the friendliness of the staff which is not unusual for Mexico.the location of the hotel which was out of Punta Cancun. the quality of the overall hotel-construction is very poor. The specific Americans who were shouting so loud at 3-5am almost every night. The smell in the bathroom (moisture)
Very clean. High standard hotel. All the extras are expensive. People there try to be definitly too cool just to show their money.
Everything except weather... no
Reception floor was very nice with friendly staff. Pool area was even better than expected. Breakfast was excellent, so were bars and restaurants, too. Our room at 9th floor was slightly worn-out and not as clean as what we would have hoped for. Air-conditioning controls were not working properly (AC quite ok, though). The paintings and sculptures found in our room were a bit questionable, we'd find it better to put effort on some more relevant things. The staff at spa/gym a bit on the arrogant side, be sure to wear tennis shoes for gym..!
The rooms are very nice ............new modern. The staff were not at all helpfull.................very expensive and not at all good value.
Lindo deck do restaurante junto à praia!
A localização é excelente.
Merecem reforma.
Gostei do plano all inclusive.
Do visual do mar.
All inclusive, good variety of food. Best choice for families with kids. On the right side of hotel is very noisy electricity station. No minibar in the rooms
Only the beach the rooms are not clean, the kids club is from 18 months and they did not mention that on the website or on the phone, the food is served mostly cold because of the big amounts of the client the only good food was at the morning in the buffet, the sushi was terrible the fish looked really old, the swimming pools were looking really dirty especially the pool bar swimming pool, we had had an upgrade to the suite but the suite wasn't clean the bathroom was really dirty the shower was full with blue mold
It's a great all inclusive resort for the whole family, they have activities for everyone. The food is far from great, in all the restaurants is like generic and standard, and the Japanese restaurant is the worst i've ever had.
The resort is beautiful, the staff is fantastic, especially Hector at the front desk, the room is comfortable, AC is great! Gorgeous beach view! Nothing
breakfast was worth the money. dinner was a bit pricey for Mexico, but good. Location was excellent. receptionist was a bit slow. Wave was a bit rough to enjoy the warm water.
The concierge was very helpful with providing information for our visit and the staff service was excellent.
very close to the airport one of the 1st stops from the airport It is really far from the party zone, had to pay $20 taxi each trip from the hotel to the party zone.
We went to cancun for a wedding that was being held at another resort, but we couldn't stay for their 3 day minimum, so we decided to stay at the Westin, and couldn't have been happier! First, we got a great deal on kayak on a non-all inclusive package (because we were going to attend events at the wedding and some of our meals were covered). That being said, the food we did pay for was not all that outrages (ranging from $15-$30/meal per person). In addition, they had a few really great buffets that were around $25/person, and well worth it. Having attended a wedding at a more luxurious resort, we also had the opportunity to compare the two. (One of the wedding guests got food poisoning at the other resort, so we were glad that we didn't stay there). Also, the beach at the Westin was prettier and cleaner! They also had two additional pools, and plenty of rooms to stretch out. In addition, you can book all of your tours from the resort (we did parasailing), but you could do much more! The gym was adequate as well--there were 5 treadmills, a few ellipticals, some exercise bikes, and some weights) There was internet in the lobby that was free, but in order for you to get internet in your rooms there was a charge for $25. The gift shop was really expensive.
Cancun is beautiful and the resort is on a great stretch of beach. Pools, facilities, fitness center were very nice. The concierge was great and gave us a perfect restaurant recommendation off property. Bell staff was very good. The food and drink service was awful!!! We were completely ignored at times and had orders for food and beverage completely forgotten. 8 of us sat one evening at the Mexican restaurant on campus for 30 min before we even were given menus, and when they finally delivered them, we were given 4 menus. We laughed as it was just so indicative of the 5 days. The fact that the place is really semi all inclusive seems very petty (some menu items and drinks are extra) Felt as if we were nickled and dimed for everything. First all inclusive we swore we'd not come back to. Very disappointing. Pretty place, hope you're not hungry or thirsty
I particularly appreciated the excellent English of the front desk staff. Internet should be free.
They upgraded us to an Ambassador suite. Best sleep of our entire vacation. Loved the beach and the pool. We reveled in the torrential thunder and lightning while enjoying our rack of lamb, pizza and martinis at the BBQ restaurant under the palapa. Service was great too. Nice view from both balconies in our room.
If you aren't into the party scene, this hotel is located well away from the main "strip" in Cancun. The food is excellent and the menus offer multiple healthy options. The hotel is also very environmentally friendly. Staff is the friendliest we've encountered. They all work very hard but still take the time to be pleasant. A little inconsistent about which restaurants will be open on any given night
The beach The buffet The public areas Poor quality and cleanliness of room Construction across the hall which started at 9am and filled the hallway with dust.
Good food affordable price portions are enough to share. Rooms very clean and spaces ocean view is great. We will be back to this hotel. Wifi is not free.
