Contras: "the fee should be more clearly explained for example many times you offer flights that have two connections or more to get a seat assignment on each connection you are required to pay unless you want to wait until the last minute also with this ticket you have to board last on the plane when you board last on the plane chances are there will be no place for your carry-on bags so I don't understand why this type of fair you promote because it's useless"

Prós: "Lots of food and wine/beer were provided at no additional cost and the first checked bag was free as is standard with British Airways. Basically I liked that American Airlines followed British Airways standards for the flight."
Contras: "There were no personal entertainment devices, just a central tv for everyone to watch, and there were no charging outlets. The plane was probably from a museum it was so old. After boarding we sat in the plane without moving to the runway for 30 minutes just making the 8 hour flight even longer. The gate at the Lisbon airport was overly small and restrictive with everyone crammed in and unable to leave after initially entering."

Prós: "We were very well looked after by a group of male flight attendants. The plane was clean, calm, quiet and we had all we needed."

Contras: "I purchased a WiFi pass and the WiFi did not work. Since the airplane does not have individual TV’s on each seat, it makes it for a very long flight. I also did not like that the passengers had to take a bus to the airplane and we’re shoved like sardines in a can in 95 degree weather."

Never before experience such a low and virtually feel like an inmate, Just because the person in doing so, was profiling and that is NO GOOD , also the airport is filthy and dirty , Nobody Cares...I will not come again as a tourist to that country.. American Airlines should train the staff to be more courteous and not to ask that many questions ..it feels like you where in Siberia.."

Contras: "7.5 hr flight from Lisbon to Philadelphia on a dingy old plane that looks like it hasn’t been retrofitted in close to 20 years, with no charging ports for electronics, which seems insane in this day and age, especially for such long flights. Had no in-seat entertainment systems either, and only offered news and sports on the American wi-fi service — not their usual lineup of movies and TV."

Contras: "The flight was delayed and then the airport in Philadelphia "wasn't aware" that we were coming to it took forever to get off the plane. I would have missed my next flight if they didn't wait for us. Also I couldn't check in online beforehand, which was frustrating. Also I waited in line at the British Airways desk to check in and it was a long line. When I finally got to the front I was told I had to check in at the American Airlines desk and I wish I had been told that earlier. One staff member was rude when I asked him to repeat the food options."

Contras: "The outdated plane had no plug in capability. No Gogo or individual in flight entertainment. The food was most inedible, the vegetarian snack was a hard baguette with old sliced tomatoes and wilted lettuce. I couldn’t eat most of what was served because it was so terrible."

This after AA had turned my flight on the way out around on the way from Austin to Paris and we had to spend the night in Chicago."

Contras: "Airline throughout mentioned connecting flight passengers are okay as the flight will land almost at the scheduled arrival time but once onboard bluntly announced that we don't have further information. This is cheating"

The boarding process was a bit crazed, we were put on buses in no particular priority order and dropped off at the plane to all board at the same time!"

Contras: "Why would United use a 757 when they know that if the plane is full and there is a strong headwind that the fuel capacity won't get them to their destination! Of course this happened to me. We were diverted to Newfoundland to refuel (after spending 3 hours sitting on the tarmac while the captain arranged to redirect). THEN... the flight crew had been working too long and they had to send another crew which took 4 extra hours. 17 hours from Lisbon to Newark is unacceptable! It could have all been avoided with a larger plane."

I asked an attendant if it was okay for me to move and she stated that it was okay, but United switched a lot of passengers flights around so there wouldn't be any empty seats. I was stuck beside the man, all hanging out of my seat, because there wasn't an open seat available. Thank goodness the flight was only 2 hours long. Overall my experience with United was terrible and I will not be flying with them anymore."

Contras: "Connecting flight from Orlando, FL to San Francisco, CA. Departed on time but still arrive 40 minutes after schedule. Need to have more accurate time. Almost cause me to miss my next flight."

Contras: "Our flight was delayed and there was a really long line of passengers trying to switch connecting flights. There were two women working at the counter. One of their shifts was over. She called her manager and said she was willing to work later to handle the crowd, but the manager does not want to pay overtime so she was told to leave. So one woman was left to handle the massive line all by herself. I stood in line over two hours. I believe if someone is willing to help out that would have been the best solution."

I didn't test it but I believe you can watch content on demand on your own device instead but it's hard to keep the seat back screen turned off. Be weary of tight international to domestic connections at IAD. I had an hour and a half between flights and made it to the gate when they had called group 5 for boarding. This is with Global Entry, TSA Pre-check and priority tags on my bags. I'm sure many others without the above were not so lucky."

