Prós: "The flight was great once we left the ground, however having flown to the destination (Japan) in Premium Economy, the differences in experience were striking."
Contras: "The boarding crew seemed disorganized, the flight boarded 30 mins late and so we were delayed when it came time to taxi and take off. The flight had numerous crying babies on it, it was warm and stuffy once in flight, the crew brought you meals you didn't have a say in ordering and having to sit for an undetermined amount of time with the used tray in front of you really made the modest space even more so. I love JAL but this flight was not one of the better ones for me. Not through any fault of the staff, they are top notch, but certainly this flight ranks as just "okay"."
Prós: "The thing I value the most is customer service, and JAL did a great job! The crew was pleasant, always quick to respond to passenger needs and were interested in quality service."

Prós: "Absolutely loved the flight. The flight staff was among the best I have flown with. In terms of service I could not have asked for any better. The seats were super comfortable with a great entertainment system/large screen. The layout essentially gave you a nearly private suite. The doos service was impeccable. The lavatories spotless, along with those cool Japanese bidets...first one I've seen on a plane. Overall, I loved the experience."
Contras: "Remarkably the one issue on this wonderful business class seat was a limited area of storage for small items, most significantly a lack of a pocket for a cell phone by the USB port. Also the armrest didn't rise when the seat was in upright mode."

Contras: "I have been flying JAL from HK to Boston numerous times and by far my favourite (over Cathay and don't even need to mention United). However this past trip gave me a new perspective. Given it is a Japanese airline and all, it is normal for them to be Japanese-centric. We had an a-hole sitting in front of us at 51F during our flight to Narita and he was trying hard to argue with us in English, and even told us to move to another seat. When I had the flight attendant (her name is Sako on flight JL736 on Jul 26) over to discuss (in English) she went to the guy in front of us and started apologizing to him. For what??? She then came back to us speaking in Japanese and brushed the issue away. Sorry, no this was not acceptable, even though my fiance was okay with the situation."

Contras: "The DC China Embassy web site clearly states that a valid APEC Business Card can be used in lieu of a Chinese visa. In spite of this I was denied boarding by JAL. It turns out the system is not fully in place, and eventually I was issued a 10 year multiple entry visa by way of apology. JAL did not waive cancellation fee, and I suffered considerable economic damages."
Prós: "Our flight from Tokyo to Beijing was very pleasant. The flight attendants were very polite and helpful. There was a lot more leg room than most American/European airlines we have taken. The food was quite good and we even got Häagen-Dazs ice cream."

In "biz class" you still had to rub elbows with your neighbor, something other airlines with newer planes have sorted out, but allowing extra space between seats.... but overall, for a short flight (not much longer than an average subway commute in NYC), it really was not a huge deal...."

Prós: "The employee at the checkin counter in Oslo set everything up for us regarding our wheelchair and walker. She was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and kind. She arranged for a pick up in Helsinki with the airport's crew. They helped us unload the plane and then had a personal accessible bus to take us from where we landed (outside of terminal) to the gate of our next departure. The crew were all extremely professional and efficient."
Contras: "The leg room is never enough on the long flights. The flight from Chicago to Helsinki at 10:00pm was not nearly as good as the flights from Oslo to Helsinki to Chicago. The crew was not as pleasant, the lights were not turned off until after 1:00 am and then turned on hours before the light "breakfast" was served."
Prós: "Pilots did a great job at Helsinki. There were a strong wind and rain. Crew was really sweet."
Contras: "There was a confusion with boarding passes in Helsinki. Some of passengers were waiting almost until beginning of boarding with no seat number. Also was a delay because they're waiting for a some passenger from a connecting flight . Seats haven't enough leg room for person 5"8 but crew and food was amazing."

Prós: "Well this was a first for me. The flight was overbooked and some one wanted to go to New York. Finn Air asked me if I would give up my seat they would get me on the next Finn Air flight to Chicago. I did and they even up graded me to business class on the next flight. It was the best flight experience of my life. Great food, hosts, and service. It was very comfortable the entire way."

Contras: "It may be not about flying process but airport environment or service. ARN airport was a bit cold even inside of the building . The WiFi was offered only limited time , which was very shorter than I expected but overall status with cosy mood made me as if I were at home . On the other hand , the finnair check in counter had only two , one of which was business and the other was economy it took about 40mins to send my luggage and check in ."

The attendants were gaga about a screaming baby but ignored the rest of us"

The flight itself was very pleasant, the crew very accommodating, & the food, snacks & beverages very good. The entertainment provided was certainly suitable for my tastes & kept me occupied for the majority of the trip. There was also blackout time provided for sleeping. The seats were a little cramped, but overall I rate my experience as very good."

