- Good Service
- Good Room
- Good Location
- Recycling Trash (rare to find in US)
Amazing time, recommend to everyone.
Prós: The pool is really nice! The rooms were luxurious and the staff were very helpful.
Contras: It's close to the beach, but not on it. The TV's need an upgrade. It would have been nice if the pool was open later. We watched people swim from our balcony at another hotel while ours was closed.
Prós: Staff was very professional and catered to every need
Contras: View is slightly obstructed below the 17th floor but still has amazing sunsets, everything else was perfect
- Bom serviço
- Bom quarto
- Boa localização
- Reciclagem (raro de encontrar nos EUA)
Foi maravilhoso, recomendo a todos.
Contras: First of all, the bed had a sunken mattress that seemed to have been there forever. I have a disc herniation on both the neck and the back and the bed just killed me. I'm sure the previous guests had complained but a bit shocked that it wasn't replaced.....or maybe all the rooms had same sunken mattresses. For us, terrible mattress.
Secondly, the pool was way too small.
Prós: When we first pulled into the valet, I reached for my bag out of the back of the vehicle and was told, "Please let me get that. You shouldn't have to lift a finger here at the Trump." That sense of service and attention to detail defined every aspect of our stay. The facilities and service were top notch.
Prós: Private beach means it is never overcrowded. Friendly, professional staff. Dolphin Lagoon a must experience for kids. Big, comfortable room with comfortable bed, nice bath amenities. All toilets have a bidet, which is a nice surprise. Beautiful grounds and atmosphere.
Contras: Above average humidity for this time of year. We were told it was due to the El Nino from winter. Small pool (and number of chaise lounges) that can get crowded quickly. Food from the Seaside Grill and Plumeria is overpriced and okay, at best. Drinks overpriced, but tastes great.
Prós: Kahala is located close enough to the city action yet far enough away where it's remote. Though the pool area was relatively small, it was never crowed. The dolphin lagoon and sea turtle exhibit was quite amazing. Beach was also gorgeous and calm. No complaints about the Kahala. Would definitely visit again.
Contras: Wish there was good snorkeling right around there but that's asking for too much!!
Prós: The staff and growns are amazing
Contras: The dolidpin and turtle tanks, way to small for them to live
Prós: Centrally located hotel with a very popular restaurant/bar located on the ground level.
Contras: This is a very busy hotel that lacks a "real" lobby. Some people might not even notice this, but it may the stay feel odd, sort of unofficial since the only time we interacted with any staff was when we checked in.
Prós: Location, cleanliness,amenities,value
Contras: No dislikes
Prós: I love the location ...so close to everything !
Contras: The fact that the outside air con unit was just below us &!it was VERY noisy ! The fact that as a paying guest at the hotel, we couldn't book a table at dinner time in DUKES ! Also upset that there is no longer the 'all you can eat' buffet in the evenings!
Prós: Great location on the beach.
Contras: Some of the staff tried but didn't know basic things.
Elevators have a strange call system and are very slow and crowded.
Prós: Smack dab on the beach in the best part if Waikiki. Staff was super friendly. Pillows were the best.
Contras: Pool area too small.. Difficult to get a chair. Piol, hot tub closed too early. Bar so crowded difficult to get a place to sit.
Prós: The staff was amazing!!! Everyone was willing to go the extra mile to help out. The location is amazing and in the heart of Waikiki!
Contras: Wifi Connectivity is limited to 3 devices and customer support cannot change this.
The lack of a full bath tub was disappointing.
Prós: Excellent location. Nice that there is an available laundry available. Decent size rooms. Friendly staff.
Contras: Not crazy about Duke's. Mediocre food and service. Pool area is on the small side.
Prós: Comfortable, clean, and excellent location. Hotel restaurants are good and have a great view of Waikiki beach.
Contras: The gym is almost nonexistent.
Prós: Localização, limpeza, comodidades, valor
Contras: Sem atritos
Prós: The staff was wonderful and the Mai Tai bar was a great place to sit and watch the sun go down.
