I was under the assumption the extra charge would give me a seat with only one extra person next to me. Contras: "Upon boarding, the agents in the airport gave us a hard time over a bag that definitely met carry-on requirements. Almost made us check it, and then changed their mind last minute. Very unnecessary/dramatic situation, especially since we flew with that bag via carry-on multiple times (and on even smaller planes)."

Contras: "The seats were uncomfortable and way to close. When the person in front of me leaned their seat back, I was forced to do the same. It was nearly impossible to eat. If you had a hint of claustrophobia, you would never make this entire trip without going nuts. I noticed that many of the middle seats were unoccupied, while my family and I were crammed into four seats side-by-side. If we had empty seats between us the flight would have been bearable."
Prós: "There was a half hour delay due to some no-show passengers. The flight was delayed while their bags were removed. The problem was explained well. The flight crew seemed to made up for much of the delay by flying faster or more directly so the total flight time did not increase by 30 minutes. Fortunately this was our final flight segment so the delay was not a problem."

Contras: "Not even a smile from the purser and one other crew member on the Swedish leg. The captain hurriedly "explained", no one understood him, why we were so delayed, but he did not apologize! Zurich airport has no charging sockets! (Ancient) All of terminal A has not a single one! No one supervised the loading passengers not to interfere with those passing by. It was a complete mess. We took off 50 minutes late from Zurich, with no apparent reason. Worst in years for me. We sat in the plane for 30 minutes and were not offered even water. Big fail! (btw, I am unusually so critical)."
Prós: "Swiss is already a great company and yesterday it just got better : I got upgraded on business class between Geneva and New York and it was a very nice treat, the service was perfect, the food excellent, the seat was very comfortable. Thank you SWISS !"

Contras: "Everything was very good except the TV screen on my wife's seat malfunctioned after the first movie watched. The crew "tried" to fix it but nothing happened, not blaming them specifically but I don't think they were to concerned about one customer with no entertainment. After a long while it started working again. It was a long flight to not have entertainment the whole duration of the flight. Besides this little problem it was a very good flight. Crew very professional and nice."

Prós: "Crew was as helpful as they could be. A man fell ill during the flight and was carried into first class be the crew. There were screaming little kids placed all over economy with parents that did nothing about their high pitched screaming and I do mean screaming and screeching as a form of communication. There was only one much younger child that was in real distress and the Mom and Dad walked up and down the aisles trying to comfort that child and not disturb others passengers. The rows of seats were so close together that when the person in front of me reclined, I could not. get up from my seat and it was on the aisle! The young man sitting next to me just stood on the seat to climb out. We could have made an earlier flight, but the manger of the reservation desk in Tel Aviv was too lazy to check to see if we could switch to the earlier flight was easily make able with lots of seats, but I couldn't do it on line and she was busy talking to her friends. As a result, we had a 6 hour lay over in Zurich that was unnecessary."

Contras: "JFK-Madrid flight got delayed by 3 hours which would cause me to miss my connection for Madrid-Split (~2 hour layover), I asked the Iberia representatives at JFK about changing the flight and they reassured me that “the connecting flight would hold for us” and “no need to change our flight”. To our surprise the connecting flight already left when we arrived to Madrid. It’s clear that this was a case of “not our problem” from the JFK Iberia ticket agent. Rather than helping us find a viable alternative for our flight (namely a flight that doesn’t arrive more than a full day later) before leaving for Madrid they shipped us to Madrid where there were poor/no options for getting to Split at the original planned time. I’m very upset that I’m going arrive more than a day late to my destination and that I was blatantly lied to by the Iberia agent at JFK, never ever going to book a flight with Iberia again."

I certainly wouldn’t chose to fly them again if I had an alternative tho they are better than that horror Vueling whose seats were so close together that I was unable to sit with my legs straight because the leg room was so little."

Prós: "For a long haul, Iberia's standard class was fine and the seat actually had more room than I expected (having flown them in Europe). One flight attendant was AWESOME and helped me out when my gluten-free meal didn't arrive. I would say she went from ok to friendly so maybe not AWESOME but compared to the other flight attendants who weren't friendly at all, she was good."
Contras: "1. My gluten-free meal didn't arrive. AA pulled the same nonsense when I went from LAX to LHR. It is pretty infuriating. 2. My entertainment screen failed about 1/2 way through the flight. I came prepared but it was still annoying. 3. I pre-paid for a seat which was a hassle because the transaction failed with a cryptic message online and I had to call. When I went to check-in, I had a window, not aisle and was positioned at the very back of the plane. I requested a refund on the phone and that wasn't allowed so I tweeted (as they adverstise) and now filled a claim. Still no response."

Prós: "My flight was transferred from Kayak to Iberia to American to another third party who would not answer questions and who did not send any confirmation info at all. Boarding should be from the back first to speed it up. It was not. Crew did not have wide variety of refreshments. Seats were much too narrow and there was no leg room. Food helpings were much too small for a long flight. Controls very poor."

