Contras: "On time!"
Prós: "Being in economy seats for 12+ hours could have felt more cramped, because I'm a big guy. However, there was adequate space as long as the kid in the next seat has had adequate parenting. (That was a problem, but I can't blame that on the airline.) The flight attendants were helpful and friendly."
Contras: "As others have said, the food wasn't great. It's kind of a cross between Chinese and western fare, but it's edible. Also, the economy seats were a little hard. I sat on my memory foam neck cushion to give my butt a break."
Prós: "I liked that the crew were very attentive and smiling."
Contras: "The flight was bad because of the passengers who had no sense of personal space."
Prós: "TV was okay when it was working, however crew was not around when I needed help and it was no longer functioning the last 3 hours of the flight."
Contras: "Food wasn't great. Not many options. Nothing vegetarian, of course I brought my own food, however it wasn't anything hot."

Contras: "Unpacking wet clothes from one of my bags. It must have been left out in the rain somewhere. I filed a separate complaint with Delta."
Prós: "I'm happy that CZ retains 777-300ER economy seating 3x3x3. This makes for confortable seating and space on a long haul flight. I ordered special meals and they always get it right."
Contras: "It would be nice if inflight floated more frequently during these long flights. I'm disappointed that there is not more control during main cabin boarding. They have the stancions and signage available to help avoid the crush and provide some order with groups by row numbers and enforcing it."
Contras: "Delayed departure and delayed arrival. Landed at a different airport first (due to a storm?) and missed our connecting flight."
Contras: "the crew is impatient. The stewardess left before i even finish my sentence."
Prós: "price, considering have the price are tax and fees, it's a great deal. plane, new equipment, 777 with modern entertainment crew. amazing how they been over backwards to satisfy a few disgusting rude middle aged male Chinese travelers."
Contras: "stereotypical Chinese travelers. rude abusive loud, they warn their reputation layover, 6 hours for flights between major cities seems excessive. hub in gaungzhou stinks"

Contras: "Our flight fr Mnl to China was delayed and missed out flight going to SFO. Have to stay ivernight didn’t get to the hotel untill 1am and flight is 10 am and the flight have a stop at a different China city and have to change plane again. Travel was so long and inconvenient."
Prós: "The attendants were nice and as helpful as they could be with limited English."
Contras: "The seats were the equivalent of a small puddle jumper plane in the US. Not very well padded and uncomfortable. I took a small pillow for my back and that helped. You aren’t allowed to use your phone at all during the entire flight. It was next to impossible to choose a seat in advance."

Prós: "Food was generally excellent. Entertainment good, but game choices limited, movies were censored for content."
Contras: "1. Boarding and un-boarding should be by bridge, especially in sub-freezing weather! What is China Southern's problem with this? Every boarding/unboarding has always been by bus, and we had to be exposed to the elements. Since we were traveling between two warm places, we were not prepared to be out in freezing weather. 2. Layover in CAN was terrible: It was too long (10 hours); Guangzhou Baiyun had NO HEAT and so was very cold, too few charging stations, and very spotty wi-fi. I could not use my credit card in at least one place. At a McDonalds (probably a knock-off actually), the cashier was quite rude, allowing native Chinese customers to cut in line in front of me and unapologetic with their "no-credit-cards" policy. Customer service personnel need better training in international relations."
Prós: "Food was mainly excellent, except one time the bread, and a piece of meat in the cold salad, were a little stale. Entertainment was mainly excellent, except the game choices were limited and the movies were edited."
Contras: "1. Uncomfortable boarding at JFK: Had to go out in the cold to ride a BUS to the airplane: Why can't they use a BRIDGE like everyone else? Since our first leg was from, and our lest leg was to, very warm places, we were not prepared for the sub-freezing conditions. 2. Horrible flight delay: JFK to CAN: Cancellation of flight CZ600, 12/31/17, followed by TEN-hour delay leaving JFK, was beyond traumatic. Airplane had to be fixed, but it should not have taken that long to find a solution. Passenger care was horrible: Initially we sat on the tarmac for 4 hours, then transferred to a waiting station with almost no heat and no access to rest rooms or food."
Prós: "First off, I don't know any Chinese except thank you, so I was a little uneasy about flying domestic. But China Southern is really solid for anyone with common flight/airport sense. Important messages are all in Chinese as well as English. Crew members know enough English to help you out with basic things when needed. Got food with both my flights over 2 hours. More spacious seating than airlines in America. 5/5 experience"
Contras: "Had to take one long (15 minute?)squished shuttle from gate to plane in Beijing. But for that to be the worst thing that happened is pretty great."

Contras: "The food is absolutely disgusting. And this from a national airline of a country renowned for one of the world's finest cuisines. It's an awfully long flight & little to eat. Even the packaged peanuts were poor. Also, deplaning at Guangdong requires use of portable stairs & bus to terminal - they don't use the jetways! This is a pain in the butt - and knees for those with any mobility issues."
Contras: "Very bad flight..Mechanical problem missed connection..it took 3 days to reach to destinations. No service at all."
Contras: "Hello, my son is the first time a man back to China, when we go back the plane delayed three hours in guangzhou, return, plane in xinzheng airport delays again, didn't catch the direct flight to New York, stay one night in guangzhou, endorse the flight from New York's flight to South Korea for my son, his first trip is so bad!"

Contras: "Unable to make a seat reservation on either leg of the flight. They have no idea how to run an airline. Boarding was a disaster. Waited for luggage for over an hour."
Prós: "It was an inexpensive flight. Flight attendants were nice enough. Drink cart came by several times and one meal was served. Counter for check in opened on time and flight was on time."
Contras: "Seats aren't very spacious; not much leg room and doesn't recline much. Luckily I'm a petite person, but I can imagine if I was of average height or taller/heavier I'd be uncomfortable. Food is mediocre. Airline food isnt great in general but I've had better on an airline."
Contras: "Below average food and absolutely no in-flight entertainment. Flight delayed over an hour....essentially impossible to get wifi at CAN airport and when you do it's so slow so as to be useless anyway. World-class airport or airline? Not even close...."
Contras: "Going thru customs, security and immigration for the third time in Wuhan. The first check was in Thailand, second check was in Guangzhou. Not sure why they are always checking you out and in. Must be some bizarre Chinese regulation."
Prós: "The international flight from New York to Guangzhou need more leg room even the upgraded economy was tight with stiff non moving arm rest for a couple wo seat together"
Prós: "The flight was on time. Food on flight was normal. It was a full meal."
Prós: "Having flown internationally often, but never on China Southern, I was more than impressed and please with the complete experience."

Contras: "A group of approximately five children ages six to about ten traveling with their family: kicked and pulled at seats, squealed, stood up in their seats during landing, talked, talked, talked. Parents said nothing. More importantly, please improve your food. It's really subpar."

Prós: "I liked that although I didn't request special meal via phone, some fight attendants tried to accommodate me. Others were not having me. I liked that I could look at detailed maps of the flight route. There were excellent movies to watch to kill the long frigging flight."
