Even though Swiss is Star Alliance they didng count my Star Alliance Gold status for free bags and didn’t offer an upgrade. Zurich was incredibly hot and the airport didn’t have air conditoning anywhere. The boarding was worse than Ryan Air. The plane was okd and super uncomfortable. staff was rude and not at all helpful. Swiss is definitely a budget air line!!!!"

Contras: "My Partner and I was dissatisfied with our connecting from Zurich to Cairo. We expected the same flight but we were in basically in coach with little more leg room. The chairs barely reclined to a comfortable position. There was no entertainment, just a three and a half hour flight at the flight plan on a small tv hanging over. their was no differentiation between the economy behind us. just the food that was brought to us, other felt the same as well who were traveling in business with us."

The whole idea of booking a business class ticket is the extra comfort that comes with the lay flat seat or at absolute minimum on smaller planes the wider more comfortable seat. Neither of those were present on this flight. Calling this a business class is a rip off."

However, this is not an excuse for racist and bigoted behavior from You staff , the plane was 2 hours late, the staff was literally yelling at the passengers because they were standing at the gate assigned to the ticket. And your plane crew was extremely rude, this one flight attendant frowned at my wife's face and starting sanitizing her hand after my wife gave her ticket."

Contras: "NO ONE IN TURKISH AIRLINES WILL HELP YOU AND WHEN YOU ASK FOR HELP IT BECOMES AN INCONVENIENCE FOR THEM. HERE'S THE STORY, MY FLIGHT WAS 2 HOURS LATE SO WHEN WE LANDED TO CATCH OUR TRANSIT FLIGHT IT WAS ALREADY GONE. SO WHEN WE ARRIVE TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE ABOUT A HOTEL OR FOOD THEY HAND US THIS PAPER AND TOLD US TO GO TO THE HOTEL THAT IS IN THE AIRPORT IT WOULD BE FOR FREE ALONG WITH THE FOOD. WHEN WE GET THERE THEY TOLD US NO, IT IS ONLY FOR BUSINESS TRAVELERS AND WHEN WE EXPLAIN THAT PASSPORT CONTROL SENT US HERE WITH THIS PAPER THEY RESPONDED NO, WE NEED A HOTEL VOUCHER AND WE NEED TO GO BACK. WHEN WE ASK HER TO CALL PASSPORT CONTROL (BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONES WHO SENT US TO THEM) TO SPEAK TO THEM YOURSELF, SHE SAYS "IT'S NOT OUR PROBLEM" WHICH THEN MADE ME SNAP AT HER AND TELL HER WTF DO YOU MEAN ITS NOT YOUR PROBLEM? YOU WORK HERE!!" SO WHEN I ASK FOR THE MANAGERS NUMBER FOR COMPLAINT SHE GIVES ME A 5 DIGIT NUMBER THAT LOOKS MORE LIKE A ZIP CODE THEN A PHONE NUMBER. THEN WE GO BACK TO PASSPORT CONTROL WHO TOLD US THAT WE WOULD HAVE A FREE HOTEL AND FOOD THEY CHANGED THERE STORY AND DIRECTED US TO PAY FOR A VISA AND PAY FOR A HOTEL OUTSIDE. SO IN THE END THEY GAVE US A BULLSHIT STORY SO THEY CAN GET RID OF US AND HAVE US RUN AROUND WHERE IN THE END WE GAVE UP AND SLEPT IN THE AIRPORT TILL WE GOT HOME. THIS IS WHEN I WAS COMING BACK WITH TURKISH AIRLINES. GOING TO MY PLACE OF DESTINATION THE FLIGHT WAS LATE 4 HOURS AND LUCKILY FOR US WE HAD A LONG LAYOVER THAT WE DIDNT MISS MY FLIGHT GOING TO MY PLACE OF DESTINATION. SO GOING AND RETURNING FLIGHT WAS LATE! WORST EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD!! I WOULD NEVER FLY WITH TURKISH AIRLINES! AND WHILE I WAS THERE FINALLY GETTING READY TO GO HOME A MAN SAT BEHIND ME AND ASKED ME IF I WAS GOING ON THE SAME FLIGHT AS HIM AND I TOLD HIM NO WHICH THEN HE STRIKES UP THE CONVERSATION AS TO HOW TURKISH AIRLINES MADE HIM MISS HIS FIGHT AND GAVE HIM HELL! SO I WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM! IN THE END HE SAID TO ME TURKISH AIRLINES IS GARBAGE! AND I DONT BLAME HIM!! STAFF WAS THE WORST THING TO DEAL WITH AT TURKISH AIRLINES!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!"

