Beds were super comfortable & had great views of the city The hotel restaurant was horrible. The pasta dinner special they had for the Pittsburgh marathon was tasteless, soupy & took forever. We waited over 35 minutes to get pasta w/marinara sauce & a greek salad - really? But apparently that was just our table because a family of four that sat next to us was served shortly after ordering (& they also got pasta).
The beds were comfortable, a lot of closets, fit 4 people comfortably and in a good location (across the T and walking distance to sights). The rooms were dirty; walls were dirty, carpet dingy and shower didn't drain quickly so standing in filmy water while showering. The dining area was not equipped to handle a large crowd-waitress said to give her one min to help us and never returned after 40 min so we went to 711 for breakfast snacks. Waited 30min at the bar to order a drink-bartender NEVER acknowledged us and we were sitting at the bar with MAYBE 8 people -she was just rude! She helped a couple sitting next to us and never looked our way. We left to another bar/resraurant but it was just too bad that we couldn't get service in the hotel where we were staying and inconvenient. We will look for other Suite options next year.
Very clean and luxurious. Great location, the free metro station is only 50 feet away and runs to North Shore (Heinz Field and PNC Park) Price was inflated to almost double normal rate due to Chesney concert; to be fair all the hotels in Pittsburgh inflated their rates
The cookies were awesome and the view from the room was great. A real safe location within walking distance of plenty of nice places. The elevator was slow and getting the car took a bit longer than expected. Paying 20 bucks a day for parking was unexpected.
The staff was helpful, the room service was good and the location was convenient The windows didn't block out the traffic noise, the internet service kept disconnecting, the cable tv connection was faulty the bathroom sink drain plug wouldn't stay closed. I think for the price of the room the inside of the room could he been a little more comfortable overall.

Rooms were clean. Staff was nice and responsive. Parking was convenient. After we were awoken by partiers in the wee hours of the morning, the front desk saw that we were promptly moved. Not much ambient/white noise (e.g., fans) for sleepers who need it. Partiers in the room next to us woke us up at 1am.
The room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. My husband and I were both impressed with the size of the gym and the machines it offered. Overall we would stay there again if we didn't have the kids. We were traveling with two young kids (9 mo. And 4 mo.) and asked the front desk a ton of questions about getting around on their free shuttle, unfortunately they didn't seem to have all of the information because we weren't able to use it like we were told. I also asked for a crib at our reservation and at check in, which was never delivered, we brought our pack n play as a back up so I didn't ask again. The walls are super thin, the couple next to us were fighting and I could tell you all about their romantic troubles.
The location was great. The beds were very comfortable. I tried calling several times for early check-in but could not get anyone one the telephone. The bathroom was small with very poor ventilation.

We reserved the room for my husband's cancer surgery at UPMC. His surgery was rescheduled a week before the surgery date, and I wasn't able to amend the reservation. I knew it was non-refundable, but I thought it would be fair to change the reservation to a different night.
Hotel staff was very helpful Small room and bathroom. Not much room to move around in either. Sheet didn't fit on the bed it was way too small. It came off both nights I stayed. Every time we went to the pool there were no clean towels

The ladies working Saturday night (10/8) are fabulous. As well as the manager that was on Saturday night and Sunday morning. It is obvious that customer service is a big deal here. what we did not like was the horrible hockey team of kids. It was outrageous how these parents let their children literally run around like maniacs. The hotel did their best to control it but it was the parents that were on all of the floors drinking in the hallways that should've been in control of their own children.
All of the staff (especially at check-in) were incredibly friendly and helpful! Seriously, they give you a warm, delicious, chocolate chip cookie when you check in. Breakfast was pricey.

Since it is 2 Star hotel the room price is reasonable. The people at the reception desk are extremly friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and practically furnished. Free parking is also a privalage of the hotel.

The room was clean and sufficient. All expected room amenities were provided and our bathroom must have been recently redone - much better than expected. The attached restaurant was perfect for breakfast and sites available for evening dinners. Like all hotels, the bed spread could be cleaned or replaced. There should be a law demanding new bedspreads every six months. I expected two double beds but was limited to one double and a roll away. That bothered me but that goes with booking online rather than through the hotel proper.
The staff was helpful when our booking was incorrect. We booked 2 rooms and Booking.com had only forwarded the reservation for one room. The staff was accommodating in arranging another room. The Panera Bread Company restaurant on site was a plus. The facilities were old, but clean.

