Clean, modern, spacious room with two queen beds. Nice updated bathroom. Located in an area of town with plenty of choices for eating out.
Great view from our room. The room was supposed to be non-smoking, but it stunk like cigarettes. The water pressure was terrible; it took forever to take a shower. The staff were mostly decent, but there were a couple of jerks with bad attitudes and poor customer service. I have family in Santa Maria, and I visit often, but the next time I visit, I will stay at the airport Radisson because it is far better by every measure.
Very nice old hotel. People are friendly & helpful, and hotel has many services. Building is almost 100 years old, and very well maintained. Excellent place to relax.
Only complaint: We were told by the front desk staff that there was a complimentary continental breakfast when in fact there was a limited breakfast buffet that cost $20 for adults and $14 for children.
Restaurant was good, hosts were nice, heated pool was great on a cold night. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. It was directly on the airstrip at the airport so it was very noisy particularly in the early morning.
The staff was courteous and helpful. The room service was quick. The chair in the room was not safe at all. It was an older office chair. My wife and daughter almost fell from it. Secondly, there was no microwave which is marginal acceptable. Lastly, there was no mat for the bathtub while taking a shower. The tub was so slippery that anyone can fall easily in the shower.
Slept like a baby...normally it takes me a day or 2 to get used to a hotel bed...this one I slept so well each night, I'd come back just for the bed! Check-in...Room wasn't ready when we arrived early...staff switched rooms immediately when asked. Check-out...paid thru hotels.com and was then charged on credit card at check-out...when I realized I called and after front desk did a little research they refunded the check-out charge promptly. Breakfast was much better than expected too! Surrounding neighborhood was a little rundown
Everything. Big room. Nicest towels yet at this priced motel. Great breakfast. Good internet. The whole package was great. It was all good.
Need to update rooms. Rooms are very small
Convenient location and overall The climate control wasn't that good--it was always running too hot for my choice and when I ran the fan, it became too cold!
I like the bathroom set up with both vanity and shower/toilet together in one spot rather than separate from each other. The size and comfort of the bed was very nice as well
We have had guests stay here twice because it is so close to our home and twice they have been broken into. We felt bad so we had to pay the deductibles for both of them. $500 a pop. I asked the hotel for help with the second one and even talked to the owner and all they would do was point me to the sign that said 'we are not responsible for the parking lot' stuff. They barely even apologized. Nice hotel, but unfortunately we couldn't recommend it.
Breakfast & cleaness Wifi connection instruction
clean and neat and quiet we could not find the entrance street. I thought maybe the street light was out

check in personnel really nice and polite, Room help nice and considerate. no coffee machine, no dresser, no place to keep toiletries, no clock or radio, no listings for Tv, water leak in wall in bathroom, bathroom door would not close, outside really dirty, Bed really uncomfortable was not happy with experience at all. .
Nothing The towels where old the room was dirty and the shower curtains had stains on them and the internet sucked really bad!!!! Probably will never stay there again
It was right next to a freeway, but we heard no traffic noise in our room. The motel had a nice laundry room, 2 well stocked vending machines with fair pricing and 2 big ice machines. No in room microwave or way to make hot tea water. No refrigerator! Towels were thin.
The room was very clean The bed was 2 hard we couldn't sleep good
Located close to Highway 101! No!
Have someplace to shower and sleep. Too much activity at night. Kind of scary...people argued outside, very loud.

It was close to the 101 and grocery store in Santa Maria. Laundry room near and the pool was clean and nice. 15 min drive to Pismo Beach. Cigarette burn on blanket with red nail polish stained. Sheets were rough and pillows were flat and stale. Bed was very uncomfortable.
Everything. Dirty bathroom with a bandaid in the shower, disgusting room, horrible service. Never stay here.
The price wasn't awful, and it was right off the 101, which was nice. Managed to be fairly quiet despite being so close to the freeway, and the continental breakfast was pretty good - there's an I-HOP literally attached if you want something more involved. We stayed in a room with a king and the bed gave me massive back issues. The pillows on the bed were uncomfortable and rather then getting normal sized pillows, we got like 8 throw pillows that were miserable to sleep on. What kind of hotel doesn't have normal sized pillows? How is this even a thing? The curtains to the outside were ripped and the "blackout" curtain behind that was torn to pieces. They had tried to fix it with gaff tape, but it still let in a ton of light. You can tell that the facilities here have been majorly neglected. The room was clean, but I still felt icky laying in the sheets that night. I wish I had shelled out another 50 bucks so I could have at least gotten a good night's sleep.
The staff bent over backwards to be helpful and pleasant.
Clean Room was a little small
Staff , Size of tv
The room are very clean, I liked it. It's very accessible, close to restaurants and the freeway a big plus for me. First time traveling with my 6 month old and it was a good stay. It was a little pricey, but there were many events in the area. The back parking lot looks really bad, it has holes and a little dark.
The place is clean and the front desk staff is friendly. It is close to Vons and places to eat. Also, I like the fact that the 101 freeway is just down the street. The breakfast is ok. It is limited, but my husband and I are grateful to have something to eat in the morning before we went on our trip to the Winchester Mystery House. I noticed that the door does not have property weather stripping, which allows the air to come through the front door. Other than that, it is a nice place to stay if you are on a short vacation or business trip.
We only slept overnight on our way to San Luis Obispo
The hotel was close to the freeway for easy access but not so close that the guests would have to put up with the noise. The room was a good size and though there were some minor repairs nearby it stopped at a reasonable hour so overall the stay was quiet. The room should have been aired out to give a fresh clean smell.
