The pleasantness of the staff No informal cafe. Some across the street, but not in the hotel. Hotel restaurant excellent but expensive and only other choice was on the roof at the pool.
Excellent bed & shower. What else do you need...? A/C in the bed room is a little bit noisy. I had to shut it off.
Staff was excellent. Facility was very nice. Good location. Room is in need of repairs and not up to luxury standards. Shower water temperature was very erratic. Hotel Restaurant was Italian themed, in Houston!

Our room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful. We like the fact that we could park our car and use the shuttle service to get to all the places downtown we wanted to go. It was near a wonderful park that really had a lot going on for smaller children. They had a nice pool. Very accomodating. The parking was really expensive. $32 a day. All the parking near us downtown was very expensive. It's Houston with LA prices. That made no sense.
Good breakfast and happy hour. I did not like that they charged me two times for my stay. When I called I was told I would be refunded and the manager would call me and they still have not called me back or contacted me about refunding my money. This was seven days ago. I will update this when I get my refund

Dallas street was closed so we couldn't park at the hotel, not knowing downtown this was a big inconvenience.
Right in downtown Houston valet parking My bathroom had a leaky toilet so we woke up in the morning to a puddle of water around the toilet floor which wasn't a big bother for us since we were checking out that afternoon.
I didn't like the fact that there was no self parking. There was only valet parking for 28 dollars a night plus tax. Online it shows there is self parking.
The suite room was a nice layout. The valet parking was a complete disaster.
I love the marriot brand. Love the Springhill suites especially. The layout i prefer is always a guarantee when booking with them. Very clean and comfortable. Valet a little pricey. Did not end up leaving my car overnight so they charged me daily rate instead of over night rate. Although my car was literally parked to drop off my bags and change and then again to get my bags the next morning. So probably a combined hour of parking. But they were all really nice and helpful in changing it from the overnight rate to the daily rate.
We were in town for wedding. The people at the front desk were great with directions and making my family feel welcomed. I was surprised when I got to my room because it was extremely large and had a full kitchen. I was able to prepare meals for my children and save money because of the refrigerator and the breakfast buffet. I will definitely return to the hotel for any future trips to Houston.
This isn't a bad hotel, but there are much nicer hotels that cost less than the $* I paid for it. The room (suite) was spacious and there is a nice room service selection. It is located across the street from the downtown police station, so I frequently heard sirens during the night.
The friendly and helpful staff were always able to answer our questions. They have a computer in the lobby with free internet and you can even print for free, which is convenient. They sell toiletries and food which is great because not much is open in downtown Houston on weekends. My ''studio'' room had a full kitchen-- great for being able to store and reheat leftovers. This hotel would be great for a business trip so you don't have to eat out and spend a lot every day. The only downside: valet parking is expensive, about $22/day, which can add up quickly.
The hotel was an older hotel in the heart of downtown. Overall, the hotel met my needs. The bathroom did not have a toilet paper holder and there was a hole in the wall where it was supposed to be. The bathroom appearance was run down and dirty looking. It probably was clean but just didn't look it. The breakfast, on the otherhand, was fabulous. That was one of the best breakfast self serve I have ever had at any hotel. they served all kinds of hot food items and there was quite a spread. The staff was friendly but a little slow in processing our registration.
This was a very clean facility. The continental breakfast was a great supplement to our stay.

Shared two 2-bedroom suites among six people and got great rates. Rooms were each like a small apt with kitchens and a bathroom in each bedroom. Service was excellent and the hot and cold buffet breakfast was great. Parking was valet only but not uncommon for a downtown hotel. Only flaw was pool maintenance going on while we were there; our kids couldn't use the pool.
We were in the midst of a major household move with lots of luggage during our stay. The staff was very helpful in moving our things to the suite. We had plenty of space and having the kitchen is a major plus when we are traveling.
It is in walking distance of the George Brown Convension Center & rooms are quiet. The staff was friendly. Food, bed, my sheets was left folded on my bed for me to make, beds uncomfortable, $25 parking (4 spots only) 3 blocks away, could not get in room until after 5pm
The room was extremely quiet. There were musicians in other rooms nearby that you could hear from the hallway. But inside the room it was completely quiet. That was nice. Also it was nice to have access to a small kitchen and full-size refrigerator. Overall the size of the room, albeit small, was just fine. And the proximity to downtown restaurants and to the venue where we were for our conference was just perfect. Parking. This is not a hotel problem. It's a Houston problem. It just seems ridiculous to me that the hotel should charge $15 a day for parking in an uncovered unsecure lot. But that's the average going rate everywhere in downtown Houston. So I guess you just have no choice other than to pay for parking or to park on the street and take your chances.
The location of the hotel is excellent. The staff was not welcoming and the cleanliness of the rooms is not the best.