Prós: "The care taken to wrap the electronic equipment you were mandated to confiscate. That part was handled well"
Contras: "Retrieving the electronic equipment was a chaotic nightmare. There was no order. There were two lines where passenger did line up in than others cut the line claiming they had connecting flights. Those in charge never verified whether they were connecting to another flight. Never asked for their boarding pass. I heard some laughing saying they did no have connecting flights. I better job and method of handling this situation is needed as long as the ban is in effect. Otherwise, Turkish airlines is fine. My wife and I have traveled most airlines and travel extensively. So, we are aware of good service and bad. Your service minus the electronic equipment is good."

Prós: "Better food and service than other airlines on which I've traveled recently. Loading passengers was disciplined and speedy. Staff very helpful. Istanbul airport is great for a long wait. If you go to a gate waiting area with no flight soon, you can stretch out and sleep. Good English-language bookstore."

Contras: "Flight was delayed but that wasn't the main problem. Went to the wrong gate for my connecting flight, Turkish air rep at the gate checked my boarding pass, didn't say a word about me being at the wrong gate. Tgere was no announcement of any kind (found out later, Turkish sir doesn't do announcement at the Istanbul airport. No clue as to why). Thought, tgere was another delay and by the time I asked, it was too late to catch my flight and that's when I got a full dose of every single person w Turkish air trying to stiff me with the most outrageous penalty for changing Nguyen my ticket. Started out at $1114 on a $758 ticket, then went down to $925 and if I stay over night, down to $750. Seriously? Rude, talking down at me and telling me that if I don't pay the penalty, my return ticket will be cancelled. I keep getting bounced from one person to another being told to wait here and wait there then I finally got so sick of all of it, bought a new connecting flight online, spending the night in Istanbul and will see what will happen w my return flight to the US. I call this 'theft' as, if i buy an entire new ticket from Istanbul to Cairo then back to the US online, it will cost me less than the penalty they're trying to get me to pay. Shame on you Turkish airline!! You'd think w all the issues they're having w tourism in their country these days they'd care about not doing this kind of mistreatment of their clients."

Contras: "It was unbearably hot on the plane. I was wearing shorts and a tank top and was sweating."

Prós: "The window seat"

Prós: "Friendly Cabin crew Entertainment was above average."
Contras: "First of all I have tons of complaints regarding the airport at Istanbul. They have a poorly managed airport and it was so crowded. The cafeteria and places to eat around in the airport were horrendously expensive and they didn't have services like wifi(had to buy it for $8 an hour and it sucked) and drinking water. As per Turkish airlines, the staff in the airport were poorly equipped to deal with emergency situations such as snow. I was flying during the snowstorm and wasn't expecting my journey to be easy. But they should have increased their resources to help people out in such cases.Their help desk was crowded with almost 500+ of people all the time and they only had 2 people to answer their queries. Also, the staff couldn't understand English properly and seemed irritated when I was trying to explain things in English. I had to stand an hour on a line to get my temporary visa issued only to be referred to another line (yes! i waited for an hour to get to the desk and was told to go and sit in another effing line). It was also because most of the signs/boards in the area were written in Turkish only and I didn't know what they were saying. I had to pay for my own hotel during my transit because the line for the hotels was almost two miles long. And when I arrived at my destination, both my luggage went missing. The crew on board were nice and helping people. I do not blame my bad travel experience entirely on Turkish airlines however, the airport and airlines both are not prepared to deal with situations that are unexpected. I also realize the snow storm was the main factor behind everything however any airlines that boasts itself to be a top class international airlines should have means and resources to manage(at least try) their passengers and airport during any situation. No matter what I am never flying with Turkish airlines again."

