The shuttle driver to the airport was friendly. The booked me in a smoking room. The smell was so overpowering that I asked to have the rooms changed. They said no because "that was what was booked on orbitz" and didn't have any other rooms. I don't smoke and would not book a smoking room intentionally. there was no screen on the window. I felt sick in the morning. I travel a lot for work and have never complained about a room before.
Excellent customer service and amenities. The room was large, well organized and clean. This is the best hotel around for the price! The breakfast was good. However, I'm not a big fan of cheese on eggs. Maybe you could have two options -- one with cheese and one with plain cooked eggs.
My husband and i planned a weekend away just the two of us, kids free in Portland for the Washougal nationals. We stayed at another motel the night prior, and had the most horrible experience ever. The wonderful girl at the front desk was so helpful and wonderful. They treated us so nicely. The room was fantastic. We were able to get a king room suite that day. After we checked in at about 10:30, we got right up to our room and went right back down to the wonderful hot tub and pool. The room was clean and wonderfully put together. The hotel is beautiful.
It's a bit off the beaten path in terms of staying in Downtown Portland, but they run a free shuttle to the Max which makes getting into the city easy ($2.50) even if you don't want to drive the 15 minutes (although it takes a bit longer than 15 minutes). Perfect place to stay at a great price if you want to experience Portland without forking over $250/night for a hotel. Nothing.
Great room, amenities and proximity to airport Scheduled a wake up call but it never came. Important for a hotel for travelers and business professionals.
Loved the location, and spacious beautiful rooms! Would LOVE to stay at the Clarion again! The only thing I didn't like is that our trip didn't allow us more time to enjoy the room!
Quick and efficient. Was there for an extended layover at PDX. Shuttle picked me up and dropped me off on time and had a comfortable sleep.
You won't get any sleep unless you're on the top floor (so you can't hear the ppl stomping around above you) and nowhere near the constantly beeping elevator. Had to switch room three times until finally getting a good nights sleep in 419. i wouldn't stay here again unless I could get one of the 4 decent rooms.
It was clean. Everywhere except the rooms seemed renovated. Very bad location. Nothing nice around to do. The best place to eat in that neighborhood is like an old cafe. Nothing modern or fancy. The people who were stayin at the hotel weren't that decent either.
the heating system was noisy.
i was in the second flor The rooms were pretty new I had a view towards the back and I liked it Pool look nice, but did not used it Breakfast was nice for a buffet, hot entries Beds were comfortable Except for not having a restaurant it was like a four star hotel My kids were in a separate room, they were happy i would even consider it for an extent it stay. Airport shuttle worked fine Nothing with the hotel The airport shuttle did not have a sign in front, so I had to guess a little, very minor quible
It was clean, the employees were fine..price was ok as well, I would say if you are ok with a mediocrity just cleanliness and a good price this is the place.. That's about it.. Otherwise if you want to feel like you are on vacation with a nice new comfy place then spend the extra 20-40 bucks a night and go with a more newer hotel. Dated hotel, it felt like a half @$$ remodel.. Bed and TV were up to date but tgat was it.. The wall paper, doors and bathroom were very dated; there were tears in wallpaper, all the doors were chipped up and there was a bit of mold around the tub chalking, also at the base of the tub the drywall was completely rotted, the room was just a bit dark and dingy for my taste..
Perto do aeroporto Pouco velho, precisa de atualização
Muito limpo, funcionários simpáticos e uma boa tarifa. Eu tive uma boa estadia!
Serviço Papel fina paredes
Tudo foi bom, valeu o preço. Travesseiros!!! Eles não eram muito confortáveis, muito irregulares.
O preço Não há elevador no hotel
Really enjoyed the salt water pool and hot tub. Also got a room with a great view of downtown. The bed was comfortable and the rest of the room was really clean. Only wish that it wasn't right next to the moda center. And they charge you $19 a night for parking, which is really ridiculous to me.
