Contras: Interior a little dated.
Prós: 1. Good Onsen 2. Good Views 3. Good Food
Contras: No comment all I like
Prós: The staff are friendly and trying to provide good service. The music player in the room is pretty funny -- it plays different USEN channels and really odd stuff. The old man at the ramen restaurant is really sweet.
Contras: There was soiled toilet paper on the floor of the onsen bathroom. It's kind of far from the town center, and meant to be accessed by car, so if you're on foot, it's an awkward experience. I accidentally booked a western style room. It was really dated and the bed was uncomfortable. I had a view of the air conditioner and paid about $240 for this whole experience. They don't allow tattoos in the onsen, but you can pay 2000 yen to use a private onsen. The onsite ramen restaurant is expensive and pretty mediocre.

Contras: The room was large but could do better with a little more touch-up here and there. Overall, it is still a cozy room.
Prós: convenience and cosy
Contras: the onsen water
Prós: The location was great. All the main attractions were either within walking distance or the bus stop was just out the front. The outside of the hotel looked s little daunting as it is older however inside is great. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to help and guide us as there were not a lot of English signs or guidance around.
Contras: There is an excess charge of 100 yen per person per day as bath tax that wasn't in the booking cost
Prós: Staff was knowledgeable about the area and nice.
Contras: Facilities are very old, property is extremely run down, room smells musky, location is not near the main stairway attractions.
Prós: Affordable stay for budget traveller in this onsen town. English levels are varied but staff are polite and helped whenever travel assistance requested. Room and bedding were comfortable and clean. Daily service. Breakfast very good, generous rice serving. Not modern interior, facilities, but didn’t matter. Onsen was clean and sunrise views. Bus stop very close and 15min walk to town centre.
Contras: Minor: Wifi is only in lobby as stated.
Prós: Very good breakfast! Everyone was kind and accommodating.
Contras: This is an old hotel that is past its prime. The paint was peeling off the walls and the shoji doors were stained brown. The bathroom smelled bad despite running the fan constantly. The onsen was disappointing and the floor was super slippery.
Prós: Our breakfasts and the lovely young woman that brought it in each morning
Contras: The piped music in the hallway
Prós: The staff were very friendly.
Contras: The facility is very much run-down and needs a major renovation. The futon is a few inch thick sponge over hard tatami and I felt much pain after a few hours of sleep.

Prós: Services were very supurb. Staffs were very nice and friendly. Hotel and room were very clean.
Prós: Fantastic personnel and service!!! Great location close to the stairs of Ikaho.
Prós: The outside onsen were amazing! Clean and relaxing. You have a choice of inside or outside onsen. Breakfast and dinner were traditional Japanese food and also amazing. Dinner was about $40 per person which was good for what you got but not sustainable for a 3 night stay. There are limited other places to eat but there is a ramen place close by that is very good. Staff were friendly and spoke a range of English. Some spoke very good English. The hotel was clean and warm and the staff couldn’t do enough to help you.
Contras: No laundry service and no place to do our own washing other than walking down a very steep hill to the coin laundry.
Prós: Extremely friendly staff, very good experience. Also very good for what you're paying.
Contras: Onsen is small compared to other hotels (that charge more), but still nice with the rooftop view. However you have to wash in the first floor and then go to the 8th, which is a bit annoying.
Prós: extremely friendly staff, wonderful location right beside the bus terminal and ishidengai, great onsen
Contras: portion of meal could be larger
Prós: OMG! Nagamigokoro-no-Yado Omori was amazing. The service from the staff blew me away from check-in to check out. Ikaho Onsen was a nice place to spend a few restful days.
Prós: Great location and views from the rooftop baths. Friendly staff, comfy (but dated) amenities. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and seasonal. Bathing facilities were excellent. Overall a very comfortable stay.

Prós: The room was very clean and spacious. We got a room with a private onsen which made the room that much better. The kaiseki dinners were delicious and visually stunning, just come with an appetite since it's alot of food. They probably don't get a ton of English speaking guests since there was only a couple of people on staff with serviceable English skills, definitely better than our Japanese, but you shouldn't be going to a different country to a somewhat out of the way place and expect there to be expert English speakers. It was more than made for with the staff professionalism and kindness.
Prós: The food, the service, the location. Everything was amazing! Very traditional style Ryokan with very nice onsen baths.
Contras: No real complaints! However, it would be a difficult place if you didn't speak Japanese.
Prós: the food
Prós: Location is next to the stone walk, a popular tour place.
Prós: Nice staff and service. Room elegantly appointed and clean. Unforgettable experience here.
Prós: Very friendly staff. Nice rooms and great views if you pick one of the top floor rooms with a private onsen. Lovely kaiseki food and breakfast.
Contras: Not sure if they have any non-smoking rooms as the one we got had clearly been smoked in for many years and the smell was quite noticeable. Unfortunate but not a deal breaker.
Prós: Everything is so good and like the decor to the max! The lady owner is always in the hotel and greet us with smiles
Prós: Everything, from the ambience to the staff & the meals. Everything was perfect

Prós: Hotel staff are very nice and helpful. Location is good for you to get to Ikaho Stone Steps and Ikaho Shrine on foot.
Contras: Hotel in general is a bit worn out. The outdoor onsen I guess is something new or recently renovated and has a nice view. However, the surprising thing is there is only a pool but no showering facilities.
Prós: The rooms were large, clean & in great condition. The views were wonderful! The staff were so helpful, and the onsen was perfect. We will definitely stay here again! Best part is: you can bring your dog too! We saw one checking out & are excited to bring ours with us next time.
Contras: Nothing, it was perfect
Prós: Great location, situated in a beautiful part of town. We went for the Onsen experience. Yukatas were selected for each member of the family. Lovely attention to each family members needs as we took lots of pics in these well chosen robes. Breakfast was great quality Japanese traditional food. Would recommend book dinner at the Onsen or plan where you will eat. We were late for Onsen meal and options were few. Hungry family eventually fed.
Contras: We miss the outdoor bath, it was under renovation. Reason for choosing this place because of the Travel Japan hour described about the outdoor onsen.
Prós: The view and location Great service and nice food and friendly