Contras: "This airline is so beyond awful. American has the most janky planes, uncomfortable seats, and worst service on the plane. I had to beg the flight attendant to get me a wine because I was asleep when they came by and missed them by not even a half hour... She acted like it was so hard and it took asking 4 times and finally just asking another person. I was so annoyed. They also have shitty food selections per usual. Who chooses those snack items?! They clearly have no taste. I was miserable the whole flight. I usually am not a miserable traveler so this isn't just me being negative, I seriously may write one review every few months, only if something is really good or really bad. The fact that I'm even taking the time to write this says a lot!!!"

Contras: "HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM UNITED AND THE THIRD PARTY CONSOLIDATOR. Awful. Awful. Awful."

Prós: "Flight not too full"
Contras: "Delayed flight, cramped seats, charge for entertainment even though the airline magazine said it was free, crew was a little gruff"

Contras: "Very uncomfortable seats with no leg room."

Prós: "Staff on the plane were great, food was above average"
Contras: "This was switched to United, jammed in seats, poor boarding process, no place for small carryon ; on board entertainment system would stop or slow down."

Prós: "Service was very friendly and supportive."
Contras: "Food was not great. Touch screen for entertainment was extremely unresponsive and difficult to use"

Prós: "Service counter was nice and helpful."
Contras: "United economy plus seat is terribly uncomfortable on the neck. It protrudes it out. I was stuck between two large guys and was uncomfortable the entire flight."

Prós: "Flight attendants were good. Pilot kept folks updated when there was an initial delay."
Contras: "Seats on United seem to be even smaller than other carriers. I'm 5'5'' and 110 lbs and I was still quite cramped."

Prós: "Before boarding the attention was very good"
Contras: "After boarding the seats were broken, there was no entertainment and the food was next to nothing"

Contras: "There was no air"

Prós: "The crew didn’t have most things listed that should have been for sale. They were annoyed when asked for things. If you needed something mid flight you had to go to the service area...they would not serve you at your seat."
Contras: "Everything...app didn’t work, baggage allowance wasn’t clear (extremely overpriced), crew was irritated...don’t use this airline if you don’t need to"

Prós: "Entertaining sistem"
Contras: "Boarding"

Contras: "They charged us extra for set 3 and it is on the back side of a bothersome curtain separating us from 1st class. As the plane took off it flew in our face. Flight attendants took great care of the 8 people up front and offered the rest of the plane the opportunity to buy stuff and drinks."

Contras: "I cancelled the flight within hours of booking and got the ticket refunded three weeks later, not the 5-7 business days they promised, but I never got a refund for the luggage fee. Will do my best to avoid them in the future"

Prós: "Trip was short."

Prós: "Le personnel à bord était très accueillant et professionnel"
Contras: "L’avion utiliser pour faire la traverser de l’atlantic Était en mauvaise état au niveau des sièges, pas de moyen de charger les téléphone pas de télé long quand il y a 9:00 de vol"

Prós: "That it was a safe flight."
Contras: "Plane was old and the seats were uncomfortable even if i paid a premium to be by the exit. I had to pay $250 dollars just to check in ONE bag round trip which is incredibly excessive. Food was mediocre."

Prós: "Excellent"

Contras: "I have to cancel my flight and the meeting I had in Madrid to the 2 hours delay."

Prós: "Food service, clean, friendly service, decent leg room, very accommodating for those with special needs, small children etc. One bag free, Carry on bag, and personal item."
Contras: "Poor information delivery during delays of more than 4 hours (JFK). Pool direction in getting English language speakers to connecting flights. MAD. Poor upgrade options. Unclear gate assignments JFK"

Prós: "Nothing"
Contras: "Boarded flight and then let us sitting on the tarmac for ninety minutes with no water or air conditioning.Once flight under way no food available.DO NOT FLY THIS AIRLINE!!!!"

Prós: "Nothin"

Contras: "Late boarding, and had to get on a bus to get to the plane."

Prós: "From the checking to the security check point to the new plains, spacious bathroom, outstanding service in the air. It was nice to travel comfortable with space between seats and for the first time I ate my food in an airplane!"
Contras: "I can't think of anything.."

Prós: "Delayed arrival of the aircraft in Lisbon , subsequently hour plus departure delay ,onward connections and baggage lost."

Contras: "The seats weren't too comfortable. Not all movies that were in the entertainment list in the website were actually in the flight."

Prós: "Easy check in. On time. Great crew. Love the 787 Dreamliner."

