Very friendly staff, and it's closeness to the city center. 10 min w. cab to Austin convention center. Breakfast was not especially impressive.
The staff was very helpful in giving me directions and suggestions of places to go and see. Everyone I came in contact with (on staff) was very gracious. The late night room services was punctual and the food was good. The swimming pool was pretty nasty - the water was cloudy and looked like it was stale. Also, I stayed three nights and was disappointed to find that I was given what appeared to be one of the smaller, older version rooms that faced the parking lot. I noticed in passing a room where the door was open that other rooms had a flat screen television. Just this minor thing makes a difference in how the room feels (ie, the flat screen tv gives the illusion of a bigger room because of the additional open space not taken up by the older 'box' tvs. Had I realized the difference in rooms when I first checked in, I would have asked to be moved. Since this was my first visit to Austin, TX, and it would have been nice to have a view of the city.
The hotel staff was most helpful. Fitness is poor and doesnt have any facilities. Hotel administrator was rude, besides, he was the only rude guy in the hotel team. Nearly impossible to catch a taxi - its more like the problem of the city not the hotel. But the fact is that hotel is like 6 miles from downtown so the transportation is a big issue.
People: everyone was cordial and useful The AC and TV in the room are old and the AC is very noisy.
The location and staff are great. The facilities are under construction that results in an annoyance and hit and miss with rooms and floors.
Free Wifi, nice room, nice staff. All in all a nice hotel. Breakfast buffee was a joke. Almost nothing to chose from. Though the staff was helpful to get toast. The hotel is not situated downtown. You need to get a taxi ($12) to get to downtown Austin.
A bottle of champagne or wine a lil more romantic vibe would've been great especially since we're from out of town celebrating New Years Eve
I liked the shower, and the tall ceilings. Lighting in room was poor. Internet details stated that there was a lounge on site. There's a sign on the front of the building that states there is a lounge on site. I had invited clients for cocktails after work, only to find that the bar was shut down and had to scramble and notify everyone we'd have to meet somewhere else for happy hour. I likely will not return. I"ll have to go back to the Wyndham or Omni.....
Comfortable, clean. Pool was being serviced so we couldn't use it, and no where to use a computer to print something.
Such an amazing wonderful place to stay! It's very clean and comfortable place to stay for couple of nights. What I didn't like about it was the wi-fi, because the signal was too weak from our room.
Checking out Their website is misleading. This is not a boutique hotel, it is a run down roach hotel. The first room they gave us smelled like cat piss. The second room and garbage in the bin. Stains on the floors, cracks and scuffs all over the walls and silver fish in the bath tub. Totally gross, we did not want to spend any time there and were upset we couldn't get a refund. There were also some mystery stains on the sheets we didn't see till the morning. Also, we could hear our neighbors conversations very clearly. Awful awful awful. This hotel should be $40 a night, not $179.
It was not a boutique.. I slept in full clothing attire.. That was my level of discomfort. Everyone was nice but it's not a place to stay for $200/night .. More like a 1 star then I wouldn't complain. Misleading for sure. Just FYI.
Not a thing at all! The drug deals in the parking lot with plenty of thugs lurking around. The room itself was very stinky muggy and hot with cockroaches already living there permanently.
Nothing Felt unsafe.. Looks like a hotel that rents by the hour. Suppose to stay 4 nights, stayed 1 night and went to a nearby wyndam for remaining 3 days of our stay.. We normally not very picky because we don't spend much time in a hotel room but this was a miserable nights experience..
I liked that I didn't die or get hurt. It's in a sketchy part of Austin. There are roaches everywhere. The bathroom floor was literally mushy, because water had gone under the stick-on floor laminate. Beds were far from comfortable, had a dip in the middle of the mattress. Pubes on the pillow (!!!!). No fridge or microwave. No closet. But the people were the worst part. Other guests were so seedy the motel has a security guard at night and a CURFEW. I witnessed a fist fight and the police showing up. I heard a very loud verbal fight outside my window the first night, then the second night was worse: someone kept yelling, "NO PLEASE DON'T!" over and over, then I heard what sounded like physical struggle, and then a lot of human whimpering. I literally couldn't tell if they were male or female. It was horrifying. I called 911. I will NEVER stay there ever again.
Location Bed sheets stained, water pressure super low, very flat pillows, remote control for TV not working, requested to change rooms and not help with that
Found 7 roaches in the first hour! Water pressure wasnt enough to get the shampoo ouf of my hair. There is only sheets on the bed so if u get cold suck It up. Worst motel I have ever been to!!! Will not stay here again. Would rather sleep in my car.
We didn't get at time, because our flight was late twice, so i called motel 6 to said that we arrived late, at 8am and then didn't refund our money because we didn't stay there.
Room was clean and comfortable. It was definitely on the small size for a room and was a little cramped for the 4 people we had staying there but for the price it was certainly acceptable.
I really liked the room. The hallways.
All hotels was booked! We were there just to sleep. The room was for no smoking, but it smelled like smoke. Had to buy spray disinfectant to cover it.
The close location to the airport It was very dirty and When I asked the guy at the front desk where the pool was he said oh it's been under construction for months and I told him it didn't mention that online and he said well I've learned to call first to ask ahead. Rude.
The hotel staff, the man up front, was very helpful. He got a room cleaned for me earlier than expected. When I told him I didn't like the room, he said he would get my money refunded and didn't give me any trouble. Good location, staff was great, but my room smelled pretty bad and there were no other singles available.
The location of this hotel is very good and it is very closed to anywhere in Austin. The other things that I liked best about the hotel is cheaper than the others. When I entered the hotel, it smelled terrible that is kind of moisture. My room smelled very bad. Secondly, Police officers came to the hotel two times. You can see a great deal of bugs and and blanket and pillow are't clean. I didn't like bathroom.
Free Internet. Clean room. Felt safe leaving my motorcycle outside. Friendly service.
The bed was comfortable The swimming pool had been filled in & was a weed bed. There was a strong smell of marijuana when we got off the elevator on the 2nd floor. The hotel sign was hidden behind trees, so we passed it up on the feeder road.
Nothing The room was not clean and smell.the hole hotel smell like somke.
It has a good location. The lobby and room were dirty
was suppose to have twin beds only had a full bed
Staff tried there best but location needed significant upgrade. I stayed there 10 years ago but will not stay in future. Old and needs of upgrade. I couldn't even take a shower because water pressure was to low. Front door was loose and unsafe.
nothing! it was horrible and dirty.when i booked this Howard Johnson, i figured it would be like every other one but it was nothing like i have ever experienced. i didn't like the fact that at all hours of the day and night there was a man outside selling his drugs, and the staff allowed it, i felt unsafe and the property from the outside looked horrible, worst experience at a Howard Johnson ever.