Rooms were very comfortable
Contras: This place is expensive, it really helps to be in the mindset that you aren't bargain hunting when you stay here.
If you are here in peak season and want to take advantage of beach chair or umbrella rentals you may want to book them before you are onsite.
Prós: My girlfriend and I agree that The Royal Hawaiian is our go-to hotel for our stay-cations. We LOVE it there. It's hard to even consider other local hotels. The staff, the facilities, the service, and the way that the hotel feels secluded even though we're in the middle of Waikiki... there's so much to love about this place. This is our second year in a row staying here, and we'll definitely be back. Mahalo to everyone there for continuing to impress us.
Contras: This space intentionally left blank. :-)
Prós: on the beach
Contras: They charge for a beach chair 45.00 daily.
very crowded at pool and pool is very small.
Prós: Have dreamed of staying at the Royal Hawaiian for many years. The vacation more-than lived up to expectations.
The adjacent mall and food court provided entertainment, shopping and reasonable meal choices.
Contras: Mid-week was peaceful and serene. By the weekend the place was filling up with lots of tourists. Can't believe how many people were in Waikiki in general.
Prós: The hotel itself is quite beautiful. Though there is a very small pool, the pool deck is very comfortable and private. There is a fabulous view of Diamond Head on the beach. It's also not a mega hotel, so the number of people wasn't too overwhelming. The delicious muffins were a very nice touch, as well as the staff attention on the pool deck. Great location.
Contras: Our room seemed small. There were too many reasons we had to call for help, including repairs to the room and keys not working. All resolved, but annoying. I don't think a hotel of this caliber should be having these kind of problems. The price tag is very steep and I wasn't convinced it was worth it.
Prós: Really good rooms and service.
Contras: The gym was not good!
Prós: Location is tops, literally the best part of Waikiki Beach fronts the hotel. Amazing history, second only to the Moana Surfrider. Very romantic, but not much stuff to do for kids.
Contras: AC in historic wing could be better. Pool is very small. Not sure why families bring kids here, they'd be much happier at one of the bigger resorts (including the Sheraton right next door).
Prós: Though we were in the heart of Waikiki, it did not feel like we were anywhere near the hustle and bustle that is the Waikiki of today. It truly felt like a getaway. Service was stellar, the staff was friendly and attentive, the setting and atmosphere can't be beat. You've spoiled us; we can never stay in another Waikiki hotel. TRH is the one for us.
Contras: Minor gripes about cleanliness. Found a charm and a bobby pin left by previous room occupants, and toilet had a few hairs and spots also from previous occupants.
Prós: Historic, iconic hotel, still the best
Prós: The beach the ambiance
Contras: Everything else
Prós: Décor of main hotel was impressive however the waterfront tower that we stayed in was less than impressive. Without the oceanview it would rank average to poor.
Contras: Pool attendant was rather rude.
Prós: Excellent location for beach access, shopping and dining.
Prós: Vive is close to Waikiki beach, restaurants, and shopping. Helpful staff. Clean and updated.
Contras: Room was very small.
Prós: The rooms are quite small, but still comfortable. It has vallet-only parking at the premises. But the effort of the staff to please and serve is really what called our attention.
Prós: Free beach towels, chairs, boogie boards to use
Contras: A bit pricey for a small room 3 blocks from the beach. Unsafe street at night
Prós: The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Contras: The air conditioning and wind noise in the room was a bit loud.
Prós: Attractive, comfortable, close while not on the beach, well-designed and efficient, continental breakfast, friendly and knowledgeable staff, no unhappy surprises. Everything functioned well. Room was remarkably quiet. Safe box, tablet, and free beach accessories (towel, mat, umbrellas, etc) were nice touches.
Contras: Room initially appeared small and basic, but actually was well designed and comfortable. No bathroom fan, but passive ventilation worked just as well. A/C quiet, but not really large enough to cool the room much. Mini-fridge nice and did (barely) keep food cold despite warning inside about avoiding perishables! No protein at continental breakfast, just breads and fruits, but copious and delicious. (We stocked up at Food Pantry a couple blocks away.)
