Iberia is terrible with getting its passengers online check-in on their code share partners. Was unable to check-in, got stuck in middle seat. Return seems to be the same situation with American Airlines."

Contras: "Flight was operated by Qatar Airways due to strike of some BA union. Aircraft was old and seats not very comfortable. Boarding process was a bit haphazard. (No row-by-row boarding). Even though it was an international flight, there was just a plain sandwich for food."

BA gave excellent support in this difficulty but it was next day for a connection, changing plans for others at home and making it difficult at their end (hotel and pet boarding reservations). There were noisy babies the whole trip--not airline's fault but does make an uncomfortable and long trip even worse. The flight was full, so it's 10 hours in a sardine can--and they wonder why people hate flying now. Hate flying and only do it when necessary (longing for the good old days when flying was comfortable and fun)."

Contras: "Had flight from Rome to L.A., with a stop in London. At Rome airport, had to wait 2.5 hours in the check-in line. Once at the counter, the lady tells me "don't worry you won't miss your flight, because it has been delayed 3 hours, but bad news is you will miss your connecting flight in London!" She says once you get to London, British Airways will put you in a hotel overnight and you can fly out the next day. We finally get to London Heathrow that night, and there is no one at the gate to help us. After walking to the third floor where their departures are (exhausted with two little kids), I find a BA employee. Asked her if she can put us in a hotel for the night, and she says there are no more hotel rooms available!! She tells me to go find a room myself and they will reimburse me up to 200.00 pounds a night, then hands me a brochure about my rights, and walks away. Shocked, I followed the other pissed off passengers to a hotel reservation agency on the first floor. After standing in another line for 0.5 hour, the guy reserved me a room with one bed at the Best Western for 305.00 pounds!! Now I am finally back home, and will see if I can get reimbursed by these cheapskates."

Prós: "Nothing"
Contras: "Flight delayed multiple hours. Sat on Tarmac for 2 hours. Baggage lost for two days. Worst experience flying ever."

Contras: "We had booked seats together two months before our trip; when we checked in (both legs are Star Alliance, but Air Canada—one leg both directions—did not allow any on-line seat choice or changes), we had been separated to different rows altogether (and since it took two Air Canada trips to get from Vancouver to Denver; the first had mechanical difficulties an hour into the trip and had to return), and there was no way to change it online or at the airport."

Contras: "Extra rules about headphones are annoying and no beverage options. Horrible terminal that does not let you get a drink before boarding and gate agent did not update boarding when it was late, so no one could venture off and get a drink of water before flight."

Contras: "Our luggage was trashed. Brand new luggage was broken with holes in the side and wheels missing. This was not cheap luggage this was 10 year warranty luggage but how do you collect on a warranty when you’re in a foreign country? So had to buy new luggage for the trip home. We’ll see if it survives their lame baggage handling."

Contras: "The flight got cancelled way in advance and nobody neither airlines nor webjet.com informed us about it. Also, nobody could replace our tickets for the next day either. So our flight didn't happen and we had to drive to Washington DC to find a flight from there. So we will never buy any tickets from Kayak or Webjet.com! Extremely poor service"

I bought headphones just to drown out his life story."

Prós: "Crew from Venice to Toronto was good, but crew Toronto to Denver was uncaring. She would rather sit in the back and knit rather than help out a cramped passenger in the last row who couldn't even sit forward because the passenger in front on me reclined into my lap. The Lat seat doesn't recline so I was forced to sit sideways, feet in aisle while people heading to the bathroom head to step over me. She did nothing to help."
Contras: "Stewart from Toronto to Denver could care less about my comfort. Being in the last seat, unable to recline, I had the passenger in front of me recline into my lap and refused to adjust his seat. She ignored the situation and went in the back behind her curtain to knit while I sat sideways the entire flight with my feet in the aisle. People going to the bathroom were forced to step over my feet, but at least they were sympathetic"

Prós: "1/2 hour late in departing. 2 1/2 hours. Sitting on Tarmac on flight to Toronto. Too crowded on plane"

Prós: "The crew is top notch. The plane was in great condition, the pilots had good landings. Would definitely fly Air Canada again. Both flights there and back departed on time, never had any set backs."
Contras: "The movie selection is so limited, this should definitely be expanded. Also the controls while you're watching a film do not allow for quick return to main menu, maybe there is but it should be quite obvious how to do that. I'm not someone who cannot handle technology, so it should be easier than whatever mechanism there is at the moment. Good should be included."

