Freindly, helpful staff. No language problem at all. The hotel itself is beautiful well-restored and decorated historic building in a nice part of towm. I had a rental car and found parking on the street. Butthere really aren't any parking facilities connected with the hotel.
The hotel has been built inside an old house , so it has a lot of charm and it is beatifully decorated. Staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. The restaurant is overpriced and the food is not as good as expected, salads with dressings without any flavour. Arequipa is very dry, so hotel should install some humedifiers in the rooms, the 4 of us suffer with extrteme drynes. I think it is overpriced.
-clean, spacious room, with many facilities, including both shower and bathtub; -good breakfast; -free working wi-fi; -kind staff; -beautiful public terrace with city views; -perfect and quiet location for visiting the city on foot; -no parking available, not as advertised on booking.com; I had to find myself a paid public one; -even if I booked the executive suite, which was the only interesting historical room in the hotel, I was forced to accept a "complimentary upgrade" to a superior suite, which, although a little larger, was just another boring business room; of course they finnaly admitted that the historical room was overbooked and already taken upon my arrival;
It was like staying with a family. The courtyard was like an oasis away from the bustle of Araquipa. It was nicely situated away from the centre of town. having to leave!
My favorite thing about this hotel are the people. They are great. Very helpful and approachable. It is run by a family so you always feel as though they care. The rooms are clean. The beds are comfortable. There was always hot water. Breakfast was included and was really good. As a solo woman traveler I'm pretty picky about where I stay and I would at Posada Nueva España again in a second. The location wasn't as central as some, but it wasn't a long walk to the Plaza de Armas and this place was worth the minor inconvenience. At night I took a taxi which cost about $2 each way. The hotel wrote out the name and number of a taxi service they worked with and I just had the restaurant call for pick-up when I was done eating. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes and the driver was always able to find the hotel without difficulty.
The hotel is quite beautiful and is well-designed to enjoy clean and sunny weather of Arequipa. I stayed in a clean and neat room. The best thing in this hotel is people's kindness. Including staffs, the owner from Holand treats you as a friend. The breakfast that we had fresh coffee brewed by the owner made our day happy.
