The crew was courteous but the hostesses could try smiling a bit more. Their courtesy was appreciated but it felt very methodical, more of an obligation and not spontaneous. The pilot did a great introduction and gave information about the trip. Also the plane toilets were clean compared to other companies. I expected to see a wider selection of more recent and award winning movies. Will definitely fly Turkish Airlines again."

After being delayed for two hours out of Rome to Istanbul and missing our connection to Jeddah with hundreds of other stranded passengers from the other flights, Turkish Airlines incompetent handling had us wait in multiple ques for more than five hours only to provide us a hotel for two hours and then shuttle back to a flight 12 hours later! I have yet to hear an explanation from anyone about what happened or a simple sorry for your trouble. This is operational incompetence at full display. Never Again!"

Contras: "The middle seat that I got. The first 30min the plane was super hot plus it was very hot outside. When I boarded the plane, I asked if there were any exit row seats open. I was told no. I sat down 5 rows or so behind the exit. 15 min later the attendant started moving children from the exit rows to different seats. I raised my hand to be placed in the exit row but was ignored. The flight attendants were slow and rude. I asked for two white wines with my food, and was looked at with disgust. I was told that I can have one, and when I finished it, I could have the second one. I said ok. Well 30 MINUTES later I touch the attendant button and no one came. Finally after 5 min someone came to take my order. She quickly came back and said they were out of wine. This was a very disappointing flight."

Contras: "Boarding passengers were approved to board, directed to the jetway, and then stopped. We were all stranded, standing on the boardwalk for over 30 minutes. There was no seating and little air conditioning, and we were given no explanation for the long delay in boarding."

Contras: "We passed through 5 layers of security and still had a security threat on the airplane. After re-searching everyones bags and seats we finally departed 2.5 hours late. If there is a threat take everyone OFF the airplane. Nobody wanted to be there for the search. Pull us off and bring the dogs on"

None of the airline personal will help you find the hotel desk you need to get to, but if you keep asking around you'll find it eventually(in arrivals next to the starbucks). Shuttle service to and from the hotel. The hotel was fine(I mean not great but it was descent)."

One of the crew members gave me a hard time for having my purse out for 1 minute while I was taking my prenatal vitamin even though we were sitting on the runway for over an hour at this point and the man in front of me had his chair fully reclined so I wasn't able to get to it under my seat.. Even though as she said, we were about to take off, but she didn't say anything to the man in front of me. This was my second time flying with them and the first experience was much better."

Prós: "So I never actually flew with Turkish this trip, but I can write about my rerouting experiences. Inbound my first connection to Istanbul was cancelled due to technical problems. Fortunately I was second in the ticket office line and was promptly rebooked with Lufthansa. My return flight was cancelled because of the coup, and again I was rebooked with Lufthansa."
Contras: "Overall Turkish Airlines did well in a difficult situation. But a few concerns. On my inbound flight, the agent servicing us was amazing and I was fortunate to be second in line, but the airline was ill prepared for the situation and the agent was being hung out to dry by his colleagues who kept calling him and wouldn't let him do his job. On the return flight, I was frustrated the agents at first pushed me to take a refund rather than letting me rebook with a partner. I ended up having to leave a day later than expected, and didn't get an itinerary till the morning after my original flight. This was all very stressful. Lastly, you have to think twice about flying through Turkey. Although this coup is over, the next crisis will be over whether President Erdogan creeping authoritarianism."

My husband and I purchased exit row seats for additional leg room only to discover that an additional row was added in front of us for people with babies. We were squished behind them with very little leg room. We were surrounded by several babies, all of them crying constantly; this was totally ignored by both the parents and the crew. I was ready to start crying loudly myself, wondering if anyone would pay attention to that. We ordered special meals online but were served regular ones. When I told the attendant that we should be getting special meals, he peevishly and defensively said "you should have told me". These meals are normally served without any special prompts, so I have no idea why he was so angry with me! The crew practically hid from all the crying babies and was avoiding our section of the plane for around six hours. No water served, no one checking on anything. Lastly, my suitcase was cracked and needs to be discarded. altogether: a horror."

She then made my flight a nightmare, until I let her sit in my aisle seat. Even then she was not satisfied, she abused me the whole flight damaged the screen so I could not use it until the steward fixed it. Demanded that I except any and all alcohol to give to her to drink. When I am tea total she then continued to abuse me. I asked the steward to move me he just shrugged his shoulders and said there was nowhere else. This is definitely my the worst flight I have experienced."

On my short flight from Basel to Amsterdam, a young French speaking girl was concerned about how to manage getting to her next gate. The flight attendants talked to her and arranged for someone to take her there. On my longer flight from Amsterdam to New York City, there was a customer who was in distress about missing a previous flight and not making it to her connecting flight in New York. One of the flight attendants reassured her until she stopped crying and calmed down. That same flight attendant was always so positive and cheerful in all she did. The rest of the crew was top notch. This was my best experience flying in such a long time. Well done, KLM crews of flights 1984 and 0645 on July 10!"