Prós: "For a short flight chair was comfortable."
Contras: "No food, no entertainment. Late plane"

Prós: "I think that good service of a plane should not be paid to watch movies and very uncomfortable watching movie on the phone screen. The WIFI is very expensive and the food looks like hospital"
Contras: "I wish all of the above to improve"

Prós: "None"

Contras: "Food very bad, long delay, reading lamp did not work, waiting time at landing, bad airline ... not recommended"

Prós: "This flight was cancelled without notification, please contact me immediately."

Prós: "Excelent !"

Prós: "I guess not being in the middle seat since there were none and having a seat to myself."
Contras: "There was a delay getting into the plane and then it was still super hot in the plane. Also baggage wasn't clear in terms of buying checked in baggage."

Prós: "Crew was nice"
Contras: "Air Europa lost my bag for 6 days. I picked it up at the airport finally the 7th day of my trip. They found it on day 3 but took 4 entire days to ship it from Boston. Awful. We were also delayed 3 hours in Madrid with no compensation, we got a "snack" voucher that totaled $5. It was terrible and I will never fly this airline again."

Prós: "No había nada que me agradara de este vuelo."
Contras: "Nuestro vuelo entre Boston y Lisboa arriba llegó con retraso a su destino, Lisboa. En Lisboa, las maletas se retrasaron más de 1 hora. Debido a ambos retrasos, perdimos el vuelo de conexión entre Lisboa y Oviedo. En Lisboa, los empleados del mostrador de Air Europa ni nos miraron a la cara. No se disculparon ni hicieron ningún ademán de ayuda. No había otros vuelos entre Lisboa y Oviedo hasta el día siguiente. Tuvimos que rehacer los billetes de avión en el aeropuerto de Lisboa, encontrar un hotel en Lisboa y cenar allí por el retraso del avión de su compañia y el indebido manejo de equipajes. Aunque las compañias aereas entre Boston y Lisboa y Lisboa y Oviedo fuesen distintintas, el asunto de " no es nuestro problema" " no es una sloución" al viajero, especialmente cuando se trata de vuelos internacionales. Lo menos que Air Europa podría haber hecho por nosotros es habernos facilitado un voucher para pasar la noche en Lisboa. Por decirlo claramente, rehacer los billetes a Oviedo y pasar la noche en Lisboa sumó otros 1000 dólares. Ni que decir que en Oviedo tuvimos que rehacer todo lo demás,porque nuestro vuelo no salió hasta las 4 de la tarde del día siguente. La vuelta del día 21 de Julio desde Lisboa a Boston aconteció iigualmente con otras dos horas de retraso. La compañia Delta en Boston e ofreció a montarnos en un avión Bostón-Atlanta más tarde sin gasto alguno. Su compañia en cambio se disculpó en un vuelo internacional. Su lema "No es nuestro problema". De poco sirve esto ahora de vuelta en mi casa, exceptuando que esta familia no utilizará en el futuro su compañia en ningún vuelo internacional, ni recomendará su aerolinea a otras personas. Nunca Iberia,Delta, Air France, British Airways, Tap ni American se han comportado de este modo a lo largo de nuestro recorrido por el mundo."

Contras: "We were an hour late taking off after boarding"

Contras: "Charged 60 dollars for one suitcase they said they announced in the internet the day before. No email or any other notification. belt sign during the all flight for turbulences that neVer existed No food or water because of the sign No entertainment"

Prós: "The plane was new and clean. Flight staff was pleasant."
Contras: "Late take off and almost missed connecting flight to US. The connecting flight was at the very farthest gate from where we entered the terminal. Saw many AE passengers from my flight with disabilities and children struggling to make it to their connecting flights in Madrid."

Prós: "Flight left and arrived on time and seats were comfortable for airline seats."

Prós: "NEW BOEING 787 . IMPECABLE"
Contras: "1. THE OLD AND DIRTY BOARDING AREA THAT THE COMPANY USE AT MIAMI AIRPORT 2. THEY CHARGE US$ 4 EACH OLD EARPHONES FOR MUSIC AND MOVIES 3. BAD FOOD AND BREAKFAST"

Contras: "The flight coming in was delayed so we were too late to make our connection - although we were told repeatedly that we would make it and that our connection to NY would be held for us. We ran for catch our flight only to find out that it had already taken off. No one we spoke to in Madrid was helpful (in fact, they were rather dismissive) until we finally spoke to a rep at customer service who provided us with our new flight (the next day with another airline) and our hotel arrangements"

Prós: "Nice aircraft, nice crew"
Contras: "Had trouble confirming flight on their mobile app, then suddenly it worked. At airport kiosk, for printed ticket, was only in Spanish German and French. Muddled through that and got printout. Then to find out onboard they would even charge for water?"

