arguing with the people that actually had the seats as well as getting up while the plane was still taxing."
Contras: "They cancelled our reservation the day before our flight for no reason, without notice, and didn't explain why. We had to fight literally an hour before take off to get our seats back. They didn't extend an apology or even an explanation as to why the airline simply cancelled our reservations which we had paid for over an month in advance. During all 4 legs of our trip (N.Y. to Casablanca; Marakech to Fez; Casablanca to Lisbon; and Lisbon to N.Y.) customer service was extremely slow and poor, many of the staff members seemed to not like their job because of how unpleasant they were. The breakfast is three different types of carbs and no nutritional value. I will never fly the so-called 'Royal' air Maroc again. Very unprofessional staff."

How could our 2 year old and six year old twins be away from both parents, sitting with strangers for all those hours. The crew member with the outstanding mustache rectified it all. He placed us together, then negotiated with the people who the seats were assigned to. No other crew members would help!!!"

Was was upsetting was they had a big ad at the airport about trying their last minute upgrade deal but when I did that they ended up charging me more than if I had paid for business class online. Prós: "Our flight was cancelled and no notice given. We were treated like a dog when we tried to get help from the RAM supervisor. I've been try for a week now to get a cancellation letter from the airlines so my travel insurance will rememburse me the extra $1800 I had to spend on new flights to get home. I was told by the airlines they may look at my case sometime in the next 30 days to give me the letter I need. Really! All you have to do is hit a key on your computer to kick one out. Never again with these guys!"
Prós: "Crew was not friendly or very welcoming."
Contras: "The entire back of the plane was nearly empty. As was an overnight flight, we went back to ask if we could sit in back to stretch out and sleep. We were told that "police" were there, and that we weren't allowed into the back. That seemed very strange - we did see a few people back there stretched out, but we had to stay put in the middle cabin and sit up to sleep the night through. It would be nice if some vegetarian food were offered."