Contras: room service was pricy and was not great only complaint 200 bucks was only worth 30
Prós: Only a block from Waikiki Beach. Nice clean hotel with friendly staff.
Contras: The swimming pool did not look very clean.
Contras: Room service was inedible, room was tiny, rude staff, further from the beach and activities than expected, overpriced, THE Smallest pool. Additionally when I asked where the pool was the concierge replied "the pool is for guests only" assuming I just wandered off the street or something. Overall just rough stay. Definitely would not recommend.
Prós: Loved the staff, very friendly. Location was conducive to getting around Waikiki, and picking up buses around town. Zip car located across the street. Great views on either side of the hotel. Free continental breakfast and internet were very nice plusses.
Contras: Gym is pretty lackluster. Not the worst I've seen, but, could have been better. Though, they did say new equipment was incoming, so, may be better now. Wifi was a little spotty in the guest rooms.
Prós: Room was clean and fresh. Liked the available beach towels and the children enjoyed the pool in the evening. one block to the beach. Friendly and helpful staff.
Contras: Resturant was ok, typical of hotel restaurants, would recommend going out for better food. Good for family in need of quick food. Breakfast pancakes are huge for one child (adult menu). Found free wifi slow, not much faster when we paid for 24 hours.....
Contras: Mac 247
Prós: Location. Great business center.
Contras: No free WiFi
Prós: Friendly staff.
Prós: Only stayed one night and spent most of our time out, as you might imagine......but the time we did spend in the hotel was great.....the staff and facilities were excellent!!! Would definitely refer you to a friend.......
Prós: Hotel is two short blocks away from Waikiki Beach. Very convenient location.
Contras: Only specific complaint was the lack of sound proofing. We were on a low floor and heard all the street noise as well as noise from surrounding rooms.
Prós: I found the hotel itself and the staff and rooms very good. Large tv and a nice little balcony and large bathroom are above average for most hotels.
Contras: Hotel I found did not match up to the exterior picture and is so very different from the other local Hilton. It is away from the beach and in a busy road traffic area away from attractions. Ocean view room is from a distance over parking lots and between buildings. In room WiFi is about $10 a day and no buffet breakfast or bathrobe.
Contras: Valet parking only. Also it just wasn't anything close to what I was expecting when I booked a four star hotel.
Contras: - based on the positive reviews and high price, I thought this would be better;
- first time to Honolulu - I thought the location would be better;
- move on - there's lots of better choices
All of it
Prós: Closeness to the beach
Contras: When we arrived to our room, the city view was a view of the parking garage, actual a parked car was about 3 feet from our window. It was NOT a city view which I booked. When we called the front desk, we were advised they were completely booked and had no rooms available elsewhere. (We looked online and it did indicate there were rooms available for the night in a better location.) We were told we would be upgraded to a partial ocean view, but not until the next night. Also, there is an additional $30 charge per night for staying at that location, we were not advised of that until we were checking in. We also had to pay an additional $47 per day for valet parking which we also were not advised of until we checked in. The rooms are run down and carpets are old. In the high traffic areas the carpet had creases in spots, enough to cause us to trip. We had a negative encounter with one of your valets, we lost the valet ticket that was on the key, when we returned, they made a big deal of it, told us that we should have kept it on the key ring. Not good customer service especially after charging $47 per day!!!.
This is a Marriott Resort and we booked it because of the name and our expectations were not even remotely met...
Marriott should evaluate this location, both the desperate need of renovation and some of the customer service. If it's not going to be renovated soon, then charging appropriate hotel/motel rates and advertise appropriately.
Prós: Nice location and only steps to beach!! Lots of activities and shops.
Contras: Bathroom was not properly cleaned on arrival. :(
Prós: I liked that it was in the center of all the action and right by the beach
Prós: Location, Bar and restaurants, hotel layout.
Contras: Parking and resort fee add over $60/day.
Prós: Terrific location, terrific service
Prós: The location is acceptable and very close to the beach. Depending on where your room is located you might be impacted by the pool activity and noise.
