The staff was amazingly helpful and made us feel special. We used the bikes and found the service wonderful
View of the Willamatte River, bridges and marina were quite nice. Right next to river walk for access to downtown. Good coffee and tea bar in the mornings. Staff were attentive and pleasant. Dog friendly. Location was distant from downtown district and restaurants. No closet in our room or space to put away our clothing.
Wonderful room and better service.
Conveniently located for visit to family members and close to desired activities, as well as ease of public transportation. Little selection for continental breakfast and few options for breakfast close by during weekend visit.
The employees were friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Great location! Food carts across the street. Cheap bread and cheap muffins for breakfast. When we pulled the sheets back to get into bed, they had food and short, curly hairs on the sheets.
The location is great, very close to some great food trucks. Also one of the easiest for transit since the green line ends right here. Close to the University. Microwave and fridge included. Great heating/ A.C. unit. Very nice staff. You get what you pay for! Stains in the carpet, nightstands blocked outlets and switches (easy enough to move, but still), very thin walls so able to hear (and feel!) the streetcars movements and other guests. Biggest downside was that the room key was similar to USB stick, so easy to lose (I did) and had to pay $5 to replace it. Reasonable enough fee but had it been a traditional 'credit card' style it would have gone in my wallet and not been lost.
the room was big the noise of the bath room
Within walking distance of downtown and nicely located close to the University. The Max stop is right at the hotel. A little rundown, strong odour in the reception area, heating was not great.
The AAE Portland Downtown Value Inn is clean, comfortable and located on the Portland Streetcar line adjacent to Portland State University. Nothing fancy, just great value.
The place was run-down - old, creaky, smelly, and institutional - like a jail. The TV buttons did not work. I am not picky about decor, but the concrete painted walls and worn old carpeting were downright unpleasant. Better to stay at the Motel 6 just across the river for even cheaper (which we did after cancelling the 2nd night's stay upon arrival) and much less decrepit.
It's right in front of the MAX light train and PSU. Perfect location to explore the city. Overall quiet and comfortable environment, friendly staff at front desk. Very comfortable bed. Quick check in and check out. One day room service was skipped (Saturday). There were no trashcans in the room and the counter space in the bathroom was very limited.
The price was excellent and the room was clean. The floor wasn't level and there was no trash can in the room or bathroom.
It is right next to two streetcar lines. Easy walking distance to everything. Plus Portland is great! The hallways had a musty odor.
Great location, cheap rates, free parking + internet. Room was poorly lit and a bit noisy due to what sounded like an air compressor on the downstairs floor.
Room was desent i was not aware that the dormitory area is for 30 and under. I do not think that's fair. This crucial bit of information was not availiable online unless you lol for it. So I was forced to get a more expensive hotel.
Location was walking distance from Portland Art Museum, Powell's and Keller Auditorium. Bed was uncomfortable the first night.
I liked the location which is really good one (near the street car, metro and PSU) The cleaning of the rooms isn't up to standards as there are many times where not fully cleaned due staff availability. Also the bed cover wasn't truly clean!!
