Very clean, nice room, great location Fire alarm went off, girls soccer team staying near us was very loud and rude, yelling in hallway past quiet hours, the door to our room did not close all the way.
Good location downtown, nice staff. Pool was under construction for renovations, and we had really been eagerly awaiting this part of the trip with two little kids. No continental breakfast - only their restaurant with overpriced and far underperforming food.
Rooms were nice and clean. I was on club level and the ice machine and people walking around were very loud. Did not feel private. Guy at the desk was very non customer service oriented. As I found with most people at that desk. Valet guy was very nice. Pay decent money you expect a little more courtesy. I do not expect to stay there again.
The Port Inn in Portsmouth, NH is a well kept, clean place to stay. Convenient to the highway and to downtown Portsmouth with a very welcoming and friendly staff.
The manager Steven went well above and beyond the service of any other hotel experience I've had and I travel quite frequently for work. I will certainly be back again. The breakfast is a great bonus!
They were so good to our dog. We would stay there again
We really liked the hotel. It was a convenient location, right off 95 on our way home from Maine. Clean, comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. There was only ONE thing that bothered me and had we stayed more than one night would have driven me absolutely crazy: the floor above us. Our room was located on the bottem level of the hotel, room 125. The room directly above us has the creakiest floors which left me wide awake listening to the people above getting ready in the morning. Not a problem if they got up later or I was a deep sleeper, but the floor boards started their symphony at 5:30 am, far too early for my vacation.
We loved everything about this place! When we drove up I thought we were going into a motel from the 50's, which wasn't a good thing in my opinion - I didn't have fond memories of those rooms. However, when we opened our door we loved the room! It was just like a boutique hotel room - it was really nice. The staff was awesome! I probably wouldn't like walking to the office/breakfast room in the cold months, but in May it was perfect.
Great staff, great room accommodations, good location with easy access to major highways, downtown, and beach. We would stay here again on our next trip to Portsmouth. A great value for the price and a knowledgeable staff. Nothing.
As camas eram confortáveis
Perto de tudo, incluindo as melhores loja de bebidas de Nova Hampshire bem do outro lado da rua. O ar condicionado era bom e frio. O café era muito bom de manhã. Queria que a cama fosse queen.
I enjoyed the stay, plan to come back.
Hotel staff was great - very helpful. The room was great for our family.
Quiet setting among the trees. Free internet. Nice hot breakfast, at least on Sunday. The towels in the pool area were tiny and as rough as 60 grit sandpaper. The towels in the room were a little softer (200 grit) but still small. Not something you can change now, but design would be better if bathroom were accessible without having to go through the bedroom.
It was a very quiet location but very close to downtown. The rooms were clean and large. The breakfast was very good. The breakfast area was too small for the amount of people there at the time. The one woman cleaning the area could not keep up with getting the tables clean and restocking the food.
The room was spacious and clean and the staff was very friendly. Good solid value. Nothing to really complain about.
Breakfast staff had difficulty keeping up with demand. Items ran out throughout our brief visit. They made every effort when it was brought to their attention, but we had to bring things to their attention quite a bit. (The coffee is out. The fruit has run out. The waffle mix is empty. There is no syrup. The decaf is out. There is still no fruit. There are no bowls. The regular coffee is out again…)
It is a good place where sleeping if you're driving to another city and you have to stop for the night
Clean, quiet odor of smoke (there was no non-smoker room available )
respectful staff. when we arrived we could tell the hotel was not top notch. While checking in I was informed that they had no rooms left with an ac in them or a fan. I was offered a 20% discount upon check though i was not pleased as i had made the reservation well ahead of time. We got our things and headed to our room, when we got in we checked things out to find that there was what appeared to be feces on the sheet of one of the beds. Between not having ac and the feces it was the last straw for my fiance. We called around to fine another hotel and i asked to be creditied back. The receptionist had no issue with giving my money back and was respectful about it. We were able to book a hotel about the same distance from hapton where we would be going for the next couple days for $15 more a night in a MUCH nicer hotel in andover ma area.
Location is near the beach The Room had a smell when you Walked in. No hair dryer in the room. No information on were to eat.
The location was good When we got to the hotel they had one floor with no A/C and only had smoking rooms left otherwise. We are both allergic to cigarette smoke and had a hot, humid, miserable night.
Clean, Convenient. Wished there was shampoo and conditioner.
No coffee! really. Onkly one perk and they were out!
The staff was excellent and very helpful.
I tried two room and they were both very dirty, and decided to leave. The front deal staff was very nice about it. Wouldn't reccemond anyone stay here
Inexpensive. Good location near Portsmouth and NH beaches. Water was hot and good water pressure in shower. Lobby smelled bad. Internet access cost extra. TV had HBO, but no ESPN, CNN, Fox News, etc. Only provided 2 small towels. Mattresses soft & uncomfortable. Room wasn't made up until 5:00pm
Close to turnpike and stores. Not enough staff. I waited 7 minutes to check in. When I had to check out there was nobody at the desk at all, just a sign saying the clerk was away assisting a customer. I was going to be late to my meeting so I just left my room key and called later to check out over the phone. 4 floors, over 30 rooms per floor, and only ONE ELEVATOR. You will be waiting a long time to get on the elevator. only one ice machine, and it's on the first floor. No fridge in room. No microwave in room. Microwave is on first floor. If all you need is a bed to sleep in, then this would be fine. But if all you needed was a bed to sleep in, you wouldn't pay as much as they charge for a room. Over-priced for what you get.
