Staff was excellent, room was clean, bed was comfortable, wi-fi was strong. Would have liked to have a mini-fridge in room. Hotel was overrun by high school children. They were loud, and made simple things like using the elevators/ice machine miserable. I fully understand that this was not the Hotel's fault.
room size and bed I didn't like paying an additional $23 to park at the hotel. No mini fridge and no microwaves in the rooms. I did not like paying $3.50 for bottled water in the room. No exhaust fan in the bath room. Very hard water.
Hotel was very comfortable. It is within walking distance to major attractions in Austin. Yet the price was very competitive. I have enjoyed the stay despite some critique of construction going on. It didn't bother me a bit. Strongly recommended.
Parking is $20, this was not on the listing when I paid for room. My room was next to elevators, bottle water was in the room w/ a hidden fee of $3.50/bottle, the light in bathroom worked only some of the time, and the following morning when I went to my vehicle to leave, there were beer bottles around my truck and urine stains on the concrete, also, next to my truck. My overall experience was terrible, I would never consider staying here again.
The location of this hotel was absolutely perfect. The staff were very accomodating. The rooms were wonderfully spacious and clean so absolutely no complaints there. I would probably never again stay at a hotel under construction for the amount of money I paid. I had no idea the extent of the construction before and while booking. It had elevators non functioning and we had to use service elevators at one point it was just odd. I could have stayed at a five star for the price I paid minus the construction.
Decent room, close to the activities on 6th st Kept up the last night by roudy people in nearby rooms.
The staff were very quick to help with anything we needed. After searching the vending machines on our floor and those above and below us for bottled water, we called down to the front desk to ask where we could find some to purchase, and they immediately had four bottles sent up at no charge, which arrived quicker than I'd have thought the elevators would allow. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. I have back problems, and the bed, though a pillowtop, had springs that were easily felt through the mattress top. The pillows were fine down, but far too soft to provide any support--though I'll be the first to admit, I'm picky about my pillows.
It was near the Capitol and many good restaurants. We especially enjoyed Maria at the coffee/snack counter who had our coffee poured when we appeared in the morning. She was delightful. The staff was exceptionally accommodating. Overall, it was a good stay. Easy parking for vehicles but there is a daily charge, less if you self-park. We were there five nights; two of those nights the room was not cleaned. The first time, we mentioned it. When it happened again the second night we were pretty vocal about our frustration and dissatisfaction. The room did get cleaned the following day but it was our last night there. At checkout they did offer a discount and apologized.
Loved the room and how clean it is. The breakfast buffet was great. Parking could be a little cheaper...but overall it's a great hotel . Vents in the bathroom would be nice. But everything was really great.
The butt sniffers at the front desk wouldn't allow me to check in since I am only 20 and 10 months (not 21), even though it was prepaid and they had my card on file. I had to get a friend to come cosign the room with me to be able to claim it... Total ridiculousness and they could have been more accommodating.
Terribly loud street music till midnight. Very thin walls.
You can walk to all the action in downtown Austin Small parking garage - can't fit a big pickup truck - had to park elsewhere and even those lots were tough...but that's Austin for you...they would like the whole world to drive tiny electric cars :)
Room was pretty much brand new. Staff was really nice. Location was great. It was a bit pricey, but that week all the hotels in Austin were priced high.
I loved everything about this hotel, from the valet to the hotel staff, great service all around.
Good room nice both room
Location and price. The front desk person was not accommodating. Had booked a king bed for my wife and I and at check in was simply told they don't have one and that we would need to take a room with 2 double beds instead if her upgrading us to a different room w a king. Upon arrival at our room, the keys did not work and then had to move rooms
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to the location for the wedding we were attending.
Breakfast was delicious, beds were adjustable, room had great amenities, very clean, greatly enjoyed my stay The hallways were a little loud
The location is excellent for Austin downtown activities Poor Internet connection
Great location for access to entertainment. Excellent buffet breakfast to tide us through the day. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cigarette butts in surrounding walkway near the river. Nearby ash tray. People are pigs. Sofa bed sheets pretty rough.
Good front desk service Checkout isn't till 11pm. House keeping kept trying to come in before 9am , kept waking us up twice!
The place was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was excellent and the location is great if you want to hit the downtown Austin touristy stuff (which is plentiful). The bathroom was extremely small (you had to step outside the bathroom to dry off), and rather weirdly, the toilet was shallow -- which I mention because you WILL get wet using this toilet. Very uncomfortable for a man. Never seen a toilet like that, and I hope to never see another one again. The AC didn't work well and was a bit noisy.
Very close to downtown clubs and restaurants. Good restaurant on 18th floor. Safe area. Very tiny pool. Really it was the same size as the spa. It was just for cooling off.
Convenient location $16 a plate for breakfast with no warning. $30 mandatory valet with no warning.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful here and the price was better than most hotels in the city. We really enjoyed our stay here! Valet parking is pricey
The staff was amazing. Very nice and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect for what we wanted. The room was a bit muggy and humid.