I took my daughter to Cancun to celebrate her 18th birthday. We stayed at the Royal Beach Club with an ocean view room and balcony. We were given the requested upgrade free of charge. Extremely kind and helpful staff! Clean, simple rooms Comfy beds Gorgeous ocean view from our room. Right next to the hotel is some of the best snorkeling in the area. You can rent gear, or buy it from WalMart for the same price and go on your own. David, who waited on us down by the beach heard it was my daughter's birthday and surprised us on the beach with a cake! Quiet, away from tourist madness. Nothing fun to do around the hotel after sunset. Charge for wifi (lobby it is free) Pool closed at 8p.m. No hot tub. No heated pool so no one swims after sunset. Brrrr! No free transportation provided by hotel. Breakfast buffet at Royal Beach Club was very expensive.
Seleção fraca no cardápio.
A comida é saborosa e bem apresentável.
A localização e as instalações.
I got descriminated
I loved staying here. All the staff that worked there were so friendly and nice. They knew our name by the second night. We felt important. The rooms were always clean & housekeeping was always keeping the room looking good and even came back at night to make sure we needed anymore towels or glasses. The waitstaff & bell boys were amazing. Anything we needed they got us it was amazing. I've never stayed in a place that catered to all our wants and needs in a very professional manner.
overall ambiance, friendly staff, great location. None
The view and size of the room was very nice. The service. Also some policies were not shared with me that became an issue. Didn't feel the warm welcome and quality of service I felt at other places I have stayed in that area. Overall disappointed.
Service was really good
An amazing resort to relax and enjoy the beach, swim in the sea or the many swimming pools.
Close to a shopping mall. Walkable to a tourist shopping mall The food is ok but it takes way too long. sometimes it takes more than 40 mins of wait after ordering.
Liked/Loved: -Friendly Staff. Always willing to help. Always a friendly hello and smile. Sure, on occasion, there was a communication gap because I was in a foreign country and did not speak the local language. The staff was more than patient with me. Thank you! -Accommodation: Awesome! we stayed in the single studio with the kitchenette. Just perfect to eat in if needed (Grills on site). Downtown was "Mega", Walmart, Costco, etc to get groceries. Just south was a grocery store called Soriana in Kulkukan Mall. Great restaurants within walking distance. Great food within the resort. You can find everything you are looking for within walking distance of the resort. La Isla shopping right across the street. Bus stops right in front of the resort. Everyone says to ask for the higher levels. We stayed on the second floor and took the stairs...nice to not have to wait for elevators. -Resort: Activities for all ages. You find your people...playing volleyball, kids club, sports lounge, by the pool, or down on the beach. -International: We met people from all over the word staying at this resort (Russia, England, Paraguay, Spain, Qatar, Canada, USA) Disliked: It's Cancun! What is there not to like _______ ? (if you fill in the blank, don't go). Okay, I did not like the ugly drunk Americans.
Every room is clean I like size of the bedrooms nice view the pool area Two different main entrance having to walk a lot layout of the hotel
awesome room and pools. the beach was the best not enough authenticity
The same staff year after year. So friendly and gorgeous beach and pool! Location is great and love having washer and dryer in the room. We have already booked our return! Loved it all!
My sister and I travelled here. We had a great time!! Staff were nice, clean, and overall a great experience! 24 room service was a perk we really liked! And our room was ocean view, really nice. Good was decent. Wish they had more resturants to choose from
Staff stood out the most as tolerant helpful and nice. Loads of food and drink. All was fine but if you want to be in heart of cancun hotel nightlife then you are 10 minute plus drive away. Food was fine but obviously if you are in a more luxurious place the cuisine is of a different caliber.
Some of the staff and the location were good I wasn't expecting high quality food, having been to a number of all inclusive resorts in the past. However, a large percentage of the items served here were bad. I don't mean they were not prepared well, rather they were at very stages of spoiled. Worst was the breakfast meat served for room service, which reeked when sliced into and was many days expired. We quickly got in the habit of first taking a small sample before consuming anything. This combined with indifference by the staff, particularly at the front desk, should cause you pause if you are considering staying at this location. Also, do not believe that your package includes everything described. WiFi is not included, and ocean view may require you to stand on a chair to see over the wall. Kayak should drop this location or appropriately update the descriptions to reflect reality.
Not great. Just ok. You won't get the best service or food, but you also won't get sick. Great views of the Caribbean from ocean front rooms.
A variety of foods were offered. The Marco Polo restaurant was excellent. We loved our server Señor Felix (feliciano) who went above and beyond to provide us excellent meal experiences at Marco Polo!!! He was always attentive. The wifi service was poor. While other hotels picked up on the beach the wifi at this hotel didn't even pick up in the rooms. It was a bit pricey for very spotty service.
My favorite thing about this place was the staff. Everyone spoke English, even the room attendants, so communication was very easy. I did not encounter a single rude person. The wait staff rotated from restaurant to restaurant as the day progressed, so you really got to know the staff. The pools were great... one was really warm, one was just right, and of course the ocean was only a few steps away if you wanted to really cool off. The wait staff came down to the beach to take orders, too, which was probably the best part! The food was mostly good... lots of buffet fare, lots of selection. The reservations-only restaurant, Marco Polos, was very nice. The asian night was my favorite, the french night was not that great (except for the cheese). While there were always options for food, the windows for certain things to be open were relatively small. For example, if you wanted a sandwich, the place didn't open until 4:00.
