The swimming pools were great, breakfast was superb with selection and variety of free fruits and overall the facilities were clean. Location was excellent, could walk pretty much everywhere. Prices at the spa and restaurants are far above the regular thai standards but that is OK as there are tens of options in the neighbourhoods. Same goes for internet and laundry, which were priced as in Europe but luckily, there were several cheaper options available at the neighbourhood.
curtain & carpet is old and dirty.
Excellent value for the price. The hotel caters for all tastes and the service is impeccable.
The location is very good and the restaurant/bar next door serves delicious food! The hotel is quite old and is in need of renovation.
Imperial Mae Ping is perfectly situated close to the night bazaar but far enough away not to be caught up in the traffic and noise. Airconditioning was difficult to regulate.
We hope they change the tv and add more tv Chanels
i did not like the hotel, the staff were unprofissional, and hardly speaks english, no experiance in hotel managment althou the hotel is very old the hotel is old, furniture is very old, staff don't spaek english well, to hard to communicate with operator or room service.
Your staff, Breakfast choice and quality and the pools. Oh, superb beds! Room furniture a little old and poor quality. Bathrooms very basic (bath & shower especially with grouting between the tiles blackened with mould.
High quality rooms and friendly and helpful staff make for a great product! We had a great stay. N/A
Location is very go od the night bazar is only 5 minutes walk far , and there are alot of bars resturants and tour services arround place. no
O café da manhã era excelente e o porteiro e o centro de informação eram prestativos. A localização era ótima! Péssimo Wi-Fi no quarto. A cama era muito desconfortável e ultrapassada. As mulheres da recepção eram rudes e uma tentou me cobrar mais por um táxi do que outro funcionário, o que é suspeito. No geral muito desatualizado e não recomendo.
It was clean. Great location. Minimal noise. The pool was closed due to rennovations - it would have been nice to have received a small discount or other benefit as one reason for selecting this hotel was the pool. The breakfast was OK (just). The coffee is awful - even busy hotels can make decent coffee.
Location, right next to the night Baazar., Did not have any facilities in the hotel. They would have to shuttle you to another place and shuttle would stop at 4pm.
hotel staff had a good command of English and were very polite and competent! Nice place to be, hotel is next to night market => very good! nothing
This was a decent hotel with a Great city location, for shopping and the rooms were much better than described in other reviews. The Breakfast was alittle lacking with selections not replentished , when they were out , they were out ! lol
The room was truly excellent value at 2000 Thai baht including as much Continental, American and Thai breakfast as you might wish to eat (in a spacious restaurant atmosphere). Our room not only had very comfortable beds but also a big sofa. There was free tea and coffee and the minibar was very reasonably priced - dressing gowns, slippers, plenty of hot water for the good bath and shower. Everything was spotless. The location near the night market is superb and the sound proofing very good. We visited at holiday time so there was no renovation or building work going on. This is now our first choice of hotel in Chiang Mai for sheer value for money.
the breakfast was average..no bacon..very ameuter service with no knowlege of customer service
Fantastic room and bathroom design. Tuk-tuk to town centre only 80 Baht - always one outside. Peaceful river at the bottom of the garden. Small, intimate hotel with few rooms and reasonably priced food and drinks.
I like the interior and serenity. The breakfast lawn is so relaxing and tranquil. The water heater did not function, it changed temperature on its own.
Aruntara is a sea of tranquility right in the city of Chiang Mai. Excellent staff and a clear desire to make guests feel comfortable. Great location. High standard of quality. I upgraded to the White Elephant Suite and felt I had the best room in Chiang Mai for the price.
Incredible service, very good food, great location in Old Town and the rooms were nice and spacious. It was quiet and far away enough from the bars to be quiet but close enough that the Old Town bars are only an 8 minute tuk tuk ride away. Nothing to not like.
