The service was wonderful, our room (in the old wing) was very romantic and comfortable. Food was lovely and the hotel has an excellent location in the French Quarter. Hanoi is small and it's only a 10 minute walk to the Old Quarter as well. The only thing that was a very small disappointment was that they took our towels away for laundry even though they instruct us to hang them up (which we did) to save on washing for environmental reasons.
Truely excellent colonial hotel. Service and facilities are superb.
Fabulous hotel, I would say the best I have ever stayed in. And though it's expensive for Hanoi, you would pay an awful lot more for a hotel of this quality in another country
The concept of two hotels in one was wonderful and it was a pleasure to see the ladies in their beautiful Ao Dai traditional dresses. Concierge services were very effecient and the hotel arranged all kinds of transport- rickshaw rides, taxis etc were easily arranged. On my last morning I stopped to eat breakfast at one of the restaurants and ordered pancakes ...and was quite taken aback to see both the poor quality and presentation of a basic breakfast item. The other thing i would like to point out is that a steward named Toh near the pool offered to arrange a car for us to a trip to the nearby villages- he said the hotel was Ok with him doing this service. The driver who drove us to the villages was constantly talking on the cell phone and driving single handedly which made us very uncomfortable. He also didnt know the roads. He was supposed to drop us to the airport the next morning and he didnt show up! I would recommend the hotel discourage their staff from offering such services.
The stalfs are very helpfull and the room is really clean Lobby too small and is very noisy when there is lots of people in the lobby
The bed was very comfy The hotel never received my booking via booking.com and this caused me many problems. The staff helped and contacted yourselves but they had no record of my booking despite me having confirmation from your site. Also the shower continually leaked and this was an issue.
Luxury rooms, pleasant bar and swimming pool, good fitness centre and spa, attentive staff, helpful staff
The hotel is advertised as being the oldest and fanciest hotel in Hanoi. We splurged and booked a room for one night with a small child. When we arrived, we were told that we would not have a room in the original hotel but would be given a room in the new addition. We needed to pay an extra 60 dollars to stay in the original section. They should make this policy clear to potential guests. We also requested a rollaway bed and they stuck it in the very tight living room, which was about 5 ft wide. The staff at the pool restaurant got our orders wrong--forgot my sons drink, and brought my husband the wrong beer
We stayed here for a night splurge to end our trip in Vietnam and it was well worth it. Not cheap (certainly by Vietnamese standards) but very, very comfortable. Everything you'd expect from a high-end hotel.
it takes you back in time - luxurious. they charge $5 USD to use the internet and $1USD to photocopy a page - for a hotel of this standard these should be free.
Feeling of french colonialism.
The hotel decor is attractive; even the new wing feels very traditional. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly.
Large, comfortable room Indifferent staff
I loved the fitness centre and the spa centre. The breakfast was also good The bathroom was small and not very attractive
The hotel stuff are friendly but have some language problem. The rooms have to be fully renovatiaded. They are quite old and bath rooms are not good enough.
The service was mediocre for a 5-star hotel. Almost all 3/4 star hotel that I've been in Asia would beat it hands down... Overpriced for Vietnam.
Food was really good in all restaurants. Facilities are old
The comfort, relaxed ambience and the friendly helpful staff. The food was good too, and lots of choice for breakfast Liked the mixture of Vietnamese and Western style food. No.
Location. It's in the business centre and within walking distances to shops and sites. Service. Staff were more interested in their chitchatting and reading fashion magzines. It's not only myself have the bad experience, other people have said about the same.
I stayed in a Suite, just fantastic Maybe the room service menu card could be more elaborate
Bedroom en breakfest very good.
Shop. Visit crafts villages. Filled about 6Gig of memory cards with pictures Although friendly, the staff was somewhat unstrained.
room service staff and cleaning staff , the do every thing to make confortable spicaly afternoon bed arrange is good with flower i expected welcome fruit basket as usually most hotel at hanoi , the breakfast is very very bad even the staff no good service speacialy when they start arrange the tabel even before breakfast time is over , and they talk together shouting ( high voice mean ) even I take dinner once but open buffet is very very poor
Luxurious feel Room felt a little humid/damp.
Friendliest staff ever... They go way beyond their responsibilities to help... the room was next to the elevator and it is beeping constantly... it is not a complaint; i will know which room to book next time.
Arrived late and was very tired. Was given a room they knew had non-functioning air conditioner.Vietnam in summer is not place to be without AC. They pretended they didn't know, but the room had evidence of being rejected by other guests. Finally got different room next day. Inexcusable behavior on part of hotel.
