Seats are unexpectedly big and very comfortable together with functional well designed pockets beside the screen, where I could put my personal items. New and clean cabin."

The one that was suppose to fly out at 12:50 on 1/6/18 delayed until 17:25 (with acceptable communication the first delay) but then later delayed till 00:10 after I’ve already arrived at the airport early for the 17:25 departure. The screens with arrivals and departures posted that Checkin was open but there was no JAL staff to answer questions. Then getting an update “maybe” the 00:10 flight is cancelled? What is maybe cancelled and JALs phone messege still said the flight would depart at 00:10. So I go back to JFK because after all “maybe” isnt a definitive and according to all the direct JAL sources the flight is suppose to depart, I get to JFK the second time only to be given a printout saying the flight is cancelled with no rebooking, and to call for assistance. The same number is been calling for hours trying to get answers. coukdnt reschedules because I’m calling outside of business hours! I spent $200 on cab rides going back and forth to JFK to go nowhere, get no apology, no new flight booking, and no reimbursement for transportation."

One of the male stewards was appalling towards a young mum I sat next too...too the extent of giving her dirty looks because she spilled a bit of water on the seat and then told her she had to pack everything away she was using, including the baby wipes! I stepped in and told him how this was not ok and all other staff members were helpful and he was making this Mum upset. He should not be working for such a people friendly reputable airline! Maybe Jetstar instead! Was appalled at the entire flight to be honest!"

The entire flight was very comfortable and made the 9 hour journey from Manchester to Houston Texas fast and enjoyable. The flight attendants always had a wonderful smile which felt genuine many a time and always made an effort to speak at the level of the passenger. When I had trouble connecting to the Wifi, one attendant even knelt down and connected my phone manually as I was not tech savvy in this regard. The food was of much higher quality as well compared to other airlines I traveled with on this trip."

Contras: "I picked a window seat very early on through a phone call to a Turkish Airline agent in the USA, but when I checked in online, the seat assigned to me was gone and I was put in a middle seat while there were many other seats available. This erasure of the record and random seat assignment nullify the effort on the part of the passenger (making a call is not a trivial act these days because of the long waits) and generate uncertainty in the minds of the travellers. Hope you can improve on this point. That will make an even better impression on the passengers."

Contras: "Staff not very Helpful. Really bad security check for USA travelers. Airport security is really out dated, zero technology, not even a metal detector before the gates. They woke up a 15 month baby 3 times for security check. Who does that."

Contras: "Rows are too close, with my knees pressed against the seat in front of me. That is misery for the 10-hour flight from Chicago to Istanbul. We had a much better experience when we flew Turkish Airlines a few years ago. Sad!"
Contras: "The international transfer line in Istanbul was an absolute nightmare. I had to jump to the front of the line or I would have missed my connection despite having a 90 minute window of time to make it through. It seems this airport lacks the capacity needed to get people through efficiently based on the numbers of travelers using it."
Prós: "Food in business class was excellent"
Contras: "Boarding was chaotic. No preferential early boarding for business class or Star Alliance platinum."
Prós: "I enjoyed the flight to Istanbul but on the return flight they told me at the exit door of the plane that my stroller for the kids will be in baggage claim. The stroller was. It in baggage claim, the Turkish airline representative could not help or prove de a phone number for me to contact somebody indicating although she has the Turkish airlines uniform she works for swissport. 90 minutes later they said they might send the stroller to my house if found and that I may have to cover the cost as Turkish airlines will not....... terrible service terrible experience and I will never fly with Turkish airlines again"
Contras: "Their audio system is very bad."
Prós: "The flight attendants were lovely, they worked smoothly and did their best to manage an unpleasant situation. The facilities are also excellent, and as always, the fresh flowers and hand lotion and such in the toilets was a nice touch."
Contras: "The food was not up to standard this flight, mostly passable, but our pasta inexplicably tasted chlorinated, as if the noodles had ben boiled in pool water. It's a mild complaint, though. Plane food isn't always sterling. The true problem, unfortunately, was in the form of other passengers. Despite having an excess of available space to stretch out, our seats were surrounded by utterly out-of-control children. Crying babies is understandable, it can't be helped, but if your children are running up and down the aisles [including during the landing], sitting on other passengers [myself in particular], and lying down in the aisle to sleep [and the flight attendant had to ask multiple people whose child that one was because no one wanted to own up, apparently] they have no business being on a plane. I don't even care about the annoyance at this point, their behaviour was inherently unsafe and the parents just didn't care."

Contras: "Our flight was canceled and we lost an entire day of our vacation (apartment rental, car rental, etc). Before leaving to Istanbul when we were in New York we asked if they would reroute our flights from New York City to Naples, Italy since the terrorist attack occurred in Istanbul causing the airport to be shut down. We were reassured that there would be no problems and we would be rerouted once we landed in Turkey, and lo and behold our flights were canceled. We had to spend the day in Turkey, pay for our own food, and pay for the visa €30 per person. This all could have been avoided had they rerouted our flights to another city."
Prós: "THe plane left on time and arrive on time"
Contras: "You canceled our flight and didn't bother to email us about it. Had I not had a friend with me who spoke Turkish fluently I would have been unable to communicate with you enough to figure this out. The desk services were incredibly rude and disrespectful."

Contras: "The guy sitting next to me who was upset that I had to go to the bathroom."

I recommend verifying all meals twice before 48 hours out. On a 7+ hour flight this is not fun."

Prós: "This was my first international flight, and also first on Lufthansa, and I was thoroughly impressed. We traveled with another couple who've flown internationally multiple times, but this was their first Lufthansa flight as well, and they said it's the best they'd had. The crew were all excellent, friendly, and accommodating. There was plenty of entertainment options, refreshments, and snacks. The food was very good-much better than I'd expected. I appreciated that there were pillows, blankets, and headphones readily available as well. I'll try to fly Lufthansa every chance I get when flying internationally."
Prós: "Check-in was quick, only 4 parties ahead of me even though I arrived at the airport only 60 minutes prior to departure. Cleared security quickly too. Aircraft new and clean. Breakfast, excellent omelet, and crew extremely attentive to our needs- offering 2 drinks instead of other airlines which just give one and makes you feel that is all you deserve."