Very modern rooms with Asian design. Very tastefull room furnishing. Everything was brand new and spotless. Lovely garden and restaurant on the riverside. Reception very warm and friendly. Charming shop in the lobby with spa products. Bit small pool. Breakfast selection was modest. Noisy airconditioning. Walking distance from center, however not really close.
The staff were very attentive and friendly for the entire duration of our stay. The food is amazing and really reasonably priced compaed to what you pay in the city. Only a 60 baht tuk tuk ride to the city (3 AUD) and 150 baht (5 AUD) to the airport. Amazing value for money, great service - will defintely recommend and be back myself in the future!
The restaurant has a beautiful and restful view of the river. Location was far from the old city.
The service was a little off... When we checked in the staff told us the market was only open weekends, but each weeknight we went it was open.
The lobby is an immediate breath of fresh air - it smells so amazing with all the oils and things for sale. The desk staff is nice and the valet was wonderful - we used his help all the time, getting taxis. The rooms are beautiful and have gorgeous boutique finishes and hardware. The breakfast buffet was awesome! The hotel feels like it's on the outskirts of the city. It's a decent taxi ride to get to the main areas. The pool was freezing cold and in the shade all day - it's not the kind of pool where you get a tan or have a view. The river is not a pretty attraction. The mattress is rock hard - some people may like that, though!
was a nice and very peaceful place. no
Hotel staff was so nice. Room is in good condition. The location is perfect for Chiang Mai city trip.
Location The decor and furniture is really outdated. The air conditioning is not cold, just blowing warm air. Breakfast is just okay. It's NOT a 4-star hotel. Will not return.
This hotel is the best value for the money that I have ever seen. It is beautiful and well maintained and the beds are very comfortable. Not a thing.
Excellent rooms for very reasonable price.
Staff exceptional. Rooms very large and comfortable. Location quiet with great views. Has okay pool and fitness. Very god value (although stayed in low season, so heavily discounted). Very good internet in room (if wifi not so good, they provide a cable access also). Highly recommended. Location a little out of town. Really need to hire car/motorcycle for convenience - but quieter for that. TV channel selection quite poor (no BBC news or CNN - although AlJazeera okay. Movie channels not good). I did not find these issues bothered me much though.
the room decor is very odd/poor. Breakfast is just ok. I can hear the people yelling from down the street. I wouldn't stat here again.
We switched rooms because there was mold all over the bathroom, dead bugs in the room along with ants running around everywhere. Hotel caters mainly to Asians. Looks like the hotel in the shinning from the inside.
proximity to beach 80% of guest list russian totally inadequate number of lifts you need to allow +/- 30 minutes to get to and from breakfast or use staircase. very high cost for using internet
The hotel is an excellent choice for the Chiang Mai area. We found the manager and staff to be highly efficient, well trained, and extraordinarily friendly in a country where everyone smiles. We highly recommend the hotel. In our room, I was the victim of an incident, which was handled very efficiently and gracefully by the staff. The cleanliness, the amenities and the service were outstanding. They are so good, there is nothing to improve.
Very friendly staff, good quality and comfortable facilities. The location is really unconvenient for those tourists interested in the typical attractions who has not their own transportation. The hotel is really far from the downtown attractions and activities. Taxi is very expensive and the hotel only offers a once-a-day complimentary transportation at 7 pm to the Night Bazar, which isn't enough.
Beautiful hotel room grounds and very attentive staff. None
Perfect hotel on the perfect location in Chiang Mai. Very friendly personel, big proper and luxery room comined with a relaxing swimmingpool is the ultimate experience when you want to stay in the hart Chiang Mai close to the night market. Also the staff helped a lot with personal favors. One staff member went with us to the hospital and to the local market to buy some hard to find items. The prices of the SPA are too high
Fantastic hotel, in a great location. Stayed at the hotel twice as we liked it so much, lovely pool and good size rooms with very good bathrooms. Breakfast was very good and enjoyable sitting outside in the garden.