Pillows were square instead of rectangle. Shuttle service only runs on the hour, so didn't even use it when that's the reason I got it. But I was walking distance to concert, even at night.

Staff was excellent answered every question we had and made me feel at ease. The staff includes the front desk, the shuttle driver, and the members of the hotel bar. Bed was a little stiff and the pillow kept falling in-between the head board. Shuttle was full for the Pittsburgh Game the second we arrived. I wish I knew about the shuttle TO THE GAME before hand and I wish I had an opportunity to sign up for it ahead of time.
The location is very convenient for the University of Pittsburgh. The rooms were nice looking and the shower stall in the bathroom was a nice change from the usual tub/shower combo. The walls are very thin and we could hear every word in the room next door. The adjustable "comfort" beds don't work, there is no adjusting them. The room was mostly clean, except there was hair on the bathroom floor when we arrived.
I booked through Kayak at the Hilton Garden Inn in Oakland Pittsburgh for a Business Trip. I specifically picked this hotel because it was the location of several business meetings, and I had several meetings in walking distance. However, once I arrived, I was told that my booking was independently changed to the Hilton Garden Inn in Downtown Pittsburgh. While it's only three miles away, that would require me to spend a lot of time in a cab between meetings, and incur additional cab costs. I did not have time to travel back and forth with my business schedule. I told the Amoma this, cancelled my booking with them, and booked a new hotel on my own next door, the Hampton Inn in Oakland. I have still not received a refund, and now Amoma is asking me for bank statements to prove I booked a new hotel. This whole experience is unacceptable. I expect to be refunded in full, and I'm tired of dealing with Amoma and their booking problems.
The room was amazing! Best price, location, and comfort. Has free parking for hotel guests which is amazing since most parking in Pittsburgh is valet or pay to park. Since you have free parking you can walk anywhere in downtown- amazing! Great staff! I had to check in earlier to get ready for my cousin's wedding and they were very accommodating. I haven't stayed in this nice of a hotel and great price, during Labor Day weekend mind you, in a very long time. Also they have a small market in the hotel and complimentary coffee all day! Good coffee with options. The only thing I didn't like was the breakfast but it was included and had basic breakfast options.

The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful..the best I have ever seen. In particular the woman at the front desk on the night of our arrival around midnight, was a true professional who went out of her way to make me and my family feel welcome, comfortable and "at home". I would stay at this hotel again, based on the exceptional staff. Also, the workout room has nice equipment and the pool was clean.

Hotel always appeared clean to me. Room was nice and spacious and location was conveniently located to city and sports arenas. Yes. In the parking lot directly behind the hotel there is no designated walk-way from the back row to the hotel. As a result, guests have to walk around the entire row of vehicles to enter the hotel. This can be very inconvenient for families with small kids, strollers, wheel chairs and anyone having to get out of the rain.
Free, secure, convenient parking. Very nice, spacious room. Nicely furnished and very comfortable. Breakfast bar was very nice. The television reception was not very good for having a flatscreen TV.
I did not stay at this hotel due to overbooking. booked reservation through Kyak on Saturday 8/8/15; received e-mail later in the afternoon indicating hotel was full; I was informed Kyak booked a room at another hotel which was about 39 miles from current location which was unacceptable. I was able to book at Hampton Inn on McKnight Rd directly myself. I am disappointed in reservation desk at Hampton Inn-Downtown and Kyak for not recommending McKnight Rd location

Came to the Hampton Inn to see a DJ at STATIC nightclub which was only a few minutes walk from the hotel. Wonderful stay, our two queen and sofa suite was HUGE! The pool & HOT tub were very pleasant. Soo glad we booked a room here, had a fantastic night in Pittsburg! Nada!
Basically everything I had booked a non smoking room and someone had smoked in the room.. I have environmental asthma and I coughed most of the night.. I am sorry to have to report this.. I did have a nice time but ...I couldn't handle the cigarette smoke coming out of the air conditioner when I turned it on..
I liked the fact that my meeting was held in the hotel and I just had to go downstairs and did not have to worry about traffic or transportation The service was poor, the bathroom water facet dripped and water when brushing my teeth was not draining Service was very poor - when asked to please give me the TV channels, they just brought me the movie guide only, and I did not even ask for that. Every time I asked for something like, can I have a white envelope for my receipts, the front desk rep could not find any at all, and said they did not have any.

