Contras: "Kayak sold me a “lite” ticket on Swiss, but never mentioned that it didn’t include baggage. Even though Swiss is Star Alliance they didng count my Star Alliance Gold status for free bags and didn’t offer an upgrade. Zurich was incredibly hot and the airport didn’t have air conditoning anywhere. The boarding was worse than Ryan Air. The plane was okd and super uncomfortable. staff was rude and not at all helpful. Swiss is definitely a budget air line!!!!"

As my wife and I are both retired flight attendants with TWA and American, we tend to notice customer service at all levels of an airline’s operation. Both our flight out of LHR to GVA and our return were smooth as can be. Nice job, Swiss!"

Air Canada took nearly 4 days to get my baggage to me in Toronto, as a result of which I was unable to attend a funeral in Chicago. I was lied to over and over by air Canada. The worst thing was that in transiting from the SAA flight to the Lufthansa flight we were obliged to go through security which seems unnecessary. The security staff were awful. Bullying, rude and totally unsympathetic to the fact that having brought water from the first plane to the second plane we had to either drink it or throw it away. One guy in particular, a tall greying man evoked the worst stereotypes of brutal secret policemen. Perhaps he formerly worked for Stasi or he was having testosterone problems. Totally unacceptable behaviour."

Given their proclivity for busing passengers to distant planes in Herman efforts, a 50-minute allowance for changing planes, when added to the frequent Kate departures, is just not sufficient. They should acknowledge it and sell only flights that allow for 80-90 minutes in the airports that are so woefully managed (eg, Frankfurt and Munich). It’s back to BA for me!"

I am thoroughly upset because I contacted the airlines 3 times in May to express my concern with the 30mins layover. And to no avail. My worst concerns are being played out now. It appears that their isn’t any concern from the airlines about this catastrophe impacting so many people. Shame on you."
Contras: "The connecting flight departed before the first flight landed. Then I was given the wrong information of gate departure by airport personnel. After running like crazy to find this gate for departure, the plane had already departed before we even landed. There wasn’t anyone around to help, and finally I found an airport worker who gave me the same incorrect information. She was as perplexed as was I. Finally, she directed me to the information booth where I was booked in a flight the next day. The food voucher was insufficient to cover dinner, i had to pay out of my pocket but I was frugal given the financial situation. The taxi service personnel were rude and it took a long time to taxi me to the hotel where I am unable to sleep because I have an early morning g departure. All in all, between the airport delays getting me to the hotel, lack of proper food and treatment by personnel, I am exhausted and lost sleep in the process."

Contras: "While going to the gate G11 at Vienna airprt, i slipped infront of the gate in presence of 3 male austrian airways staff who were checking there. After i got up i requested if i could get some water and they said they cannot. Finally a co passenger gave me her bottle of water. I ended up actually breaking my leg"

Contras: "Someone from the airlines needs to help people transferring at Paris airport. I was sent to three different terminals (which required two different bus transfers) to get to my United flight to the states. I had been warned by a friend that the Paris airport is the worst. It is! And the airlines should bear some responsibility for the lack of clear information. I could write about this for a long time."

Contras: "As I was flying from London Heathrow back to Vienna, I had a carry-on that was allowed on my flight with Austrian from Vienna to London. My carry-on weighed 8 kg, like is required by the rules. While boarding my flight, the woman at the counter told me my bag had to be checked because there were too many carry-ons on the flight. I asked her that I keep my bag because I had medication in there, and she didn't listen to me at all. She just kept repeating that i have to check my bag, and then took my bag from me and gave it to the baggage crew there. I didn't want to make a huge scene because the flight is only 2 hours and I hoped i Could deal without my medication during that time, but I found it incredibly, incredibly rude and awful to not listen to a passenger."

Contras: "There is not enough leg room. There is even less room if the person in front of one's seat has the seat reclined. The seats barely recline at all, so sleep is impossible. Sleep would be possible if there were enough room to rest one's head on the tray in front of the seat. This is impossible if the person in front of one's seat has reclined his or her seat. Thus, sleep is totally impossible on this aircraft. The sinks in the bathrooms also need to be deeper and need to drain more quickly."

Contras: "The true cost of this ticket was extremely poorly communicated. The baggage policy was not clear when I purchased my ticket, and I was charged an additional 30 Euros upon boarding to check a bag that met the carry-on size requirements (I had looked this up ahead of time), but because it was in addition to my purse (which fit under the seat), I was forced to pay to check it. Had I been aware that this ticket only permitted a purse-sized carry-on when purchasing the ticket, I would have selected a different ticket/carrier entirely. What was even more confusing was that I had flown on a similar ticket from London to Vienna, and didn't have any issue bringing a carry-on and a purse, so of course I was surprised when they told me I had to pay an additional 30Euro for the same two bags! When I tried to explain this to the agent, she argued with me and was very unhelpful. Overall, a very negative experience on Austrian Air. I will not be returning."