Overall our experience at the GR Solaris Cancun was good. The food was good limited from a restaurant perspective. The entertainment was fun, but not great. From talking with others, you can tell the staff has done an amazing job of making this a place people want to come back to time and time again. The patrons and staff, young and old, were friendly and made for an overall enjoyable experience. The biggest issue this this hotel was the poor internet service. You pay $37USD per device for 3 days and we had issues staying connected to it anywhere but in the lobby. When we complained, the manager told us there wasn't anything they could do but complain to the company. The food options were extremely limited, but the food they had was ok. The minibar in the rooms was also very limited. There were just a few beers, a few sodas and 3-4 bottles of water. More options or bars that were open later would have been helpful. The location on the beach was also not as nice as other places I've been. The water was very rough and the beach wasn't as nice as other locations I've been to in Cancun.
Had a wonderful time at GR Solaris. There was always plenty to do, eat, and drink. The staff was wonderful! We were upgraded at check-in from a regular room to a beautiful Ocean-front with jacuzzi. I have no complaints about anything from the weekend! I would definitely go back!
The only thing i liked aboud grand oasis was the beach view and the huge pool inside oasis. I didnt like the poor customer service the cleanliness was poor also i was out of water in the whole facility for about 8 hours and it was very bad. Overall i wouldnt go back again to this resort
Not everything is included, some things are not available when requested included similar meals. There are some staff not to friendly, others are better.
I left with a regretful choice on a hotel, I feel like my money was wasted I had to wait 5 goes in line to be checked in, the ac was not working it was so hot in the hotel, they told us they over booked and has no rooms for us, then they magically found a room and it was dirty the mini fridge was empty for days
Not much... 5th time in Cancun and other than the beach this place doesn't have much to offer. Rooms are OK... sink leaked, shower didn't function properly, food was way less than expected, bar service was almost nonexistent. No name brand liquor as they promise ... hell, not even Bacardi in most bars. The food, the service, the liquor selection, the inconsistencies of the whole outfit. Almost 3 hours to get a meal at 2 seperate sit down restaurants. Long lines at the buffets and a poor selection of foods. I am pretty easy to please... but this place is literally the Motel 6 of Cancun. Some great people working. I do not wish to disparage them, but there is a massive resort wide lack of training and organization. Definitely wouldn't recommend going here.
The air conditioning does not work, the service was extremely poor and slow, they try to lie to you and tell you that they don't have any other accommodations and they're coming to help you but they never do.
liked the beach front and view from room and live shows in pyramid was booked for all inclusive package through kayak to have access to full hotel amenities including a double bed room within the pyramid. When arrived was informed by reception that we did not have full access to all hotels all inclusive package/bracelets as hotel changed policy a month after booking. We were given a king bed instead of a double as booked in another part of the hotel, which was not in the main pyramid which was called grad oasis when we booked. It was now called the pyramid which was the full access location and more exclusive to guest. Hotel gave us an upgrade of bracelet for food only but did not accommodate the room and said there was no guarantee for double beds as part of our reservation. ??? They offered to put us in another of there hotel chains which is not what we wanted as we booked the grand oasis, now known as the pyramid. Reception was not very accommodating. When calling for guest services no one answered calls. The hotel room was not picked up by housekeeping on one of the nights of our stay or linens changed as requested. The bed was stripped of original linens, including a pillow case and was just left with the bottom bed cover and a blanket the was in the closet. Pools where a mess with spring breakers, there was broken glass near our room and blood on a wall and no one had come to clean it all day until I called several times to report it and some one finally came out to clean the glass but blood was still noticeable on the wall. Too many drunk out of control people out for spring break. Nudity, people having sex in public and life behavior on hotel beds , chair throwing and complete disruption to other hotel guest there to enjoy a relaxing stay at hotel. There were families with small children there that could not used the full access to pools and facilities due to all the mess and drunken disruption by party goers. This was my third stay at this hotel and the worst experience I've ever had while on vacation. It had been fully all inclusive before and quite comfortable and lovely. I went with a friend who had never been to cancun and I highly recommended this hotel for her first time there. If I had know it would be like this this time of year or in general not being kept up by staff or under control by personal, I would never had booked. The only positive thing I will say is that the hotels spa service and staff where incredible, polite, accommodating and professional. 5 stars to them but overall going from 4-5 star previous experiences at this hotel, I will not recommend this hotel to anyone any more and will not return.
The food variety was decent. Not enough meat! The Bar always open was nice, the location, pool & beach are good. The staff is slow at resolving things. Took forever to check in, there is a language barrier because not everyone speaks good English. The rooms are in desperate need of updating. No luxury here.
The check in process was horrible Travel agency did not send guest information to resort It took 3 hrs to check in