Everything was just nice. For a really good price, my friends and I were able to get a good view of Pittsburgh from our window, sleep in a comfortable bed, and relax in a very clean room. we had no problems at all. The location is also perfect for tourists. I woul recommend this for anyone looking for a good hotel.

The view of the skyline is phenomenal and station square has it's own little night life going on. The shower was outdated and the parking doesn't make sense. The parking ramp that isn't associated with the hotel but is actually closer to the front door is $10 overnight but the parking lot that is associated with the hotel and is further away cost $21. I loved the fact that I had a bed with the works (sheets, pillows, blanket, etc), the room had lights, water in the bathroom worked (both the sink and the shower), carpet, walls, wallpaper, 3-4 framed pictures on different walls, a ceiling, and almost an entire wall of windows. All of this plus things I didn't mention like a working thermostat, light switches, electrical outlets on the wall, and etc. This is DEFINITELY a hotel. Awkward positioning of electrical wall outlets. I damn near bent myself into a pretzel trying to find them.
I come for the STEELER GAMES .. The place is fantastic , easy transportation to the stadium . Catch the ferry next to the hotel . Takes you to Heinz field . Runs every 30 minutes . I couldn't stay longer
We didn't spend much time at the hotel except in the evening to comment on anything we liked about hotel. Staff was courteous. The hotel was very noisy from midnight until 4 a.m. Had to call front desk at 1:30 a.m. to complain.
View of Mellon Arena because my son loves the Pittsburgh Penguins. At the starting line for Pittsburgh Marathon. They did not have parking available at the hotel (full). Expensive rooms. Also, was hoping for a late check out to shower after running marathon....hotel would not accomodate.
The room was decent. The room wasn't ready so they took down my number at 2:45pm and told me they would call when it was ready. I went out around town and came back at 9pm to ask if my room was ready because I still did not receive a call. Terrible follow up and organization! Also - while my room was getting ready, the women at the front desk told me I could use the shower in the fitness area to get ready. I went into the women's locker room and there was a male cleaning it, therefore I couldn't even use it. The locker rooms were awful aesthetically and need to be revamped ASAP. The only service that was great was the bell hop/concierge where we left our bags. The gentlemen there was very helpful, friendly, and inviting.
I liked a lot the bed and the shower. I did not like the location, it is not convenient for public transportation. I did not have a remote control for the TV set for a day (the staff could not find one). I asked for a bathrobe that was never delivered. The breakfast at the hotel is not good, and the buffet is simply terrible.

They told me that they was a shuttle thats take the guest around 1 mile radius which made me wait for about 45 mins until i had to arrange my own transportation. Gave a twin bed for a single person

Public transit and access in Pittsburgh (in general) is a big pain and the location of the hotel doesn't help even though it is relatively close to downtown. The shuttle never ran on time and therefor made other arrangements for my airport run as I was worried I would be late.
Reasonably good breakfast. Room heater was not sufficiently powerful. Temperature kept on dropping through the night. By morning, there was difference of as much as 4 degrees between room temperature and set temperature.

It's a Holiday Inn Express. The facility was clean, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the location near the ballpark was great. Now that that's out of the way, what you want to know is what makes this place better than the rest. You learn a lot about a hotel when the staff is under duress. How do they perform? What is their temperament, their professionalism. I saw it on 8/3/15. Housekeeping was short staffed and the linens came back late from the cleaners. There was a line of impatient people waiting to check in at 6:00pm and their were no rooms that were ready. All the staff could do was apologize and give away upgrades. But through it all, the staff remained polite, positive and helpful. The manager was called and he came and addressed the line of impatient people and explained what was happening. You know what he was doing before he came over? He was folding towels and helping out where he could. This is the place you want to stay. They will do whatever it takes to make your stay comfortable even when they are having one of the worst days possible. Nothing

My wife & I were in town for a concert at the Benedum and this hotel was exactly what i was hoping to surprise her with for our anniversary. Within easy walking distance of both TenPenny restaurant and the venue, this elegant hotel provided another bit of ambience to our weeeknd. The piano playing in the lobby upon our return from dinner set the mood for the show, and the piano playing upon our return from the show was a nice night-cap. For the price, the proximity of this hotel to the cultural district is unbeatable. Our next evening in town will include the Omni William Penn Hotel.

