Instead I was offered what appeared to be a lurid pink yogurt, coupled with fluorescent orange 'juice', together with the Indian vegetarian option. The accompanying 'muffin' appeared to consist of the following ingredients: flour, oil. Suffers from the "African flight's don't matter" syndrome when it comes to level of staff and entertainment. I was expecting better from Qatar - back to Emirates I go!"

Prós: "Qatar airways always seems to handle busy flights and crammed seats calmly, efficiently and on time. It's a long haul - 16+ hours, and if you have to go economy as a 6 foot tall person, their seats recline well, seemingly better than many. You have to plan your long layovers, and they do offer assistance with hotel transfers, but they don't advertise this very clearly - so do your homework before flying!"

Contras: "I did not enjoy the turbulence, which I suppose is unavoidable. More importantly, I felt quite guilty about the greenhouse gas emissions of my flight. I have decided to cut down on my air travel as much as possible as a way of reducing my carbon footprint."

Contras: "Our two hour connection in Paris became 30 minutes because Air France was late in leaving Washington. So our luggage didn't make to to KLM to Amsterdam. My poor rating was because the luggage handling was really poor. Lots of flights from Paris to Amsterdam (almost hourly), but my bag showed up 12 hours later. My wife's bag took 36 hours. And yes, we checked in together. There were lots of confusing messages"
Prós: "Decent meal (warm Pasta all'arrabbiata), nice little muffin for dessert and standard drinks (coffee & tea were a bonus, as they didn't serve any on a similar flight, from Barcelona to Amsterdam), friendly cabin crew."
Contras: "Poor timing - no reason for a 40 minute delay at take off (plane was fully boarded in time) Old aircraft, shabby, dirty and cramped seats. Coming from my connecting flight from Barcelona, I could clearly tell the different in the quality (and cleanliness) of the aircrafts."

Prós: "All cabin crew were courteous. Refreshments were light. Check stuff were helpful, they did devise that the flight was full and due to space hand luggage would prefer to be put in hold free of charge. We did not have any problem with this. Plane was clean."

I had to wait for a small plane coming from Edinburgh then wait for it to be emptied of passengers and cleaned. This meant we were over 2 hours late into Istanbul. No explanation or apology. I then missed my next flight in Istanbul and had to purchase another ticket. I cannot believe that air passengers are treated in this way!!! I will follow this up with KLM when I go home from my holiday."

I was asked to close my shade several times from the very beginning of the flight except that I was wide awake and had deliberately asked for a window seat so I could look out. 15 hours is too long to fly in a darkened environment and especially when boarding in the morning after a nights' sleep. Perhaps handing out eye masks for folks who want darkness is a way to respect the needs of all passengers."

Contras: "Our seats were in the back of the plane and didn't recline on a fourteen hour flight. When we asked to be moved, we were told there were no other seats available, which was probably true. Our stewardess seemed to be understanding and offered us an extra pillow. However, we were not offered any other compensation for those seats that were purchased at the same rate as others in coach."

Contras: "Contacting the airlines is a hassle. There is no email id on which one could write. The website is not consumer friendly. The telephones do not connect easily, and then it becomes difficult to reach the desired person for help. For doing anything, the website asks for 13-digit ticket number, but it has not been provided in the e-tickets or any email also."
Prós: "The flight attendants were nice even they didn't really speak well English."
Contras: "The crew didn't speak very good English. I flew 2 times with Air China Southern for 9h45 and 12hours and during the 2 flights, I only ate 2 times each, no snacks, no drinks during the flights, just a meal at the very beginning and the very end."

Prós: "my flight was canceled after being delayed for 4 hr last evening and they put us up in a Chinese fleebag place [no bottled water; no kleenix, no phone] and awoke us at 5:45 to get on the bus to catch the 9 am flight, which itself was delayed 112 min. Airline personal said they would tell us what flight we were to talke, but this never occurred and I had to fend for my self t get re-checked in. A security guard really helped me. Airline personal said we could get out checked bad at the hotel, but not even a remote option."
Contras: "I suggest that KAYAK not offer flights from either China Eastern (received $ for the ticket) or China Southern (operated te aircraft)"
Prós: "Very long flight. Crew was very polite and helpful!"
Contras: "Window exit row seat was narrow and very uncomfortable on my hips which created some pain in my back and hips during the long flight. Had to stand whenever possible. Tray table was very small and pressed against my stomach making eating very difficult. Had to keep one hand on food tray and drink at the same time or it would slide off."
Prós: "I was able to sit in the Business Economy section and loved having the extra legroom since I am tall. The flight attendants were amazing!"
Contras: "I was disappointed that my seat didn't recline. Though the seat was very comfortable overall in plushness - not being able to recline just a little was tough on the neck.... No soap in half of the bathrooms. Thank goodness I brought antibacterial spray."

Prós: "Had a 10 hour layover in Guangzhou. In the transit area, crew informed me that they could provide complimentary accommodations. They provided roundtrip shuttle between airport and hotel (Vienna Hotel, 3 star option, although they seem to have several hotel available). Got to rest, do some work, and shower before long flight to Amsterdam. Will definitely ride with this airline again."
Prós: "Absolutely nothing! No organization for preflight or boarding. Could not understand when their was an announcement. The flight was 3 hours late departing from Los Angeles. Missed my connection in China and had to spend a night in china. Getting the voucher for the hotel was like standing in line for food stamps, no organization. I lost ond day of my vacation including one paid day at my hotel in Bangkok. Never again will I fly China Southern."
Contras: "Horrible experience from start to finish. I knew it would be problems when I tried for more than a month to reserve my seat and could not because the airlines had them blocked. To make matters worst I could not contact the airlines. The number provided was only good Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. Extremely unprofessional!"

When I told them I needed vegetarian meals, they told me I had to request them online when checking in. I explained the issue, and they said they couldn't help me. 16 hour journey with no meals was pretty rough!"
Prós: "The actual flight was fine, it was the lengthy disorganization of the transfers at Wuhan and Guangzhou that were the poor experiences."
Contras: "The handling of the confusing transfers at Wuhan and Guangzhou took hours longer than necessary and were not accompanied by any communication. We were given a great hotel, but had to wait hours in limbo to reach our rooms. We weren't communicated with or allowed to even know where to go or what was going on, and I wasn't sure that staff would even be back for us. Guangzhou airport had no Wifi so I couldn't even confirm my flight times."
Prós: "I loved the comfort and service of this airline!!! The stewards/attendants were so polite, professional, and really friendly."
Prós: "A wonderful experience. If you are going to compare CS with Korean, Cathay or Singapore, stop now. Of course they are better but they are more than double the price. Plane was great, crew professional, IFE was solid,mane meals were average to good. The hotel was stunning!"

Contras: "There is no online check in, there is no way to request the type of food you like, at the airport the representative said, im not going to get vegetarian food because i booked my flight online. What does that mean? Online there is no option to enter the food request so from Delhi to Los Angeles i wasn't provided with any food."

Contras: "Poor choice of onboard entertainment and the airport really sucks."
Contras: "The flight was fine, but because we were routed from Guangzhou to Wuhan, that was a "domestic flight" and we had to do all sorts of gyrations between flights. It was very confusing. Also, since there were no jetways we had to go up and down lots of stairs and get on smelly buses, thus breathing more of the awful air which they even called "toxic". We came to the conclusion that the little bit we saved going China Southern wasn't worth it."
