The bathroom needs an upgrade -- tiles were chipped, and would have preferred a glass shower room. The amenities were not obvious and only when the cleaner explained where they were hidden in the vanity unit was it made clear (I had to use my own toiletries on day 1 of our stay which was not great. It might be nicer to parade in our bathrobe to the pool (not through the car park area) as felt a little on display. The service in the courtyard was not consistent in the morning it was better than lunch-time or evening when it was very slow.

Hard to like anything when the experience was so bad.

We were excited to stay at Chateau for the first time, check-in was was all good but when we got to our Bungalow (which cost nearly $1000 US a night) it was just woeful. Number 84 which is right on the front of the property near Sunset Boulevard - which meant not only was the road noise crazy bad, but the vibration of cars and trucks also travelled right through the room. I immediately called reception as we put our bags down to be told that there were not other rooms available as they were fully booked and the gentlemen would call back if there was a solution, but we'd have to wait until the next day to move as we had a multi-night stay booked. He never called back. Even with ear plugs it was near impossible to sleep with the road noise as they Bungalows are still original, meaning that the plate glass in windows is super thin and none of the doors and windows are insulated for noise. As soon as the sun broke the next morning we packed up and checked out. I advised the woman at the front desk about our problem and whilst she acknowledged 'that's a shame' nothing more than handing me the bill. So my recommendation, DO NOT STAY at this hotel. The restaurant/bar etc might be great in the main hotel, but the Bungalows will only disappoint and you are guaranteed no sleep.