Contras: I didn't like the fact that you get a room rate online, but when you arrive there are extra fees (Resort Fee $30.00 a day, and if you valet park a vehicle, it is $37.00 a day). The fees are not necessarily hidden, they are just not posted on the daily rate schedule. You find out when you are checking in. I have stayed in Honolulu many times and these fees are normal for most of the hotels.
Hence, it would be better to show all of the rates and fees that are associated with your stay, so that you can make an intelligent choice in your selection of a hotel,
Prós: Close to beach and multiple shops and dining.
Contras: Rooms could use microwave
Prós: The hotel is great. It is clean with a friendly staff and located very conveniently.
Contras: My only complaint and my warning for folks booking here would be that the price is definitely not what you see. I booked my rooms on Kayak and paid in full at booking. When I got to the hotel I was told that there was a $30/ day + tax charge for staying in the hotel. To self park in the hotel parking garage is $35/day or you can valet park for $37/day. The additional $65+/day adds up quickly. Just a heads up. Otherwise the hotel was lovely.
Prós: I enjoyed checking out of this hotel and telling them how I felt about our stay
Prós: We stayed here two years ago, in an Oceanview Room in the Rainbow Tower, and now we're back and staying in an Oceanfront Room in the Ali'i tower. This is a great place, walk out of the hotel lobby and onto the sands of Waikiki Beach. The resort covers several acres, packed full of shops, restaurants, bars, everything - and then a simple stroll down the beach and you're in the main shopping area of Honolulu. The Ali'i Tower and the Rainbow Tower are similar in price, the difference though in the Ali'i Tower is that it's like a special club within the larger resort. There's a dedicated Concierge, many perks such as free water etc, a dedicated level 2 area that contains a gym, a swimming pool with deck chairs, and a bar with tables and chairs. You also get a leather wristband that they suggest you wear on the premises, and that gets you front of line access to all the Hilton owned restaurants on the property, and that's proved to be very handy. Highly recommended, and we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Honolulu.
Prós: Loved the small lagoon, kiddie pool & water slides,
Our suite was clean & spacious with amazing view.
Contras: Check in was awful-it took over 30 minutes to check in. Huge lines were forming and not really sure why since reservations were already made.
Also annoying was the fact that you were given cards to get towels- however they failed to mention that you had to return them otherwise you would have to pay a. $10 per card!!! we usually do express check out just so we don't have to deal with front desk again.
Prós: Everything was great! The beach was beautiful, 5$3 staff, facilities, location was excellent!
Contras: The pools were overwhelming, crammed with people. Also, the hot tubs always has children playing in them and were unattended, they weren't very relaxing. An "adult only" hot tub or sauna would be an added bonus! We weren't the only couple frustrated by this.
Contras: Bathroom had a sliding door and no fan. No privacy.
Prós: In a pinch because of an ice storm, we had to find a room before our reservation at the Hale Koa started. Hilton was close, so we picked this hotel. So expensive. Perk was we could walk to our hotel the next day.
Contras: Room was lack luster for a $300 room. And that's all we had really. Super busy and hard to navigate with luggage with all the people swarming around. Waste of money. Breakfast buffet is good but so expensive, and another $35 charge at check out for what? We only stayed one night, and that was one night too long.
Prós: I liked that the location is close to the water
Contras: Much needed room renovations are required in addition to better cleanliness. Parking in the hotel which is required if you have a car is way over priced and even more than the price to rent the actual car. Another resort fee is added at the end which covers items such as yoga and do not apply to everyone is applied. Fine a different hotel that would be your best bet
Prós: Alyssa was very helpful in helping us to switch our rooms and we do appreciate her very much.
Contras: We started off on the wrong foot from the moment we arrived, having to wait over and hour to check in. Yes it was the weekend of the marathon and we understand that but, for the first 45 minutes they had only 3 people checking in the regular guest and only 3 checking in the Hilton elite. After they put another 3 on each side the line moved much quicker. On top of this we had booked a king bed but when we go to the room it was 2 queens and by this time we didn't want to go back to the front desk and wait even longer. They did end up moving us for our second night, but it's still frustrating when you have to move in the middle of your trip. On top of this the beds aren't what i would expect when i'm paying $375 a night..super hard and could almost feel the spring in one of them....needless to say we won't be wasting our money next time we visit Oahu.
