the pool breakfast area was far from some of the rooms air conditioner was not very cold
Like the Aegea Sea view and it's 'Pool & Beach' Area.
Walking distance to town. Seafront. The booking was guaranteed seaview and there was no seaview room available when we booked in and therefore had to change rooms after 1 night.
Very nice facility, though there are lots of stairs. The food was excellent, and the entertainment staff ("animation team") organized a super-fun trip to the local disco, complete with tee-shirts. Booked and paid for a room with a sea view; upon arrival, only room available was "garden view" (view of the shrubs and a tree), with no adjustment in price; also, the spa was very overpriced with comparable services in Gumbut at much lower cost.
Spacious room, great views, incredibly friendly staff, fantastic food in terms of quality and variety. I'll definitely come back to stay here. Internet is unbearably slow all over the complex.
food and services. Lovly view from our room and very clean. Beautiful pool and bars and cafes surrounding area No adequate lifts to all floors for people with walking difficulties due to the amount of steps.
nothing no tap water at night, insects(big bugs) in the room, very poor and not fresh breakfast, dirty beach, constraction in progress
It is a very relaxing hotel and the food was of high quaulity I did't like the fact that there was't much entertainment at the hotel, some of the bars wont open every nite and the prices of drinks was very expensive.
the view from our room (sea view).... they should offer free lockers in the room... and spa club charges very high...
Great location, value for money, good food Bed was a little uncomfortable
It had an indoor swimming-pool and a hammam (free for guests). The room had a nice balcony with a lovely seaview. It was quiet. Staff were most helpful. The buffet restaurant is closed off season. The choice of food from the room service is very limited. I ordered the same meal twice, the second time I had salad instead of vegetables. The quantity is limited too. Also guests have to pay for the airport pick-up
The only drawback is the catering facilities. You should allow the option since it is paid for to request these paid for dinners or breakfast to be delivered to the room. It is impossible to find seating especially for dinners and very often tables are reserved and remain empty until the client shows up. This is not proper conduct especially by the staff waiting on the guests. These facilities should be based on first come first serve- No advance reservations!!! See the above. I guess a client should at least have the option not to pay for hALF boerd and eat as he wishes. I paid for half board and paid for every meal I had because so far it has been annoying to try to find seating at your dining facilities
The location was though away from the city center, the beach was nice.It was affordable. Room was small and its facilities were poor
Nice beach, good location and view at Bodrum castle, food's excellent, personnel is very polite and helpful, hotel's close to bus station as well as watertaxi and taxi stations. There's not always enough chaise lounges on the beach, drinks are not included with meals (dinner). It's forbidden to bring food and drinks into the hotel.
- beach, clean sea water; waiters are very prompt to clean the tables; excellent coffee at the bar; tennis; terraces; landscape - this 5* hotel needs a re-evaluation, is rather a 3* clean hotel; same breakfast every morning, no variety, no change in the menu, you have to pay for fresh orange juice at BREAKFAST and dinner (even if half-board paid); not enough elevators on each side of the hotel (very crowded too often); many times either poor communication between staff members, either they do not understand English well, so that messages transmitted differently, wrong, partially; we paid for some items in the minibars we never got - we explained it to reception desk but no result.
Nothing Awful service. This is not a 5 star hotel, it is 3 star with max 2 star service.
Great location, close to bodrum Marina. No way this Is a 5 star hotel, on its best day it's a 3 star hotel.
A good amount of the staff spoke English, which is very helpful, there are also inexpensive and fun things to do right outside the hotel. For example a 7 hour boat trip around Bodrum, meal included, for 20 dollars. If you're planning on staying in the hotel for only a few nights like I did, you won't be able to get your monies worth, in my opinion, if you're staying for a week or so, and can afford it, well worth it.
The views were amazing. Every room has a great view. Also the owners are terrific! They are so kind. They make you feel like part of the family. The location requires you have to be able to walk hills. But besides that it is quick to the beach down the hill and not to far of a walk to bodrum central.
The location and the view (after we paid a full extra night rate to get the sea view room) were very good. The food is very poor, chicken and cheap fish and no variety. The restaurant layout is not compatible with the number of guests and much less with bad weather conditions. This hotel would be a good 3 stars, not even close to a 5 stars quality.
