Prós: We were able to bring our normal size backpacks as personal items even though they were certainly larger than the tiny personal item size limit.

Contras: We had a terrible experience with getting checked in online and adding a checked bag. Numerous issues getting in touch with the company and the call centre staff was rude and unhelpful. The website is glitchy. The fee for bringing checked luggage was very high. We won't use this airline again.

Contras: Better management of certain unruly passengers causing a scene by taking seats which were not for them because they can’t be bothered to book two seats together during the booking process and try and take a short cut when it comes to getting on the plane.

Contras: The boarding gate was not posted until 25 min before plane was scheduled to depart, the departure was 20 min late, Customs at Lisbon took 1.5 hours for a simple stamp on my American passport. The aircraft was packed full, not even water was offered without charge, the service even at that was barely fast enough to make one pass of the passengers before landing, the aisles were continually blocked with service carts selling so how are you supposed to make a bathroom break?

Contras: We were stuck in the runway for an hour before taking off. I was late for my connection.

Although we were running late the door was still open and she closed it in front of us and did not let us board the plane making us miss the last flight of the day and for the whole weekend. Contras: I checked in online or so I thought and when I got to the airport they charged us 45pounds a piece nearly $200 simply to check-in. I qualify as an experience flier (likely 1600-1700 flights) over my career. While $200 doesn't ruin our vacation it was clearly theft. Services theft.

Prós: The crew was very good. And the flight was on time.

Contras: The seats cannot recline. They were stiff as a board. Completely uncomfortable! No complimentary drinks, not even watter!?

Prós: TAP always has great team members and crew. They are polite, professional and helpful. The flight itself is comfortable and relaxing; very enjoyable.

Contras: TAP does not check your bags all the way through if you are having a layover. This makes NO SENSE and requires that you retrieve your luggage from baggage claim, and then check in once more and then another trip through security once again! This never happens in the US - one of the few things we get right. Also, I have never had to board a plan from the tarmac since 1970 in the US - why do we have to always wait for and take buses from our check in gate out to the flight line? And how is this ever considered, "Premium Boarding?" It's like a cattle car. Fix these things and I will sing the praises of TAP forever.

Prós: New airbus neo great entertainment set up and comfortable seats . Excellent food in economy and very professional crew with personality

Contras: Economy fare was great until 95 euro for a single bag added to stowage was added on . With Ridiculously high baggage charges watch out if you are flying economy. Sort of negates the benefits of economy
