Prós: "Voo normal"
Contras: "Lanche pobre"

Prós: "Crew is wonderful. Very efficient boarding utilizing both front and rear doors of the aircraft"
Contras: "Food was sub par. Older plane without tv screens"

Contras: "There were 2 other couples in the situation described above. We waited in line and got to the agent first, but upon realizing he had more than one couple in our situation, he agreed to help us all as a group. He gave us our tickets for the new flights one by one. When we got onto the aircraft we realized that we were in the far rear of the plane and the two couples (4 tickets) BEHIND us in the original line were given tickets in the business class portion of the plane, all the way in front. We were seated between two screaming babies and their parents, cramped in an aisle and middle seat. When I originally booked the reservation, I had paid extra money for the seats we preferred. Our new flight gave us the worst seats on the plane while giving the couples behind us in line the best."

Contras: "5 hrs delay and missed all connecting flights. Airline initially rescheduled flight 2 days later. Called Kayak and got no support. Kayak agent told us to keep pushing the airline. After 2 hrs of "working" with the airline, we were able to fly into Madrid the following day. Had to spend extra money for hotel room and car rental in Madrid because our final destination was Sevilla. Will never work with Azores or Kayak again. BTW, did we mention that while "working" with Azores to reschedule flight, we were booked to fly into an island off of Africa. Luckily, we followed up online with the changed itinerary."

Contras: "PACKED IN LIKE SARDINES"

Contras: "They kicked me off a flight 12 hours before departure, after booking months in advance, because they overbooked. No refund."

Contras: "They canceled my flight because of too few passengers and than rushed all the passengers on an earlier flight. I was driving from Philly and of course couldn't make the flight that was bumped up three hour early. Than they have the balls to accuse me of being late and thus a no show. I have many witnesses that prove I was there on time. But no reschedule for me unless I pay a 1000 usd. I will sue these bastards with a passion. To an extend they have never seen. Not only a refund but loss of business as well"

Prós: "Crew were lovely. Economy seats were pretty comfortable, with legroom. They allow one free checked item. Free food!"
Contras: "I ordered a vegan meal and got pasta with cheese. We were half an hour late taking off."

Contras: "Boarding was slow and had people check in at the gate just to wait at the bottom of the stairs for 10-15 minutes in a hot stuffy area because there was no cobus available to transfer people to the aircraft! For the second time flying with Azores Airlines, the in-flight entertainment system did not work in all seats, only in some; of course not ours. Very disappointing and boring for long overseas flights!"

Contras: "Waited in line 30 minutes before boarding even though we had already been through security. Business and first class passengers not given any priority in boarding. Limited food and beverage service onboard. Crew seemed inexperienced."

Prós: "Crew was nice enough"
Contras: "Flight was delayed over 3 hours causing me to miss my connecting flight upon arrival in Lisbon. No in flight entertainment, only one meal served, no spot to plug in electronics, and the bathroom door was broken and didn't lock. I would suggest paying a little more for a better and more reliable airline."

Prós: "SATA was very hospitable when our flight was delayed into the next day. They provided a hotel and dinner/breakfast vouchers."
Contras: "The App proved to be useles when our flight was delayed 14+ hours. We were able to check in the day of the flight, but were never alerted when the flight was delayed. We called customer service and waited on hold for 30+ minutes without connecting, even though the automated message said the wait would be 6 mins. Communication as a whole was quite poor and created a lot of anxiety amongst the visibly upset travelers."

Contras: "The flight was delayed due to "technical issues" two hours. This seems to be a consistent thing with SATA and Azores Airlines. The crew was rude when my bag did not fit in the cabin and they had to move it, too."

Prós: "We read several bad reviews of Azores Airlines but our flight over to the islands and back to Boston was smooth riding and on time if not early. Our three interisland flights were also easy and on time, staff great."

Contras: "They cancelled the flight a couple hours before ltake off, then changed the flight number and took off with all the people they bumped from the day before. What a scam, told us it was "operational issues'""

Contras: "Didn't make it since the first flight was delayed for over 4 hours. Virgin did not help us with rebooking. Waiting on refund. No word yet. Very angry."

Prós: "The flight crew was absolutely wonderful and very helpful with our 3-year-old son. He keeps asking to go on plane again because of how attentive they were and made his trip very enjoyable."
Contras: "No entertainment at all. The seats could have more recline as it was an overnight flight and nearly impossible to sleep. The trays for business class are so close that it is awkward and uncomfortable to use."

Prós: "Had two seats to myself. Hot breakfast."
Contras: "The airport in Lisbon was terrible. Got bussed 20 minutes to get to terminal and had to wait 2 hours in line to get through passport line. Could not find my bag, finally found it in a heap to the side. My friend traveling Air Canada had no trouble same day same time."

