very friendly and nice mini bar never filled in spite of my request on arrival
The bedrooms were very comfortable with good facilities. The bar area was excellent, cosy with good service. The concierge car parking was excellent and the cheapest we've ever had for a city. The hotel was a former woolen mill, so was all redbrick and beams, very stylish-also on the waters edge, very nice. The restaurant was a nightmare, very poor service, Good produce which was badly prepared. In fairness we complained and the duty manager took the whole meal off the bill, even the very nice bottle of wine. He admits they have a staffing problem and has invited us to stay again, with an evening meal included free of charge. I would stay again as it's a lovely cosy, friendly hotel.
I liked the hotel inside and out, very pleasant stay, and very close to the opera house I would only say the bathroom needs updating other wise perfect
Everything - the room was spotless with a nice decor. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely go back and would recommend family and friends.
The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful. The double rooms had been over booked so we had a complimentary upgrade to a suite which was lovely. We were at a gig in the Old Trafford cricket ground and were able to walk back which was great as there was no chance of getting on the tram or bus. Parking at the hotel was £14, which we thought was very expensive.
Overall very comfortable and welcoming Request for fresh milk met but very slow
How pleasant and polite all the staff where N/a
We were met with courtesy and upgraded to a twin when we stated we didn't want a double. There should be two breakfast costs.I Only ever have cereal and still had to pay the full amount as if I was having a full breakfast. This was the only down point.
As always with Marriott, the reception staff were excellent; helpful, cheerful and polite. The decor is very gloomy - I do realise that it's supposed to have a "Victorian" feel, but it's just gloomy. The bathroom in my room wasn't very clean with mould growing behind the door.
Very comfortable bed - spacious room - nice lounge bar - proximity to city centre
We had a great time at this hotel. The rooms were really different and unique and the bathroom in particular was fantastic! The staff were really helpful and friendly and they were very flexible with us as we had to make last minute adjustments to our booking which they did not charge us for. They were very accomodating. There was a wedding on when we were there but unlike some other reviewers we did not feel that it affected the quality of our stay or the service we received atall. We would definitely stay again.
I treated my daughter to an overnight stay for her 30th birtday, and I must say, It is hard to find a small hotel that offers style, quality and such luxurious comfort. The staff were friendly and effcient. The rooftop terrace was stunning, and I can't believe you get so much for the price.
The hotel is a romantic venue, and is well prepared for that. The hot tub is a great idea, but does need to be cleaned. Based on the price of the hotel, breakfast should be included. It is a bit of a cheek to ask for £30 ish on top. We also felt that the bathroom soaps etc were a little lightweight.
Shopping in the centre Some of the corridors to the rooms were very small and narrow, with low ceilings, the lounge had very low ceilings whereas other areas i.e. bedrooms had high ceilings. The colours in the main hotel were dark grey walls, grey doors and grey carpet. Toiletries in room were minimal.
My husband and I were delighted with the total luxury of the hotel in general and also with the kindness of the staff, nothing was too much trouble. nothing
Beautiful room, great bar and helpful staff None
the bathroom was amazing a real shame non guest can come for a drink in hotel bar after 11.which doesnt really work if been out for dinner
the staff were great especially the polish guy (forgot the name).
The staff we very polite & very helpful, the room was of the best quality & very clean. Not applicable.
The room was very original, as was the general design of the hotel The cost.............. it was a bit more than I thought it warrented
Just back from the yha , great location , rooms good size and clean , beds very comfy . Would recommend this to any one going to Manchester . Bar prices are good for bottled beers £2.30 for stella and becks corona £2.60 which you ll stuggle to pay in city centre bars . Never tried the food but a great choice on the menus and very good prices . Ten minute walk to nearest bars in the Deansgate area , good bars and that at Deansegate locks , resturants are 5 minute walk round the corner .