Great housekeeping, clean rooms, affordable prices. We thought this was closer to actual downtown, confusing name. the price of parking is ridiculous. We found free spots near the hotel but walking in the cold wasn't fun.
pleasant atmosphere courteous clean helpfu; to elderly couple prompt with service and recommendations overall - l a good experience would definitely stay again. nothing
Not a lot. High price hotel with only the convention center to offer as an attraction. Not many attractions within walking distance. Auto rental was 3x what I usually pay I would not return to this hotel
Great location, great service, very comfortable and clean. Our original room had a small window frame gap which let a small amount of very cold air in (it was 30f outside). When we reported it to the front desk, they moved us to a separate room and even upgraded us to a bigger room. The second room didn't have the same problem. We were very pleased.
Coffee was okay in the room Kinda reasonably priced. Kind of dirty. Thin walls. There are much better places to stay in Portland.
Very easy access to the mass transit, easy walking distance to downtown Portland and Saturday market A bit industrial in that specific location, but not too much so.
Nice hotel with outdoor space that has fire pit. Recommended.
For $250.00 plus tax for 1 person I would have liked an extended continental breakfast included in the room rate
We travel to town to catch Portland trailblazers games at the Moda center and always prefer to stay here. The rooms aren't as up to date, stylish and updated as the lobby, restaurant and bar.
The hotel staff was the friendliest and most accommodating group of people. $25 per night valet parking was annoying
Rooms had a great view & lots of space
I like the staff. They were helpful and giving. Very nice and professional. The food was good as we had room service. I didn't like a 230am fire alarm that was tripped. I didn't like the fact Kayak did not express the 24.00 a night parking and valet. The front desk lady who was very nice at check in gave us 25.00 in food and drink vouchers. The valet also said street parking was free and available after a certain time. I tipped them good.
Location is great - right next to a nice, big, mall, restaurants, a park across the street. Parking garage is covered and not overpriced. 2am woman screaming at BF in hallway but hotel security responded immediately and ended the drama quickly.
The concierge/bellman Big Al was the best I have ever had, great guy, very informative, great representative of the hotel. Yes the AC in our room did not cool it down.
The room was small but clean and the bed was perfect. We got delicious chocolate cookies when checking in.
Convention going on of young adults no longer with addictions. It was like walking through a lobby of street kids. Lots of people smoking right outside of the door. Loud music. Not the ideal group that the hotel should be hosting. Made me feel very uncomfortable and not safe.
Hotel room was clean, bathroom was a good size. Never got the cookies when I checked in....kinda sucked. Bath tub was a little old looking. Location wasn't great if you're looking to do downtown portland.
A equipe aparentemente é agradável. Barulhento. Um pouco estranho. Não me senti 100% seguro.
Excellent room, nice restaurant, good overall feel. We appreciated the complementary breakfast and evening drinks, but offering a free generic Coors doesn't cut it even though it's complementary! Please offer a choice of regional microbrews.
Large room with comfortable bed. High quality linens and towels. Friendly staff. Free breakfast in the restaurant was excellent. Great coffe Older hotel with very long hallways. Carpet was dated but clean. No mini bar
The room itself was large and pretty comfortable. The restaurant had better food than expected. Free breakfast and drink coupons were a plus. Firstly my reservation didn't go through for the intended night so I ended up having to book a second night with no refund or discount toward the intended night. I believe this to be the fault of kayak and it's booking service though, not the hotel. I called customer service and they offered no help. Secondly, the hotels pool/hot tub were shut down. That was the entire reason I booked this hotel, for the 24hr pool and hot tub. Essentially I ended up paying $250 for one night with no amenities. Very disappointing. Will not likely book through kayak again. Will not recommend.
