The time flew because by the time the movie had finished, we were starting to descend. I will always look for this flight with Emirates. There is no other flight in comparison, in what you get for your Buck. I believe that other Airlines, ie., Qantas, Virgin Aust, both give you a flight and service, for nearly the same fare but you only get 7kg luggage, no meal just the basic entitlement, tea/coffe/water with a biscuit or something like that and NO ENTERTAINMENT, NO COMPARISON!!!!"

Though the delay was made good during the NY Dubai flight, there was no assurance from the Captain about this when we left NY....and we were doing calculations throughout the 14 hour flight!"

Prós: "Fantastic flight from start to finish lax to dubai. I was offered upgrade to business class from economy for $1000 USD which was well worth the cost as the 15 1/2 flight can be tough in economy. The a380 is smooth, much more quiet and is pressurized to lower altitude than most planes so you do get off feeling more refreshed. Service and food were good and the inflight entertainment is first class with hundreds of movies on demand."

Prós: "After what happened on Wednesday August 3rd I expected there to be some craziness but not like this. I was checked in by an employee who just started that day. She tells me in a faint voice "sir you may not make this flight". After that she tells me to check back 1 hour before the flight leaves. So I do, another teller states you made the flight please go to security. I have 45 minutes before the flight is schedule to leave at 3pm. I rush with my wife from one part of DXB to the other. Somehow make it there, but then have to wait for over 2 hours because of a connecting flight being delayed, unbelievable. Then when we land and I try to claim my bag, the bags are lost. Not just mine quite a few passengers. I go to baggage claim and the teller is screaming at me and other passangers "shut up, I don't care about your bag". This is the most disrespectful moment of the trip, never have I experienced a customer service provider yell at me like this. This experience is a direct reflection of emirates lack of management in their hiring process, as well as their ability to train their staff in high stress environments. Will I fly emirates again probably not, paying a premium for below average service is not worth it. The cabin crew were very thoughtful and respectful and made the trip bareable, their ground crew is anot her story."

Deplaning was also very slow, such that we cleared the airport at 1:45 AM, rather than 11:35PM as scheduled."

Contras: "The boarding from NY to Hong Kong was really well organized, with people in the back of the plane getting on first so that it was easy for everyone to get right in. This did not happen on the return flight from Hong Kong. Further, at one point we were rousted from the waiting room and made to go through a second inspection, having are bags searched again, and having random people go through especially invasive searches. Very unpleasant and unnerving as we were given no reason for this."

Prós: "For the 15 hour flight from Hong Kong, they served two meals and put out snacks and drinks in the galleys in the interim. The dinner was pretty decent, and they gave a small bottle of water along with Hagen Daz ice cream. The seats reclined pretty well for economy class (the bottom of the seat shifted too, which was unexpected). Power outlets at every seat and an extensive entertainment system with movies from Eastern and Western culture."

I had an economy ticket and they fed us twice and had at least six beverage passes to keep you hydrated. A blanket, pillow and ear buds were provided as part of the seat. Norwegian Air does not even cover a glass of water. They are pathetic. We will travel with Swiss Air again."

Contras: "We were glad to have extra leg room at the bulk head, however, the seats themselves were extremely narrow. My elderly father found it exceptionally difficult to sit and stand from the seat. The seat table creates an ever tighter fit for someone with special needs."
Prós: "The most difficult problem I have to deal with in airline transportation occurs when the fellow traveler in the seat in front of me decides to drop their seat back into my lap. The seats are so close together that when the seat in front of you is all the way back the following happens: 1. You can no longer view the monitor on the seat back. 2. You cannot eat or write from your tray top. 3. You have great difficulty getting out of your seat. 4. You have great difficulty keeping from severely injuring the occupant of that seat. The way to deal with this is to get out of your seat. Stand in front of the offending passenger and as politely as you can as him or her to refrain from dropping the seat back so far. But the airline should not put you in this situation."

I’ve been here 5 hours and have not heard a word of announcement from them, our questions are rudely thwarted, and they continue to take half-an-hour to an hour per person with uncertain results. Give use new flights or a hotel."

Contras: "I have just had the most unpleasant experience with Swiss Air and feel that anyone on FB should be very careful when dealing with this airline. I am a Gold Member of Star Alliance for more than 20 years and have flown dozens of times on Swiss and would expect courtesy and consideration in return for my loyalty to their airline. Their flight from Hong Kong to Zurich leaves at 00:15. I mistakenly booked this for Nov 9th instead of the intended late evening of the 9th which then turns out to be Nov 10th. When I discovered my error, I called Swiss at least six times to explain my error and ask if my son could stand by for the same flight on the 10th or even apply the amount to rebook the same flight the next day. ZERO flexibility or consideration. Missed flight, lose entire value. Start from scratch. Astonished that an airline that claims to be serving their customers would treat me this way. I travel through Europe at least 6-10 times a year from Asia. I will now route through Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, London, Vienna, Instanbul or even Moscow before ever going through Zurich again. I encourage anyone making travel plans to be very careful when considering flights with Swiss Airlines. Perhaps this treatment of a loyal customer explains why they went through bankruptcy already once."

When we reached our gate, we then waited in a long line to have our passports and boarding passes checked again. There were several Swissair crew members, but only one person to check all of the paperwork for economy. Prós: "At list 2 attendants were extremely not polite . Air condition was turned on 2 minutes before landing . To collect food plates from passengers took more then 2 hours . When passengers asked attendants, to evaluate when it going to happen the answer was very rude ״ you should fly business in case you want it faster " . It was a night flight and it took 3 hours to turn off the lights . One of the girls attendants told me that I have too many hand handbags with me , only 1 piece allowed . I was with 3 pieces but we were 3 persons my wife and my Childe . I was trying to explain her, but she was unable to listen . It is not Swiss I know , I like to flight Swiss , but this flight was extremely disappointing .It was many confusions with other passengers as well. wrong meals , wrong seats , no air condition, ... the flight was a nightmare"