Prós: Fireworks show. Location on the beach. Access to 4 lovely pools. Array of shops and restaurants.
Contras: Dated rooms. Decrepit walls/paint fixtures. Missing furniture in my room? Elevators really old.
Prós: Hotel staff, bars, main pool, being right on the beach. I had requested Diamond Head view with the package I bought, and found that I wouldn't get that on arrival BUT the guy that checked us in did find one albeit on a much lower floor but still fantastic view and that made my 50th birthday very special. Drink pricing different in different bars! The resort fee baffles me, no idea what that is actually for. Staff were great and the Pronto Pickle was a life saver after a very full day of sightseeing and touring! Great staff in there too, and we could take hot food to the room with a couple of drinks from the ABC! :o) sitting on the balcony watching the sun go down. Nothing better.
Contras: Check in seems an incredibly slow process and there's little point to the 2 lines for HH members. However, the staff do not let you leave the check in without ensuring you have every bit of information you could want. All very patient staff. Pricey hotel, resort fees, and parking fees, and beer! However, the cost of cocktails were a welcome surprise! The pools are all in the shade by 5pm, which is such a shame.
Prós: Staff were absolutely wonderful. We even had a bellman refuse a tip and a staff member on break offer to help us. Magnificent and gorgeous property in the heart of everything. This is a very large property with several buildings and can get crowded. It is rather easy to get lost also. Attentive staff and service more than makes up for that.
Contras: It is a large property with several buildings so it can sometimes feel like a factory. It is also easy to get lost. However top-notch staff make the difference. We did have a misunderstanding about what kind of breakfast we got for a prepaid fee and where it was located. We were told we should get a full breakfast. Vouchers said continental breakfast in one building - staff told us to go to a different restaurant (mistake). Again, staff made everything ok.
Prós: Wonderful relaxing atmosphere! Nice walking path along the beach, good variety of restaurants, beautiful views & grounds, staff was very nice
Contras: Main pool is dated, looks 1970s, MAIN COMPLAINT: NO Room Service. What major hotel resort has no room service? I was disappointed. food is pricey. Go to a market & get waters, fruit snacks etc. & save $
Prós: Loved it was walking distance to a lot of things. Liked the resort feel. Romantic and family beach. Nice walks on waterfront.
Contras: So crowded it's hard to get around in car.. Person kept knocking on the wall when we would have tv on past ten( I didn't feel it was up very high since no one could talk and hear tv at same time). Very expensive hotel. But again, you must pay to be on waterfront. Sand was odd on resort by water like it was poured to make a actual beach there.
Contras: I was really bummed that on the day we checked out, we couldn't use the pool at all. Didn't get to spend a lot of time there, because check in the day before was not until 3pm.
Prós: Adults only Pool. Beautiful room. Great Bar service at pool.
Contras: drunk lady from Chicago in Pool.
Prós: We stayed in an ocean view room. The view from our room and the pool was lovely. Great room service. Soft linen. Nice tv. Room is just ok for the price.
Contras: Infinity pool for adults only. Internet connectivity in and out.
Prós: - Interior design and grounds right on the beach
- Adults-only pool
- Friendly, professional service
- Great hotel entrance
- High speed elevators
- Rooms were clean and good, but not luxurious
Contras: - Resort charge of $31/day seemed steep for wi-fi usage
- Breakfast buffet of $28/person was overpriced for the quality
Prós: Overall very gd!! Infinity pool was perfect!
Contras: Our room card was not working eventhougn we have not rven checked out. So we wasted our time wating security and got new card etc..
Prós: Even though it was only 1 night. It was amazing! I've stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki before and each time it just keeps getting better and better.
Prós: View, location, pools, spa options
Contras: The line to check in/out was very long.
Prós: The adults only infinity pool. Amazing!!!! 10/10
The location 10/10
This is my second time staying here after visiting 2 years ago with a friend. The most trip with my fiancè. The price seems expansive however I can assure you it's definitely worth it. The pool and location best in Waikiki. We had a standard city view room. And the room was a decent size with all standard features. The location and adults only pool, make this the best hotel I've stayed at.
