Our stay at the Alpenhotel Fischer was very relaxing and confortable. The staff are very friendly and extremly helpful nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel itself is very well maintained, our room was very confortable, clean and the furniture and bathroom fixtures looked new. The food at this hotel is very good and reasonably priced. The breakfast selection is fanatastic, there was something for everyone. The spa and fitness facilities are very good. I had a massage there during my stay and the treatments and staff were excellant. Overall i cannot rate this hotel any higher. We have returned home relaxed, well fed and totally mesmerised by the town and surrounding areas of Berchtesgaden. The only small thing that i did not like was that the swimming pool was not heated.
The hotel is very comfortable, friendly staff, excellent food and very good spa and swimming pool facilities
Lovely little hotel a short walk from the Bahnhof. Perfect spa experience for a solo traveler. Staff were extremely friendly and always helpful. The hotel's decor was a very pretty modern alpine design. The spa and pool were very nice. My room had a lovely balcony looking out onto the hillside. I thoroughly enjoyed this hotel and plan to return.
The views were really nice from the balcony and the hotel looks also very nice from exterior and good interior too... It was too hot in the room, hotel is not air conditioned and we had to ask for a fan which was not very comfortable and noisy
Very pleasant staff. The lounge with the fireplace is charming, as is the dining room. It is tucked in behind a gas station, but it is not a big issue.
The bus cards allowed us to travel all around the are without having to think about transportation. Staff was focused on making us comfortable. We travel a lot and this hotel was one of the very best we have stayed in. Nothing
The hotel was well appointed. The room was large and very clean. The view from the balcony was lovely. The staff was less than expected of this class hotel. With the exception of the clerk Marcus, who was on duty when we arrived on Sunday. He was extremely helpful and answered all our questions as we checked in. The rest of the staff was indifferent and cool. On 2 occasions while I was talking to the desk personnel I was told, "one moment please", while they talked to another guest and answered their questions. If your non german speaking I would not recommend this hotel, if you are, I would recommend it.
Friendly staff water in the swimming pool was quite cold
Good location for us: across from the train and bus station and close to the Konigsee. Friendly and helpful staff and a good breakfast included in the price. Good parking and a good view from our room.
perfect location right across from the train station, good sized room and incredibly comfy bed and pillows. It was a charming room and hotel, the breakfast was good too! one of the staff members was rude, the old man at the front desk is a total jerk. We forgot our backpack and key in the restaurant and he basically ignored us, we had to wait for another person to see us and let us in the building.
Location is wonderful, free parking and great breakfast included. charged for wi-fi, no kleenex.
the hotel has no elevator and no staff to help us with the luggage. The staff and the owner were not friendly and helpful at all. They were not willing to answer questions (travel information) at all. Very bad impression.
We were quite surprised to see that our hotel was located just steps away from the train station and visitors center in Berchestgaden and with free parking it was very convenient and made it easy to drive up the hills to the center of the business district. Our balcony overlooked the river yet was very private. Nice breakfast in the dining room was included. I booked a quad room but we actually were given two seperate rooms for the same price - both had French doors to a balcony! Very nice. If you stay here be sure to check in before 5PM as the front dest staff leaves about that time. Access to the pool and spa is rather limited and requires climbing long flights of stairs. And be sure to locate the light switched in the hallway so you can turn on the lights when you leave your room. Conservation of energy is of prime concern all over Europe and takes some getting used to for Americans.
Very well situated, in the center of the town. Excellent to make trips in the neiberhood.
We liked the place we stayed. Unfortunately the lift we used in the night stopped when we were inside, probably because the light is automatically switching off in the public areas in the night. To do something with the lift.
Staff was mostly friendly, hotel was small and cowzy, size of the room was comfortable, clean, anonymous with a personal touch.
being able to walk down to the city and have dinner and then enjoy a walk in the countryside afterwards
the view from balcony of mountains
Simple guesthouse not that far from Berchtesgaden bahnhof/busbahnhof.Rather big room with balcony and private shower/toilet.Breakfast with cereal , cut ham/cheese and boiled egg.All guests are provided with Guestcard with which enable you to get free rides on any buses around Berchtesgaden. No shampoo nor soap provided .No elevator so be prepared to haul your luggage up & down the stairs.
