Contras: "2 hour delay due to a morning delay at Barcelona, although that seemed odd. The delay was known early that morning. Flight from Barcelona to Zurich doesn't take long. Seems they could have rerouted, or at least sent an email or some notification. Also, the boarding staff at Zurich is rude and random about whom they let onboard with larger luggage or not. They held some people but not others. Middle seats have metal polls, making legroom awkward."

Prós: "The crew on Swiss Air is very welcoming. The food was pretty good and there was frequent beverage service, so you don't get dehydrated like on other airlines."
Contras: "The seats decline fairly far back into the next seat. As a result, some of the passengers got agitated if they do not go with the flow and decline like dominoes. Both legs of the flight we had the people seated behind us kicking and shoving our seats. One gentleman was kicking my seat for a couple hours and made a scene on the outgoing flight. The stewardess addressed the gentleman and explained that I had to decline my seat because the seat in front of me was declined. My knees were jammed into the seat in front of me, so every time the gentleman kicked me, it not only hurt my back, but my knees. The couple behind us on the return flight jumped the line to get onto the flight, kept kicking our seats and then pretended they did not understand when we asked that they stop. I think the pilot should address the issue upfront so this toddler like behavior does not go on. I am not sure if it is common behavior, but not something I have experienced on an American carrier."

Contras: "No me gusto . porque quando compre las pasajes con ustedes por la pagina me decia q estaba incluydo 1 maleta de 23 kg y otra de mano 8 kg. por el precio total pagado y cuando llegue ñas mañetas no estavam incluydas y tuve que pagalas. Contras: "the new Boeing 777 is horrible... no space and small seats >> my feet were swollen, everything hurts the inflight- entertainment is integrated in the front seat, you can`t change screen if you are blinded as i wrote to the service center to change the seats (july 21st) i still have no answer on my mail.... service???? no more again..."

Contras: "I paid extra for legroom but was in the main walkway so my feet were stepped on for the entire flight."

Prós: "On every flight I have ever been on, if I request it I can get a whole water bottle vs. the small cups offered...however on this flight they refused saying 'it is against the rules"?? As a result I had to bother the flight crew over 10 times to refill my small glass...a huge inconvenience for both of us. The other inconvenience (one I have not experienced in over 5-6 years) was the the headphone jacks were the old fashioned kind...meaning you could not use your own, and the buds given by the airline were very uncomfortable."

Prós: "Gate changes and delays boarding made getting food between flights an impossibility. On board food was appreciated but was a snack and in 12+ hours travelling this made it tough."

Prós: "Flight attendants were friendly, and also very skilled so that their service was unobtrusive, graceful, and helpful. They took great care to get people what they wanted, and I saw them fulfill a few special requests from the people around me politely and quickly. The entertainment selections were good. The variety of interesting musical selections allowed me to go the whole flight without running down the battery on any of my own musical devices. The seat space was comfortable, especially compared to domestic flights I've taken for the last 10 years. The enforcement of carry-on luggage rules meant the overhead compartments were sufficient for what was brought aboard and people weren't filling the foot-space with bags."

Prós: "Cornella was my flight attendant and she was amazing! Such a sweet woman. Someone give that beautiful lady a raise, extra week of vacation and a high five for me. Food was great. Drinks were plentiful. Seat was comfortable and I felt the pilots did a great job of finding the smoothest flight path."
Contras: "Entertainment selection left something to be desired. When comparing to Virgin it is tough to be anything but disappointed."

Contras: "The flight was full and thanks to a rather oblivious person at check in everyone had a ton of luggage. As a result, the rearranging of all belongings delayed us significantly. We landed when I was supposed to be on my connecting flight. Thankfully the other aircraft waited."

Contras: "Our flight was delayed 5 hours. No one offered us anything. On top of that they lied about why the plane was delayed. Told us two different stories. We sat in the airport with no Swiss staff anywhere in site. Every check in desk was empty. Once boarded, My tv on my chair was broken. I asked 7 different times to have it reset. Never happened and no one ever came to check on me. The food was awful. We would like someone at Swiss to contact us with some type of refund for our troubles. Our names are danny roman and Bryan Feld."