My wife has stayed at this hotel several times in the past, she likes the location near the airport. My wife was traveling alone. After checking in, she was given key to room that was already occupied. She did not realize this until she went to take a shower and noticed a man's suitcase next to the desk. I was not happy when I heard this as this is both a safety and privacy issue. Contacted Shilo customer service, was told that I would get feedback shortly, but after 2 weeks had to re-contact them and wait another few days just to be told it was a "glitch" that was "highly unlikely to happen". What's highly unlikely is for any of my family or friends to stay at a Shilo Inn in the future.
Just a huge mess. Took forever for them to get our reservations. Then to switch rooms was a disaster. Then our card got charged on top of everything, at a time when we were not even at the hotel. Overall just a very frustrating experience
The room was spacious -- 3 TVs, though older models. The breakfast was excellent -- could choose between continental (right in the building) or their hot buffet breakfast next door. The room was a bit dated and noise out in the hall was quite loud, especially early in the morning as people were catching the shuttle to the airport.
If you just need a good nights sleep this is a great place for the money. Comfortable and has everything you need. Staff is very friendly and free shuttle to the airport is great. This hotel is dated in appearance. Could use some updating but everything worked well and it was clean.
Spacious, convenient location Horribly outdated, old wallpaper peeling off the walls, looked like the last update was in the early 90's. We even had an old tube TV in the bathroom that didn't even work. Service was horrible. Upon check in and check out they barely spoke to us. I had to ask questions to get any information out of them about breakfast, check out time, etc. We were woken up by loud swearing and door pounding at about 2:30am. It went on for almost 20 minutes. Then when we left, found that someone vandalized our car in the parking lot. Horrible - we will never stay here ever again.
The gigantic room... It's literally the biggest hotel room I've ever seen. Lots of space... went for long runs out in the industrial part of town. The "fitness center" was a joke, basically a tiny room (and it was directly in view of the front desk, so people can see you as they're checking in... awkward... also, it is located between the main hallway and the pool so I had people walking through as I was trying to lift weights... totally stupid. Other than that, the whole place wasn't really my scene. I got the heck out of there, and for $16 more, I was staying at the Courtyard by Marriott downtown on the 15th floor a block away from premium shopping, restaurants, nightlife, and food trucks galore! It was so much nicer.
Pool area was nice and hot tub a treat. Restaurant was really good. Service was exceptional and staff kind. Room was old and tired. Big box tvs and strange little box tv in the bathroom. Lots of peeling wallpaper and carpet was totally worn out. They really should not be putting clients in some of these rooms.
We enjoyed the spacious rooms and the pool and hot tub We did not appreciate the condescending attitude received from both the front desk staff and the restaurant staff. Frustrated that "free breakfast" was advertised, but were only given enough coupons for 2 of the 3 days we stayed. Had to pay for the 3rd day. We were consistently treated as though we were inconveniencing the staff. Our kids were relatively well behaved, and we treated all staff with respect and kindness. Not sure what their problem was with us. Beds were extremely uncomfortable as well. I'm normally not a complainer, but our stay was not a good experience. Will not be staying at a Shilo Inn again. Steer clear if traveling with kids.
Free breakfast and free drink at the bar. Staff in the restaurant was excellent. Old and out dated. Bedding needed to be replaced.
The decor was very unique - front desk staff very friendly Noise - didn't realize when I booked it how close it was to the airport & how noisy it was. Bed very hard, a/c really noisy, hard to sleep with it on, shower drain was really loud. I got in late, had to take a shower late at night & was afraid it would wake up people in the next room.
The room equipment and comfort are very good. Nice furniture design.Fitness and poll very accessible and convenient. Location at airpot is ery convenient (train for portland down town and malls accessible by foot. The bar is open and welcoming. Breakfast is not included but moreover you need to pass to the cashier for paying like in a supermaket. Plus the coffee is not free (each cup is 2$, even the refill). It does not fit at all with the hotel style.