They also have a great kids pool if traveling with a family, with slides.
Contras: Loved everything.
Prós: Piscina somente para adultos. Belo quarto. Excelente serviço de bar na piscina.
Contras: Senhora bêbado de Chicago em Pool.
Prós: Ficamos em um quarto com vista para o mar. A vista do nosso quarto e a piscina eram ótimas. Excelente serviço de quarto. Lençol macio. Boa TV. Quarto é apenas bom pelo preço.
Contras: Piscina de borda infinita apenas para adultos. Conectividade com a Internet oscilando
Prós: Apesar de ter sido apenas 1 noite, foi incrível! Eu me hospedei no Sheraton Waikiki antes e ele fica cada vez melhor.
Prós: The air units from other building were roaring loud. Could NOT hear the ocean at night, day, anytime .lNo hotel shuttle. Nice rooms, little itchy. Excellent friendly staff.
Prós: It had free breakfast.
Contras: The hallway leading up to the room smells.
Prós: The hotel is nice. Not much for restaurant/bar/pool but the complimentary breakfast was good and the location to the beach was good. I highly recommend using valet service...spend the $ and avoid the hassle of parking off-site.
Prós: Hotel was closer to the Waikiki beach.
Staff were friendly.
House keeping was good.
Contras: Rooms are cramped.
There is mo space to move about freely in the room or to keep your bags and open them comfortably.
Prós: Enjoyed 5 days at this hotel. The location is the best you can get in Waikiki. It's central to some of the best shopping I've ever seen in the world.
Contras: Still new from a remodel. So some things need tweaking.
Contras: Mean front desk manager.
Contras: We checked in and went to our room. It was hot and the air conditioning was almost useless. The window coverings were missing slats and the hot sun poured in. The building is ancient and the bathroom was disgusting. We were with another couple, whose room was even worse. We checked out an hour later, managing through local friends to find other accommodations. Yeah it's cheap (by Honolulu standards) but not somewhere you would want to stay.
Prós: Location was great
Contras: The air condition didn't work at first. Weird smell in the room. Some lamps didn't work. Ancient TV. The discount code for the internet didn't work. We had to look for parking by ourselves. The beds were tiny!
Prós: I enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel! With the splendid room and quiet location, the hotel was as enjoyable as the destination!
Prós: The location is awesome, close to the beach, close to shops, entertainment etc.
Prós: Customer Service and plenty of amenities for kids. We stayed at Kalia tower and it was very pleasant to go in and out.
Contras: No floating tubes allowed in the pool.
Lagoon tower elevators were under renovation. Very slow to access elevators. We took stairs to the 12 th floor as it was quicker.
Prós: Location was great. Close to everything.
Contras: Valet parking was slow. I paid for it , but could have self parked faster. The Valet scanner to call for your vehicle never worked and only seemed like one valet working at any given time. Calling down to preorder valet service did not work either.
Beautiful grounds. It's huge! Pools are awesome but always full of people.
Prós: The room space and the fact it had a kitchen.Staff was friendly. Grounds were clean and beautiful. Walking distance to shopping and Waikiki.
Contras: Construction next door, noisy. Remodel of one elevator made it a horrible wait each time you needed one!
Contras: Front desk staff were unorganized and rude. Room we bioked was not ready and wecwere given the run around
Prós: The location and the view was good.
Contras: no cork screw in the room; you need to go to front desk to get you wine opened and Starbucks closed super early.
Prós: Many type of restaurant, pool and shop.
Contras: If possible, more smoking space would be appreciated.
Prós: The Accommodation
Contras: Knowing we had five in the room there was not any blankets or sheets for the extra bed
Prós: Good facilities, affordable, very friendly, nice people
Contras: Conversations late at night by window, poor quality curtains with outside lights leave room lightly light all night. Staff on in past was exceptional but last time had poorer English comprehension and was confused at what was said. They have a shoes off policy inside but I found it not quite clean enough floors to be comfortable on feet.