Contras: "Was too tired and worn out to really care after the long delay. Won't fly this airline again."

Contras: "The delay of over 12 hours was terrible. I'm sure most people will complain as everyone was furious. The staff didn't provide any guidance towards what the problem was or how long we could be waiting. Their communications were guesses at best."

Prós: "Nothing. We didn't take this flight because of the SATA airline strike which left us stuck in Ponta Felgada for 2 days."
Contras: "We were majorly inconvenienced when finding out our flight was delayed, then cancelled completely, the. It happened again the next day. Lost 2 days of our trip whih were supposed to be in Lisbon. We found a Ryanair flight to Porto just to get to the mainland. What a nightmare. Never flying with Azores/SATA again!!"

Prós: "1 booked flight and selected seats months ahead. On date of departure reseated in middle section though previously booked window seats. 2 after arriving in Portugal informed return flight was cancelled due to crew strike. Told we can wait in Portugal or rebook on new airline. You can't make this stuff up."

Prós: "It was a economical flight. The food was pretty good as well."
Contras: "We had changes to pretty much every leg of our flights. One was delayed by 2.5 hours. I understand that flights get delayed but they hardly gave us any information as to what was going on. The flight was pretty smooth but the flight attendants didn't seem interested in our comfort. They weren't rude but they weren't pleasant either. I guess I'm used to a different style of service that I did not receive on Azores."

Prós: "Crew was attentive and it was a direct flight"
Contras: "There was very little room in the seats. It was terribly uncomfortable and made worse when the seat in front was declined"

Contras: "Among the drawbacks, long immigration lines in LIS, despite the opportunity to go thru immigration in the Azores - lost opportunity for the airline to market its efficiency and convenience."

Prós: "Earlier TAP flight was late and caused me to miss my connecting flights. I will try hard never to fly with TAP again."
Contras: "Flight was cancelled because TAP flight was 2 hours late in picking me up."

Prós: "We didn't crash."
Contras: "So far as I can tell, Azores doesn't particularly know how to run a plane. Their service was laughably bad, if you aren't in the plane suffering it. Boarding is bad. They start about 45 minutes prior to the flight, and need it because they're gonna bus you out to the plane. There is no order to who gets on first, you just get into the mob-like line and hope for the best. Once we got to the plane, we waited standing for no apparent reason for about 30 minutes. No announcement was made (in Portuguese or English). Because there was no order to how people got onto the busses, people blocked the isle getting onto the plane as well. Result, we departed Lisbon 1 hour late. There was a connection in the Azores. There everyone had to deplane, even if you were continuing on (more busses). And then getting onto the plane was the same deal. Result, we departed the islands even later, finally reaching Boston 2:15 late. Amazingly, my connecting flight wouldn't leave for another 40 minutes. The lady at the exit ramp told me that should be enough time to get through customs and over to the connection. Unsurprisingly it wasn't. On the plane, the seats were small and uncomfortable. Leg room was minimal. The seats had screens built into the back of them, but none of them worked. The only 'entertainment' we got was watching Linux continuously reboot on the seat screen next to mine. My personal screen didn't even offer this. Food was dry crackers, and an equally dry and sad sandwich. Portions were very small, so plan on packing a lunch. They do offer complimentary beer and wine, but getting a steward over to serve you is near impossible. Service was gruff, and frequently not very polite. I was hit by stewards running (actually running) up and down the isle. Stewards seemed generally more interested in talking in the back of the plane than serving passengers."

Prós: "Friendly crew"

Prós: "The food was good. I enjoyed the flight. Though I've felt that I received less than I usually do from international flights but maybe just because this was shorter. No extra bull you don't need like an over night bag (that I've been given on other airlines for over night flights) but if you're expecting it, it may be a bit of a let down. My flight was just under 6 hours so maybe it's too short for that. They served a meal and a half. A full dinner, dessert and appetizer with wine. A muffin with coffee for breakfast. The dinner was surprisingly great. I actually really loved it. The muffin was just a plain blueberry muffin purchased from the store. Just a quick half meal before leaving."
Contras: "Well I had planned to go take a course in Porto which was the whole reason I bought this flight. I missed everything i came here for because of it. They reimbursed people and put people up in hotels, but not me. My trip was ruined essentially due to the cancellation of my first flight but the flight itself, when it did go, was good."

Prós: "The plane wasn't full. Got lucky with a row of empty seats"
Contras: "No inflight entertainment available for a 7 hour flight."

Prós: "Nothing, Sata is the worst airlines."
Contras: "Delayed for 7 hours with no explanation. Zero leg room"