The music in the pool area made me forget everything else exists
The room was very nice and if my wife with me I know she love it mite she room could have been lil bigger Ah little more bigger room that it
Rooms are wonderful, staff was great. Having to check out
Loved the large rooms and views. Also loved the green options for shampoo and body wash and am a big fan of Bliss products Beds could have been more comfortable
Walking distance to several restraints and stores
design and staff
convenience to PDX and local shops/restaurants. The room was lovely and very different from a traditional (old fashioned hotel). Good that fridge was provided.
I just stayed one night due to having a very early flight next day. This is a very modern hotel with a boutique hotel feel. There is a bar in the lobby but I didn't see a restaurant but they have a snack bar but it's best described as an open air mini-bar with the high prices - no complementary snacks to guests. The staff were very nice and helpful. The rooms were modern and very clean. The bed very comfortable, sheets clean and soft. Around 8-9pm they have live music in the lobby so my suggestion is to get a higher floor to avoid any loud music filtering into your room. It's in Cascade Station which is an open air mall with some big box stores (Target, Best Buy etc) includes a few restaurants including Red Robin which is super popular. The hotel provides shuttles to and from the airport. Like any airport hotel, some airplane noise will get into the room but hotel has good insulation so it's minimal. Their open air snack bar is really an open air expensive mini-bar - no complimentary snacks to guests if only just one time.
Loved the modern vibe....very cool decor and feel to Aloft! Loved everything about it...the room felt like a studio apartment one might live in in Japan. Clean lines, color and lighting. There was a pool and fitness center. Nothing! This was my favorite place of all the places we stayed on our 10 day trip!
Business hotel near airport and shopping. Internet works well, staff is responsive and you can walk to a couple of restaurants and big box stores. It has a bar and small menu if you don't feel like leaving. Pool and workout room. Everything you need for a few days or week long business trip or weekend getaway. Close to public transportation if you want to go downtown and don't want to drive.
-Location -Price is cheaper than surrounding hotels -Convenient access to I-5 -Very dated -Good price for the location, but this is not a $200/night hotel -TV, iron, furniture, etc should all be replaced and updated -Not the cleanest place I've stayed at
The place was clean, beds were comfy, the staff was nice and the location was good - stayed for Kumoricon, was about a five minute walk from the convention center, and the sauna was nice~ Free breakfast was scarce, poor water pressure for the shower, old building - no elevator (friends and I had lots of luggage), the key cards don't work at times - sometimes it took one try to get into the room other times it took up to 10 tries.
Location Paying for parking is a rip off. This is just a motel far from downtown.
Two Bedroom suite was excellent for 3 adults and 2 children (5 and 8). Breakfast facilities for a busy Saturday morning were cramped. Breakfast was good but crowed and not easy to manage with small children. This was a busy Saturday with a boys baseball team staying there -- but more space for breakfast would have made this a much better experience.
In room fireplace was great, close to everything, free parking
valuable price.good bed. air noise from the main door.
Very nice, clean nicely furnished room. Better route to Cascade station shops. Daily charge for internet access.
Staff was excellent. We got out of the ordinary services and I have already complimented the staff member who was especially helpful. Breakfast was great and the location near the airport really makes it convenient. No complaints.
Comfortable. Good breakfast. Clean.
Well appointed hotel with very nice lobby/bar/dining area in a large atrium with rooms surrounding it. Very comfortable suite. Telephone and alarm clock were not working, which was inconvenient, but they responded quickly to fix them.
It was convenient to the airport. We didn't actually sleep. The Exit door was propped open, people were coming in and out all night. When we left at 3:30 am there were sleepy prostitutes walking through the lobby, and there was a drug deal happening outside on the sidewalk.
The room had a color theme and was pretty clean. There was a stove top and full fridge. And microwave. There was a table and the entire room was quite spacious. There was a nice new tv. You could tell it was new bc it still had the energy saver tag from the store on the screen. There was no turn table in the microwave there were bowls in the cabinet and some cooking utensils in a drawer like someone lived there. The light and fan above the stove top didn't work. There were no chairs for the table. The hallways looked like it was under construction because the carpets were dirty and the it looked like someone had recently removed the floor molding on the entire first floor.