Very warm welcome. Caring and beautful staff. They get a lot of clients return, which is not surprising. Excellent breakfast. Eggs cooked how you like. Great attitude. Large bathroom. Lovely location and near old city centre and night market. The cleaners made a noise early in the morning.
small hotel but the room was very comfortable and staffs were extremely friendly and helpful.even to compare to Thai standard service. every small things were done so sofisticately. top class service. the fresco in the bed room was little bit over the top but that's my view point. Some other people may think it's exotic. However, for me, it seemed like I am having two Thai ladies in the room and they were watching me while I was sleeping. It would have been much nicer if they had some paintings than the fresco of local ladies
The hotel is a relaxing, calm and beautifull place and with lots of green around, you'd never think you're just near the buzy evening markets of Chang Mai.
Stayed 5 nights with 3 young kids.Friendly and helpful staff. Best location. WIll stay here again.
Excellent location; easy access to many sightseeing spots. The most staff are generally helpful. Kids friendly. Our original room was in the back side of the compound where there is no view at all and next to a construction site. It had two single beds, when we wanted to have one king size. We asked for a different room, and they found one but we had to pay extra (and later we found out that the extra charge was more than what we were explained in the beginning). There was a problem with a taxi driver the hotel booked for us, though the hotel dealt it well afterwards and gave us a refund on the cost of the taxi. We were charged for a spoon that went missing. We felt as we were constantly being reminded of something that we need to pay more. We never had this type of issues in a hotel of this class.
Excellent hotel in lovely grounds, very quiet but amazingly green for a city hotel. The staff were excellent and very helpful.
Excellent location, great staff and service. Lovely surroundings. I would definitely book this hotel again.
The day of our arrival there were many people checking in and although we had to wait our turn, almost immediately eye contact was made with a staff member who gave us a warm smile letting us know we were acknowledged. The registration itself was not only fast and efficient but our preferences were given a high priority, i.e what side of the hotel we wanted to face, and did we want non-smoking, etc. My overall impression was the hotel wanted to ensure our comfort during our stay with them. We felt very much at home, so to speak. The staff from the front doormen, the concierge, the servers, housekeeping were amazing in that the friendliness displayed by one and all was genuine and welcomed by us - they all seemed to have an uncanny sense of when to kibitz and when not to and that we appreciated very much. The rooms are very, very comfortable - the bedding is to die for. Actually, I can only say that their attention to detail made everything perfect. The restaurant is most definitely ...
Great staff,nice atmosphere, stylish ambiance
Friendly staff, decent breakfast, close to sites and shopping.
Small scale, excellent location, quiet, friendly staff, nice lanna style decoration, good breakfast buffet.
If you will come to Chiang Mai for the Thai New Year in April - book the street view room, and you will get the best view in the city for a festival atractions and a total madness ;-) In the rest - hotel have a nice, clean, stylish rooms. Fast internet. Good breakfast but not a royal ) McDonalds is on the first floor of the building. Small parking, if you travel by a rented car. Reserve a 15 minutes to get out of the parking.
Brandnew (just opened), no nonsense concept hotel on a good location, just outside the wall in the centre of Chiang Mai. Very friendly staff and good performing free wireless internet as well.
Free internet- Convenience to restaurants
was close to everything that you want to see and staff were very friendly and helpfull.
The location is ideal, in the centre yet not noisy. The room was great, new, clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful, although their knowledge of english was limited (that's common in all Thailand). Breakfast was good, internet connection was fast and reliable, unlike other hotels we visited in Thailand.
Location was in the heart of the town. Price was very good for the area Firstly when checked in and went to the room it was not made up. Got moved to a room which had which was noisey. Had to move from this room as not only the noise the water stopped working too... 3 rooms 2 days not best of starts
The hotel was clean and well kept It was very simple basically a bed and a chair. Nothing extra. The breakfest was exactly the same every morning, no change in food options.
Nice facilities, friendly & helpful staff, owner was friendly and accessible.