The staff at the front desk, concierge and at breakfast. It does not have a swimming pool. It would be wonderful if this place had a swimmin pool and a hot tub.
Great staff, clean rooms, very nice
Very polite staff
Room was very clean. My room does not have a bathtub. Breakfast was a little bit poor.
Excellent hotel with friendly and helpful staff. delicious food and ideal location in old quarter.
Very good hotel indeed, everything is perfect. Location is excellent, the executive room was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. Staff are very helpful and polite. Breakfast is also excellent. nothing that i can mention
The proximity to the old quarter and the beautiful lake
brilliant location, superb quality, elegant room and staff!
Place is very peaceful and quite. I cannot comment about location as I did not have a chance to walk around. But seems to me that is a little far from downtown, 15 minutes by taxi.
Perferct service in all aspects; beautiful location in pavillions in the Westlake The concierge mixed up my check-in luggage with a group of other guests and left in a bus, but the concierge manager solved this problem in the most adequate way and my suitcase was delivered to the airport by her personally and I was still in time for checkin-in. Good solution, however they should avoid such situations
Good lake front location. Quiet. The view from the lakefront bar is just wonderfull. Good services as you would expect from any InterContinental. Good restaurants within walking distance. Nothing.
room, facilities, tiny caffe Latte for breakfast rather than a mug check-in 3 PM or later.
superb, timely service, what you expect and this is what differentiates the 5* hotel from the 3* hotel.
The hotel is located next to a beautiful lake and the sceneries are great with excellent service and very efficient and polite employees Had dinner at the Milan Saigon Restaurant and the food was not good considering that we paid US$ 120 for 2 persons which is really expensive and the quality is really not up to a hotel of that status but the prices are exhorbitant.
Absolutely excellent service! The staff were always friendly and ready to help with any request for assistance. Internet access should not be an extra cost item at a hotel of this nature, especially when the rate for 24 hours of Internet access is more than what I pay at home for a whole month's Internet access!
The hotel is new ,clean, facing water and excellent for relaxation When it is raining we have to walk to the main building which is not convenience and will get wet
This is an amazing hotel just close enough to the centre to enjoy the hustle and bustle and just far enough to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. It is a tranquil setting (with the hotel built on the lake) and the rooms are stunning. The sunset bar is a must for chilling out after a hard day sight-seeing!
Very nice hotel good quality price ratio
The room is beautiful and the hotel is very unique in the city and very nice. The staff are hungry for tips..but worth it to stay in The location is not in the center of the city
good The travel agency is lier. the vietnamese man request more commisson for himself and refused to pay back ticket fee when I cancel the flight. disgusting expierence.
The hotel was really good and the rooms are also very good .It has all the facilities of a good star hotel ,It was impressive .Anand Jain The gym was not that great ,It lacked quality equipments and it really needs a makeover ,otherwise other facilities like sauna and Jacussi are very good .
The hotel was superb and very comfortable. The bedding is just great. Feel very comfy inside the room. Great value for price and personnel is very receptive and handy.
The bed was really comfy and the pool was lovely The shower was terrible, the toilet looked dirty. Overall the hotel reception area looked 4 star but the room was more 3 star. Very disappointed as it was overpriced for Asia
Just happy with the facility the hotel provide. Not too crowded.
I like the fittness center The service in the restaurant during breakfast time was poor
Efficiency and kindness of the staff. Breakfast with a wide choice of international, japanese, chinese and vietnamese foods. Taxi service with a possibility of more lengthy rents (some hours - trip to the Ba Vi national park) with acceptable prices. The pool was dirty at our arrival but it improved considerably during our stay.
Friendly and efficient staff, all was well organised with attentive personnel.Position of hotel was to our liking for access to shops and places of interest. Would have liked bath robes in the room.
welcome approach The cleanliness at the jacuzzi and sauna was very bad
Only the bell and concierge staff are helpful everything except the bell and concierge staff
Conifer is very centrally located - literally around the corner from the Hanoi Opera house. My room, although street facing, was reasonably quiet. It was modern and comfortable, a good enough copy of a 5-star hotel room. Service was pleasant and helpful. Overall the hotel is well worth the money.
Located on a quiet street, this brand new hotel is less than 8 mins walk from lake, "old" and "French quarters, with Opera round the corner. The rooms have balcony for having your G&T, and there is a nice outdoor service area by the street. Choose this hotel if you don't need a swimming pool (there is so much to see in Hanoi you probably will not find time to use it anyway). I probably would pick this hotel again - cost is 1/2 of nearby Hilton. Travellers from the US would likely find the rooms too small but not an issue for Europeans. absolutely not
