Nothing to Like They over charge you when you get there for stuff that you didnt even hear about it.
Clean (like, immaculate!), pretty and comfortable. The perfect place to spend a night or two. The staff was friendly, the food was good, and the atmosphere was very peaceful. Walking distance to shops, downtown squares and panaderias. There is a train that runs behind the property a couple times a day. It's not too loud and we never heard it at night, but important to note for people who are really noise sensitive.
the breakfast was okay. location is okay if you're staying a night and have to go to the airport the next day. The front desk staff lacks professionalism. On one occasion, I was hoping to use the phone to book a tour. The front desk attendant said that he knew a better company and dialed a number and my friend didn't really ask for specifics and booked the tour. As a side note, that company that starts with the letter "M" was the worst experience I had in Costa Rica in terms of safety while driving. Not only did the front desk attendant have the audacity to refer us to this "M" company, when I called to ask what the company's name was he told me to act like we asked for the number and not tell anyone that he had referred us to them. This is not even the tip of the iceberg. On one occasion, my friend and I were getting a couple of drinks and since most people go out at night, we were called "squares" in Spanish for staying in and drinking at the hotel instead of outside. We found two cockroaches in the hotel which is normal since the front door is always open, but upon finding a third cockroach a day later, I managed to keep it under a glass and left it for the cleaning staff to discard because I forgot to do it. When we returned later that same night and the room was cleaned, we were not given a new glass. The cleaning staff rinsed the glass and left it on top of the desk. I mean, who does that? As a side note, the cockroach was about two inches big and touched the surface of the cup.
When we showed up at 2:30 in the afternoon we were astonished to discover that they had given our room away even though we had paid a week in advance. They did however pay for and take us to Hotel 1492 which met our needs and was in a better neighborhood.
Clean, friendly, secure entry, free breakfast/wifi/computer, not too far from everything, helpful. Near train track, but only runs Mon-Fri.
Clean place, friendly staff They need better pillows
Good location if you want to walk around . Hot water and clean , nice bathrooms . Good for the money considering the country . Not all rooms have a/c , not that it's always needed , but the city is noisy at night and the fan only noise helps .
I hadn't stayed at the Del Rey for 12 years. The place was still great, perhaps even better.
Location, location, location, walk to many sights. There are many beautiful women, personally speaking I like being around beautiful girls and no one is putting a gun to you to do anything more than have a drink with them. It is what it is.Never boring ! Nothing. No complaints. Great hotel, great value.
Location is great No chica fe Breakfast is good Price is great Staff is very helpful Good drink special on Friday night lots of locals Noise from street is very loud I would get inside room with no widows AC is not the best Rooms have not been updated since the 80s But if want a cheap place and great location this is a good choice
Location, price, food, staff I think they discontinued the good cheap drinks unless you are playing
Front desk staff was nice and friendly. Room did not match photos at all. AC did not adjust so it was either freezing or hot. Lamps didn't work. No window in the room. Whole hotel hasn't been updated in over 20 years at least. Water from the shower shot everywhere but where it was supposed to. Sheets were stained. Not a good experience at all.