Prós: "The fact that there was ACTUALLY ROOM to breathe. After a HIGHLY uncomfortable 8 or 10 hour flight from Chicago to Zurich with zero sleep due to the discomfort and inconsideration of the passenger in front of me, the flight from Zurich to Istanbul felt like a GODSEND."

Contras: "Upon check-in at the airport, found Swiss Air switched our seats that were confirmed. They gave us excuses that were different each time we spoke with someone, and they didn't care to put the effort out to do anything about it. There customer service was less than satisfactory."

Contras: "We booked flights with more than 75 mins connection time in Madrid but then the airline changed their schedule which reduced our connection to less than 55 mins. I was traveling alone with my 5 & 7 year old and we had to run non-stop from our 1st domestic flight to the international one, changing terminals, passing passport control (huge lines), and another security. No help from Iberia at all in terms of providing any assistance like a shuttle bus, quick passage thru passport or security. And they were nonchalant in terms of “if you miss your connecting flight, it’s your problem...”. Come on, we paid $4,500 for 3 tickets, and deserve better customer service than this, specially when you changed the flight schedule for your operational reasons!"

Prós: "Saving grace: movie selection much better than expected. Food a bit better than expected (in the world of airline food). Crew capable & nice enough. We got to our destination on time, so at least there’s that."
Contras: "Boarding @ JFK was a joke. That part of airport is currently under construction, so massive # of ppl & not enough room for everyone. Once on plane, all reasonably good until we reached altitude & settled in for the evening. At that point, for some reason the heat came on between rows 39 & 46 (we were in row 45) & was on all. night. long. on an overnight flight. Crew was baffled & didn’t know how to fix. I was melting & miserable — impossible to sleep. Cramped, basic economy seats. Awful experience."

Prós: "Overhead storage was generous. Being able to check flight progress while in the air."
Contras: "They charged us for two aisle seats, and then reassigned one of us to a middle seat with no notice. With advance notice, they were unable to provide a meal that would not contain bell peppers, to which I am allergic. On the plane, both meal options contained bell peppers. Surprisingly, the ingredient lists were not available to flight attendants or passengers, and we were only aware of their presence because of seeing them, or having my allergic reaction (which I did) after avoiding the visible ones. The passenger in front of me put his seat in full recline for the entire 10 hour flight, including about 30 minutes when the seat was unoccupied. This put his seat about six inches in front of my chin and made it impossible for me to view the entertainment screen. It also made it difficult to get into and out of my seat. Several of the toilets had clear fluid covering the floor. I did not want to know is this was water or something else. Although our connecting flight in Miami went from gate E21 to gate E30, it took two hours (and 3,000 steps per FitBit) to get there because of being required to claim our luggage, leave security, recheck the bags, and then re-enter security. Our tickets did not provide for TSA-PRE despite having provided our known traveler number in advance. Many notices and directions were only available in Spanish. As they are based in a Spanish speaking country, this is perfectly reasonable, but their services are marketed to English speaking countries and it was a problem for me as a predominantly English-only speaker."

Contras: "From the staff to the food but mostly the staff. I have never experienced worse customer care then this. Pretty bold statement since I’m a New Yorker. Flight was delayed and it wasn’t weather related. Too much to complain about . Never again will I travel with them."

Prós: "First flight ever where water or coffee we’re not offered. Good cart came out. Nothing offered. 3 attendants? To do what??"

Contras: "Our seats was almost the last seat of all our flights, even we checked in very early."