Close to the freeway Older building
The location and the pool It's outdated and the carpet looks unclean. The second day they did not clean the shower. Expensive for what it is.
The hotel was in a perfect location and was pretty comfortable. Decent breakfast too I felt. I really was dissapointed that there was no little shampoo or conditioner or any amenities in the room. Most places like this at least have that and some even have a blow dryer in the room.
It was quiet, clean, convenient, and very affordable. I was sad that the hot tub was not working.
It was convenient for visiting a friend that lives in the Central Coast area Yes! We had a bad experience with this hotel. When finishing a shower my friend was unable to turn off the water, the shower would not stop, we tried for 15 minutes to try to turn it off, we called the front desk stating that our shower was messed up and would like to get another room. The front desk proceded to send up someone to try for an additional 15-20 minutes to shut off the water, no such luck. We then had to wait another 20 minutes and 2 phone calls to the front desk to finally get someone to tell us that we could come down and get a key to another room, we then had to pack up all our stuff and move. After complaining to the front desk we still were not offered one of our nights free or even a discount. I wont stay there again!
Full size pillows!!!!
The hotel was convenient and clean The breakfast wasn't too good
Being honest to the best of my ability, there was slim 2 nothing that I can say that I actually like about this over priced dump. However, I do feel silly in saying that I am so much of a closed minded individual that I could not manage to pull up at least one thing that I did infact like about the establishment out of my thought, so I will say that I enjiyed the fact that if nothing else the place stands true to it's name: The Rose Garden Inn because the do have a beautiful variety of rose bushes that appear to be well maintenanced, therefore displayin, (In my opinion), a lovely little rose garden in full bloom at the entrance of the establishment...A+ First & foremost, I got the impression immediately upon entering & not being greeted by either of the 2 absolutely un~occupied staff that they were not excited about the fabulous price that I had reserved the room for thriugh Kayak. Then, they asked if I'd prefer smoking or non~smoking & I replyed smoking because why? I smoke. At that point, (Of course, in some foreign language), employee #1 states a few word to employee #2 who is doing my check~in. Suddenly they have no availiable smoking rooms with only 1 bed. I let them know that I was fine with a non~smoking room & I promised I'd go outside to smoke. Next problem...Apparently my credit card was declined (ALLEDGEDLY), & seeing as to how I had spoken with customer care at the card company only moments before entering tbe establishment, I was quite surprised to hear that the card was declined. Before I could even ask if they would try once more to run my card, employee #2 was sending ALL of my paperwork including the reservation through the paper shredder & all but threw my card & CDL at me. I do not drive & had taken a taxi along w/my over night bags to the establishment from the transit center, so I went outside & immediatly called Customer Care at my Financial Institution. The agent advised me that everything was fine in thier computer & that there weren't any blocks, holds or anything else pending that may prevent the establishment from billing. I go back in & ask if they can try once more. Employee #1, whom appears highly aggitated with my request informs me that my reservstion had been cancelled because my card was a "BAD" card. He still however, agrees to try to run my card ONLY once more & if my card is still no good I must leave the front of the establishment w/my luggage. Of course, still my card was declined. At this point, its a very hot day, I've been traveling, I'm tired, not to mention I'm starting to get pissed so I ask how much would the room be if I were to pay with cash. Employee #1 states (ver batim), "It will be much, much more." All I want to know is HOW MUCH? He blurts out some number that sounded fairly random & in total was nearly $30 more than the Kayak price. Seeing as to how I hadn't expected this, I had no cash & had to walk (with my luggage) in un~familiar surroundings n search of an ATM, at which I used the same credit card that had been declined to pull out money. Upon my return, employee #1 is not anywhere in sight & employee # 2 isacting oblivious to the fact that I would be back to get the room & pay with cash. She finally agrees to rent me the room but gives me a price $13 more than employee # 1 had quoted me. As she hands me the key she states to me that the room is a SMOKING room because that is all they have left...I THOUGHT THAT THEY HAD NO SMOKING ROOMS AVAILIABLE when I first arrived & started this check in process, (which btw, is now nearly an hour later)....What a headache!! Glad to finally be headed into my room...OR AM I??!!!!! Absolutely rediculous.
The close proximity to a conference that I was attending
was not easy to find. very old.bad maintenance
Nice motel: clean, good location and very expensive. A nice place to stay if you want to go to Sta. Maria Vineyards!
The location was great. Close to everything. The bed was uncomfortable. Chairs had stains on them. Could use some updating.
Nothing I asked for a non smoking room. Tried to give me a smoking room. Said they had HBO, but our room didn't have it.
the rate was inexpensive the bed was uncomfortable. many transient people walking around.
It is close to the bus routes along Broadway in Santa Maria. The room had an air conditioning/heater that you regulate.
Next to a very nice Mexican restaurant. The room was not clean, there were crums on the table, the user soap of the visitor before us was still there and the Wi-Fi didn't work proper.
The double-queen bed rooms I got are huge. It was the dirtiest rooms I had ever been staying. The towels are disgusting (half of them were dirt-colored, and I found a long curly hair on my face after using one that looked decent). There was a thick layer of dust on furniture.
nothing, it was disgusting. filthy, hair in the bedding and shower.
The location was good to what I needed it for. The motel was not clean, smelled of smoke and there were splatters of what looked like blood on the wall. It was very noisy.