Prós: "1. Leg space is bigger then on other companies 2. Crew was really affable 3. Free wine"
Contras: "Meal was not too hearty. Breakfast in Indian style was too spicy for me. May be I should request a special meal on check-in. And one more thing, Helsinki airport is cold for me. I spent e hours in down vest. Be warned."

Prós: "This is a great way to travel from Helsinki to Tampere and avoid the railway and train changing."

Contras: "I didn't like the fact that it was not indicated in advance (when the tickets are sold) that LED - HEL route is operated by a different airline, even though that airline is a Finnair's partner. It would have been better to have a complete information up front. But the airplane and crew were excellent."

Prós: "I think this airline has an attention to detail and level of service which surpasses most other airlines. Whilst remaining competitive these factors make traveling with Finnair a far more comfortable and attractive proposition for me. In addition, Helsinki airport must be one of the best around."

Didn't post gate until very last minute…LHR..Then it said boarding immediately. Nowhere to get water. Hurriedly Boarded plane to find out we have the sit there an hour. Girl next to me was so childish Loud mouth complaining because she couldn't sit next to her bf."

Contras: "Entertainment services weren't functional for the first 2 hours of the flight"

Prós: "The crew members were very helpful and kind. Seats are okay. The music selection was pretty good."
Contras: "If you are not planning to sleep, bring your own book, tablet and earbuds! The airplane has no individual screens for entertainment, only tiny drop-down screens."

Contras: "A nine-hour flight with ancient over-head screens? Great for those not sitting in a window seat, otherwise don't plan on being able to watch the movie. The first being a cartoon by the way. I'm sure the 3 children on board had a great time watching it. 2 bathrooms on a 9-hour flight for the entire coach cabin? One of which was near the front. Can you guess what the plane smelled like by the time we landed? Let's discuss the fact that passengers had to be "shuttled" to the plane because of construction. I paid additional for Group 1 boarding, so great I got to get on the shuttle first. Those that came after me also were the last to board the shuttle and the first to get on the plane. Thanks, American, for showing me again why I use you as a last resort. Had I known it was American and NOT Finnair, as I purchased it, I would have re-thought my purchase."

Prós: "I booked the seats with extra room - really glad I did. The food wasn't bad, the entertainment system worked. I definitely prefer the Virgin Atlantic entertainment system, but I fly AA fairly often and will continue to."
Contras: "The airport check-in was absolutely terrible. We were in line so long that an employee came up to us and said "I can't believe you're still here." Neither could I. We get to the airport at least three hours early because of stuff like this, but the incredibly slow line and unorganized way of handling it ate any of the time I'd looked so forward spending at Heathrow (I love hitting Boots etc)."

Prós: "Polite and helpful crew and great entertainment systems."

Prós: "I thought the BA/American/Finnair flight was excellent. The food was delicious both ways, much superior to United, American or Continental which I often fly. Excellent food, legroom, inflight entertainment (going out my row of seats - well, nobody could get any entertainment access) all was very good. Loved the newspaper choice when leaving Gatwick. I would definitely recommend again."

Contras: "Was not Finnair but American Airlines operated flight, so cramped, no personal entertainment system, sub charger, etc. Would have been great if this was 1996 and not 2016."

Contras: "When I got to Phl I missed my connection to London. No one seemed to care that I needed to be in England by the 18th. They kept retorting me to arrive in England on the 19th. I told them multiple times Id be flexible and go to any city in the UK just for them to get me there on the 18th. The First person I talked to said it was impossible. So I called again and talked to another person and all of a sudden it was possible. The worst part was they sent me to Boston after that I didn't get to Boston until 1:50 am and they did not compensate with hotel or anything while my flight to London was not until 8:00 am the next morning. So I spent the night in the airport. Oh and then when I finally got to London, my bag is lost and they told me I'd have it by tomorrow and I still do not have my bag and have called and they said they can't tell me anything."

Prós: "Smooth flight. Perfect service."

Prós: "The crew was friendly. Baggage arrive safely. But the repeated commercial interruptions trying to sell things made me wonder if it was commission based - a nap was not possible from the announcements but you could buy things duty free. I am glad it was a short flight. A new plane."
Contras: "There are no queues. A free for all to load and unload the plane. If you are looking for Swiss order, look elsewhere. Nothing is free, not water (1.5 euro) or any other beverages or anything else. We paid double what the flight should cost to not even be offered water. The seats were lightly padded to maximize seats. There was a small amount of leg room but some. No power outlets, wifi or media. The worst aspect is I bought a flight on Baltic Air from Tallinn to Riga and had the price from Riga to Paris on the next tab on kayak. I bought the ticket from Tallin to Riga then flipped to buy Riga to Paris only to learn it was a bait price. The price was actually $200 more. Baltic would not refund the first flight (within minutes) so we were stuck to either walk away from our 2 tickets to Riga or pay the bait and switch rate. We begrudgingly paid 400 (200 each) euro MORE than the initial price shown so we could fly out of Riga back to Paris (to be back in Paris by Jan 7). A non alcoholic beverage, a small snack, and power access would be helpful. Ground crew helping with order would be helpful. I was shoved and run over trying to get onto and off the plane. It is the wild west of flying except the plane is new...oh, and it is 30 euro if you do not check in online ahead. But you will still need to stand in line to check a bag (where they can issue you a boarding pass)."