Prós: "Although there was only one option for meals, they were good nevertheless. The entertainment on Turkish Airlines is the best I've ever seen on any international airline. There are so many options and the layout is new and modern."
Contras: "Compared to my flight from New York to Istanbul, my flight from Istanbul to New York was less wonderful. The crew was not as attentive and was not helpful in assisting the grandmother who was sitting next to me with her 2-year-old grandson who wanted to know if another seat was available. There was only once choice for the meals, which I found odd on a long international flight, but I did enjoy the meals. The plane was older than the one I took from New York and were less comfortable. I don't usually have a problem with legroom (I'm pretty average height at 5'5"), but the legroom on this flight was noticeably smaller."

Contras: "Leg room was unbearable for a 777, even for a 5'4" person! Only saw crew for the first 2 hours and last 2 hours of a 13 hour flight."

Prós: "In general, service was of good quality. Crew very attentive. The film selection was outstanding. Routing was good. I would not hesitate to take this flight again. Seat are comfortable, although somewhat old-fashioned. In general, I think that this is an excellent airline, my choice for the future."
Contras: "There was some confusion in boarding, due to a gate change not clearly announced ahead of time. But I do not wish to overstate this, since I was satisfied in general."

Contras: "upon arrival, we waited too much in the plane and we didn't even taxi to the gate. we had to take the bus to the terminal which meant further delays getting in"

Contras: "The flight boards in Istanbul had two flights leaving for Cairo at the exact same time but at two different gates far from each other. This caused massive confusion and I ended up running around the airport to get to my gate. Also there should not have been a second flight listed on the boards because there was no second flight. Very frustrating..."

Prós: "The food, the crew, the beverages, the entertainment and the level of cleanliness were all excellent. On time departure on both segments."
Contras: "The Boeing 777 had the new, smaller seats. No control of overhead airflow among other things. Wish they still had the old Airbus A330's and 340''s."

Contras: "For some reason there were 4 really young children seated all in the same area. Kids will be kids, but perhaps spreading them out wouldn’t make one particular area so loud and disturbing. Boarding the plane I a more orderly way would also help."

Prós: "United airlines check in lady in Knoxville TN, She was efficient, caring and awesome. I also loved the air hostesses on Lufthansa flights, they found space for my bags on board and took care of me all flight long!"
Contras: "Lufthansa gate staff may be in need for a better attitude and not the one of a disgruntled child. I would have expected my 3 checked in bags to arrive with me in Cairo, they did not, so making sure the checked in bags arriving with the passengers can be an needed improvement!"

Prós: "On the airline website the price of the ticket was $3000 and I bought it for $750 on Kayak, I expected delays, cancellations or something to go wrong and justify that price drop. Nothing of that sort happened! It was a comfortable and on time trip with no problems!"

Contras: "Boarding was a mess. Waiting for long time in a crowded bus to NORAD the plane then rushing out of the bus to Nita the plane with no lines and having to wait for the crowds outside the lane in a freezing temperature. Furthermore, there was no entertainment on the plane and the food was horrible. Add to this the very cramped seat space and no carry ons in the plane (unless you speak German)"

Prós: "Overall, the main leg to Frankfurt was fine for entertainment and boarding; the staff was pleasant; but, the seats on all legs were ridiculously tight, and the planes were packed like sardines. I was stuck on window seats on 2 of 3 legs, despite requesting window seats, and the comfort on all legs was terrible. In future, I will take advantage of an upgrade offer from the Airline."
Contras: "Read previous comments on likes. In summary, the flight was too full, and the service for my seating was OK. That is it... OK."

Prós: "Crew was good and caring."
Contras: "Seats were very uncomfortable and narrow compare to other airlines plane. There was no in flight entertainment available and that was ridiculous."