Wonderful hotel & fantastic value. Friendly staff and good buffet breakfast. My single room was very clean and bed was comfy. Only 10 minute walk up to the beautiful old town with it's shops, restaurants and bars. I had a fab meal at Chinese restaurant Heng Heng. Their is a short cut walk to the old town between the train station and post office that the owner will tell you about. This hotel is excellent value. No wifi/internet access. No tea/cofee making facilities. Owner 'rented' me a kettle for 2 Euro a night. Difficult to see when dark even though my sat Nav took me to the exact spot! A lit up hotel sign by the road is required. If driving from town train station will be on right. Then drive exactly 200 metres and on the right you will see a 1 metre high white reflective X sign warning of the presence of train tracks. This is the exact spot where you turn into hotel just across the tracks which are still in use. Coming from the west the hotel will be 200 metres before the train station on the left. Again look for the X sign and turn in. So, one could say X marks the spot!
Friendly staff, clean & homely feel No soaps were given out, Brechtesgaden card which is normally given out to all tourists was missed out as well - I wonder why?
The hotel is located on the edge of Berchtesgaden town. A train track runs right in front of the hotel (between the road and the hotel itself), but the trains are not too frequent and did not disturb us.
Friendly staff. A personal welcome by the proprietor on arrival. Cleanliness of establishment throughout. It is a small, attractive family-run guest house in lower Berchtesgaden on main road. Excellent value.
Nice and clea room with all necessary facilites, very helpful and sweet family staff, close to the central station and the town The only way to reach the hotel is crossing a road without traffic lights in front of the hotel, which I think is a bit dangerous.
Affordable guesthouse within easy reach of mountains and lake.
Close to the train station. Affordable. Very clean. Quiet. Friendly staff. We liked that you can buy water, drinks, beer using the honour system.
I like location of the Gastehaus Achental, place for parking, easy access from highway Salzburg-Munich, but on the first place very friendly staff none
nice place, near train station and easy to go to the lake, nice breakfast and room a little bit difficult to find, and it will be good if it has an elevator
The breakfast room was bright and lovely, and a very nice breakfast was available. There was a nice view from one of the rooms, too. The rooms were poorly appointed, and one of our rooms (we had two) had what appeared to be a tablecloth in use as a bedspread. The lighting was dim to the point of nauseating when we arrived at night, but the light of day made the rooms much less objectionable. One room had no blow dryer, and the evening attendant said he could not access the supply room for another one until the morning. When we first arrived, neither of our two rooms had working televisions, though the same evening attendant was able to get one of them working. Of course we did not go there to watch T.V., but hoped to catch a weather report. There was also construction taking place at the hotel, and it began very loudly around 7 am.
located in the peacful and beautiful town. not so far from the train station and it easy to go to different tourist attractions. The hotel also offer you a discount card which you can used to take the city bus for free and got a discount for the ticket for different view point.
Outstanding breakfast with killer scenic views of Berchtesgaden & German Alps. Great older hotel with character & charm.
Friendly efficient staff / manager [Hans!]Guest Bus-Pass a bonus
One of only a few possibilities in Berchtesgaden walking distance to the town centre. No bar.
nice staff, nice room
We had a nice room, the bathroom was clean, the beds were OK. Breakfast was good. We arrived later in the evening and the door buzzer at the front and the back did not work to let us in. Finally one of the desk persons came down to open the door, but looked put-out to have to do so. There was Wifi, but no computer we could use. Directions to the hotel were poor.
The location is great. The room was very clean. The breakfast was very good. None.
Excellent location, nice affable owner. Understaffed, poorly decorated and uncomfortable bed and pillows.
Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The location was great for touring the city and the area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a terrific time in spite of one day's heavy rain.