Contras: "15 hours before the flight, I was locked out from the website to check in and secure seats. I then called British airways to do so and after 15 min of the agent trying to get seats, she told me that there was a shutdown and no passengers were able to do so and everyone had to book seats at airport. When I got to Heathrow, the agent told me that was not true and everyone was able to book online.. Misleading!"
Prós: "planned time of departure Fare potential for getting 5 seats so I could get a good nights sleep"
Contras: "Plane left 3 1/2 hours late due to a mysterious mechanical problem that caused them to taxi it away from the gate more than once. Relatively little communication from American whose flight it was. Scheduled departure 10 PM. Actual departure 1:30 AM I reserved a center aisle seat in a row that was completely empty a day or two before departure, hoping to get the whole row. Didn't work out. Just before we closed the doors a couple arrived at the row and took up three of the seats. Darn it. But I still got a good nights sleep. Wish there was an option to check N/A on several of the options above. I didn't speak to a crew member. I didn't eat or drink anything. I never turned on the entertainment system."

My husband's entertainment screen was broken and flickering so much that all shows/films were completely unwatchable. My screen began flickering 1/2way through a film."

Contras: "When I booked my ticket a month in advance, British Airways was going to charge me extra for trying to book my seating in advance. They told me it would be free if I called 24hrs before the flight. I called 24hrs before and they told me they could not book my seats because the airport owned the seating. My first flight was with American Airlines, they gave me a boarding pass, however for my leg with British Airways, I had to go get ANOTHER boarding pass to board the flight. This airline was very inconvenient and I felt scammed booking with them. I would not recommend this airline to anyone!"

Contras: "Worst experience ever. We waited on the tarmac for almost 4 hours, due a technical problem. Finally, they gave up attempting to solve the problem (at 3.30AM), and we disembarked. No assistance at all. No hotel. No meals. Rescheduling was a lengthy process. Staff was rude. Really a nightmare of an experience. Note to self: never ever fly again with SAS."
Prós: "Everything was on time!"
Prós: "I flew SAS from ewr to wro and back a d can't say enough good things about the company. The crew was very friendly and always smiling, the flight was quick and arrived early, the plane was very clean aND overall just great experience. Next flight I'll be looking to book with SAS. Contras: "Almost absent crew And almost no service. Made flight with United and with United connection. SAS lost my connection, told ME I canceled my reservation. What a mess that was! I could also not reserve any seats online because flight was partner united flight and neither airline would allow me to choose seats."
Prós: "Entertainment selection was very nice and the actual plane ride was smooth"
Contras: "Took over an hour delay for boarding due to air conditioning issues, then when we boarded we were told it was 35 Celsius until they start the engines. Then took an additional hour once boarded to take off due to traffic. Completely missed my connecting flight"

Contras: "While boarding, a crew member neglect to help me finding space on the bins for my carry on luggage with a very rough answer. However same crew member kindly attend people coming next to my wife and me. During the rest of the flight no one even direct us a single word. Seems that SAS crew's attention depend on your ethnicity."

Contras: "very small plane for trans-atlantic flight (17 rows) only one free soda, then they charge you"
Prós: "Fast bording. All good, no problems."
Contras: "Online check-in with just 24h before the flight. Can be a problem if you are travelling"
Prós: "We got to sit in the emergency aisle so I can't complain about comfort. The staff was really friendly (although they were really rude on the way over 10 days earlier, so I guess we just got lucky with a nice crew for this one)."
Contras: "You only get one free non-alcoholic drink on this flight and that's really stingy for a 7+ hour a long haul. Drinks should be free on a long haul, especially non-alcoholic ones. There aren't any free small snacks like chips or peanuts. You have to pay for everything and the menu is exorbitantly over priced. It's a cheap and insulting customer strategy. They can save a few bucks in overhead on each customer this way, but they are losing money in the long run because I'll never book with them again due to their tawdry actions. I doubt I am alone."
Contras: "Discovered that I would have to pay 70 euro for my bag check-in. Not fun at all."

Contras: "My luggage was lost and SAS staff was the least helpful I've experienced from any airline. In fact, each employee was so uninterested in helping me that I went in a circle of speaking with 3 different representatives before being helped."
Contras: "I could not check in online for this leg of the trip and so could not simply go to a baggage drop line. The company handling checkin dealt with 4 or 5 airlines. It was not clear from iceland air website that i had to checkin with SAS. First stood in line for iceland air then had to go stand in line again for company handling SAS. Spent way too much time online doing this. Otherwise trip was fine."
Prós: "Flight was Ok"
Contras: "Left till last to board flight. Case taken from me. Asked continually when I wld be taken as I am 83 and recovering from major operation. Told 45 minutes before flight but was taken 10 minutes ahead. Rush has left me very upset."
Contras: "I was sitting next to a special needs man and the crew was extremely unhelpful towards him. He should not have been flying alone and they did not help him at all. When you handed out the customs form he told the stewardess he needed help and she ignored him. When I pressed the call button for him it took someone 35minutes to come back and then she told him she would help him after dinner. I pressed a call button the second time to help him find something and again it took over 30 minutes for someone to come back to us. If there was a real emergency this delay would have been a huge problem. The stewardess was extremely rude in general."
