Great service, location, beds and showers!
Smallish room, but it was quiet, clean and comfy.
close to everything the breakfast
My friends and I stayed at the Avenue Inn after driving through Big Sur. We arrived after 10 pm and were greeted by Saul, who showed us to our room and gave some excellent dinner recommendations for late at night. The room was in great condition (newly renovated) and very comfortable for 4 adults to sleep in. Saul helped us in the morning by providing additional towels and helped with checkout as well. Overall we were very happy! Nothing - 100% would stay here again.
Access to walking to all areas downtown. Easy access in parking. Quiet.
Exceptional spa service by Melissa and an overall state of mind that is total relaxation. Absolutely loved it. Nothing to dislike
Nothing worth mentioning. Almost non existence service, rude staffs other than the couple at the registration counter. The room has no curtains or shades, except stained glass window. The lights are so bright outside, making it impossible to sleep at night! The heater in the room is extremely loud. The place is so poorly insulated and drafty, that you don't have any choice but to turn it on in winter. This place is a over priced motel coated in pink.
There are li me 200+ rooms to stay in and each one has a different theme to them! The foods is great and the overall feel of this place is comfort! The staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was a little burnt but that is the first time eating breakfast there...I just hope it was a fluke!
Unique character , nice location, friendly staff.. Having Mount Madonna so close by to be able to hike or jog up in the morning was great. Also very nice pool area. Restaurant and café very good. All in all a good value. A little dated
A equipe extremamente prestativa
Banheiros limpos, excelente equipe!
Clean, comfortable, very conveniently located. Courteous and helpful staff. Nothing comes to mind.
Location is everything - easy walking distance to downtown. Close to downtown, but it is a hike.
The room was very nice and very clean. Our room had a sink and mirror in the bathroom as well as outside - makes it easier getting ready. Our room was right next to the parking lot - woke up at 7am to someones car alarm going off. It was very loud despite a wall barrier.
Os funcionários foram extremamente simpáticos e atenciosos. A piscina estava vazia e em condições precárias.
Bom preço. Rápida caminhada até o centro da cidade. Cadeiras e mesas muito sujas e manchadas. Recusei-me a utilizar as cadeiras e mesa da cozinha. As cadeiras deveriam ser jogadas fora e substituídas.
quarto bem equipado pouco espaço para o café da manhã
Through Kayak the Appke Farm rooms are in the Trellis Court (vs "main" hotel), so there were less amenities in the rooms... that said, the rooms were head-and-shoulders above any other hotel we've ever stayed at. Love this hotel, the restaurant & shop.
Convenient to highway, not far from airport. restaurant on premises although too pricey for what it had to offer, wine by glass very limited selection and not good! See above
Starting with the friendly staff we enjoyed every aspect of our stay. We had a comfortable room and the location was perfect (right between town and Cal Poly campus). No complaints.
I liked the look and layout of the Inn. The hotel and rooms were beautifully decorated. The beds were comfortable and the complimentary items were a nice touch. Most of the staff members were friendly and polite, too! Now and then, some of the staff members did not acknowledge the customers.
First off, cookies daily-enough said! Clean rooms with charming atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Ate at the restaurant for breakfast, food was very good. Boysenberry preserves tasted delicious atop their pecan raisin scone. Suggest giving it a try. Complimentary transportation from airport or train station was very helpful considering the price surge x 5 from Uber. Hotel was in a great location near town. Highly recommend!
The rooms were beautifully decorated. .. felt very at home . Super quiet and relaxing. Waffles and eggs cooked to order for breakfast with bananas in top was so good .
Location and price were great for the area. Breakfast was better than average continental option Breakfast was only served 730-930.. Traveling for business, so breakfast at 6 or 7 is much better.
Walk around downtown. Well designed rooms.
Food, rooms, staff, balcony Nothing
The room was comfortable, well laid out, and immaculate. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown and close to the University where I had meetings. I ate dinner at the Bistro and the food was fabulous. Our server was amazing and described the dishes perfectly. Delicious meal!! Overall the hotel is beautiful. I do plan to return. Please know that the front desk staff is kind and friendly. However, while escorted to my room no one offered to assist me with my bags. I wasn't aware there was no lift and would have to negotiate stairways. My room was up a flight of stairs and with back problems carrying my heavy suitcase can be tricky. It's a bit embarrassing for me to ask for help with what may seem a not too heavy bag for most people. I had to pause and ask for help. Would have been a nice gesture for the front desk to ask if I needed assistance with my bags. Small detail but an important one for future guests.
Close to center of downtown & Thursday night farmers market. Within walking distance of train station. Friendly, helpful staff, good-sized rooms. Personal preference is for less antique ambience, more drawers, bigger closet space and shower only (vs tub/shower combos).
Location: right downtown, steps away from restaurants, shopping, coffee shops, bars, and the Farmer's Market. Convenient parking in city garage a block away. Very accommodating staff eager to meet dietary (gluten free) needs and to recommend local restaurants and sites to see. Breakfast cooked to order with fresh fruit was a real treat. Large rooms with private baths. Property is going dog free which will be a treat for guests with allergies. Location was amazingly quiet considering how many bars a just a block or two away. Property is showing its age a bit. Carpets on grand staircase leading up to second level need to be replaced; table runner on stand in hallway had hole in it; sinks in the old wash stands are funky and nice but not terribly functional and should be upgraded. AC unit had a hard time keeping room cool during 90+ days. Rooms overlooking Garden Street can be noisy early morning as street sweepers and garbage trucks make their rounds.