Prós: "Flying out RDU, it was delayed for 3+ hours without any reason. Took close to an hour to change flights at RDU with a very grumpy agent. I was told that I could delay a day and fly the same route the next day, or fly to Toronto, stay there a night paid by Air Canada. Was advised to stay at Toronto since the flight from RDU to Toronto delay excessively with high frequency (and it was delayed 6+ hour the next day). Flied to Toronto, was shuffled through different lines without getting anything. At 10:40PM, after arrived 1 hour 40+ minutes, sent to a line with more than 100 people in front of me..... :-( It's a horrible experience!!!!!!!!!"

Prós: "A wonderful agent named Danyelle Mariner in Raleigh did an excellent job finding us an alternative flight when she saw that we would not make our connecting flight in Toronto. Thanks"
Contras: "There seems to be a problem with the Toronto flights in the afternoon. If they are all being rescheduled change the plan."

Prós: "Flight wasn't full so could spread out a bit"

Contras: "There were so many things I didn't like. First of all, the departure time was delayed by 30 minutes. Not cool. Secondly, the plane itself felt very small and old. It was very cold inside the plane which made the ride very uncomfortable. Thirdly, there was absolutely no in-flight entertainment on this flight, making it a very boring experience. I would not recommend this kind of air travel!"

Prós: "My flight was delayed, and air canada staff worked hard to get me to my destination with a different connecting flight."

Contras: "The flight was chaneed gates and not announced that it had been done, we just noticed that it had been reassigned. Not a big deal but it was a 10 minute walk to the new gate and could have resulted in a missed flight if we hadn't been paying attention. The flight was also delayed over an hour and still listed as an on time boarding for the original boarding time, people can make choices about eating or restroom breaks if they know they have an extra hour, also when travelling with a toddler it helps with planning feedings and naps so that the baby doesn't scream the whole flight."

Contras: "Boarding in Shanghai was very unorganized. Business class passengers were mixed in with economy class when boarding!"

Prós: "On time. Comfortable. Good service. But small overhead baggage space. Had to put my carry on under a seat. For those francophones, you'll find that the flight attendant's (there's only one) bilingualism is rather poor. YYZ Toronto Pearson Airport however disappointed me: very poor indications for connecting flights and gate areas."

Contras: "The customs system in Toronto was a mess. We arrived on Air Canada from Hong Kong at about 7 p.m. First, the airline (Air Canada) had us fill out the usual declaration card on the plane. Then, when we went through customs, they had new self-scanning passport readers--which wouldn't work properly--and the one officer there to assist wasn't very helpful. Then we had to wait in a holding area until our name showed up on a screen (about 10 minutes). Then we had to go through another line to get the paper that the machine just gave us stamped. Then we had to go through another line, where they did the usual manual inspection of your documents by a customs officer--who told us that we hadn't needed to fill out the card on the plane. He just threw it away! If they're going to make you self-scan your passport, why still have an officer do a manual inspection? The whole process--just to go through Customs--took about 30 minutes. Then we still had to go through security for our connecting flight to Cleveland. The plane for that flight had been in a hangar all day, and hadn't been warmed up for passengers--so we waited 45 minutes while they did so. Then, when we got to Cleveland, one of our checked bags had been lost (probably still in Toronto)."

Prós: "Boarding and loading of the plane was fine until the generator didn't want to start."
Contras: "generator broken, waited/delayed IN plane 1.5hr+, no snacks or gift certificate given. Entertainment system kept restarting as a result."