Sheets and towels were outright gross, multiple visible stains. This is pretty basic stuff for a motel. Despite the cheap price, you don't get what you pay for.
The room was renovated recently, but the rest of the building is in the middle of renovation - loose wires, drywall everywhere, disgusting old carpet in the hallways. The picture of the front of the building is not the actual building itself. This hotel is in a BAD area. It seems Pimps and prostitutes actually live in the building and conduct business there (they are kept on the first floor). I heard a woman having raucous sex while we were checking in, the place smelled of cigarettes. The list goes on and on. I only stayed there because we got in very late and had nowhere else to stay before our flight out of Portland.
Large rooms I can't even begin.. Awful service , foul and dingy looking dump. Tried to be remodeled but so cheaply done.. Bashed up doors and stairs . Funky smells throughout . Just totally gross..
Cheap Kayak listed this as America's Best Value Inn, but the name has changed to Studio 6 Extended Stay...this was a bit confusing. Then, as we were checking in, my husband wanted to double check that there was an airport shuttle for our early flight the next morning, which Kayak had listed as an amenity, and the front desk reported that they no longer offer this service...their shuttle was broken...permanently broken. We asked to stop the check-in process while we looked elsewhere to stay. Unfortunately we couldn't find anywhere last minute, so we had to stay at this hotel. We then had to book a taxi to the airport...which was only about $10, but still an unexpected expense to pay at 4:30am for our early flight. Also, the room was FILTHY. Marker marks on the bedspread, dirty floors and carpet, etc. The room smelled and made you feel gross just standing in there. We are not panicked people by this stuff either...it just was truly a gross, cheap place to stay. We slept in full clothes and put shirts on the pillows just in case...again, we are not normally this worried, but this place was pretty sketchy and icky. Fair warning.
With short notice, I booked this hotel online through a travel service, after having read the customer reviews. I couldn't have been more pleased. The entire hotel has a refreshing modern, upbeat decor, the room was immaculatly clean, the staff couldn't have been more helpful, and the convenient breakfast included a variety of hot and cold selections. Most convenient for me was the shuttle, which not only serviced the airport at any hour, but also would take you almost anywhere. The staff arranged for the shuttle to take me to the nearest 'light rail' station which serviced all of my destination city (Portland, OR). As a senior, I traveled the city for $1.00. A call to the desk brought the shuttle to the station to pick me up. Way cheaper than renting a car!
The room was very comfortable for our family of 5. We had a small living room area with the wall mounted TV that swiveled to accomodate viewing. The breakfast was great and we also were able to use the workout room and the pool with the kids. The in room coffee and small kitchenett were handy with the family as we ordered from a local restuarant for dinner one night. The hotel accomodated an early check in as well as a late check out based on our schedule. This really helped us as we were not traveling for pleasure but had fairly specific schedules. This allowed us to get checked in and on to our first meeting and then have a place to be with all the kids until our last meeting time. The staff were friendly and communicated well with us . They explained features they offered for future stays and I would definatley stay here again. All in all I would rate this a nine out of ten overall and a ten out of ten for a stay with my husband and children as the occupants. It was a comfortable an...
Nice, helpful and friendly staff. Provided a shuttle to and from Airport with ease. Continental Breakfast was decent. No complaints at all!
The decor was very nice. The staff was helpful. I thought it was a good deal for the price. Easy to locate off the freeway as well. Very clean rooms. The bed was a bit firm for me, but still not too uncomfortable. Hot breakfast as well. Will definately stay here again!
I stayed here two nights in August. The breakfast is decent, the parking is ample, and the suites are spacious for Portland standards. The building is frame construction, so heavy feet and slamming doors are common. On second day the only elevator broke (5 stories and 1 staircase!) The spa was also closed. And the sprinkler system and trees cover all the cars with spots, leaves, and sap.