Contras: "United did not honour the seat assignment that Airfare.com gave me so I sat in a middle seat. But the entire seating plan on United is so bad it should be a violation of the anti torture convention."

Contras: "Seats not to comfortable. Boarding was a mess because they let families with children together with business class passenger and this creates confusing at the gate. There's no entertainment really...but I guess that's not important for such a short time."

Contras: "Our total flight time was about 17 hours - MAD- AMS-LAX. My husband and I both have an internationally approved carry on luggages with us. When we checked in - they asked us to both check in our carry on luggage. The reason why is because they said they don’t think they have enough space for our carry ons. I told the crew member checking us in that other people that was checking in with the same hand carry size luggage with us had no problems taking it with them. For being about to be on a 17 HOUR FLIGHT we should be ALLOWED to have our carry ons with us! We take carry ons for that reason! I had to argue and prove my case to the crew member to atleast keep 1 carry on with us. I thought that was an UNACCEPTABLE reason for us to check in a carry on luggage when we had a 17 hour travel time ahead of us. Not a happy costumer here."

Prós: "The flight was delayed by 40 minutes initially then a further 20 making it an hour late. Sitting at the gate there was then suddenly a last call to board the flight and a mad rush for everyone to get on. I appreciate that delays happen but the lack of communication ragardinh altered boarding times didn't make the situation any easier"

Prós: "Staff superb. They even surprised us with an exit row and a gift for my partners birthday! Amazing. Samantha and Dennis also took time to come and personally wish him a happy birthday. A lovely touch. This airline runs like clockwork. They are just great. The sandwich and stoop waffle are nice too."
Contras: "There is a bus to the plane, so that takes a bit of extra time but they are very well organized."

Contras: "Seats are terrible, no entertainment, and high expenses even for soda! Since when is BA in a race to the bottom with all of the other terrible airlines?!"

Prós: "British Airways sets the standard for great customer service...even in economy. Great food, helpful cabin crew, and help available everywhere."

Contras: "Luckily the plane was delayed as my incoming flight was slightly delayed and BA had booked me on flights that take 40 minutes to get between gates I had to run. From there the delay grew as seems to be typical of BA at the moment. Also by the time the trolley made it to me there was only one sandwich choice left."

Contras: "British air wouldn’t let me carry on OR check my guitar, so I was forced to give it to a homeless man at the Madrid airport in order to make my flight. FlyUs was no help at all, neither were BA, AA, or Iberia. Worst travel experience of my life and I’ve traveled the globe with guitars. Luckily it was an inexpensive instrument."

Contras: "I disliked the fact that when I tried to download my boarding pass on to my BA app, it told me there appeared to be an issue with at least one of my travelling documents when this was absolutely incorrect (was travelling with a valid British passport). I had no problems whatsoever at the airport at the check in counter. Also, the boarding gate was slightly chaotic. Most people didn't know which queue to join at the boarding gate. Some form of clear explanation when you arrive at the boarding gate would be helpful."

Contras: "Rerouted due to a cancellation"

Prós: "One of the staff members at the gate was very courteous and kind when we were late to the counter."
Contras: "At the check-in counter, there were two lines. One that showed Madrid and one for last minute flights. It appeared to be the same line where others were waiting for flights that left at the same time. We were standing in line for 25 minutes for check in before being told it was the wrong line. There was a charge even beverages, which was unexpected."

Prós: "The professionalism of the flight staff."
Contras: "Too small space between rows."

Prós: "Got us (but not our bags) to Seattle. Wanted ro charge for water--are you kidding me??"
Contras: "Abysmally awful customer service--way beyond rude and not at all helpful."

Prós: "We liked that our Renfe train from downtown Madrid took us straight to Terminal 4, same as British Airways. Service counter personnel were helpful and suggested checking in our carryon luggage for no charge. Plane was on time and comfortable for the trip to London."

Prós: "The entertainment was surprisingly good."
Contras: "The seating was tight."