Prós: "Nothing."
Contras: "I bought 2 tickets at the same time for me and my wife and the sat us separately 10 rows apart from each other. Its stupid they dont let you choose your own seats. Also paying for the bag was another long process and had to go to 3 sepparate counters because Air Europa required a different procedure. Pilots necer announced upcomig turbulence and the landing was horrible. Old and uncomfortable seatbelts. Ive been on 3 flights this week and this was by far the worst. Wont be flying Air Europa in the future."

Contras: "The line for checking in with previous online check in is redicouslously long, what is the point with doind online check in if you have to be standing 1 hour just to drop the bags? It happened in both flights to rhe point that we almost lost our flight from madrid to lisbon"

Contras: "The flight was delayed more than 2hours. Our flight was supposed to depart at 01:15am and until 2am pilots didn't show up. The flight finally took off around 3am....such a bad experience in the mid night"

Prós: "- I like the economic price. - I like that I was flying in economic class and I was allow to carry two luggages. That makes the difference with any other airline."

Contras: "no service was given not even drinks"

Prós: "new dreamliner, staff pleasant, wine service very good, seats comfortable, electronics in good order."
Contras: "no accom for business or tsa precheck in security lines, Very limited business lounge, food there was very poor, bathroom facility limited and quite old. the online situation is bad. could not get seats as the website said was within 48 hours of flight, but it was not, calling is not helpful, plus you need to speak spanish."

Prós: "Pretty standard experience on this flight for what you pay."
Contras: "Delayed. No transparency. Not a single detail with the passengers despite waiting for 2 hours at the airport."

Prós: "Overall the experience was pleasant, once we figured out that things were fine. The crew was friendly and the seats are better than United Airline."
Contras: "We arrived at JFK early 4 hours before departure, and there was no sign and no one to ask questions. The check-in did not start until 2:30 before departure and there was no announcement."

Prós: "I'm six feet tall with long legs and I was actually comfortable for the flight. It was nice for a change."
Contras: "It was a connecting flight for a lot of people but the crew didn't say where to go for connections. I know that's not really their job, but many people (ourselves included) were running through the airport to first find then travel to our connections. A simple "go right for connections" could have sufficed because in a very un-airport-like move, there were no signs about connections, just gates, and our boarding pass for the connection said Gate ABC--which meant it was either Gate A (60 options), Gate B (60 options), or Gate C (60 options) and Gate A was slightly left and the other two were about a 30 minute run/walk. We had 45 minutes between flights, which we thought was reasonable, but we spent 15 of them trying to figure out where to go and asking airport employees who said follow the gate number and when we showed them Gate ABC, became confused because there was no gate number."

Prós: "Nothing"
Contras: "The hour plus delay that caused me to miss connection"

Prós: "On time!"
Contras: "The food is not good. Little space between seats."

Prós: "Almost nothing"
Contras: "The distance between the arriving and departure flights was about 20 minutes walk, and we had very short time to go from one side to the other. Then the departure was delayed without any explanation for about 2 hours. The food is not good. The entertainment system does not work. Even they sell the headphones. Little space between seats. Baggage was delivered after two hours!"

Prós: "The crew was pleasant."
Contras: "The checking in/boarding process was absolutely horrible. Attempted to check in through their app to avoid the extremely long line and it wouldn't accept our passport numbers. After finally receiving our boarding passes, the kiosk for our flight read "Gate Closed" and it seemed to be miles away. We got to the airport well in advanced, but due to the long line and fear of missing the flight, we didn't have time to shop at duty free or get food within the airport."

Prós: "787 was nice. Individual Tv with movies was nice"
Contras: "Plane left 2 hours late and the information why was sporadic. Food below average"

Prós: "Very good service! The best and nicest flight attendats ever! Good food and drink service!!!"
Contras: "The airport terminal in Barajas has nothing to offer compared to other terminals! I wished the airplane could offer individual access for flight entertainment!very good service"

Prós: "I was surprised by the food, and the crew was always kind, warm, and welcoming. I liked that we got two meals for our trip and that the flight was smooth. We weren't delayed at all and everything was incredibly efficient. I was really impressed for a low-cost flight."
Contras: "My partner was really uncomfortable, as the distance between seats is pretty insufficient. I was only comfortable because I am a particularly short person. Also, it was a little disappointing that the TVs on our first flight didn't work and that there were only two TVs for the whole back cabin during the second flight. That is not the end of the world, though, and I think that even on a budget airline, seat sizes are unfortunate. Also, the timing of the movies was really strange. They couldn't fit in two movies for an 8 hour flight because they were timed poorly."