Prós: "Check-in was good, no queues. I arrived about four hours before scheduled departure time and check-in had been open already for an hour. In Mexico City Airport I had missed a flight three days earlier as I'd been observing the departure screens and they'd failed to update the status of my aircraft: this time I was informed of the gate at check-in. Flight was on time and didn't do anything scary. I was lucky as my neighbour found another free seat so left me with more room."
Contras: "I've found Iberia to be uncaring. This flight was much the same. The food and drink service was cheap, and I felt the attendants didn't feel like they had to try to give good service. The new entertainment screens kept coming on, and I kept turning them off as I wished to sleep. Eventually I discovered they were being triggered by the electrostatic charge on the pillows that I was rearranging."

Prós: "Easy boarding On time Very organized"

Contras: "I paid extra for a seat in the exit row and as soon as we took off someone from another row snuck into the exit row without paying and the flight attendants totally ignored him and he sat there the entire flight for free. They don’t give you so much as a glass of water for free and the luggage took 45 minutes to appear after landing. I certainly wouldn’t chose to fly them again if I had an alternative tho they are better than that horror Vueling whose seats were so close together that I was unable to sit with my legs straight because the leg room was so little."

Contras: "didnt get support for connecting flight. Flight was delayed in run way making us miss the connecting flight."

Contras: "Quando chegámos de Figari e fomos logo fazer o check in não quiseram aceitar-nos porque o avião estava overbooked e tivemos que esperar até todos os passageiros estarem sentados sempre com o risco de nao embarcarmos, o que acabou por não acontecer. A sugestão era ficarmos a dormir em Paris uma noite, apesar de termos as reservas confirmadas. No gate foram simpáticos mas a funcionária do check in era uma francesa incompetente e antipática, que nem sequer conseguiu encontrar as nossas reservas. Tivemos que ir a correr ao balcão da Vueling e ainda nos ameaçou que o voo ia fechar...enfim, uma experiência a não repetir"

Prós: "The in flight movie selection was great. They were generous with providing us wine and complementary in flight entertainment . Didn't have to pay extra to check our bags."
Contras: "The food wasn't very good. But at least they provided us with some. We paid extra foe exit row seats and they allowed someone to sir across from my husband in the flight attendant seat they use during landing and take off. He sat there the entire flight. He was tall with long legs and took away from my husbands leg room which is why we paid extra for the exit row seats. Not sure if he worked for the airline as he was dressed in regular street clothes but annoying all the same."

Would be better if they told passengers about when meals will be served. Stewardess poured old coffee in the basin while people were waiting to use the bathroom. Seat was splashed with coffee. Disposal for paper was stuffed. FYI Breakfast was inedible from ORD to Madrid."

Prós: "The team in both Rome and Madrid to went above and beyond. They were polite and empathetic to our situation, which was not Iberias fault. And they went out of their way to get us home on time. They always stayed positive. My family of 6 really appreciated. They have earned our loyalty."

Prós: "Very uncomfortable seat from Iberia Airline.The cushion was almost down to spring. Need to upgrade. Crew are not very helpful. Service is not good. Specially at the Airport, speaking English is very bad. I need an assistance to request for PRM ASSISTANCE for wheel chair, I don't believe that he don't speak English at all, Why would he be in that position. It should have bilingual person. I'm sure whether he pretend too I have walk back & forth to get help for information to have it translate to Spanish. All He does is make priority to all local people, it took one hour to get the wheel chair & then by transfer to intl national airport by bus took another hour, we check in @ 8:30AM by the time we get into the terminal was 12:30PM the flight leave 2 12:45PM. What a service. I will never ever flight with Iberia Airline. What a BAD service. Communication by itself is very very bad, the airline crew hardly can speak English. We have 6 people. We will definitely not recommend Iberia Airline. Thank you."

Contras: "Stewardesses were unfriendly and rude. Long flight, without individual entertainment on seats. Old plane, extremely cramped. The meal request made when booking the flight was not honored. Upon arrival to US customs, was told I was not on the passenger list (thus clearing customs was a bit touchy)."