We loved the stay for Mother's Day there food was excellent 5 star the room was little pricey and valet is 34 dollars over night but was one hell of a time, they have a speak easy in down stairs we didn't get in due to closed on Sunday's but love to go next time, the room was a king suite it was nice the bathroom too was nice we had great stay Id say my wife's favorite thing was the food she was in love with there breakfast and the waiter we had was great, the front desk got us reservations at capital grille around the block which was great, only thing we did want was to visit a spa the hotel didn't have one or a pool but we still had fun thanks see you again !!!
The hotel has an awesome location, a grand atmosphere, and the service was second to none! Definitely made my first trip to Pittsburgh a very positive experience.
Loved the beds! Very very comfortable. I heard more than a few people commenting on how well they slept! I didn't have to call room service for a thing! Enough towels, pillows, blankets, and everything worked! Nothing broken, nothing missing, quiet room, great view, housekeeping did a great job. Two different restaurants to dine in/even has a Brueggers in house. One restaurant was fine dining, the other an English Pub! We loved that we could bring our own cooler/or bottle of wine down into the lobby and hang out there. A lot of people did this. Just a pleasure as it's a beautiful old fashioned open lobby with big sofas and fluffy chairs, gorgeous chandeliers! Situated right in the heart of Pittsburgh! Not too far to walk to either stadium, right around the corner from the Consol for hockey and close to the bridge to walk over to Station Square. I would recommend this hotel to any adult couple/group travelling. No pool/sauna or gym. Labor Day Parade made it difficult to get out or around the city when we were there but that has nothing to do with the hotel. Not a great hotel for children as no amenities geared towards them. Price was a bit high, even through Orbitz. I got an email from the hotel after I made my res through Kayak/Orbitz and they offered my same room for $99 per night instead of the $148 I paid (King standard room) but the hotel wouldn't accommodate the adjusted price as I had paid a third party (who by the way, paid them). Not convenient that I would need to call the third party and request that they adjust what they charged me. Hoping that Kayak/Orbitz will still adjust for me! I'll let you know!
The location is great and having both the Tap Room, Terrace Room, and room service was nice. Most of the staff were very nice and helpful. The lobby is beautiful too. Some of the rooms were quite substandard and badly in need of renovation with absurdly tiny bathrooms. More like a 1-2 star level of hotel than supposedly 4. The hotel windows didn't seem to be the usual double paned, and let quite a bit of city noise in, especially as there was construction from 8am-7pm during the week. The floor were also noisy....it seemed like most guests felt a need to slam their hotel doors constantly. Also, the lack of a minibar in the room was quite odd for this level of hotel.
When we checked in, we were told since we booked with an "outside" agency, we wouldn't get "credit" towards our Omni select membership, but we would still get free wifi and free coffee in the morning. However, I was delivered a bill with a charge for wifi. When I checked out, the woman at the desk was a bit brusque about it. She said we did not qualify for free wifi or coffee since we booked through an outside agency, but after I explained that's not what I was told on check-in, she then said she would give me a one time courtesy. I did not like how she handled this, and that's why I gave a three star for staff.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The gym was one of the nicest of any hotel I'd been to. The building lends itself to poor cell signals and the wi-fi is not free. Which is absurd. What year is it?
Staff was friendly and recommendations for food, etc., helpful. Disability accessible rooms met a variety of needs. I had a great view of Mt. Washington, river and downtown skyline. The neighborhood is super cool and walkable. Great access to Mt. Washington, restaurants, shops, etc. I was not aware of the charge for parking, but parking in the area is clearly a problem, so I was glad to have guaranteed space. There were no safes in the room, so I had to ask to have items locked in the manager's office.