Prós: "This was a small airplane and a very quick flight. It was pretty standard as a whole."
Contras: "They cancelled the flight, losted the baggage and couldn't help to resolve the problem. They also lied about the flight they wanted to replace to solve the problem which even didn't exist in their company. So, I will never ever take the flight from this compound again."
Prós: "Center aisle seat was comfortable and pnethy of room for my carryon overhead and underseat."
Contras: "I would like to see all TAP planes come with a standard entertainment option on the headrest in front of you with the advanced menu option of movies, games, radio, etc. and ensure all headphone jacks are operational. (Thisnflight the screen was messed up...not something you want to look at for 8 hours. ) I couldn't eat half the food because the salad wasn't anything but cabbage and a tomato and the corn and meat dish was cold and weird. I don't know what the dessert was but I got it down. I think the sandwich I got before landing was pesto and mayonnaise but I'm not sure. I didn't get much of it down before gagging. I wish when booking a flight you were given the menu or you could choose early in the flight and then be served. I bet it would cut down on wasted food and money."

Prós: "The ride was comfortable, and the crew was attentive and pleasant. I loved the fact that i had a 10 hour layover, and I could go out into the city and do some sight seeing. This is not to the Airlines credit per say, but it was super easy. I enjoyed getting off on the tarmac just 200 feet from the building, was a nice sunny day."
Contras: "The seats did not have entertainment system that I wasn't going to watch anyways. The seats did not have charging ports either (for phone or laptop), which several airlines now a days are making standard."

Once on the plane, things only got worse. I'm a small person- only 5'4" and even I had no leg room! This was made worse when the seat in front reclined- very claustrophobic. There were also zero entertainment options."

Also, the seats were pretty small - I am 6"4 and was in a seat that did not recline (in front of emergency exit row)"
Contras: "I purchased this ticket 4 months prior to flying....traveled half way around the world and the flight was oversold. I was bumped and left with people meeting in another country waiting for no one to show up. Go to hell TAP Portugal Airlines."

I ended up taking an earlier flight on another airline. Would not recommend this airline."

Contras: "We flew from MAS to MAD via LIS. The first flight was delayed sfor 3 hours o we had to stay overnight. It took the stuff over 1 hour to finally get us out of the arrival gate and the hotel was 30 mins away from the airport. Plus, we can't get our bags or anything, meaning we had to wear the same clothes for over 36 hrs in the humid and hot weather. TAP stuff gave us the first flight boarding pass and told us to be in the hotel lobby at 5:30, and they will pick us up and get us to the airport to catch our flight. Next morning, we Got picked up, and when we get to the check in counter, they told us the flight is already closed and we have been rebooked for the flight 3 hours later. We followed all the directions, got up at 4, and ended up waiting in the airport for another 4 hours (4.5 yesterday) miserably. If you are gonna to rebook us for a later flight, at least let us take some rest... On what earth an airplane company can operate like this irresponsibly? If you reapect your time, seriously, NEVER FLY TAP."

This experience that I experienced at the departing gate was unprecedented, worse than the worse charter flight from a third world country decades ago!!! Apparently Transavia has "Sky Serv" employees doing their departing gate work, and they are the worse I have encountered in my life. Rude, irresponsible, talking back to customers when they dared ask them a question, not caring about anything let alone the comfort of the customers, or advising them of status of departure. As a result, they allowed a line to form for boarding, with all the relevant shoving and pushing, including older people standing and being pushed in line, as the Shy Serv employee went behind the departure desk and THE TIME OF DEPARTURE HAD COME, so it was natural for all to stand up in line thinking they will board, while the ARRIVING PLANE HAD NOT EVEN ARRIVED. And when I realized that (also in line) I asked the Sky Serv employee who appeared as the supervisor, why are they not telling the people that so they can sit down, the answer was "we didn't tell them to stand up"!!! When I told them that I thought it was just considerate to do that, he was joined in defence by his colleagues saying "no-one told you or anybody else to stand up, you and they did". As if this was not enough, when finally the plane came, people debarked, and plane was made ready to board, we were asked to board, only to stop us on the middle of the the boarding bridge and stand there for 15 minutes with no one to tell us anything, until a member of the plane crew came out to advise us of the delay and allow us to proceed to the plane. NEVER AGAIN WILL I FLY TRANSAVIA, or any airline that has "Sky Serv" as it's ground handlers!!!!"

It took 3 full days for me to get my luggage. I contacted via Facebook and email and basically just got the response of I have to wait until it arrives at the airport and the best advice they could give was to call the Seville airport. I mentioned multiple times in my email and message that I did not have phone service. I showed up to the airport everyday to see if it made it in finally it did on day 3. It wasn’t until 5 days later that they even contacted me to say it had arrived but I had already picked it up. Very disappointing."

We talked ied WhatsApp Facebook tweeter. All takes like one hour to get response. In the end flights can’t be rescheduled we had to book new flights ourselves and find hotel to stay. They won’t cover for hotel either. The flights refund is now funded to Kiwi which we also need to find time to argue with Kiwi to get back. DOnt know how long that may take. The overall experience has been terrible"

If that’s the approach then more people should be there responding WhatsApp comments not like no response within one hour. Kiwi is of no help as well. If flights get canceled agents should provide us updates as well. When we contacted kiwi in the airport Kiwi even denied flight cancel."

The whole experience has made me decide to never use them ever again."