Staff was terrific. The room was elegant and detailed with elegance and comfort. Extremely impressed with the ambiance, cleanliness and European delight found so close to downtown Austin. Highly recommend this hotel... a special treat was the bed turn down without special request.
Laid back, helpful and comfortable, situated close enough to the city.
Everyone was very polite and helpful
Close to downtown. Friendly and helpful staff. Luxurious linens.
Gorgeous architecture -- internal and external. Beautiful huge rooms for a very affordable rate. This is a great hotel for a romantic getaway in the friendly and fun city of Austin.
Restaurant staff especially accommodating - stayed late to serve me.
This was a very nice boutique hotel...nice staff, nice restaurant. Close to the unioversity and close to downtown. The room was a little small (petite queen) and our room location was next to the front desk.
Location, cookies. Parking area too small and damaged the nose of my car when pulling in and out of the lot. Breakfast was exceptionally slow to come (45 minutes) and of poor quality when it did arrive (cold and disgusting). Still liked the hotel overall but would eat elsewhere.
A very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Small, non-chain place with great charm. Enjoyed sitting on veranda with a glass of wine. Wish I could've stayed longer.
Wonderful room, staff, and overall feel.
The equipment of the hotel is on very good level comparable to other high class hotels.
Nice staff. Good location next to AT&T center. Nice breakfast and gym. Pillows need help. Sink was smelly and needed to be cleaned out. Some long black hairs very obviously around.
Beautiful Decor. Very Clean. Super friendly staff! The view from my room :(
- Free breakfast - Complementary Happy hour - Complementary Snacks/brown bags
Parking is 31 per night, then there is tax and tipping valet. Added about $90 to our 2 night stay.
The staff and location were awesome! They double charged me for parking but fixed it immediately when I pointed it out.
the location and the pool the parking with the valet service is quite expensive
Horrible stay overall given that this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel which it is NOT. It has one outdoor pool which is off the other side of the hotel and barely heated for our stay. Spa also terrible with no whirlpool, sauna. Only a small steam room in each locker room. Room and view were nice in downtown Austin, but that is about it. No tennis courts nor golf and only 3 or 4 spa treatment rooms. Gym area pointless with only a few treadmills and free weights. Will not stay again given price and lack of amenities. How is this 5 star??? not a typical four seasons for sure!!
The Four Seasons Austin is a magical place. The building and grounds are the best of the best. Austin is a beautiful city and the Four Seasons helped us to enjoy and experience this great city. We asked the Concierge what there was to do in Austin. He told us that he might be able to get us tickets to see Wicked. He did. The performance was sold out and was truely amazing. As great as the hotel was, the staff were even better. Why do we like the Four Seasons so much--because the staff provide a level of service that we experience no where else. My wife told me that they made her feel like the most important person in the world. We want to go back to Austin, to spend more time at the Four Seasons and to spend more time in this very special city.
The charm and the location. The bar was also fun and lively. Rooms were a little dated.
I attended a conference at this hotel, so the rate was much below market rate. I upgraded from a Cityview room to a Lakeview room. The two rooms are identical, the only difference is the view, so decide if the view is worth the extra. In my case, I thought it might be quieter facing the lake, and it gave me a fabulous view of the bridge where the famous Austin bats emerge each night. The room was attractive and comfortable. I liked that the small fridge in the room containing items you have to pay for could be emptied out and filled with my own items. Room service charges were exhorbitant: $ total for a salad with seared chicken on it, and the greens were not fresh by the time I got the meal. Outside of meals provided by the conference, I didn't eat at the hotel. Service was wonderful. One weird thing is that they don't put a book in your room acquainting you with the locations of all their services (pool, spa, ice machines, etc.) When I asked about it, the desk clerk immedia...
I was expecting to be wowed at the four seasons, particularly given the price. I found the hotel to be nothing special. Everything was just ok. The staff was friendly, but then again, everyone in Austin is friendly. I could not believe they charged for wi-fi. That was really a cheap move. The spa was alright, small with not much atmosphere. The entire experience was just alright. I did feel a bit ripped off for the price. The are many hotels in the area for substantially less money with the same features. I would explore other options if I return.
Very friendly and professional hotel staff. Very timely room service. The Outdoor space on the river side of the hotel could be spruced up, but it's not bad.
I was somewhat disapointed in my stay at Four Seasons Austin. I expected it to be a wow hotel and it was just nice. Very expensive when there were lots of other good places nearby for less. the hotel charged for wi-fi, come on ! You could get it for free at coffee shops now. Cheap! Up graded to balcony room on river view side, you could only stand on balcony! No chair or table, no room for one! What was the point? Staff was friendly, everyone in Austin was friendly. room was clean, I expect that in a good hotel. Spa was okay, not very inviting, small bad view. I would not bother to stay here again. Not up to par with other Four Seasons I've been to, not worth the price.