Prós: Staff were excellent. Students from university also providing staff support. Small herb garden which you can use in your cooking. Clean and well managed. Not noisy and range of ages from 18-60 staying. Good central location for exploring island, particularly if you have a car. inexpensive but good food nearby in restaurant/cafe or from local supermarkets. If you want a hostel right on the beach then this is not for you, but as a calm place to use as a base to see Oahu it is great.

Prós: I liked the location. It's right next to the mcdonalds if you're hungry for a cheap meal, especially if you don't want to spend $35 for the breakfast buffet that they offer at the hotel. But if you get a free deal for the breakfast buffet if you book through Expedia or a third party website , it's definitely worth it. There's a parking garage connected to the hotel but it'll cost you $25/night. It's also super close to the Hyatt and international market. And the beach is 1 min walk. You just have to cross a stoplight. Diamond Head and the zoo are close too. I would uber to diamond Head if it's later in the day cuz parking can go fast. But the zoo is walkable.
Contras: There's a hidden resort fee that you pay $20 a night for. But my question was, where's the resort? The clerk was like, "this is the resort." But he wasn't clear that the "resort fee" included beach towels and beach chairs. There's a LOT of construction going on. It doesn't bother me so much, but it might bother you. There's no pool, but the hotel does have access to the Hilton's pool next door. But I was just swimming at the beach the whole time. All the "resort" amenities are basically under construction/refurbishment- like the aquarium with restaurant and tennis courts. So the only thing was I was paying a resort fee when the stuff for the resort aren't even available. I feel like they should have just waived the resort fee.
Prós: I LOVE the new renovations they are doing here. I really enjoyed my stay and will be back for sure. Comfortable beds, great showers, beautiful views. Friendly staff ! It was wonderful.
Contras: The 35$ breakfast cost. It was a surprise to me to pay that much for breakfast.
Prós: The updated room was very nice. We stayed on the 37th floor and we had a fabulous view of Diamond Head and the beach. The beach is literally right in front of the hotel. The location is great. It is within walking distance of everything you need. This hotel is a great value for the price. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.
Contras: The lobby needs to be updated. It was clean but the decor looked like it was from the 80's. They need to update it like the rooms. The elevators were a bit of a hassle. There were 4 of them and one was not working. The ones that were working seemed to have a mind of their own at times.
Contras: I booked this room for my elderly parents for their first vacation in Hawaii. Paid for a partial ocean view room, and got only a slice of ocean. They were given the worst room possible in that category. AC unit outside room was extremely loud which made their sleep miserable.
I feel sorry for them and regret booking this hotel.
But the damage was done.
Prós: When you go to Wikipedia and look up Waikiki, there is a picture of THIS hotel! If you book an Ocean-front room on a higher floor in the Eastern-most tower, you'll have the classic view most can only dream of from your balcony or even inside the room. Besides the obvious beach across the street, within a few blocks walk, you'll find dozens of restaurants and high-end shops, as well as the Honolulu bus transit line. Timely response to the only need we presented was commendable. Wifi worked well, also.
Contras: Room service neglected to replace the coffee pod on one of the days the room was cleaned. We didn't notice until the following morning when it was time to make coffee. When visiting the fitness room, one of the two elliptical trainers had a broken display. This made it impossible to use in any mode other than manual.
Prós: Location! Great view and clean
Contras: Outdated decor is easily overlooked for a clean low priced room
Prós: Everything! Especially the Beach/Waterfront! It was walking distance from the hotel and EVEYTHING else...Love it. I booked this trip as a father's day present for my husband and to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary...loved everything!
Contras: No much....
Prós: Love every second of my stay. The staff was very accommodating. Whether you're a visitor from another state or country, they treated every guest equally. And we were visiting from another island. My favorite was the huge Aquarium and the swimming Mermaid.
Prós: It was so close to the beech and shops
Contras: For the money not a nice hotel room. I would not consider it a 3 star hotel, more like a 2.
Prós: The view was amazing.
Prós: I liked the location of the hotel and the area around it.