The terrible staff
Great location within walking distance! We came as a staycation to go out with friends we haven't seen in a long time! We had three different interactions with the staff, and all three were very disappointing. We had drinks with friends (who were also hotel guests) and asked for extra glasses, which came an hour later, and the staff member who dropped them off just had a terrible attitude. It was obvious he was unhappy about it. Came back from dinner and drinks to a very rude third shift member who told us we had a noise complaint and grilled us about who was staying in the room. We hadn't been in the room since 7pm, so I don't know how that was even possible. Then we were given a late checkout till 12:30pm and were getting ready when a very rude house keeper can to the door at 11am and told us we should have left already. We explained and she scowled and stormed off! Needless to say we will not be back.
The breakfast was great, staff was very nice, the room size was just right for us. Great location to downtown and parking garage since parking is off site. Will definitely choose this hotel again. Nothing
Beautiful restoration of historic building converted with fully modern conveniences. Comfortably furnished and located within walking distance of downtown Portsmouth. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The public bathrooms need better signage.
Place is perfect!!! Great staff. Location is key. Easy walk to all of portsmouth. Yet a bit of rural feel to it. I will 110% stay again.
I checked in for one night, but I was so impressed with my room and the location to downtown that I extended my stay an additional two nights. I am looking forward to coming back!
Rooms are very tiny, was able to hear neighbors walking - talking. Not worth for the money spent.
quaint yet modern rooms, comfortable bedding and quiet place to rest no bar
When the shuttle was on its regular schedule & not ferrying wedding guests who had missed their ride -- it was a nice service to downtown. Room smelled like cats, AC was musty & dank. Outrageous price for a room with absolutely no amenities. Are q-tips really too much to ask?
The staff and service were both excellent. The free shuttle to downtown Portsmouth makes it a great location.
Pool and hot tub. I wish there were more selections on room service menu. Also a couple of lights in room were broken and clock was wrong time.
Awful stay. Our room flooded. Water gushing from ceilings at 630 am
The hotel was in a good location - just a few minutes off of the highway. The hotel pictures online make it seem like this is an indoor hotel, which I value for safety, traveling as a single female. While part of the hotel was indoor, there were at least two building that were outdoor like a motel. My room was also a nonsmoking room but it smelled like someone had just been smoking in it. When I called the desk over 5 times to switch rooms I could not get a hold of anyone.
Limpo e perto do centro A banheira estava quebrada
A máquina de venda automática Banheira de hidromassagem jacuzzi/fora de ordem
A equipe Falou inglês quase. O hotel cheira a mofo
Loved the swimming pool, hot tub, soft pillows, shower!! If they had more tag one shuttle it would've been perfect!
It was clean, friendly staff, free hot and cold breakfast, 10 minutes away from downtown Portsmouth, free parking, indoor pool, exercise facility, minutes away from I-95, a food market around the corner if you forgot anything, about 12 minutes to Kittery ME. It was a good hotel.
It was close to downtown Portsmouth. The young woman checking me in didn't find my reservation for a long while... The room I was offered smelled of smoke, I complained to the manager and was promised a smoke free room for the next night. I was also promised that I didn't have to pay for the first night, which was correct. The next day I removed all my belongings before leaving the hotel, when I came back in the evening to receive my smoke free room, I was told that the hotel was full! The manager was away - and the man handling our matter could not promise another free night in the same room that smelled of smoke, where I stayed the previous night - although the plaque on the desk promised, "If you're not fully satisfied, your stay is on us". We decided to leave the hotel!!
The beds were the best I've ever slept in - actually called the hotel & got the info to buy one direct from Simmons thru the Hotel Bed purchase program - apparently I'm not the only one who was amazed by these beds! The rooms were quite large, well laid out, and included a good-sized refrigerator & microwave, coffee maker, etc. The bathroom was large and the shower was great. The pool & hot tub are in the basement - so having some fun until 10 or 11pm is not going to disturb anyone's sleep. Overall, fantastic. We were pleasantly surprised as we didn't expect all of this from a Comfort Inn. We will be staying at more in the future!
We were given a corner room which we were very happy with as it is usually a more quiet location building wise. Couldn't have been more wrong... Either an HVAC or some type of fan was located in the wall, behind a locked door, at the foot of our bed. It was EXTREMELY noisy. After several hours of trying to sleep, I called the front desk to request a room change. Yes, it was that noisy. No one answered at the desk after two attempts. I got dressed and went down to the lobby. No one could be found ! (It was 1am at that point). We ended up turning the heat down to its lowest setting and although we were freezing, it was somewhat more quiet. Not pleased at all.