There was a mistake with our reservation and they were very unhelpful in trying to help. The person in front of us even had the same mistake with their reservation and they were unwilling to do anything to try to resolve the situation. On top of a horrible check in experience, we checked into our room and had a giant bug in the room. They were helpful in letting us change rooms after we told them about the bug.
After I left my wallet behind, staff contacted me to let me know and then were very accommodating in making arrangements to have it sent to me.
Easily accessible from the freeway, clean sheets, and towels. It was the small details that could be better. The bathroom needs some repairs done. Shower was not working properly and water kept dripping from the bathtub faucet.
It's located adjacent to a Denny's and iHop and other restaurants are a stones throw away. The bed was very hard and the floor carpet looked dingy.
Actually a nice place to stay for the price you pay. Internet. Kept going in and out. Had to be right by lobby to get a constant connection.
I was really impressed with everything. The Staff were helpful in every way.
This is one of the worst hotels I've stayed in over many years. At max, I'd pay $59 a night as it is basically a roof over your head. We paid $189 due to it being Cal Poly move-in weekend but you can't charge that amount for the hotel it is. It hasn't been renovated for over 10 years I'm guessing by the look of the rooms.
The housekeeper was using our bathroom when we got into our room...so weird. Also, there was not fitted sheet on the bed. That seems really gross to me.
My stay here was very comfortable. It was clean, the staff was hospitable & it was in a great location. The price was very reasonable also. I would definitely stay here again.
wifi not working. 3 lights not working. dirty towels. shower drain blocked.
Found a used " Q-tip" on floor next to the bed. Other than that our stay was good
My room was clean and staff were friendly. The mattress in the room sagged in the middle, the wifi was very weak, and there were homeless people hanging out by the dumpsters.
Nothing - didn't stay!
For this price, it was great! It was relatively quiet and clean. We enjoyed spending time in the hot tub one night. The sheets were incredibly comfortable the first two nights (they put on less-comfortable ones the third night, but they were still fine). The breakfast was good - the usual pastries, toast, cereal, juice, yogurt, but they also had eggs, sausage, bacon, and make-your-own blueberry or regular waffles. It's close enough to downtown that you can walk, which is especially nice for Farmers' on Thursday nights when you don't want to deal with parking. Our door was really hard to open, like it was slightly too big for the frame. But it was more a funny thing than something bad.
Nice rooms, great service, and great complimentary breakfast! The pool and spa were very relaxing!
Clean, nice staff, good area Way overpriced
We were able to make a reservation through Kayak when most other hotels were already booked for the 4th of July. Pretty much one of the most disappointing stays we've ever experienced. The room smelled musty, the room was super overpriced due to the holiday, the staff was unpleasant, continental breakfast was not included, the room was small and had an awkward setup. This hotel was unlike my past Marriott stays at other locations.
Room was good, bar open till 10pm, has everything one needs for a nice stay while in town for other events. Busy weekend so the price was steep.
Booked a night here at the last minute. My partner and I were looking for a respite after camping in the desert. The room was clean and updated. The bed was pretty comfortable even without the comparison to camping. We had a balcony with a view of the pool. The staff was friendly, but definitely seemed a bit inexperienced. This is a minor flaw because checking in only was extended a few minutes because the concierge had never processed a reservation via a third party.
The breakfast option - food was good, and menu selection has a lot of options. The cooler to control the room temperature. While it was nice to have the thermostat to control the air, I was very difficult to make the room temperature comfortable. One degree lower in temperature made the room freezing, while one degree higher made the room hot and stuffy.
Our stay was amazing! Great breakfast which included an omelette station was included in our rate. Our room was extremely spacious and we were greeted with bottled water at check in. Staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Stacy and team even provided a mini snack basket in honor of my husband's birthday. After finding out that we were extremely sore from an ATV trip, they allowed us to soak in the hot tub after hours. The restaurant staff even went as far as to provide us with free winery passes. Again, our stay was perfect!! We are already planning our trip back to this location.
The fireplace was nice and cozy Doesn't work in the rain.Tv was very poor.Bathroom was tiny.

Living room and bedroom each with a tv which helps when you have kids. Breakfast is made hot to order. Loved the hotel. Parking was a tad tight.
The resort-like amenities
From the moment we arrived we knew that we had booked the best hotel for the price in town. We drove by 9 other SLO hotels and Quality Suites was quality.

The room was big, the breakfast was substantial. But the construction was disturbing the peace and quiet of guests. My husband called and complained and they did not stop any construction until past 11:00 am. By that time, we were so fed up & left. They were renovating the hotel. The noise at 9:00 am was very, very, very AWFUL! It was bordering on the ridiculous. I would not have paid $-- for this freaking room.
Quiet, friendly staff, nice room cooked to order, as long as it is on the menu...
The breakfast was great.
The size and layout of the room was perfect. Having coffee available at any time was wonderful. The free breakfast and the cantina were great ways to start and end a day! No!
The room set up was a little strange as the bathroom sink was in the bedroom, so if you were brushing your teeth, whomever was in bed would be staring right at you. but, the room was clean and spacious. The staff was welcoming and eager to serve.
The great customer service! No.
I thought it was a great value, the room was very clean and in a good location. I would highly recommend and stay again! Old fashion key lock
This inn is very well kept and the staff was very courteous and attentive to our needs. The structure is older but there were obvious upgrades to keep the place in good condition as well as to help conserve resources and energy. All linens were fresh and good quality. The bed, although in good condition was a little too firm for my taste.
Staff was helpful and bed was comfortable. Nice and quiet location, easy to get to and not too far from downtown. There were some spiders hanging out in the bathroom when I got there. Didn't see any in the main room thankfully.