Service.People were extrmely nice Bathroom is not good and location is also not the best
Fantastic small resort, with verry good personal attention! Big rooms. We had a great time!
I loved the interior design of the building with the frangipani trees and terrace gardens as well as the unusal light fixtures and gorgeous tiles that were different in each room. I liked the ambience of the hotel that was elegant and boutique in style! I liked everything about the hotel except that I think the bathroom towels needed to be upgraded as they were not soft and fluffy..I also liked the managing director taking an interest in the guests. The staff made a huge effort to accomodate all requests!
The hotel was lovely and the staff attentive and created and warm and personal feeling during our stay. Appreciated the attention to detail in all regards and would stay there again at a future trip to Chiang Mai.
excellent service and quiet location, probably perfect for people that seek resting. Lack of comfort in rooms for this price... Breakfast was good but nothing wonderful either. Others hotels provided better for similar prices
This hotel is gorgeous, subtle and tasteful, peaceful and the staff are all class. Nothing is too much trouble for the people looking after you. I've stayed at a lot of 5 star hotels in my time but never had this level of service - ever. There's a sincerity about the staff that makes you feel like you're among friends - professional helpful friends, not the flakey ones. And did I mention its gorgeous there? Paradise found. Nope.
Lovely Service Claustrophobic
Good Enviroment, The bathroom is small,The water is unsatdle. Swimming pool is small. Complain the attitude to service. All the payment had been charged when I once check in. Location is not so good, out of the way! Just few twin bed room, They couldn't arranged the twin bed as my request but forced me to stay n hold the payment.
The quietness, the relax atmosphere even in a "busy" town as Chang Mai. The Lannai architecture and even the Wifi available... Certainly the best breakfast in that part of Thailand. The efficiency of the Front Desk people and their natural smiles. A suggestion: increase the frequency of the shuttle to move around town.
quiet, clean, pool was good there was nothing I did not like
Great little hotel situated in a very calm area. Super ambiance and lovely small beautifully arranged bungalows and well integrated swimming pool. Outside bathroom and outside spa area near the pool was a good surprise. We can only recommend this place. You get priceworth taxi transport.
Very relaxing and a nice treat for us on honeymoon and for new years eve was disappointed with the evening meal in the restaurant, and then they had run out of fruit juices at breakfast also.
The only redeeming feature about this hotel was the staff...excluding the Manager though. Beware!! Hotel is under construction & was noisy all day every day. We had workers walking past us as we were getting massages & absolutely no privacy - I was half naked. Water & Electricity was cut off for 1 full day. Manager, Mattias seemed unconcerned with his Guests experience - just focused on getting the new building completed!! I would not recommend staying here until 2009..if at all.
i felt at home....
Amazing accomodation, wonderful atmosphere and brilliant staff..very romantic and relaxing i cant wait to come back no bar
Loved the hotel's landscaping and the deign of the facility. I've never seen a landscaping crew work as hard, and their efforts showed. Liked the pool a lot as well. The staff's professionalism can really be improved. They weren't rude but They need to work on the little things. My wife asked the front desk for a list of the costs associated with the hotel's laundry service. The guy at the front desk says "it's found in the closet near the tv" (which it wasn't). This is supposed to be a five star hotel. Other places would apologize and quickly go find a list for their guests, instead of fault the blame on their guests. Additionally, there is no hair conditioner in the hotel's bathroom. I understand that some may not require this, but I'd be willing to bet a good portion of the hotel's guests do. You have to personally request conditioner from the hotel's maid service. Weird. And finally, their drink pool service has a lot to improve upon. I had to go to the hotel's other bar on the other side of the hotel to get drinks by the pool. On the last day of my stay, the hotel staff told me I could call that bar and they would deliver drinks over to the pool, but when I called, no one answered.
The architecture and decor is suberb. The attention to detail is beyond description. Location is wonderful. It is wonderfully tranquil and reminded me of the Lost City in Beijing.