Contras: "No reason for the cancellation was given. I arrived in Cairo a day late for a 10 day tour I had already paid for which caused major problems for me. I will never fly Lufthansa again."

Prós: "Didn’t like absolutely nothing"
Contras: "We had to walk from gate z all the way to gate B carrying all the bags which was painful, the plane was very tight and old that I had to put all my carry on bags in the floor. I personally had to help the crew members to pick up the food trays because they were very limited and no entertainment at all which was really boring."

Contras: "Just talked to my parents who were traveling and they had no help at FRA. It was very disappointing and something they said they do not want to go thru ever again."

Contras: "Bought these tickets almost a year in advance. Never given the option to select seats. Both my husband and I were stuck in the middle seats or not together on each leg of our flight. Food was horrible on every leg. Husbands tv did not work. I am petite and seats too small even for me. never again will o give this airline my money."

Contras: "Dear sir or Madam, I’m writing this complaint as I feel so mistreated and so disrespected, I had a ticket# 2208688265549 with a confirmation# WP6DHB travelling from Tulsa , OK, USA to Cairo, Egypt. Everything was great as expected and recommended by my uncle who travels with your respected company at least twice a month till I got to Frankfort airport to take flight# 0582 from Frankfort to Cairo. I was stopped while heading to the plan by the flight manager as he called himself later, and told me that I have to only have one item on the plan, I already had one carry on and my hand bag that has my laptop and the charger, I told him that I was told by Lufthansa customer service the night before traveling to confirm the luggage weight and size that I’m allowed one carry on plus personal item like a hand bag or lap top bag and they have to meet specific dimensions. I even offered to call the customer service number for verification, he replied ‘’I don’t care, I’m the flight manager and you will do what I say’’. His words were really hurting, I showed him the tag on my carry on that I got from the previous flight it said (approved carry on) don’t remember exactly what it said, he reached to my carry on and tare that tag, I didn’t think that was appropriate even if the tag had no value he doesn’t have any right to touch my luggage without my approval, then he tried to grab my ticket from my hand saying I will get you off the flight, I got really upset and told him don’t touch my belongs. There was a moment of silence because I think I raised my voice (my apology to him and to the company for that), I realized that the conversation is not going any where so I decided to file a complaint (not because he wanted to me to only have one item but mostly because of his attitude) so I asked him for his employment ID number he walked away without saying anything, waited till he walked close enough that I can ask him again this time he refused to give me his employment ID number, asked him for his name he said it so softly, I asked him to spell because I didn’t hear it right he said it so softly he refused, then I had to look for his badge and the name on the badge I believe his first name started with P and last name started with T. I waited a few days till I got to talk to my uncle and told him what happened as he is the one who recommended Lufthansa and he has a lot of experience with your services he said that they might need to do that because the flight was complete and they want to offer luggage place for everybody, but what I surprising is there was many empty seats on the plan my seat was 032C and the 2 seats beside me (032A and 032B) were empty also there was a lot of carry-ons room everywhere. So I don’t know why he was this way with me, I’m really disappointed specially that is only my first flight with Lufthansa since 2015, that flight manager made me have an extremely rough experience. one more thing when I told him I’m going to compla"

Prós: "The crew did a great job. It was a little slow to board and disembark but again I'm pretty sure it was the people."
Contras: "One of the crew members at the airport said I had to check my bag but a woman with a bigger bag went on the flight with out having to check her bag. The people flying to Cairo are horrible. Rude, disgusting, disorganized. Took forever to board and disembark the aircraft. If I didn't have to fly to Cairo for work I would never take this flight again in my life. Not much you can do as an airliner though, maybe just warn the tourists about the flight."

Contras: "way too difficult to try to get exit row seats- I went on line precisely 23 hours before the fight and could not figure out the exit rows- legend said they would be marked by a red line but were not. Very frustrating."

Contras: "Canceled and delayed flights are unavoidable but deceitful customer agents is unacceptable. We will never fly Lufthansa again."