Yes all of the above! This hotel goes above and beyond to meet your personal needs. Nope
My husband, two kids (5 years and 2 1/2 years old) and myself took a vacation to Austin, Texas for a couple of days and we decided to stay at the Four Seasons. Because there is construction going on City side of the hotel, we upgraded to a Lakeview Suite. The Lakeview suite was double the money and then some -- but we figured, Hey, we are on vacation and for that price, this has got to be luxurious. Well, I'm sorry to say that I was very disappointed with both the size and the look of the suite. It was much smaller than I anticipated and the furnishings were very basic. Just a basic pull out sofa -- no frills at all. The bathroom was very small and very plain looking. My husband and I have travelled a lot before and this room was most definitely not worth the price tag. That being said, everything else, and I mean everything, was superb. The service was incredible, everyone was polite and we were all treated like celebrities. Honestly, the staff is wonderful and made us all as comforta...
Great service and wait staff N/a
Central in austin, perfect for SXSW Nope
Excellent Austin downtown choice. Close to both University and downtown. Rooms are huge compared to European standards, which is a good thing when staying and working a longer time in same place. Highly recommended! Slightly annoying was that WLAN/internet connection was not complimentary, and actually a bit pricey.
Very comfortable beds, and the warm cookies at the front desk were a nice touch.
Rooms are extremely adequate for up to 6 people meetings. All rooms are well equipped with a kitchenette. Staff is very friendly. Prices are quite high, particularly those for breakfast.
Please write at least 15 words convenient location and priced reasonably, nice lobby bar staff and good tasting food. Check in staff. They could of been friendlier, to a Gold Hilton member. Never smiled and no greeting.
Very quaint, tons of character in both the public spaces & the rooms, friendly people.my My only, very petty complaint is that I always expect a place of this quality to provide good quality shampoos & soaps, & was disappointed by the all-in-one conditioning shampoo, which left my hair a dry, tangled mess.
I only stayed l night instead of 4 nights as it was terrible. I liked the location very much. The acoustics are so terrible that one cannot sleep due to the noise. You can literally hear someone urinating, talking loudly, etc.
Nice beds and pillows Breakfast was limited
Just how close I was to the capital and ut Nothing
Location is very convenient. Hotel was average by all accounts. Negatives were two factors. The first was the inflated price for the weekend due to the F1 championship. This was unfortunate but nothing unusual. The real complaint was the noise levels through the night. Sounded like I was at a block party until 4am with no effort by the staff to speak with the noisy guests.
Worked better than I thought that breakfast was in a room across the parking lot from the lobby. I liked being just a few steps from the Capitol building since I hadn't been inside as an adult. The location was close enough to downtown to walk (5 mins to 6th Street), but quite a bit further to go to the more adult area of 2nd Street. Staff was friendly and after my visit quickly corrected a mistake in my billing. Worked great that I had pre-paid via Kayak and had no problems getting my room immediately. Breakfast was included (hard to find) but be aware the only protein was hardboiled eggs and there was very little fruit. At least there were (make your own) waffles! The construction noise across the street was not very conducive to sleeping late on the weekend. There was a huge gap under the door where light came in and A/C went out - like a motel instead of a hotel. The parking was mandatory valet @ 12.99/day and I don't remember that being listed online (at Kayak). Of course there wasn't another close place to park so I guess it was better than $20/night like some places downtown. This place got very crowded on Labor Day weekend, so check in and check out were kind of crazy.
It was fairly clean It was noisy, but it wasn't excessive
Staff was really nice. It's in a great location. Had to switch rooms upon arrival do to blood stains on one bed and questionable white crusty spots on the other. Found massive cockroach on the floors when we got back from being out all day in the new room. both me and the misses were covered in bites upon waking up. Almost certain it was of the bed varietal.
The location is perfect. The hotel is overpriced. You are REQUIRED to use the valet parking at $14 a night. Between the time the valet took our car and we kicked it up a few hours later, a large scratch was left in one our car doors. The rooms don't have refrigerators and are quite small for the nightly cost.
central position, helpful staff pay to park, should have been added online when booking no restaurant. fair breakfast
The location is close enough to walk to downtown, but far enough away to not be disturbed by late nighters in the streets. This hotel is an $80 a night hotel at best. I was charged over $220. You are forced to use the valet parking which was an extra $14 per vehicle which I didn't realize when I booked. The room had mold in the showers and there were several hairs stuck to the wall in the bathroom/sink area. On top of everything, I was charged twice for the room after a checked my bank statement due to a mistake at the front desk. The same exact thing happened to a friend of ours staying in another room. We received no phone calls to notify us of the mistake. Will not be going back again. You're better off staying at the Super 8 down the road. Thank you very little.
I needed to leave early as I was concerned for my saftey. It appeared the mainteance man was following me to my room. I did not go directly to my room as he was entering and exiting other rooms near mine and when I went down the hall he was right behind me. Maybe this was coincedential but it gave me serious concern.