Prós: "Flying was easy, then it got annoying, and it's slowly getting easy and nice again. I have been flying Iberia every year for decades to visit relatives. They upgraded their airplanes a few years ago. Each seat now comes with a touch screen to access movies, TV shows, games, and music. It makes for an easier flight. The crew is always very nice and helpful. The main course was beef or chicken, with a piece of cake, and a piece of bread. I never like the main course because that meat doesn't taste too good to me up there in the air, but I love the bread with butter or cheese. My favorite meal in Iberia is breakfast. It's a ham and cheese sandwich on a croissant type of bread with fresh fruits, a tiny KitKat bar, and a tiny muffin. The flight lasts about 8 hours. If you have problems walking, you may want to make sure to have someone waiting for you at the gate with a wheelchair because the walk from the gate to baggage claim can take 30 minutes up ramps, down ramps, up escalators, down escalators, into an airport train, up stairs, and down stairs. No kidding."
Contras: "I'm a small guy (61kg or 134 lb) and I found the seats in coach to be narrow and uncomfortable. The seat cushion felt very hard towards the end of the flight."

Contras: "cerca de 35 minutos de atraso, num voo de 1 hora. porque o aviao chegou atarsado do voo anterior porque o congestionamento no aeroporto forçou a uma espera de 15 minutos na pista."

Contras: "O facto de o voo ter atrasado 1h, e na altura do embarque, em vez de chamarem por ordem da fila, chamarem pelo tipo de bilhete (não contando com embarques prioritários)."

When I called customer service, after a long hold time, the woman I finally spoke to told me it was too late to order vegetarian and refused to help me. I have never flown another airline (Air India, Turkish Air, United, American, China Southern, etc., etc.) that did not make this easy to choose during booking or check-in and that did not already have a standard ovo-lacto vegetarian option on the regular menu. Vegetarians practice for all sorts of reasons, including religion and health needs. It's unacceptable to make it so difficult to meet your meal needs while trapped on a plane for nine hours. 2) The check-in agent did not know the rule about all remaining seats being opened for passenger choice three hours before booking and insisted we had to pay to get aisle seats despite one of us having a health problem necessitating her standing up and walking every 45 minutes. Then another agent told us we couldn't choose seats for free for our Porto to Newark flight when we check in for our Madrid-Porto flight because it wasn't technically three hours before the Porto-Newark departure. But how were we supposed to choose seats for the Porto-Newark flight three hours in advance if we are in an airplane flying to Porto at that time? This makes no sense. Seats should be opened for every leg of a same-day journey at the same time. The agents were unhelpful and unsympathetic. 3) This was an old plane without options to choose a film or show to watch. Instead, passengers could flip through a few channels and hope to find something of interest that was already playing -- there was no way to begin a film or show from the beginning if you landed on it in the middle of its running time. I cannot recommend TAP Portugal to any of my friends, family, or colleagues after this experience."

I bought my ticket 3 months prior and checked in 10 hours beforehand and was put on standby along with 5 others in the same situation. When we spoke to the TAP people at the gate they proceeded to tell us that they are used to this and it happens on every flight!!!!! I cannot believe that their is an airline that is so greedy that they purposely overbook their flights! It almost ruined our entire trip because we almost missed two connection flights and they did not care at all."

I had waited a long time to board this flight and I attempted to order some food but after 3 attempts and being ignored by the 2 female crew members in my isle I just fell asleep. It was a negative experience because as,a paying customer I always expect good service to say the least."

It was not an Iberia flight but was operated by Veuling airlines, however was still unable to check in by going directly to the Veuling website. If you're not going to be allowed to check in online, that is one, thing, but it isn't great to be given a link that doesn't work and then be nervous that you are not going to get on your flight. The boarding process should be changed as it is a free for all and people are waiting in line on the jetway, when really they are waiting for the buses. I believe the plane was at Terminal 2, so we had to switch terminals via bus. Just seemed as though there should be a better process for boarding than lining up down the middle of the terminal or manage the process differently as we were boarding buses."