Staff very friendly,great value
The pool was so clean and huge,,,could get some laps in even! The staff were very friendly and helpful. not so good for eating
Staff were very friendly but not intrusive in any way - there was a really nice atmosphere and evrybody seemed really happy. I would return if staying in Gumbet again/
The pictures displayed online do not do justice to the hotel's overall appearance especially the reception and pool side area which were always properly maintained. Another positive is that outside walkway to gain access to the rooms is picturesque and fragrant because of the flowers especially the jasmine! I would say The Tropicana's saving grace was the overall cleanliness of the room and bathroom. The amount that I paid for my week's stay made this excellent value for money. The breakfast prices seemed to fluctuate with the exchange rate! By this I mean I ordered a simple breakfast of bread, butter and fruit juice. I was charged 1.5 tl more for the cherry juice which is cheaper than the fresh orange juice. There is nothing to indicate that during my week's stay at the Tropicana my bedding was changed!. My bed seemed bearly made - just a marginal improvement on how I left it in the morning! The "beach" opposite the Tropicana could be more accurately described as dirt and gravel. I was charged 5 tl whereas further along - less than a 10 minute walk, the beach is as you would expect and you can sit on the sun loungers for free! Finally, noise was an issue for me. The Tropicana end of Gumbet had far less holiday makers than the other side of the beach where there were considerably more bars and restaurants and when returning and walking along the main Gumbet beach front the music from those bars and restaurants was never as loud as when I got to the Tropicana. Whenever I returned to the hotel after an evening out and always after 2300 or so, there was never more than a handful of people at the bar. I don't understand why the music had to be so loud. When I spoke to someone in reception about this I was told that the music doesn't end in Gumbet before 0100 and it was the Bar next door which was responsible for the noise, and that I should contact reception if the noise was too much. Our conversation made no difference to the amount of noise every night. I read a couple of reviews on Trip Advisor and this was mentioned but overall the reviews were positive so I chose Tropicana. I was also shocked to be told when I arrived that the air-conditioning would be £30 per week and if I wanted a safe that would be £15 per week. It's been a while since I travelled....... Is this now the norm?
It is a beautiful hotel with a lovely swimming pool. The food was the standard of a 5 star hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. The transport to Bodrum was very close and convenient. We had a great time in Turkey! The shower was blocked when we arrived and did stink. The more we used the shower the better it smelled.
Would recommend to anyone, we will come again. Fantastic Hotel. Fantastic Value. 100%
great location, great food, and great staff
The location was great for a beach holiday! The Apartments are spacious and very clean. The staff are so polite and friendly, making you feel very relaxed.
Facility is really pretty; room is basic but comfortable. Good budget option.
quiet, friendly environment and personnel
specially I liked the nice gardens, the rooms, the swimming pools, the nearness to the beach and the variety of the menu in the buffe I did not like anything the environment of the night because the music of the bars is listened from all the rooms (we had to change room to be able to sleep, but in the second room we could not sleep either). It is difficult to rest during the night in the hotel.I think that is a hotel to have fun and not to rest.
Good pool/beach. Entertainment good at night. well located in heart of Gumbet. Friendly pool staff Room was terrible - nothing like net picture. Front office staff very unhelpful - in fact I witnessed an almost brawl between customers and Mgr. Way over priced for the standard of accomodation
Cheap, close to the beach, large rooms, friendly staff, nice pool dirty rooms, poor location, loud
Clean, confortable and spacious room. Nice breakfast and dinner. We were allocated to a very loud room at first but agreed to swap room with one in a quiet location facing the gardens. Very happy with the room. The hotel didn't seem to be very busy due to the low sezon.
Location was excellent
Proximity and price
Everybody was kind and trying to make our staying better. The hotel is old and must re-built. The rooms has moisture, didn't have fridge.
Location of the hotel is excellent: on the beachfront and close to shops/bars. A minibus (dolmus) to Bodrum serves the street on which the hotel is situated. Room met my expectations for this price; bathroom was a bit old but clean. My room was sitiated opposite a staff office. Staff could be noisy. Overall, the staff of the hotel could be a bit more considerate/nicer to the guests.
ı could not stay at the Sami Beach Hotel as they are full even I have confırmed the reservation.
The close distance to the sae .
Good location, just few meters from the beach. A nice swimming pool The bathroom in the room was not very good
I liked the pool. It was near the busy street of Gumbet, however it was not noisy in the hotel. The room as well as the toilet were tiny, no facilities like fan.
close to bar street, and still quiet location without too much noise rooms and especially showers in rooms are not cleaned properly. towels are not changed on regular basis. breakfast food is not always fresh
Although there was limited English spoken the staff were excellent. They worked very hard to make my stay enjoyable. The breakfast was great, and the pool was nice. The location is perfect, close to the bars but far enough away you do not hear them and close to the beach area. Bus access at door. I would and did stay here again! not a thing!