They overbooked the hotel. I had to wait in line for over an hour just to find out if there would be a room available for me. When I inquired about canceling my reservations, they then told me I could do so but would not be refunded. The two ladies at the desk gave some of the worst customer service I have ever seen. I decided to continue to wait since I would not be reimbursed for my reservation. After waiting an hour and a half a room became available for me. The lady at the desk was very rude while checking me in. Asking me questions like "are you in rush? Do you have plans or something?" By this time it was 9:00pm and I and I'm assuming most of the other customers of the hotel had plans. I assumed the hotel would offer me free parking at the very least because of my wait. The lady at the desk declined frees parking. This hotel was horrendous. I do not recommend it to anyone. And I will never stay there again.
Clean, nice, comfortable rooms. I didn't like finding a bill under my door the final morning for parking at the motel. $14.00 per day for parking my car in the outdoor lot. I could see if I was parking a second car there, but that was not the case. It is just a way to hide actual costs when comparing motels online.
Sufficient amenities. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Ok breakfast when food was available. Free wifi. Free shuttle service within 3 miles is awesome but never got the chance to use. First off the suprise $14 parking fee as soon as we checked in was the first disappointment. My brother and I were exhausted from our drive and knew they had an indoor pool so we were excited to relax. Pool was small and colder than an outdoor pool in spring time. Their breakfast was adequate but it was constantly out of everything and ended an hour before advertised.
The convenience of the location was great for my stay, but that alone did not make it worth the money. The room was dirty, sheets were dingy and had hair on them, there was trash on the floor, stains on the carpet, and dried blood underneath the sink area and on the wall. The sink and the tub did not drain well. I took a 10 minute shower and found myself in 12 inches of water by the end of it. I had to pay extra for parking which was shocking to me because it made it seem like it was included and it is not the area where I would freely leave my car. When I recieved an email confirming my stay it said that check in was 3pm and check out was 12pm, I had housekeeping knocking at my door at 10:50 asking me when i was going to check out. I will never be back.
I stayed here only because of the location. I needed to be in Shadyside. The hotel itself is okay, clean and safe. The rooms are large and well-appointed. The valet parking is not ideal: not just the cost, but having to wait for someone to bring the car and tip all the time. The food in the restaurant was not good at all; luckily, there is a Starbucks attached to the hotel and a Panera across the street.
Every single person on the staff was so nice, so courteous, and so professional. It really makes a difference. Our special thanks to John at the front desk and Matika, who drove us in the shuttle. The bed pillows. Too fat/full!!!

Hotel room was very nice, spacious, and clean, Really enjoyed the mini kitchen and the layout of the room. I thought it was a little ridiculous to have to pay an additional 25 dollars for parking. You would think that paying 160 dollars a night that parking would be included. Other than that everything was good.
The desk staff was not helpful in the least, they did not want to help make the stay a good one. I believe it is because we purchased the room through kayak so there was no discussion of displeasure at check out. The sheets were dirty with stains from other guests. The in room coffee pot did not work, I asked to have it addressed twice, but nothing was done about it. The TV remote did not work, I had to ask three times to get it replaced. The desk staff were unable to describe the amenities around PNC Park and did not seem to care if we enjoyed our stay or not. As if since our room was prepaid so they did not need to take care of us.
The location - we went for a Pittsburgh Penguin Hockey Game. We had booked online for a King Bed room and they tried to give us a double -Paying for parking at a hotel also bothered us. The bar could not make a pina coloda or a mojito, yet they are classified as a bar. I was disappointed in not being able to have a drink that I enjoy.
location stains on the wall and cost
The location was in walking distance of PNC stadium so we did not have to drive to the game.
Location and comfort Parking is over priced and lack of pool/free breakfast for top dollars stay

The room had a fantastic view of the river (although it cost extra) and great decor. after settling into the room for a little while; obvious dirty spots started to appear. Coffe spilt on the desk, yellow stains on the comforter, and hair in the bed.
Good location for both airport and Consol Energy center. Forgot my toothbrush. Courtesy toothbrush shed its bristles. Bathroom not clean; I could scrape dirt off fixtures. Hotel said they had no queen beds in the whole building.
The price We had to get the key cards fixed every day
After previous customer vacated, bedsheets were not changed to prepare for new customer. Simple things like body lotion would have helped.
Staff was very nice No shampoo left the first day. Bedspread had burn holes in it. It was hot in the room couldn't get temperature down thermostat was broken
dirty , looks like kids did the carpentry work. Air conditioning didn't work.
Great value Very few breakfast options
It was $8 uber ride to the city. Lady at front desk was nice when we checked in. Where to start, the lower level stunk of curry from the Indian Buffet which is generally understandable. The second floor CONSTANTLY smelled of pot- not the hotels fault. The room was dated, no big deal. But the bathroom was literally filthy, tub and surround was moldy. When checked in, we found 2 disgusting things: Blood on the bathroom wall tile, a decent amount that anyone could see to clean. What was even worse, there was SIGNIFICANT blood on the bed sheets- which clearly were not from us, as the other person noticed it when they put there head down next to it. On evening 1 when we saw this, we told desk clerk and left a note for cleaning lady to change sheets. When returning for evening 2, we found that 1 of the shower towels hadn't been replaced, bloody bed sheet still and blood on tile was still present. The Continental breakfast is a joke, with only 3 different types of toast, warm milk and what I think might have been an OJ dispenser- which didn't work. Horrible experience. Wont be going to a Days Inn any time soon.