After informing Male Airport, a message was sent to Condor. No news all day. Next day lodged complaint replied they're investigating. Holiday ruined"

Contras: "The plane we were supposed to be on from Riga to Helisinki had mechanical problems so they switched our plane. We had an hour delay do to that. Then when we got to Helsinki our luggage never made it."

Contras: "The passage through Riga airport was terrifying. We arrived from St. Petersburg 6.35 and we left 7.20 to Paris (passengers in transit). We explained at the checkpoint that we had a few minutes, but they controlled us several times until we had to throw several liquid items. In St. Petersburg they had already controlled us, without problems. In short: a sad experience in Riga, which does not speak well of this country: Latvia."

Contras: "I wasn’t asked to prepay luggage & it cost me double. That makes me very annoyed."

Contras: "They overbooked the flight and without any apologies on their behalf or without even informing me, they stop me and my fiance at the gate and just told is that we can not go to the flight I book and prepay 4 month at advance! The only solution that they can offer me was to travel from Riga to Moscow and than to Tel Aviv. It become 12 hours traveling across 4 countries ( we arrived form Stockholm) instead of 5 hours flight as it was supposed to! I'm not recommending to travel with that company it can not be trusted!"

Contras: "bag measure frames in Riga airport used for aB are smaller than in most airports, as a results we were asked to check some bags in at the last moment. we have had connecting flight through Riga with two hand bags. lets call them big and small. judge by yourself: flight, aircraft, small, big ->Riga CS3, on board, on board Riga-> DHC 8-400, on board, check in ->Riga DHC 8-400, on board, on board Riga-> CS3, check in, check in as you see, the same bags on the same aircraft were allowed or disallowed by the same company based on weather one flies to Riga or from it. i believe there is absolutely no purpose for doing last second interruptions of such kind"

Contras: "An extra fee is charged if you don't check-in online."

Contras: "We had to pay for 3 pieces of luggage, including my hand luggage. It came to about $150 dollars. When i booked the flight, it did not indicate anything about this extra change so be ware of this. The flight itself was quite inexpensive."

Contras: "The seats are worn and creek with every movement. There is very limited leg room even for someone who is short. When the person in front of you leans back it is impossible to reach your hand baggage or do anything but lay back in your seat. The landing was safe but not at all comfortable."

They did put me on this flight but didn't give any assistance to help me with another connecting flight because it was a different company. Voucher for a cup of coffee didn't cover all the troubles I had to go through."

Prós: "Quick bag drop and security line at Riga airport. Quick boarding with all the larger suitcases forcibly checked in at no charge. On time departure. Seats are comfortable enough for a short flight."
Contras: "(This is more of a comment on Kayak's review page than on the flight.) Haven't tried the food and there was no entertainment."

Prós: "They did provide a 6 euro food voucher once it was clear the flight was going to be over 2 hours late. The flight and land crew did their best to keep everyone calm under bad circumstances."
Contras: "Flight was just under 3 hours late (long enough to kill most of the day, but just under what is needed to pay compensation). First they said it was problems in Amsterdam, then problems with the plane, then traffic in Amsterdam. It was hard to tell what was true and what was avoiding penalties (it is possible that equipment issues caused them to lose their spot, and get caught in traffic delays). I hate that they charge 2.5 euros for water on the flight. Their carryon rules only allow us to take the smallest of bags (smaller than other airlines) but when I got on the plane, lots of people had medium sized carryons."

Prós: "It was very easy to print boarding pass."
Contras: "The scanners did not accept my boarding pass. 40% of the passengers had to have boarding passes reprinted. It was chaotic."

Prós: "Things moved along fairly well, especially once I was in Riga. The hour layover stressed me out because I wasn't sure if I'd make it to my connection in time, but the airport was not crowded so I managed to get through passport control fairly quickly and made my flight."
Contras: "Flight left a late, which was stressful with an hour layover in Riga where I had to go through passport control. Was very stressed, but made it with ten minutes to spare before my connection boarded because the airport happened to be not crowded."

Contras: "I didn't like anything about AirBaltic and will never fly with them again!!! If you can avoid them, do yourself the favor and do so. They forced me to check in my bag at the gate claiming that my luggage was too large to be a carry-on, even though I have traveled the world with the same carry-on and the person at the check in counter did not mention anything about the size of my carry-on when I checked in for this flight. This seemed like a stupid pathetic scheme to get more money from their customers. The in flight experience proceeded to be even more pathetic: they don't even serve you water, you have to purchase even such "luxury". What kind of airline doesn't even offer free water to their customers??? It is simply called a human courtesy! This was by far the most pathetic airline business I have ever come across."