Overall very nice, front desk clerk extremely helpful and kind. Bathroom fan was broken, and couldn't keep the window open because of the smell of sewer, but room very clean, comfortable. Disappointed in gym- not much equipment. Very convenient to airport.
I stayed here recently on a gal pal trip and this hotel was ideal! It is located about one mile from IKEA and a nice shopping center which is right next to the MAXX for easy access downtown. The hotel is clean, staff friendly, our room was super cute and BIG with two queen beds, a sitting room and little kitchen. Every morning breakfast was served downstairs: bagels, fruit, eggs & sausage and waffles--really tasty. This is a perfect place to stay if you want to be near the airport (free shuttle) and it is so affordable. I will definitely stay there again.
THIS HOTEL WAS GREAT FOR A WEEK LONG TRIP. I WOULD TRY TO BOOK THIS SAME HOTEL FOR TRIPS TO COME. GOOD BREAKFAST FOOD AND AWESOME COOKIES AT THE FRONT COUNTER. ALSO THEY HAD A HOSPITALITY EVENING ON THURSDAYS. GOT TO TRY SOME LOCAL BREWS AND GOOD FOOD. A++++++++++
This value priced hotel was very clean and comfortable. Even though it is located close to the airport, we were not bothered by the air traffic. The property was conveniently located to restaurants and other services needed by a traveler. Easy access to the freeway to downtown Portland and east to the mountains. Shuttle was available, but we did not use it as we rented a car for this trip. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for value with a nice accomadation.
This hotel went beyond my expectations. The rooms were spacious, clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable, and quiet! No weird smells and the staff was very friendly and efficient-it didn't take us all day or night to get checked in or checked out. It was close to the airport but not so close you could hear planes and it was really close to Budget where we had to drop off our rental car. They also had a great complimentary breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and when I need to stay in Portland, I'll be staying there!
It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the same every day, but was good. The exercise room was not as nice as a real gym and was like being in a fishbowl, with people watching you. The spa was ok, but our room and the location were excellent. Do not expect to find good restaurants close by. I would say by far the room/suite and breakfast were both tops, with location a close second! Close to many main freeways! They only had one computer to use in the Business Center, but at least the staff tried to be helpful and were very nice.
Loved the bedding. Slept great. I did not like the bathroom sliding door. To slide it open is heavy and unsafe when it is open. Almost walked into the mirror. It is beautiful though.
We loved everything. The bed was very comfortable. The room was beautiful and spacious and modern. The shower was amazing. It was huge and had 3 different shower heads. All of the staff was super friendly an amazing. The girl working the front desk upgraded us to a suite. without any charge just because we had mentioned it was date night when she asked us what brought us to Portland. The room we stayed in had floor-to-ceiling Windows which was so pretty at night. We have robes too. as a woman the other thing I loved was our shower head shampoo conditioner and body wash pumps on the wall. I normally bring my own shampoo and conditioner when I travel because in those little tiny bottles there's never enough product. So being able to use as much conditioner as I needed was a definite plus. We also had dessert at the restaurant which was super delicious. It was a gorgeous evening in the rooftop bar is lovely. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back.
This was a complete random choice thru hotel tonight app but I could not leave once I saw the lobby : the citizens bakery and then the amazing room : I ended up extending my stay thru 9 more days! Great happy staff and excellent realistic affordable room rates made me continue to call this home / I'm happy there and I consider it my new Portland home when I'm in town Everything was awesome. Great gob everyone!
Staff was super great! Room was clean. Great location. Worth every penny! The wifi only last 30 minutes unless you pay extra.
Total redo of an older hotel. Very modern. Love having the coffee shop downstairs to grab breakfast at in the am and the hotel restaurant upstairs in fantastic. Great location with easy access to the MAX train lines. No issues. The parking at $25/day is high.