Contras: There was a lot of people staying whhich even though it had multiple elevators it took a long time to get from floor 1 to 31.
Prós: We met up with Collins, whom we have known for a decade. He always takes good care of us!!
Contras: The parking arrangements.
Prós: If you are meeting for business around the area it's ok.
Contras: Unclean surroundings including hallways, elevators and surrounding area. Lobby is not well lighted, escalators were not all working, front desk clerks are lukewarm and unfriendly, parking is confusing, unsafe hallways as there was a big electric fan that was running and some contrstruction equipment right In front of the room we stayed in that was there the entire day without any sign, warning or precaution. Carpets have that musty and spoiled smell. I
Prós: Right in downtown area. Puts the traveler right into everyday Honolulu.Comfortable and clean with a "killer" view of Honolulu harbor.
Contras: Clearly an older, but well maintained property
Prós: Perfect location for the St. Pattys block party in downtown Honolulu
Contras: Parking is $20 a night
Prós: The room was spacious and very clean. It was quiet, which I s surprising, since it is downtown. Staff was polite, efficient and knowledgeable. Also got free parking!
Contras: The decor is a bit dated, and the building doesn't have balconies. It is on the expensive side. While it was a decent room, I wouldn't have paid the normal 214 a night rate.
Prós: Comfortable, clean room with wifi, kitchenette, nice large tv and good cable. Very helpful staff, whirlpool tub, and I can't say enough about how well I slept on the bed it was more comfortable than my own. This hotel is close to som small restaurants mostly Asian and very good. The area around seems safe and I did not have any problems while out late for a walk but there are quite a few homeless around.
Contras: The Internet could be a bit faster, I had some streaming issues but no other problems or gripes.
Prós: Banheira de hidromassagem e piscina
Prós: Nós nos encontramos com Collins, quem temos conhecido por uma década. Ele sempre cuida bem de nós !!
Prós: The location was great and easy to get around.
Contras: Not a lot of food options for children at a reasonable price.
Prós: I have gold status on SPG. I booked via KAYAK and I got a big surprise when checking in: not only my status was not recognized but I got no SPG points for my stay! Terrible! I'll never book an SPG (or Marriott etc) via KAYAK! This was NOT specified at time of booking
I may have saved $15 per night but not worth it!
As per the hotel, great location, nice ocean view, but the side looking toward Diamond Head is noisy due to the air conditioning tower of the adjoining building. Yes, very noisy during the night.
Contras: Bathtub didn't drain well. Water would accumulate very fast. Taking a shower was a gross experience.
Hand towels had stains on them.
Prós: The open plan of the lobby was gorgeous. The pool area was very nice and relaxed, and the beach is only a short walk away from the hotel.
Contras: Staff was great but hotel itself was very aged and poorly maintained. Shower were terrible. Rooms in need of dire upgrades. Based on price was disappointed in quality
Contras: The rooms felt more like a motel than a hotel. The only area that is decent is the lobby & the gym.
Prós: The staff was very friendly; rooms were conveniently located; good food and cocktails. Parking was easy.
Contras: The false fire alarm.
Prós: Excellent location just across from the beach. Next door to new international marketplace. To be open this spring. Lei making staff was on the original Hawaii Five-o. Some rooms can be a little noisy. Try to stay on front or side. Partial ocean view is worth it if you get the one that overlooks the pool which also has nightly Hawaiian entertainment. History of the hotel is also a plus.
Prós: Overall the service was good.
Contras: Like most rooms in Hawaii, the hotel needs to be updated.
Prós: Nothing at all
Prós: the location of the hotel is perfect! Centered in the heart of Waikiki, everything was within walking distance. There is a hotel resort fee, but is nice that it covered the parking fee. justin was our check in agent and his service was superb, easy to talk to and very informative.
Contras: Hotel is slightly dated, a new paint job would make it look nice, better air circulation would be good. Elevators are slightly small and run slow. Elevators in the parking garage are only located on the very top floor. Makes it a small hike to get your luggage to the elevator.
Prós: Not on beach but very central.
Contras: Rooms and beds need updating.
