Fortunately, LUFTHANSA informed us of this fact at checkin and we purchased carriage with checked in baggage. This makes me wary of buying tickets through KAYAK in the future."

The crew took time to tell us what we would be seeing as we flew, it was a beautiful morning for the flight until we experienced overcast skies in Austria- Germany. The staff did their job well with minimal comfort disruption."
Contras: "I would take this flight again. The only thing I would change is unloading procedure of walking down stairs on the outside of the terminal, then loaded on a stand up bus for a rather long ride to the terminal. It reminded me of London. But, I guess it is something you have to deal with."

Contras: "The seating on this aircraft is inadequate for a long flights. Tall people really suffer due to seat size and spacing. There was a 6"6" man of median weight for his height who was in the middle seat next to me and he could barely fit into his seat. It was not his fault, rather the unrealistic expectation that airline seats actually fit today's customer. Not only is there not enough leg room, but the width of the seat leaves no room for arms or shoulders. No one should have to ride 7-plus hours touching the shoulders of the passenger next to them! I used to prefer to fly on Lufthansa because their seating was more comfortable than other carriers, but I will try another airline next time."

Contras: "Was not informed that checking in online is the only way to secure a seat. So, regardless of whether you book your tickets 3 months in advance or the day before, you're not actually guaranteed a seat unless you check in online. We weren't told this until we were at the airport and checked in there that we might not be able to get our pre-booked in advance flight because of over-booking from KLM. We then had to wait and see if there were seats available when boarding. Luckily, there were, but we were not sat together. Not the greatest start to our first holiday together as a couple. We were told that if there weren't seats available, they'd pay for us to get to another airport to fly out, which would have meant a huge delay on the only time off we'd get together this year and have to rearrange our pre-booked and pre-paid living arrangements for the week. All because there wasn't a lot of emphasis on the need to check in online before hand. You'd think if someone checked in at the airport, that would be more of a guarantee that they'd be flying with you that day, but apparently not. Definitely not impressed or happy with this part of the KLM experience. This is the only company that we've had this problem with, they should make it clearer that it is essential to check in online."

The ticket agent, the gate agent and the cabin crew all did nothing to make up for the fact that their system screwed up and stuck me in a cramped coach seat in the back of the plane for 11 hours-- TWICE! Beyond that, KLM must have one of the oldest fleets in the sky. Both ways LAX->AMS->LAX, I was on a 30-35 year old 747 with no wifi, no power and a ten-year-old entertainment system. Never again."

Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

Contras: "You really need to either have no legs or be 5’6” or less to fit in the seat without angling sideways. But alas SAS is no worse than the competitors in this department. Crew served meal 2.5 hours into 9 hour flight and about an hour after complimentary drink. My can of Coke was well gone when the mediocre dinner arrived and I got an earful for daring to ask for another one. It finally arrived after dinner with the creditcard machine etc. Yes, it was $4.00. I passed. As the coffee service was in full swing."

Contras: "They canceled our flight and then were unable to rebook us for the same day flying to Chicago. We were told by the SAS rebooking agent that no flights available on ANY flights from ANY carriers at ANY airport in all of Europe. Unless you were the couple at the other end of the counter - they were rebooked just fine. What do we do? SAS agent says, "Not my problem." So we have to stay an extra day. We ask - will you be putting us up in a hotel? Agent told us every hotel was sold out. "What do we do?" SAS agent: "Not my problem"."
Prós: "I loved that there were a lot of different movies, TV shows, games, music, and more to choose from- all for free! Then there was a dinner- not bad at all-, a snack later on, and breakfast too, all included. Headphones if you needed them ( lifesaver there as I had temporary misplaced mine), a blanket, and a pillow. The crew was really polite, and there was never more than one person in line for the bathroom."
Prós: "This was a direct Copenhagen to Boston flight run by SAS for Privatair. It was a small aircraft with only 70 total seats. That being said, the seats were comfortable, the service was wonderful, and the flight was smooth."
Contras: "Inflight entertainment consisted of an iPad with very limited options. Only one non-alcoholic drink included with dinner, and purchase price of wine was the highest I have ever seen on a flight."

Prós: "Because of bad weather at the Faroe Islands, the aircraft made a missed approach (go-around) on the first attempt to land. The weather had improved sufficiently to make it in on the second attempt. The pilot and the cabin crew were excellent in keeping everyone informed, and telling us the status of the weather and the likelihood of getting in. The pilot was outstanding in his communication with the passengers and the cabin crew were great in re-assuring passengers after the missed approach. The flight crew handled the difficult weather conditions very well."
Contras: "The SFO crew was not helpful at all. Upon check-in, the SFO to Copenhagen leg of the flight was 2.5 hours delayed. When I expressed concern to the SFO ground crew, they said "You'll be taken care of in Copenhagen" in a very dismissive manner. I noted that we would miss our connecting flight (Copenhagen to LHR) and that there wouldn't be another direct flight that day. The SFO crew member told me that I was wrong that there was another flight available (a 4:30 pm flight). I told her that that flight wasn't on the SAS website and she told me that I didn't know what I was talking about in a rude manner. When I arrived in Copenhagen, the ground crew informed me that there was not a 4:30 pm flight and there never was. To get to London, I had to be fly first to Frankfurt then to London on another airline. Overall, this delay cost me over 6 hours. Utterly unacceptable and will never fly SAS again."

Prós: "Polite crew, decent space allotment, decent food-well balanced meal. Entertainment was good, quite a few big name movies."
Contras: "I wasn't served my second meal/snack, for the second time on my experiences with SAS."
Prós: "There seemed to be a little more leg room on this flight compared to the flight from IAD to CPH on 6/26/16."
Contras: "The movie choices weren't nearly as good as the flight from IAD to CPH on 6/26/16."
Contras: "I asked for water and was given half a cup, when I requested they fill the cup they said if I wanted more I had to buy it. In addition, when we left the plane everyone pushed their way off instead of following the order of the rows."

Contras: "Crew at check-in at ARN extremely unhelpful. Got conflicting advice on how to check in my back pack. The whole chaos resulted in the fact that my back pack never arrived in CPH. Nobody helped me much at CPH airport as well. I had to personally go to CPH airport to pick up my luggage the next day. No compensation was offered. I was really disturbed."
Prós: "The Boarding was fast and the Entertainment ok"
Contras: "Minimal Service Southwest style. Not the best international trip."
Prós: "On time bags made 2 connections"

Contras: "Had an extra bag which we were not charged for on flights to Stockholm or Krakow. You charged twice as much for the bag as you did for our ticket. Does that seem right??? A charge to offset your cost is reasonable. Twice the cost of the ticket is absolutely atrocious!!! Did I mention you managed to break what we had in the bag? Hope that gives you the picture of how we feel, but more importantly what we will be telling everyone.