Prós: "Bigger plane than I was expecting. Had I known that I would have upgraded to a better seat. I was just expecting a tiny puddle jumper so this was a nice surprise. Crew were nice, offered food/drinks but I didn't want to buy any."
Contras: "The plane had inseat screens but they said that licensing agreements prevented them from offering any video, games or news selections on a 2.5hr flight. The Pilot said he would turn on the in-flight navigator but it never did work, so I'm not sure what happened there. No internet connection in their fleet yet either. Clearly, this is a first world problem and I would still fly BA. But it's also 2017 and these features aren't "new"; I remember having in-flight entertainment back in the early 2000's on Delta flights in the US, so I'm not sure why it's taking more premium airlines so long to catch up."

Prós: "British Airways rescheduled our flights. The BA website was easy to find out how to claim additional costs incurred from the rescheduled flight."
Contras: "The flight was rescheduled within 18 hours of departure. We were in Spain on vacation which meant attempting to figure out how to get home with Iberia at the Madrid airport, who helped but was super agitated with us the entire time. When we asked for advice on how to proceed, as this has never happened to us before, they just kept telling us it was British Airways fault and that they had no answers for us. This took about two hours plus an additional hour back at the hotel to cancel our reservations in London and figure out how we were going to get reimbursed for the extra night at the hotel and additional costs. It would've been nice to get all of this information in an email, with the new ticket and instructions on how to claim the extra costs instead of us running around and taking time out of our vacation."

Contras: "Boarding process could be improved a little. In general boarding, passengers seated in the back of the plane should board first to avoid clogging in the aisle."

Contras: "Wasn't entertainment...no big deal, I just gave it a no stars because of that"

Prós: "Felt room in spite of being in coach. Friendly flight attendants."
Contras: "Nothing."

Contras: "Flight delayed & on a 2+ hr flight you don’t give anything free to drink. What a sorry airline. Not even human."

Prós: "The plane take off and landing were great. The cabin crew were pleasant."
Contras: "Boarding was confusing as announcements were hard to hear about zones. The plane was old and run down. The top of my arm rest had a plastic cover that kept falling off. There was no entertainment on the plane. It was a 2 hour flight from Madrid to London and we didn't not get any refreshments for free. I would at least expect a drink and pretzels as that's standard everywhere else."

For the night because there are no more connections to atl due to (again) delayed flight. -outdated aircraft. -no available internet -not even phone chargers. Never will fly with British airways or buy ticket through kayak."

Contras: "THE FLIGHT WAS CANCELED. I HAD TO MAKE CHANGES FOR MYSELF AND PARTNER. THE CHANGES REQUIRED ME TO CHANGE TO FROM A BRITISH AIRWAYS FLIGHT TO AN AMERICAN AIRLINES FLIGHT. MY TIME FRAME WAS EXTREMELY TIGHT SO THAT I COULD MAKE THE FLIGHT FROM MADRID TO CHARLOTTE AND ON TO DENVER. FINNAIR REPRESENTATIVES WERE NOT HELPFUL. FINNAIR DIRECTED ME TO GO TO THE IBERIA DESK WHO ASSISTED ME WITH THE PROCESS TO FLY AMERICAN AIRLINES FLIGHT."

Prós: "We did not go to Madrid due to BA's IT problems. Could not find an alternative flight."

Contras: "Ma gestao expectactiva dos passageiros. Voo atrasado resultou na perda do voo de ligacao"

Contras: "3 hours standing in British airways and Iberian airways ticket and checking counters to get alternative flights. They could not do the "entire change" and required that we wIt in line after line. Will be a full 24 hours until the entire trip is complete. Would have been nice to at least sit in the empty first class seats on the transatlantic flight with my party as a bit of customer service. Wondering how many hours other had to wait for alternative flights because they did not use the first class seats as an alternative."

Prós: "I thouht that the seats were comfortable. When we boarded the Madrid to London flight, we were surprised to find that the aisle seats that we had paid extra to book had been changed, and although my husband had an aisle seat, I did not. On the longer flight from London to Seattle , we did both have aisle seats, which was important to both of us. We get up more frequently than many people to use the bathroom."
Contras: "There were a couple of women who were very cold, and there were no crew members in economy class who could speak Spanish who could respond to them appropriately to them. The attendants just kept saying, sorry, I don't speak Spanish. This seemed very surprising to me, as the flight connected a Spanish- speaking country to London!"

Prós: "Crew was friendly"
Contras: "pay for coffee???"

Prós: "The flight was short."
Contras: "The card machine kept declining my cards for a bag of crisps. Seriously! Money was available on all cards. Got to the airport and purchased crisps and tea with no issue. Flight attendants were nice, but aloof."

Contras: "I was offered free tap water. No way to treat passengers."
